I remember back then when people complained that Plotmon/Tailmon became Holydramon instead of Ofanimon because it wouldn’t add up to the whole Tailmon and Patamon being counterparts thing when in reality it still added up because Holydramon was Tailmon’s Beast type Ultimate(or Mega if your a dub person) and Patamon also has a Beast type Ultimate which was Goddramon :/
AND THEY’RE ALSO COUNTERPARTS
I’m finally posting art again, yaaay!
My little story for them is that they live in a world where all human beings have the elements of nature in their blood, and all the elements don’t really get along with one another and the only time they do get along is when they have to work together against something. Enemies to Lovers typ’a beat and they also have an accidental child, their child is named Ashes and he was created by Hydro accidentally almost turning Flare’s whole arm to ashes. Ashes is a teenager while Flare and Hydro are both adults, Ashes is also in the custody of Flare as he was the main cause of his birth(I guess Flare is the mother??)
Listen, I will forever accept Takuya as the shortest of the group(Tomoki doesn’t count as he’s younger than the rest) as canon and no one can stop me. The fucker is literally shorter than Izumi and while yes I know it’s most likely because of animation errors and not knowing the scaling of the characters but I always have the fucking image of Takuya being shorter than Izumi and Kouji stuck in my head
So I’m currently in my frontier feels so imma just spout random headcanons
#1, whenever the group sees anything that reminds them of the digital world they would most definitely get all caught up in their memories of their adventure. It makes for great scenarios especially if there’s anyone close to them nearby like a friend or family member and they’re just confused as to why they stopped to stare at something
2#, I like to think that they inherited the enhanced senses, that they had back in the digital world, in the human world since I know it’d be most unlikely that they inherited physical things from the spirits so this is the second best for me to think about.
3#, they definitely would create code names for the digital world just in case anyone were to eavesdrop on them whether it be accidentally or purposefully.
4#, I feel like they would definitely go overboard with things like birthday parties, they would do anything to make sure that they made celebrations a special memory they’d remember forever.
5#, they most definitely remembered the days they got their spirits and threw parties for it(cause as Kouji said, it’s like they have two birthdays, one in the human world and one in the digital world)
While Tri may not have been a huge favorite of mine, I still found some things I liked about it
One of the things being the “villain”, I really liked Meicoomon and I found it interesting that they used a dark evolution as a villain
The scene with Patamon and Takeru really just ripped my heart in half, it really stung when I watched it
And if the emotional scene between Patamon and Takeru wasn’t enough, the scene were Taichi and Daigo got separated from the others literally stomped on my already hurt heart, I literally just recovered from the scene with Patamon and Takeru and then they had to make Daigo sacrifice himself and even hinted that he died.
I hate it when the happy ending for characters with trauma is that they get into a relationship with someone, getting into a relationship doesn’t just suddenly erase the traumatic memories and experiences.
Trauma isn’t something that just goes away because someone now loves and cares about you, sure it may hurt less but it’s still there at the back of your mind, so it’s very upsetting when a character is suddenly okay now that they’re in a relationship. ☹️
Also, I don’t like when people make it seem like the other person understands their suffering, because no they don’t. They can sympathize sure, but they cannot understand the pain and horrors they went through. This is why a ship from a current fandom I’m in is a NOTP of mine, it’s because of the fact that this dynamic is literally the whole thing with that pairing.
