Had a visitor to my parent’s house last Friday. This opossum climbed up into the birdfeeder, then went for the suet. After he finished, he went back to the bird feeder and slept in the sun for a little while.

This is a North American Badger, a fierce, solitary, and carnivorous mammal. The scientific name is Taxidae taxus, with Taxus and its derivatives being the Latin words for Badger. Badgers are in the same scientific family (Mustelidae) as weasels, mink, otters, wolverines, and other types of badger from other countries. The North American Badger lives in the central and western United States. Reports claim that these badgers are so fierce, they will fight off a cougar in order to get at the carcass of prey. 

People only have substance within the memories of other people. That's why there were all these versions of 'me.' But it's not really that are all sorts of me's-- It's just that I exist inside all sorts of people.

Here is your cute and interesting animal of the day, the Red Panda!! :) The few existing subspecies of red panda plus their extinct relatives have their own scientific family called Ailuridae. The scientific name of the red panda is Ailurus fulgens, roughly translated as golden cat-bear in Latin.
