the damage latino craig becoming widely accepted fanon has done to his character is like actually baffling and of course Of Course as a latino i LOVE latino craig to me he absolutely is!ā¦ but i can say without a shadow of a doubt there are some fans who enjoy latino craig in a way that is veryā¦telling of some of their thoughts on latinos as a whole?especially when it comes to his depiction of being in a romantic relationship with a white person its as if these people think to themselves craig is the man of his relationship so hes āallowedā to be latino because being latino is seen as inherently masculine this headcanon iāve noticed sometimes serves to further a certain narrative around interracial relationships and who in them is worthy of being innocent and kind and also who in a fan work we are supposed to empathize with if this makes sense ? its sometimes like because a creator has no investment in latino culture it can feel otherd by their work like voyeuristic in a way that is obvious to me as someone who knows the ins and outs of what its like to actually live in my body and culture i dont know itās crazy this is about south park yaoi guys like what the hell am i saying
obsessed with the idea that everyone is convinced craig is a ātroubled kidā with issues and problems so craigs parents (who really dont see why their son would be so troubled since hes had a pretty good/average upbringing) eventually relent and put him in therapy and it turns out he just had autism the whole time
