i want someone to tell me that i make them happy and maybe even horny
A/N- I've seen so many people talking about a Gareth fic where the reader helps him after Jason beats him up but I haven't seen any being posted! I guess I'm glad to be the first
Summary- Gareths neighbor comes over to see him with blood on his face and a nearly broken hand and decides to help fix him up
Genre- Fluff
Warnings- Mentions of blood
Tag List- @imagine-all-the-imagines @ahzysauce
As you were finishing this week’s homework at your desk in your bedroom, you heard a loud crash that seemed to come from just outside.
Being neighbors with Gareth, you knew that him and the other members of his band would get loud, but it was nothing like what you just heard. As you kept listening out your window you could hear yelling, from Gareth and another guy, you weren’t quite sure who, but you could definitely recognize the voice.
You heard speeding tires a few moments later and looked out your window, seeing Jeff and Grant helping Gareth up, his drum set almost destroyed behind him.
The two of you wouldn’t consider yourselves close by any means but growing up across the street from each other gave the two of you a pretty strange relationship. You would call him a friend, but the only time you spend together was at block parties or hanging out when your parents had dinner but really nothing more than that. Still, you cared for him.
He seemed a bit intimidating at first, but in reality, he was just quiet and shy. You knew how sweet he could he just from watching him play with his sisters and he wouldn’t hurt a fly.
You quickly slipped your shoes on and made your way downstairs, just wanting to make sure he was ok. It was out of the ordinary for you to just go up and talk to him out of the blue but whatever happened you could definitely tell he was hurt.
“Hey,” you said as you made your way up his driveway, “are you ok?”
He shook his head, looking at the hand that was just covering his nose, seeing the fresh blood coating his fingertips,
“Jason…”
“Oh shit…” You took a few steps forward and looked at his cheek, a large cut and his nose had a small trickle of blood flowing from it, his face was swollen too, “do you need any help?”
He nodded as his friends let go of his arms. He tried to balance himself as his friends started picking up the different parts if his drum kit off the garage floor to put it back together,
“You guys clean that up, (y/n) would you help me inside?”
You nodded and grabbed his arm, slowly leading him inside.
Though you’d been over a handful of times, you’d never seen it empty. Every time you were over in the past it was either decorated for whatever holiday party your parents had dragged you to or filled with adults, but every time you and Gareth always found a way to spend time together. You’d go up to his room and watch whatever movies he rented for the week or listen to music and talk. One night a few months ago, the two of you were able to sneak off into the garage away from the parents and share a joint, talking about how strange it was to grow up across the street from each other your whole lives and yet you only ever hung out when your parents got together.
You’d wished that your next hang out was under different circumstances, though it was strange to be left all alone with him without having to worry about your parents finding you.
You had to admit, living across the street from Gareth definitely had its perks. You got to see his band during their rehearsals, you watched him play in the front yard with his sisters, and you had to admit he looked pretty cute when he was mowing the lawn shirtless in the summertime. And he could say the same about you. He got to see you in your driveway when your mom insisted on taking pictures on the first day of school every year, he was able to see your reaction when you got your first car, and he loved the view from his bedroom into your backyard, especially when you were lounging around in a skimpy bathing suit.
Most of the time he had to fight with himself over whether or not he should sneak a picture on his polaroid to keep all for himself.
He did feel a bit strange to be left all alone in his house with you, but now all he was focused on was making sure his blood didn’t drip onto the carpet.
You led him into an upstairs bathroom and sat him on the edge of the tub as you searched through the medicine cabinet and vanity drawers, looking for something to try and clean him up.
“Where do you guys keep your band aids?” You said, pulling out a bottle of antiseptic and a few cotton pads from under the sink.
Gareth pointed to the medicine cabinet, and you were able to find them, along with a bottle of Tylenol.
You set everything onto the counter and took one of the washcloths next to the sink, soaking it with cold water and handing it to Gareth to clean himself up. He winced as he pressed the cold fabric to his face, his hand red and bruised, struggling a bit to keep the cloth stable as he pressed it to his face.
“Here,” You sat in front of him and took the cloth from his hand, gently pressing it to the side of his face to try and let the cold ease the pain as it soaked up the bit of blood still trailing from his lip, “better?”
He nodded, and you gave him a shy smile as you sat there cleaning him up. The small spot of blood was able to be cleaned up pretty easily, thankfully it was nothing too severe, but the cut on his lip and the bruise on his cheek were another story. His hand would definitely need some ice too, especially with the condition it was in.
You removed the cloth from his face and set it onto the counter, grabbing the bottle of antiseptic and a few cotton pads. You soaked the pads and set the bottle back onto the counter,
“This is gonna sting a little bit, ok?”
He took a deep breath and groaned as you pressed it gently to his lip, dabbing at it just a bit to clean it.
“It’s not so bad,” He said, trying to ease the tension as the two of you were so close together, “hurts a lot less than a punch.”
You softly giggled at how he managed to still make you laugh while he was so hurt. It was cute that he was trying to mask his pain, but you knew that he was hurting much more than he led on.
“Alright, I think the bleeding stopped, but you definitely need some ice on that hand.” You took his injured hand carefully into yours to look at it. It was red, bruised, and you could tell he was going to be in pain for the next couple of days, “I think you’ll live though.”
“Oh, thank god,” He said as the two of you stood up, his hand still in yours, “I was worried we’d have to amputate.”
You giggled again as you gently let go of his hand, putting away the cotton pads and antiseptic before pulling out a Band-Aid to put against his lip,
“Well, if you think it’s that bad, I can always just use a knife from the kitchen and save you some money.”
He tried to smile but winced from the cut on his lip. You opened the band aid and gently put it over the cut, your fingertips gently brushing over his lips, and you could see the faintest pink over his cheeks.
“There. How do you feel?”
“A little better… Still hurts but I think if I put some ice on it for a bit, I’ll be alright.”
The two of you exited the bathroom and made your way back downstairs into the kitchen.
“You sit, I’ll get you some ice.”
You rummaged through his freezer as he took a seat at the kitchen table. He looked at his hand and winced again as he tried to move his fingers, but you quickly stopped it as you sat next to him, two ice packs in your hand,
“Here, this one goes on your hand,” You said, placing one of the ice packs on top of his hand on the table, “and this one goes…” you said as you gently placed the other onto his cheek, “there.”
You smiled as he held the other ice pack to his cheek, his fingers gently brushing over yours as he held it. He smiled, laughing to himself.
“What’s so funny?” You asked him with a shy smile.
“It’s nothing, it sounds kinda weird…”
“It’s fine,” You said with a giggle, “it can’t be that bad.”
“Well, um…” He looked down at the icepack in his hand, trying not to look up at you, “it’s just been a while since you had to help fix me up you know? Got that weird déjà vu feeling of when we were little and fucking around in the street and I fell over on the curb and skinned my knee really bad.”
You giggled as you remembered that day, there was a block party, and all the kids were running in the street trying to pop all the giant bubbles from one of the other neighbors’ bubble machines. You couldn’t have been older than seven, and you and Gareth kept trying to see who could pop the most and while he was chasing after one, he wasn’t looking and tripped over the curb.
“Yeah, we didn’t want your parents to find out and get us in trouble for messing around in the street. I think I used that same bottle of antiseptic stuff; it looked pretty old.”
“I think so, yeah. Its weird, it felt almost the same, except it was my face that got all fucked up and not my knee.”
You smiled and gently bit your lip, looking down at his hand on the table,
“Yeah, and I didn’t try and kiss it all better like our moms did when we got hurt.”
The two of you sat there in silence for a moment. It was a bit awkward, and you both could tell you had the same thing on your mind.
“You know…” Gareth looked back up at you, breaking the silence, his cheeks and nose glowing the brightest shade of pink, “it might help a little bit.”
You looked back up at him, though your eyes darted back and forth between his eyes and his lips, and his did the same.
You couldn’t tell who moved first, but the two of you slowly inched closer to one another and before you could even process it, your lips were on his.
It was soft, gentle, and though it only lasted a few moments you could feel a gentle spark between you. You had barely seen each other as you grew older, only spending time together at neighborhood functions, and now you were kissing in his kitchen. Neither of you were sure of what to call this new ‘relationship’ you had, but whatever it was, it was nice.
As your lips parted, you both quickly looked to the garage door as Jeff and Grant made their way into the house,
“Hey man, we got your kit put all back together, I don’t think anything’s broken,” Jeff said as he shut the garage door behind him, looking back at the two of you at the table, your faces bright red and your eyes wide with the adrenaline of almost being caught, “you guys alright?”
“Yeah, you look kinda weird.” Grant said with a laugh.
“Yeah, yeah were totally fine,” You said, trying to ease the tension from you and Gareth, “I was just going.” You stood up from the table and looked back down at Gareth, “I’ll see you around.”
You said with a smile, waving to him and his friends as you quickly left through the garage door.
“(Y/n)!” Gareth called out to you as he followed you out, reaching for your hand, but wincing once again as he forgot all about the pain, he was feeling in it, “You know um… You don’t have to if you don’t want to but, I was just thinking that maybe when my hand isn’t all fucked up, and my face is looking… like this,” he said with a nervous laugh, “maybe you’d want to um… do something?”
You giggled at his nervousness. He seemed so eager to kiss you and yet just asking you out made him so flustered; it was cute to see how nervous you made him even after watching each other grow up right across the street from one another.
You took a step forward and gave him another gentle kiss, catching him by surprise,
“Yeah, I’d love to.” You said with a smile, leaning in just a bit closer to him, whispering, “Tell your friends its rude to stare.” You gave him another gentle wave as you made your way down his driveway and back to yours.
He turned and saw Jeff and Grant standing in the doorway to the garage. Jeff smiled and approached him, wrapping his arm around his shoulder,
“Nice job man! I guess girls are into guys with scars.”

As a girl or woman, raise yourself to be an intellectual. Raise yourself to be a reader, a traveller, a curious explorer. Raise girls who are independent livers and thinkers, who are critical of standard narratives and status quos and societal and religious dogma. Girls and women will never benefit from being naïve, stuck in one place, unaware, ignorant, out of options, close minded etc besides deriving from these states a false sense of safety, but the patriarchy reaps massive profits from afflicting these conditions.
Hello 😊
How about Eddie having a huge crush on the reader but he’s unsure if she feels the same. when one day he comes in early to set up for hellfire and he finds her reading the players handbook like taking notes and stuff trying to learn more about D&D so she can surprise him and play the game he loves. _____________
Eddie made his way through the hallway. The chain on his jeans clinked with each step– steps, which in turn echoed through the empty corridor. It was an hour before Hellfire would start, so obviously, none of the other members had arrived at the school yet, and everyone else was most likely across campus, on the bleachers watching whatever sports game was happening that evening. So no one would be in this part of the school.
That’s what Eddie thought, at least.
He opened the heavy doors to the drama room. It had become an unofficial meet-up spot for Hellfire, primarily because of all the props that the Drama club had left behind from earlier productions. His favourite, of course, had become the large throne he liked to sit in whilst in the game.
Most days, whenever he could, Eddie would be sure to come at least an hour earlier just to finalise the specifics of the upcoming session. Of course, he had planned the entirety of the campaign months in advance, as he liked to put details in to bring back in the later sessions, but he was a perfectionist. He would spend the upcoming hour setting up his place at the table with all the books and files he had made for the forthcoming story. He would reread his notes, perhaps add in something he had thought of at the moment or cut something out he had doubts about. So, easy to say, he needed that extra hour before game time.
But when he walked into the drama room, he noticed something was off, as the lights in the room were on. Not the usual dimmed ones the club uses, but the bright overhead lighting gave the entire room a yellow and artificial glow.
He noticed you. Sitting on the ground against the wall, a large book in your lap, absolutely absorbed in it. To the extent that you didn’t see or even notice him walking up to you. Only when he said “Hi” did you scream and jump up.
‘Woah, sorry,’ he chuckled, ‘didn’t mean to scare you.’
‘No, it’s fine,’ you coughed, closing your book quickly, trying to stuff it into your bag. But Eddie had already seen the title, and his interest peaked.
‘Is that… the Basic Set?’ He pointed at the Dungeons and Dragons rulebook you were holding, the giant dragon on the cover not really allowing you to deny it.
‘Uhm, yeah, I was just… I don’t know.’ You pushed it into your backpack, zipping it up quickly. ‘I should go anyway; the game is gonna start soon, so…’ you trailed off, not having anything else to add. You just got up, threw the backpack over your shoulder and walked past Eddie, leaving him dazed and confused. Only when you were almost at the door did he speak up.
‘What’s your name?’
‘y/n,’ you answered. You didn’t need to ask him back. If the Hellfire Club shirt and the untamed hair hadn’t been enough of a giveaway, maybe the smell of weed would have been. Though no one would admit it, everyone at Hawkins High knew Eddie Munson. One way or another. Maybe just in the passing of conversation, but that guy was infamous around your school. You had never talked to him before that moment, for various reasons, mostly because of what you had heard about him from your friends. It was better to not hang around the likes of him and his other freak friends.
So, when he walked up closer to you, you could feel your heart pounding faster and faster. You told yourself, there was nothing to be scared of. He was just a guy… a very attractive one, at that. You couldn’t lie to yourself. Something about him appealed to you; even if every cell in your body told you it was wrong, you were attracted to him. And maybe that was the reason your curiosity with this game of his had started.
It started, to be exact, during a certain lunch period. You were walking towards your locker to put away your books from the earlier classes and retrieve your lunch to eat outside. Eddie had been standing only a few feet away when you reached the spot. He was talking to someone, both of them wearing identical Hellfire shirts. As you unlocked your locker, you couldn’t help but listen to what they were talking about. Now, you couldn’t remember what the conversation was about anymore, but they had mentioned stuff that sounded just like a fantasy book or movie. Something that, unknown to your friends, you had seen and read a lot of. It was such an easy way to escape from the hell living in Hawkins.
Hearing them talk about it for the extended time needed to get your lunch out of your locker was enough for you to get hooked. You weren’t sure what exactly, but you were intrigued by the idea. A quick search in the yearbook for their little “Hellfire Club” told you enough. It was a Dungeons and Dragons club.
A few weeks later, when you finally made an excuse for your friend not to hang out, you went to the library and to your surprise, found an entire dust-covered shelf filled with manuals and rulebooks. You had no real intention of playing, but just wanted to know what the whole thing was about.
That led you to the Drama club classroom an hour before the big game, catching some alone time to read a few more pages of the book. You hadn’t even realised you had trespassed into the unofficial Hellfire lair.
Eddie had crossed the room now. He had his arms crossed, tapping his fingers on his bicep.
‘Would you– are you interested in playing?’
‘No,’ you said, probably too quickly. Not intending to insult him, you corrected yourself, ‘I just… was just reading into it. Don’t really know how to play.’
‘I can teach you,’ he smiled. ‘It’s not that hard, especially if you’ve got the background information already,’ he cocked his head in the direction of your backpack.
‘No, I don’t want to bother you–’
‘I didn’t mean now, if that’s what you were going for. I’ve got a campaign to run.’ He said, and you noticed his backpack left on one of the larger tables in the room.
‘You’re running for class president?’ you asked, to which he started laughing. Then you remembered: a campaign was the game, the story they played. ‘Wow, ok, that was dumb of me,’ you laughed at yourself.
‘It’s almost finished though,’ Eddie continued once his laughter died. ‘Maybe another session or two, depending on how much the rest decides to wise up. Then we’ll be starting a new one, and it might be easier for you to get started… if you’d like.’ He spoke slowly, cautiously, as if the wrong word would scare you off like a hunter who’d step on a twig while looking for deer. And perhaps, you would have ran of. The door wasn’t a foot away from you. At any given time, you could have told him to piss off and you could have walked away. Who did he think you were? Trying to get you to join his cult.
Well you were the person to do exactly that. You had already read enough to see that nothing the media was saying was true. It was a harmless, pretty fun looking, game, that clearly had a very strong community around it.
But it didn’t matter what you wanted. If your friends would ever find out that you were spending your evenings with Eddie “the Freak” Munson and his squad of cult members, playing some game where you would kill monsters with dice… you would never see the light of day again.
‘I don’t even have a character sheet,’ you tried to use that as an excuse, but Eddie wasn’t buying it. Instead, the corners of his lips tightened in a smirk.
‘The fact you even know what a character sheet is, sweetheart, tells me more than enough.’ He was findings his very amusing. There you were, one of the most preppy students in all of Hawkins High, holding tight on to your backpack strap hiding what most of the people you knew would almost consider illegal contraband. He could practically see the gears in your head turning, fighting the urge to join him on the dark side… not that you would even know what it meant… although, you had already surprised him aplenty in the few minutes you spent together. He wasn’t against one more revelation.
‘How about my house, over the weekend? I got nowhere else to be.’
‘I-’ you didn’t know what to say.
‘Scared your boyfriend will be upset if we hang out?’ He looked up at you from behind his eyelashes, reading your face for a reaction.
‘I don’t have a boyfriend.’ You were earnest in your response, maybe too earnest. But Eddie didn’t seem phased. Nothing of his following reaction sounded as if you had just past some kind of test or trick he tried to put up. He just nodded, maybe shrugged a little.
‘So, what do you think?’ He held his hand out for you to shake. You stared at it, probably for too long, inspecting the rings on his fingers.
‘I really got to go.’ And with that, you pulled the door open and ran off. It was true, you had agreed with your friends to meet at the game, and you were most likely running late, but your sudden exit had more to do with the uncomfortable feeling in your stomach. You didn’t know what to do, so– you ran away.
You were almost at the exit leading to the fields, two corridors away, when you stopped running. It was ridiculous, and extremely rude. Eddie had been so nice to you, so welcoming, and you just shut him down and ran away as if he was some psycho trying to lure you into a dark basement.
Eddie sat down at the table, trying to replay everything that just had happened in the room. Little made sense of it, but then again, when did things in his life ever make sense?
He pulled his campaign folder out of his back. A thick and black dossier, with the Hellfire logo scratched onto it with marker. Inside, a collection of scraps of paper with millions of his ideas scribbled into them. A system that would only make sense for the craziest of minds: his own.
He flipped through the pages, when the door of the room opened again. He met your eyes, saw how out of breath you looked but how you tried to keep your composure. But most importantly, he saw your smile, your excitement.
‘You should probably give me your address,’ you said, still in the threshold, ‘you know, if you want to meet up.’
Fan-Fiction Recommendations: UNCHARTED EDITION.
Hi, everyone! I tried to post this a couple of days ago, but Tumblr literally ate it all up and I was like "Cool".
I was in NO headspace to do THAT for a second time.
Anyway.
In light of very recent devastating events in the world, I was forced to stay at home and, thus, hop back into the deep dark hole known as Tumblr. Now, I have delved into every fandom I love, but since I write for Uncharted/Naughty Dog games exclusively, I thought I'd compile a list of my absolute favorite authors on this site, with links to their Masterlists and some of my nominations for my favorite works from each of them, along with a synopsis so you know what you're diving into.
I just think that there are so many underrated writers on here who truly have such a good sense of the characters we love and have such a good way with words, no matter the genre I read from them. From fluff all the way down to smut and angst, here are my favorite authors and my favorite pieces:
1) @the-drakeboys : Annie is an extraordinarily talented writer with such a broad range of genres. You can tell by her writing that she's very emotionally connected to everything around her and that she has a great deal of empathy. She works in the film industry, too, which makes her dialogue and her ability to build up events more professional than anyone I've ever read for. Here is her Masterlist and here are a few of my recommendations:
Darlin' (One-Shot. Category: Fluff): Apart from this piece being so very close to my heart for the sole reason of introducing me to Annie, it is a testament to how beautifully she writes with so little effort. This piece has minimal dialogue, but will – for SURE – give you the feels. (Synopsis: Sam can't get his eyes off the reader as he musters up the courage to ask her a question..)
Scars (One-shot. Category: A bit of everything. Fluff, angst, tiny hints at NSFW): A while back, I requested something that packs a lot of emotional weight and a tad bit of angst and fluff and Annie did NOT disappoint. Approximately 6K words displaying her UNGODLY amounts of talent. (Synopsis: After a passionate night together, the reader is pushed by her curiosity to finally ask Sam all the questions she’s been wondering for months.)
What I Deserve (One-Shot, Category: Angst, Fluffy ending): If you're looking to ride aboard a rollercoaster of emotions, you've come to the right place. This.. EXQUISITE piece.. is so well-written that every scene could easily be made into a movie. It's romantic, it's heartbreaking and heartwarming all at once and you're definitely gonna need a box of tissues. (Synopsis: In the heated passion of a fight, Sam pushes you away... not realizing his mistake until you’ve already gone.)
Annie ALSO has a mini-series she's been working on that should definitely be included in this list. "Come Back To Me," is – once again – gut-wrenching and absolutely sappy and exciting all at once. I recommend jumping on it right now when everything hasn't been updated yet to preserve the heat of suspense as we all impatiently wait for a 6th chapter ;) (Synopsis: When Sam doesn’t make it out of a Panamanian prison, the reader desperately goes after him in the hopes there may be a chance to save him.)
2) @missdictatorme : One of my VERY good friends who's EXTREMELY funny and also incredibly kind and supportive. I literally could not have been writing and publishing ANYTHING without her encouragement. While incredibly filthy, she poses a threat to every writer who has ever hoped to write some juicy drama that'll for SURE keep readers glued to the screen. Here's her Masterlist, and here are my top recommendations:
First Touch (mini-series. Category: A bit of everything: Angst, Fluff, and a WHOLE LOTTA NSFW): Before I'd joined Tumblr, I'd stumbled upon this marvelous series on AO3, but was disappointed to find it only had around 5 parts only posted there. I'd then joined Tumblr, where I'd coincidentally found missdictatorme. I realized that she was indeed the author of one of the most SCANDALOUS pieces I've ever read. (Synopsis: Sam is a close friend of your father. You always had a crush on him, even in your highschool years, so when you return after finishing college still as a virgin, you ask him for a favour. Will he help you?)
Sex-Ed (Mini-series. Category: Fluff, NSFW, a healthy bit of angst.. And did I mention NSFW?): I mean… It's in the name. That's exactly what it was. Think online classes, though. Very.. interactive classes. Practical work involved. ALSO a scandalous and dramatic piece that is possibly one of my favorites ever. (Synopsis: This story basically will contain a shitload of sex ed from Sam, because if he sees a woman in need he just has to help. Even if he is not there physically.)
And just in case someone likes a certain Englishman who's as handsome as he is cunning, check out her Harry Flynn works:
In Like Flynn (Two-Shot; Category: NSFW): This one's just pure filth with a pleasant turn of events to keep you on your toes. (Synopsis: Harry thought he had an easy job breaking in a rich collector’s house to steal a valuable artifact, but the work turned out to be… harder.)
Slow and Steady (One-Shot; Category: NSFW): Literally porn without plot. I don't know about you, but sometimes that's just what my.. "soul".. needs.
As for a series I'm currently reading, she has one that's in progress that I think everyone would adore if you're into the idea of AUs and just.. kids, then you should check out "The Stubborn, The Headstrong, and The Persistent." (Synopsis: AU where Sam is the CEO of a big marketing company and he also has an 11 years old son. Sam is very busy with work, usually staying in his office late in the afternoon, sometimes even at the evenings, attending meetings and dinners, while he hires nanny after nanny to watch his son, but they all quit after a few days. Will a certain smartass, irritating, insufferable neighbour be the solution to the problem? Well, as much as he hates it, yes, yes she will.)
3) @desertvvitch : Not only are they one of my favorite people whom I love talking to and definitely the kindest soul on here and one of the funniest, but they're SUPREMELY talented. They have such a great way with words and always paint the perfect picture with them. They've published but one work on Tumblr (@desertvvitch 's Tumblr Masterlist), but have so many others on AO3 that I'd like everybody to check out along with me! (@desertvvitch 's AO3 and Masterlist), but they are working on what seems like another installment of the Uncharted game series and it is such a fun read. Sam and the reader have such a complex relationship that slowly builds up as they progress through their adventure. Stuff slowly unravels and I love NOTHING MORE but some juicy drama and a tad bit of angst and she maintains this balance effortlessly. You can show the story I'm talking about, "Seaside Beauty", some love by clicking on the link I attached. (Category: Angst, a handsome amount of fluff, and a classy amount of NSFW; Synopsis: She craves adventure so much more than he does, and no one thinks he expected that.)
4) @unchartedterritoria : I mean, holy shit, where do I even start? This woman is the connoisseur of diversity in her works. It's ALWAYS a joy getting to read anything she's written. Despite not being online most of the time, she has an incredible Masterlist that will for sure keep you entertained for the LONGEST time. Here's her Masterlist, and here are my top recommendations:
Selfish (Mini-Series; Category: Fluff, ABSOLUTELY NSFW): Also one of the series I've stumbled upon on AO3 and found later on Tumblr. 100% recommend curling up under a blanket and reading this one. (Synopsis: Sam Drake, your friend and also your Uncle Sully’s business partner, owes you a favor. What you’re looking to cash in? Your virginity.)
A Scathingly Brilliant Idea, Not So Much (Two-Shot; Category: Fluff! It's cute. Just a lil' bit of language, but I'm sure nobody minds that): This is SUPER fun to read. I giggled ALL the way and I absolutely wish there was more of this but I also believe that it's perfect the way it is. (Synopsis: You and your friend Jenn spend time scoping out your hot neighbor Sam Drake. What happens when you add 3 bottles of wine?)
Hashtags (One-Shot; Category: Uh.. I do not know what to put this under but it's just PURE comedy): ALSO super funny to read. I had a big smile on my face all throughout. DEFINITELY read it if you're feeling down. (Synopsis: What if Same Drake went through and read his own hashtags?)
She also has an amazingly written series of her own that could ALSO very easily be another Uncharted installment. Very well-written, perfect build-up of events, and a perfect splash of drama to spice it all up. Naughty Dog, please have a chat with this woman and, you guys, make sure you check out "Dangerous" and spoil her with feedback. (Synopsis: Description: Faith Spencer, after finding an old Bible hidden in her mother’s things, ends up on an adventure with Sam Drake. While unearthing information about President Abraham Lincoln, the two are taken to places physically, mentally and emotionally that they thought they would never have to go…or go back to.)
5) @elledrake : Absolutely the coolest, sweetest human on planet earth. So welcoming and humble and supportive. I 1000% would die for her. Not only is she such a good person to talk to, but she's also secretly a VERY talented writer. For her, I can't compile an entire list because, unfortunately, she's only written but one piece with two parts. It's warm, it's domestic, and her descriptive writing will for sure make you gawk. So make sure to check out "Tell Me More" and leave feedback to encourage her to write more!
@smokydrake : I've never personally talked to them. They're currently on hiatus, but rarely ever reblog anything, so it'll be easy to just scroll down their account and consume as much Rafe or Sam content as your hearts so please. They're effortlessly and MASSIVELY talented.
@unchartedwrites : Their Masterlist is MASSIVE. You'd definitely want to go give 'em a follow and spoil the hell outta yourself. I have never talked to them, either, but I adore their writing and I'm sure you guys would, too!
And that's it for this one, guys. If you've any more suggestions of great writers I could add to this list, please don't hesitate to come forward 🥰 I'm always super glad to discover and learn and read more. Don't forget to support your favorite writers, guys! Especially in those tough times.
Much love!

You opened Doe's kiln, right?

“eddie,” you said, pushing his head out from your neck. “we’re in public.”
“babe.” he pouted, grabbing onto the belt loops in your jeans and hoisting you on his lap. “we’re in a trailer park, that’s hardly bein’ in public.”
“wayne can probably see us from your living room window,” you said, pushing his chest but still not moving from his lap.
“tell me to stop then.” he smiled and pulled you in by your waist, flushing your chest to his own.
“baby, i don’t know what your angle is here, but you’re not fucking me on a dirty picnic table.”
“still not sayin’ stop.” he started massaging your jean-clad thighs. “i think you’re into this.”
you didn’t say anything, just continued looking at him while his hands scattered all along your waist and legs.
“you’ve got pretty eyes, eds.” you said, cupping his cheeks in your hands. “they’re like kaleidoscopes.”
“they’re just brown.” he replied moving his hands up to the top of your waist. “yours are prettier.”
you laughed. “mine are the same color.”
“so you’re really just complimenting yourself?”
“no.” you said. “we’re just both pretty.”
his hands began gripping your wasting and moving you back and forth over his lap. despite the two layers of jeans between you, you couldn’t help but let out a soft whine.
“not so worried about making a scene now, huh?” he laughed.
“shut up,” you said, eyes closed while your arms were now wrapped around his neck. “you’re still not fucking me on this picnic table.”
“we can do whatever you want, baby.” he said, fully expecting you to pull him back into his trailer and into his messy bedroom.
instead, you let out a (sadistic) giggle and pulled him up on his feet. confused, he let you guide his hands back around your waist and propped your own on his shoulders.
you started swaying back and forth, and eventually eddie took the hint and started repeating your motions with you.
“if you wanna dance we can go inside and put on a record-”
“no.” you said. “i wanna dance outside with you.”
he left it at that and continued silently dancing with you. the only noise was both the sounds of your quiet breaths and the buzzing of cicadas. at one point your head fell on his shoulders and the evening dusk faded into the night sky.
“love you, eddie.” you said.
“love you too, baby.” he repeated, kissing the top of your head. “more than you’ll ever know.”
“yeah?” you asked.
“yeah.” he said. “the day we met was the best day of my fuckin’ life. still can’t believe you let me have you.”
“shut up.” you mumbled into his chest. “i didn’t let you have anything. i was always yours.”
you could feel his teeth on your scalp from his grin. he planted another chaste kiss on your forehead before continuing to sway with you.
“I just think you’d be happy with us,” Luffy insists for the fifth time that week, and exhausted, you reach over your shoulder, where he’s leaned over, practically resting his chin on your shoulder, and you grip his face, squishing his cheeks.
He pouts, but doesn’t break free, and you turn to look at him, giving him a frown. Your eyes lock for a few moments as you challenge him to keep speaking, and he, never intimidated by you even for a moment, even when you are trying, continues talking.
“Just think about it more?”
You’ve thought about it, many times in fact, and every time he returns to this neck of the woods since you met just several months ago, a similar conversation arises. The naivete in the idea of you leaving behind everything you’ve built for this pirate you knew nothing about a year ago amazes you, but Luffy has always had such a confidence and almost innocent directness to the way he communicates his desires that you find it harder and harder to not question your own resistance each time.
This time he’s particularly persistent, possibly to the point of being annoying. You apply a little bit more pressure to the grip you have on his face until his lips jut out and he whines.
“Hey, that hurts you know!”
You let go, even if you know you could never truly hurt him, and sigh.
“You know, asking more times won’t change my answer,” you remind him as he makes a show of stretching his face back to normal, then watches you stack a pile of books together and store them away into a cabinet. He’s keeping you company in your workroom as you finish up the last of your notes before leaving the clinic for the day. These days he no longer uses your friendship with Nami as a pretense to come and see you, and no one is sick - instead he strides in like he’s important to you in his own right, and you hate that he’s right about that.
You wonder who even lets him in these days.
“What would it take aside from asking?”
You look at him again, tilting your head slightly.
“To change my mind?” you clarify.
Luffy nods. You’ve started walking, and he follows closely behind, your sweet shadow as you lock up the room and place the key in your pocket, hands behind his head as he accompanies you down the street to your favorite restaurant.
Since the last time Luffy came to your city, a month has passed, and for the first time, you have admitted to yourself that you genuinely missed him - seeing his smile in an almost empty cup of coffee, or hearing his hearty laugh in a group of friends huddled at a bar, thoughts drifting to what it must be like for him on the sea whenever you have an idle moment.
Always joyous and free, sea salt and sunshine sinking deep into his skin.
Being by his side sounds more enticing every time he brings it up, but he doesn’t need to know that. In fact, perhaps he should think the opposite, you decide.
You stop suddenly in your tracks, and he stops too, watching you carefully as you make your first demand of him.
“Bring me a pearl and I’ll think about it,” you start. Luffy looks confused for a second, eyebrows furrowed, and crosses one arm over his chest, his other hand tapping his chin.
“I mean we could go to a jewelry shop right now but I don’t see why-”
Your look into his own eyes is fiery, interrupting him firmly. “As big as my head. The kind you’d only find hundreds of kilometers deep in the Calm Belt.”
The words are meant to be delivered neutrally, but their content is laden with irrationality.
You pause, waiting for his protest, but Luffy doesn’t complain. Instead he’s listening intently, dark eyes just as focused on yours, on the drivel coming from your lips and perhaps on deciphering the unspoken code beneath it.
Code that isn’t I don’t want to go with you, but Why would you go through the trouble for someone as bothersome like me?
Perhaps he picks up on the subtext a bit, too smoothly. “Is that all you want?” he asks, finally.
You inhale sharply, and resume your walk.
“Yes. Unless you bring me one of those, I don’t want to talk about ever leaving with you again, Luffy. Don’t even come back to see me.”
Unfazed, Luffy smiles even though you’ve given him a nigh impossible task - in fact, you’re not sure these giant clams exist at all, and it would be a fool’s errand to search for one, but he laughs.
“Deal.”
Leaving the matter as it is, you resume your walk, and at some point Luffy must have taken your hand, because by the time you’ve made it to where you’ll have dinner together (and invariably he’ll clean out your wages for the entire week just in meat), your fingers are interlocked as though they’ve belonged linked the entire time.
—
Luffy leaves the next day, leaving a note that is short and sweet on your kitchen table.
Be back soon.
You figure you’ve possibly seen the last of him in a while and your stomach turns gently at the thought.
—
Three days pass and because your friend Nami hasn’t yelled your ear off by transponder snail, you figure Luffy has dropped the entire ordeal and not wasted his crew’s time by going off track to do something absolutely stupid at your request.
Another three pass and you worry he is stupid enough to try to do it despite being hated by the sea, and you resist the urge to call it off yourself.
But you have to trust that he could understand how you felt.
As impossible as it is for him to do this for you, it’s impossible for you to leave your earthbound life.
—
But ‘impossible’ sits on your nightstand that night.
A perfectly round pearl, as big as your head (bigger even if you were to hold it up and compare the object in a mirror)and polished to an impeccable shine, waits for you, with another note.
You ran out of food. Be back in a moment.
When Luffy comes back, large bags of groceries in hand to restock your empty fridge (even though he’d end up cleaning it out himself that night), he finds you in quiet tears.
Slowly, he lowers himself to the ground, allowing his arms to wrap carefully and gently around your body until you’ve leaned into him fully, your sniffles muffled as you let your face hide pressed against his forearms.
You don’t ask how he did it because the act itself is enough, and he doesn’t speak until you open your mouth first -
- to say “Hi, I missed you,” even if you’re overwhelmed.
Luffy hums in assent, and lets his face nuzzle into your hair further, the simple act asking you again, please come with me without him needing to say it out loud, even if the pearl he’s moved heaven and earth to bring to your doorstep allows him to.
To which your heart, as though you were being proposed to with this very act, finally says yes.
On this year women's day, all we could think about are Palestinian women in Gaza.
Nearly 9,000 women have been killed in Israeli attacks in five months. Another 2,100 are missing and presumed dead, while 23,000 have been wounded and over half a million are displaced.
“Palestinian women, especially in the Gaza Strip, are exposed to the worst humanitarian catastrophe,” Ashraf al-Qudra, the health ministry’s spokesperson, said on Thursday.
Dozens of women and girls have also been detained and face harsh conditions in Israeli custody, including sexual abuse.
Women in Gaza also struggle to find menstruation products and access the necessary pregnancy and post-natal care. The consequences on reproductive health, including a rise in stress-induced miscarriages, stillbirths and premature births, have increased significantly.
Women in labour are undergoing caesarean procedures without anaesthetics, and a shortage of post-operative care such as medication, antibiotics and pain relief further exacerbates the situation.
According to the health ministry, 5,000 women give birth monthly in Gaza under “harsh, unsafe and unhealthy” conditions caused by Israeli bombing and displacement.
There are 60,000 pregnant women in Gaza suffering from “malnutrition, dehydration and lack of medical care.
There have also been repeated cases of Israeli soldiers mocking Palestinian women by posting videos and pictures of themselves rummaging through personal belongings in Gaza homes, making derogatory comments and posing with women’s underwear.
