Long live full of success for the great Fire Lord Zuko
I- I just can’t get over Zuko and his arc. Everything he did - everything - was out of this insane drive to prove everyone wrong, to prove that he was worth something, and it amazes me that he never realized just how valuable he already was.
His sister tells him ‘You waste all your time playing with knives. You’re not even good!’ and he masters dual swords.
His sister is a prodigy and he’s told he’ll never catch up. He learns from dragons. He trains the Avatar. He takes her down (with the help of a very skilled waterbender)
He’s left behind by his mother, cast out by his father, hunted by his sister, and Zuko still learns unconditional love.
His father tells him he’s worthless and unloved, that he was ‘lucky to be born,’ and he becomes a man that the world is proud of.
Anything his family said to him, he managed to turn around and build on it. He thrived on it, exploded from it, turned all the negativity into a positive path and it’s just… it’s amazing.
There’s just no end to my love for this character. No fucking end.
Bonus: The weak, banished prince has fangirls for all the ages. Take that, Ozai.
Queen Hatshepsut of Ancient Egypt. She has a lovely smile for someone who’s been dead for thousands of years.

Hand it over. That thing, your dark soul.
A REALLY GOOD DOGGO SOUL
hey so you know that trope where toga, disguised as bakugo, calls midoriya "izuku" instead of "deku" and is then discovered to be an imposter because of it?
yeah, well, what if she isnt? what if midoriya is just so happy that the person he looked up to for years is finally using his name that he doesnt even question it? what if toga sees a golden opportunity to get close to izuku? what if izuku is just so fucking giddy that he's finally managed to get through to bakugo, that the one person who he always wanted the approval of is finally treating him with something like respect? what if he completely ignores or doesnt notice every red flag, every gap in bakugos memory, every little thing he says that isnt quite right, just because bakugo called him "izuku" in the same breath?
what if he finds bakugo drinking from a cup of blood, and even though it occurs to him that this might be toga, he completely denies that thought because it would mean that a villain treats him nicer than his "childhood friend"? what if instead, he assumes that bakugo just hid this aspect of his quirk because he didn't want to be bullied like izuku was? what if his first response is to offer up his own blood, because bakugo just looks so ashamed and anxious about being caught, and gets all snappy when izuku asks where he's been getting the blood from? what if toga is absolutely fucking delighted with this development, and leaps at the chance? and what if she hugs izuku, and she thanks him, and it's so wildly out of character for bakugo that izuku knows something is wrong but he willingly ignores it because bakugo thanked him?
and then, of course, toga gets caught. maybe aizawa gets a bit reckless with where he flashes his quirk, maybe toga gets careless about who she drinks blood around, who knows. what matters is toga is arrested, and bakugo gets freed from wherever the LoV was hiding him, and izuku is forced to confront the fact that not only did he not notice when his "childhood friend" was replaced by a villain, he helped that villain achieve their goal, and he liked the villain better. he cant even look at bakugo for the first week he's back, but that's okay because most of the class can't either. bakugo feels hurt and bitter and betrayed that no one noticed when he was replaced by a bloodsucking psychopath, and he makes sure everyone knows it. izuku's hurt runs far deeper, and his voice is quiet and cold as ice when he informs bakugo that it's because the villain was more pleasant to be around. bakugo gets even more pissed, but then kaminari makes some quiet comment about how it was nice to have a few weeks without any drama, and he get real quiet. unfortunately, the rest of the class reacts the opposite way, and suddenly everyone is yelling at each other. bakugo's friends defend him, yelling their heads off at the idea that any of them would ever prefer a villain over their friend. izuku's friends point out that for those three weeks that bakugo was gone, izuku didn't go to the nurse's office once. the longest streak he's had since starting UA.
bakugo's friends get quiet, get uncomfortable, and izuku has tears on his face when he asks if it's really so bad that he was happy that someone he respects was finally treating him like a person.
bakugo loses his shit, says it's pathetic that izuku would lick the boots of villain just to get scraps of affection. izuku points out that catering to a villain's every whim was nothing new for him. he'd been doing it for bakugo for years, after all. bakugo swings first. izuku swings harder. they take out a decent chunk of the wall before aizawa comes storming in, only to find both of them beaten and bloody and bruised, screaming their heads off at each other. bakugo feels wronged; he hates deku, but he knows that midoriya is probably the person that knows him best, and he hates the idea that deku just didn't notice. it makes him feel small, weak, inconsequential. he rages that anyone could ever like someone pretending to be him better than the real him, because if he isnt even the best version of himself than how can he be the best of everyone? izuku screams back that bakugo must be delusional if he thinks anyone would ever be upset that one of their classmates stopped hurting and insulting them for a few weeks. he yells that he wished bakugo had never come back, that the villain toga made a better hero than bakugo ever would, and then aizawa yells at all of them to calm the fuck down.
aizawa gets izuku and bakugo to stop yelling, he gets them down to recovery girl's office, and he gets another teacher to watch the rest of 1a, just in case. he sits bakugo and midoriya down to have a calm, rational discussion, hoping to figure out what the issue between them is. neither of them are calm. izuku is exhausted and numb, because he's so used to teachers yelling at him the second he gets into an ounce of trouble that he completely shuts down the second aizawa tries to question him. bakugo is sulking and moody, and every time midoriya says a single word he starts yelling all over again. aizawa has to talk to them separately, but even then bakugo is so emotionally constipated that all he'll say is that midoriya deserved it. izuku stares blankly down at his hands as he quietly admits that he wishes toga had never been discovered, even though he knows that makes him a bad person, because he was just so happy that bakugo finally stopped hurting him. he asks if he's going to be punished. aizawa asks him why he thinks that. izuku says that aizawa always punishes him when bakugo hurts him.
as they talk, aizawa starts to realize just how badly he fucked up by ignoring their shitty relationship. he talks izuku down, lets him know that he's not going to be punished, then goes to sit in his office and tries to figure out what the hell to do about this. it's become abundantly clear that izuku is a victim of bakugo, but bakugo is a victim of the LoV, and whether he likes it or not expelling bakugo right then would practically be a death sentence for the kid. so in the end he switches bakugo to 1b instead, and 1a gets monoma, who is not happy about the situation. bakugo is informed that he is banned from interacting with izuku at all until further notice, but he is allowed to interact with the rest of the class if they want to. and bakugos friends do want to interact with him still, so they meet up during lunch. but even without him, the entirety of 1a is full of tension now. its awkward, its uncomfortable, nobody really knows what to do. bakugos friends are upset that their friend was taken from them. midoriyas friends are upset that it didnt happen sooner.
izuku blames himself, of course, because when doesnt he?
uh yeah thats all i can think of right now. idk how to end this lol ive been thinking of this idea for days now and i really wanted to get it out of my head aghdj
I don’t know what it says about Superman’s opinion of Jimmy Olsen, that it took CONVINCING for him to realise that Jimmy’s mind had been replaced by a gorillas
But
