So, I found tutorials on how to hide things from the catalog that requires manually opening and editing each package using s3pe, but I’ve found a somewhat faster way to do this, whilst keeping the original file unchanged, that I haven’t seen anyone else mention, so thought I’d share (I mean, someone else has almost certainly worked this out before me but I couldn’t find it anywhere). This requires CCMagic, and an understanding of how to make collections using CCMagic (very straightforward), and s3pe. Doing this will mean you can find all the items in collections, but they won’t be clogging up your catalog, eg Misc Decor (I had to do this as my Misc Decor had become so full, it often crashed my game when loading haha).
(This is also possible if you manually merge your CC, but you will have to add them to collections however you do that without CCMagic, I assume in game.)
Now, this is still a rather tedious process, and goddamn if someone could just create a program to do this for us I would die of gratefulness lol. But anyway, it’s still faster than the other method. And hey, maybe this will help someone 😊:

E-lipgloss-GLAZE-131128 (edit)
I really like this glaze by ephemera but the original has lavender undertones that don’t translate well in terms of light colours. I tweaked the .DDS in photoshop and was quite pleased with the result. The top row of photos show the original and the second row is the edit, corresponding colours under its respective partner. This replaces the original and of course, all credit goes to the frighteningly talented ephemera.

thank you so much for your cc you post for the sims 3 community!!!
It’s always a pleasure to share my Custom Content with you guys. The Sims 3 community need more attention, we still alive, we need to support other creators, sharing, replying, sending love to them. Thank you so much for sending me your love ♥️
finally got around to giving ardwen the proper greenhouse she’s always wanted and deserves 😌🌱🌻
So I found this program on my computer: s3rc redux, and decided to run all my packages through it (not mods, poses or sliders). It reduced my CC by 7.5GB without me deleting anything. All items still work so far, although I haven’t checked all functionality.
But if someone wants to reduce their CC easily, then I have uploaded the s3rc here, as the original here is down. Just drag and drop .packages (and sims3packs) onto it :D
But backup just in case!
So you might all realize that skins are probably the biggest files you have in game. This is because they usually contain a load of HQ images.
BUT
Most people don’t know that when using Skininator, you need to “Compact Save” not “Save”. What this does, is if your skintone uses the same image for dark and light, or the same images for teen/YA/A/E, instead of saving the image multiple times, it only saves one copy, and then links to that picture for the rest.
This saves A LOT of space!
So if you wanna quickly reduce CC, then just open all your skins in Skininator one by one, and press “Compact Save”, then open the next. I saved around 2-3GB doing this!
This probably won’t make your game load much faster, but it is still worth it.
I look forward to this every year 🙌🏾

Its starting to be holiday season and I’m so excited. I thought the most PERFECT way to start off the holidays is to do another Spam Week for Fall (which happens to be my favorite season). Unfortunately, it’s always summer in Texas. So fall? We don’t know her.

This couldn’t come at a better time. Thank you soooooo much @simshai91 for sharing, I’ve recently started reorganizing my store items and I was worried that I would have to go back in and get all the Thumbnails for them but you literally saved my life 🤗
PSA for anyone organising their TS3 CC: download Sims 3 Thumbnail Extractor!
I have just downloaded a tool that will save me so much time in my CC re-organisation. Honestly, this just had me staring at my screen and going “Seriously? Holy crap!”
It’s the Sims 3 Thumbnail Extractor by Killc*a at MTS. All you do is leave it at default settings, choose a folder to scan, wait for a few seconds, and it will extract all the THUMB and ICON resources (if both exist within a file, it will extract both) inside everything in that folder. It works on package files and Sims3pack files, and it does it in seconds. (You can also choose individual files if you don’t want everything in an entire folder extracted.)
Prior to this I had been going through each file one at a time, opening it in S3PE, finding the THUMB or ICON files, using the option to open them in Paint, hitting Save As > JPG, typing the first letter of the name and scrolling to find the correct name, hitting the End key to go to the end of the filename so I can backspace out the .package or .sims3pack bit– Well, you get the general idea. Lots of work for one image. All of that work now takes literally seconds with this thing.
The video above will show you just how quickly it works. That folder contains 1,397 package files by LunaSims. To go through them individually would have involved several hours of non-stop work. This program processed them in a couple of seconds.
It managed to do 1,354 out of those files, meaning that 43 of them don’t have THUMB or ICON files, but it’ll be easy to sort those out, load them into my game and take screenshots of them.
My only bugbear is that it saves the images as PNG files, but there are tons of file conversion programs out there that will convert those to JPGs so you can save a bit of space.
(Now all I need is a program that will take the hundreds of extracted package files from a Sims3pack lot [which have gibberish names] and delve inside their XML files to rename the file with the actual item name, so that I don’t have to!)
Various types of self storage is available. Safe deposit boxes (wheel lock, dial/pin code lock or biometric), drop slot postal boxes and shutter rooms.
