A Gempearl, Majorbeans, Shadowrot enemies to lover's band au featuring Imp and Skizz being the only two who know what's up.
Now listen to me talk about this cause the likelihood of me actually writing this is low.
It starts with Gem and the Scott's being a small band that just performs for fun, but over time Gem loses her passion for the band and leaves.
Scott and Impulse still want to perform though so they reach out to two of their mutual friends Pearl and Cleo to make the 4 G's (and Pearl definitely isn't Gems ex)
The 4 G's perform and start to get really popular to the point that they end up opening for a smaller band on tour.
Gem is happy for her friends and not at all salty that her former bandmates got her Ex to join them nope not at all.
And to show off how not Salty she is she decides to get back into music and make her own band (Again).
Gem asks Joel (Who has a known one-sided rivalry with Scott), Lizzie (Who has a grudge against Cleo that is returned but nobody knows what the grudge is about) and Skizz (Impulses bestie and Queer platonic partner who's just here for a fun time) and they form The Family.
The 4 G's are just happy that Gem has her passion back, meanwhile The Family is being ever so slightly passive aggressive to the 4 G's with them often seeking the G's out to brag about how well they're doing.
Then the 4 G’s audition for one of those singing talent comp tv shows like the Voice or X factor so naturally The Family audition as well, both teams make it into the show, which also means that The Family’s grudges (minus Skizzs who keeps hyping up Impulse any chance he gets with Impulse doing the same) gets known.
Nothing stays a secret, Gem and Pearl's past relationship somehow gets out to the fans which confuses them because they swear that Pearl and Gem still flirt, and Pearl follows Gem around like a lost puppy. How are they not dating!?!?
After the finale when it was The Family vs The 4 G’s Pearl and Gem are spotted out on a date having talked some stuff through.
It’s still toxic ‘cause toxic Gem Pearl is the best but it's a type of Toxicity they are fine with and isn’t that all we can ask for? Really they did it to themselves, they thrive off of the rivalry.
People also find out what Cleo and Lizzies grudge is about, during an interview with Lizzie she reveals that in Kindergarten Cleos friend Bigb wanted to play with Lizzie in her fairy fort she made of blocks and Cleo got upset so they knocked over all the blocks.
Both sides hear this and immediately know what's up with those two because seriously? And so, with a little push from the other G’s Cleo does a “How can I make it up to you?” to which Lizzie responds with “Maybe if you buy me a nice dinner I might consider forgiving you,” and so the two start dating like that.
Everyone loves it, Cleo and their whole vibe beside their tiny pink girlfriend.
Joel on the other hand gets angrier and angrier at Scott, and his stupid kindness and his pretty voice and how his stupid hair looks sooooo good in the light they use to perform and how he's actually really good at playing the bass and everything about him!
Everyone immediately clocks on to the fact that Joel has a crush on Scott. They 100% ship them and they may or may not end up making out after one of The Family's performances cause Scott comes up to complement Joel and well Joel's never had much self control.
Meanwhile, Imp and Skizz are living their best lives playing with their friends and pushing them together.
After the competition both bands kinda drop from public face, it was nice being in the limelight like that but they really prefer smaller jigs, plus they don’t want paparazzi in their faces all the time
lizzie is so real for the kindergarten grudge tbh (I've had a grudge since middle school because a kid owes me money)
And Impulse n Skizz sitting back and watching the drama

Part 1
(Demise + Regular skin)
Became a Watcher at the end of Evo after praying to them for help during the series.
Joined Hermitcraft in season 6 but mostly stayed on his own for the first part of the season because of an inferiority complex over the skill difference.
Needed diamonds and sold his services as a singing canary, even.had a whole cage.
Started Demise by accident, tired of everyone saying he died a lot he made it a personal challenge to not die at all, in the end everyone joined in and Demise was the result. Demise 2 was much more planned.
Started Third Life after some insistance from the Watchers... ended up winning the series, no one could believe it.
Rebelled against the mayor of the shopping district in season 7, created the grayscale resistance.
Created a literal rip in reality in season 9 that brought the hermits to another land...how? He doesn't have a good answer for that.
(Crossover + Life series + Regular)
Joined for a short while Hermitcraft season 1 but had to go back to Japan to finish high school and after that some...complications arised.
Joined officially in season 6 where he became part of the NHO.
His eyes used to be smaller but a challenge resulted in him having much bigger eyes.
In the life series he ties his jumper around himself as It's much easier to move around, ends up getting grabbed a lot by it.
Also kinda became a god during the crossover with Empires, just your regular tuesday afternoon.
(Life + Regular)
After a falling out with his brother he end up joining a lot of modded smp's.. From Crazycraft to Kindomcraft to eventually X-life and from there Empires.
Also ended up being MCC's mascot, begged for Hazel Horses to be added as a team.
Had to kill himself to stop his brother Pungence to save his anthropomorphic horse empire...and the rest of Empires too but it was mostly about the horses.
Won Last Life and came second in Double Life... And Third in Limited Life...and Fourth-
Sun theme.
(Secret Life + Third Life + Regular)
All that Scar says by accident he says voluntarily, mostly to Jimmy.
His old server kinda fell apart after a zombie apocalypse, as soon as he escaped the zombie hordes he joined Hermitcraft in season 5 where he joined Convex.
Became the Jangler entirely to mess with Jimmy, they totally did not flirt the whole time.
Used his diplomacy skills to get elected mayor in season 7, made everything extremely colorful.
Sacrificed himself to Jimmy at the end of Third Life... He felt like he owed Jimmy for saving his life and he wanted to get even with him. Jimmy felt like he was cheated out of a chance to have a real win, Double Life ended up being akward.
Got sacrificed a lot to the Boatem Hole in season 8, what can he say? He has a thing for that.
Won Secret Life, everyone was waiting for it considering his general skill at the game, they were more surprised by how long it took.
(Cyberpunk + Regular)
Have you ever wondered how Hermitcraft would be if Scar had learnt redstone instead of Terraforming? Chaos, the answer is chaos.
Has those shoes that light up with colours, It's certainly distracting.
Loves making minigames, especially shooting minigames.
Got backstabbed by Grian in Third Life, he wasn't very happy about it... At least they had Double Life to get better...by messing with everyone else there.
Really good at adapting to the chaos and go with the flow, the natural charisma definitely helps.
Five words: Cyberpunk motorized off-road wheelchair.
I’m just here lol
spanners vibe for me

we usually think of mood as a scale from 1-5, but there's actually a negative scale too, where the frown turns back into a smile, but just a little insane !
so, between the jimmy board game streams and this tommy video, i have discovered that i like grian’s bit of “i am long-suffering and do not want to be here“. because it’s just. a very funny bit. it also clearly only comes out when grian is surrounded by other people who are naturally more chaotic than him. he just transforms from the hermitcraft “teehee i am a knife roomba” to “i am the responsible adult in this room and i am not happy about it”.
Writing mcyt fanfic feels so silly because the names are on a spectrum from "normal human name" to "semi-plausible" to "Sausage"

Next part
Have you ever thought of something in your own worldbuilding that you didn't intentionally plan, but just connect the dots afterwards like "wait, that actually checks out"?
Like in the story of the Book I Am Not Working On, there's the fisher folk. They don't fish, actually, they live in diaspora and nobody really knows why they're called that, anymore. They're more known for their numerous, strict and often seemingly random and nonsensical ritual purity rules, and stereotypically having absurdly large numbers of children. The twist is, they don't actually have more children than any other peoples of the Empire, their purity rules just ensure that they maintain higher levels of physical hygiene in everything to do with childbirth and handling infants - and therefore have a lower infant mortality than other peoples.
The "why do these people have huge families" thing also had another side: Fetishisation. The fisher folk's purity rules also involve no sex outside of marriage, and there's a myth on top of the stereotype that the reason why they seem to have a massive amount of kids is because their husbands are so good in bed that their wives cannot turn them down even if they're 100% done having kids. And since fisher folk do not have sexual relations outside of marriage, no outsider has had enough fisher dick to verify this.
But while they are loyal to partners, they are also polygamous, both ways around. A perfectly normal fisher marriage arrangement may feature a man and his two wives, and his second wife's first husband. One household may cover seven married partners, and all their mutual children. It's considered taboo to pry into which kids are "really" whose, paternity is unknowable and unless you were close enough to the family to know which one of the wives gave birth, the biological mother is none of your business either. Every partner in the marriage is equally a parent to each child born within it.
And this is where my own "wait hold on" comes in. Besides the lower mortality, the illusion of fishers having insane amounts of kids may also partially come from the way their families are structured. If you've just met a group of five people you don't know anything about, and they all claim that they have nine children each, it wouldn't cross your mind that they might all be claiming the same nine children.
man there truly will never be anything like the experience of moon's big again. part of this is that the hermits don't really want to do that again (both for 'they didn't like doing the short season' reasons and for 'audience reaction to the storyline' reasons). part of this is that to some extent that kind of moment only works once. but like. the buildup man. the month of streams and videos. the creeping dread. the moon bunnies. and then the day everyone actually DROPPED their video. bdubs and his unreliable narrator moments. "did you get everything you needed". everything about it. i miss her (the moon crashing into hermitcraft)... i just want her back (the moon crashing into hermitcraft)...
