i like dazai (and bsd in general) so i think i'm biased for long coats-
I think all jackets should be impractically short.

âDid you seriously just slap me?â Second yelps, affronted.
âWhat? Hurt your pride? Didnât know you were that fragile.â Steph taunts, a vicious sort of satisfaction curling her lips upwards.
âOr maybe I didnât expect you to be so damn childish.â Second bites out, and then Steph is narrowly dodging a kick aimed at her knee.
She manages it, somehow. With a cartwheel, even. Sheâs no Nightwing, but all those gymnastics classes werenât for nothing.
She doesnât take any time to celebrate her victory though, because it isnât one, not really.
Second is still here, still in the damn Tower, and still trying to kill her.Â
Steph settles for sticking a batarang through Secondâs embarrassingly ugly and also extremely unarmoured tights. The ensuing red stain doesnât really improve them all that much, but it does make her feel better.
Only slightly. But still better.
Second goes for her jaw again. Steph blocks him. The sheer force of the impact still sends her staggering.Â
She kicks at his head. He dodges.
He feints at her jaw. She falls for it.
He knees her hard in the stomach.
Steph is on the ground again, and this time sheâs gasping for air.
But Second gets another gash in his leg for the trouble.
âYou sure do try, Robin. You even succeed sometimes. Too bad you just canât win.â
Steph gets up again. It isnât easy. Sheâs still panting. Like a dog, she doesnât think.
Second seems content to watch her flounder. He doesnât even see her as a threat, does he?
His mistake, Steph thinks bitterly.Â
She knows, intellectually, that being underestimated is a good thing. Hell, itâs a favorite tactic of hers to weaponize. She likes the faces they make when she wipes the smirks off.
Itâs justâŠ
Steph sometimes wishes that, just once, someone would look at her and understand they were in the presence of something dangerous. Something to take note of. Something to be respected.Â
Steph gets up.
Second blocks the first punch she throws.
