I attended the opening of Brian Harte's exhibition 'To The Harbour Place' at the Molesworth Gallery, 16 Molesworth Street, Dublin 2 tonight. Most memorable, I found were his use of colours, especially blue, yellow and green. His paintings, done in oil on linen, appeared enigmatic. They featured interior scenes with abstracted figures in them.
My favourite painting was 'Heat' with its combination of yellow, red and orange.

I also enjoyed viewing 'Alt (4 Person)' and 'P.Chair' hanging side by side with their complimentary colours.

Both by Brian Harte
Other paintings that I liked were 'Untitled' with its expanse of sky blue and 'M & J' due to sections of yellow and orange.
Untitled by Brian Harte
To my eye, it evoked the sense of a wet day.

The bright warm colours popped out from a black and white background.
Broan's exhibition will run until 11th April 2025.

Just back from the opening of Sinéad Nà Mhaonaigh's exhibition 'Dwelling' at the Kevin Kavanagh Gallery, Chancery Lane, Dub 8. Most of Sinéad's paintings were the same shape and size which gave consistency to her exhibition. My favourite painting was the large yellow one called 'Dweling' because it was cheerful. The venue was busy, the atmosphere lively. Sinéad's exhibition will run until 2nd Mar 2024.

Tonight, I attended the opening of Michael Wann's exhibition 'The Old Grieving Fields' at Solomon Fine Art, Balfe Street, Dublin 2. I enjoyed looking at his many drawings done in charcoal on paper. He had created most of his artworks in a nice compact size from 23 x 30 cm to 70 x 60 cm.
I will discuss my favourite drawings starting with 'Omens/Crows Arriving'. It appeared quite eye-catching with all the passing birds in flight.
Omens/Crows Arriving by Muchael Wann
His 'Controlled Explosion' was the most dramatic image in his exhibition.

I liked his attention to detail in his road images.
The Old Work Road by Michael Wann
The High Bog Road by Michael Wann
A joy to view. Both artworks were small and hung in their own alcove with a third artwork that was similar in dimensions and subject matter.
I found this image to be evocative.
Aerial 3, Night Visions by Michael Wann
It reminded me of a dystopian vision of the future with fires burning in the distance under a dark sky.
Then there was the striking composition of helicopters flying in loose formation.
Recon by Michael Wann
I liked the short title. It added a sense of storytelling to this image.
Michael's exhibition will run until 1st Mar 2025. It was well worth seeing it.

Last night, I attended the opening of Paul Abell’s art exhibition at Rathmines Library. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxed. Paul had already begun to sell his many paintings featuring buildings, boating scenes and landscapes. I particularly loved Paul’s paintings of one or two boats moored on a hazy shoreline which are the biggest sellers. Paul’s exhibition will continue for just today and tomorrow. He hopes to raise €8,000 the Capuchin Day Centre for the Homeless and Mellon Educate, a charity that builds schools in South Africa.Â

Tonight, I attended the opening of Cléa Van der Grijns exhibition 'Orbiva at Solomon Fine Art, Balfe Street, Dublin 2 D02 T802.
Her paintings, mixed media on linen or wood are colorful especially the reds and pinks. My favorite painting was Boschian Lush #2 featuring two hearts or arms.
In 'Boschian Lush #3' which I also loved, I saw the bottom half of a dancer.
Cléa has also created a series of eight digital embroideries including 'Boschian Lush #1', top left.
It was a very enjoyable evening. Well worth the effort of going. Cléa's exhibition will run onto 29th Mar 2025.
