this chapter bringing up lady nagant as a villain too just makes me want to ask... why. why is she a villain? is it because she:
killed people for the heroes/hpsc
killed the person who was threatening her (the hpsc president)
momentarily allied herself with AFO despite hurting no one while taking his orders
because uuuuhhh i can think of another character who has done basically all of these things and yet isn't treated like he's indebted to society. so care to lay it out for me, horikoshi? what is lady nagant's crime?🙃
…I discovered that he, the author at once of my existence and of its unspeakable torments, dared to hope for happiness… envy and bitter indignation filled me with an insatiable thirst for vengeance…
…I had cast off all feeling, subdued all anguish, to riot in the excess of my despair. Evil thenceforth became my good… The completion of my demoniacal design became an insatiable passion…
…dreams of virtue, of fame, and of enjoyment… I was nourished with high thoughts of honour and devotion… But now crime has degraded me beneath the meanest animal. No guilt, no mischief, no malignity, no misery, can be found comparable to mine…
For while I destroyed his hopes, I did not satisfy my own desires… I desired love and fellowship, and I was still spurned. Was there no injustice in this?
Am I to be thought the only criminal, when all humankind sinned against me? …I, the miserable and the abandoned, am an abortion, to be spurned at, and kicked, and trampled on… my blood boils at the recollection of this injustice…
…My work is nearly complete… Do not think that I shall be slow to perform this sacrifice… Soon these burning miseries will be extinct. I shall ascend my funeral pile triumphantly and exult in the agony of the torturing flames…

Talking to your Villain: Deku vs. Shigaraki and Ochako vs. Toga
Questionable method but I typed up all the dialogue spoken out loud in each encounter, from the moment things really start picking up steam to the moment the Villain's heart gets saved. The Heroes are trying to get through to the Villain - how much effort do they put into trying to have a dialogue?
Green is Hero Speaking; Red is Villain Speaking.
Need you note that Deku's 4 lines of green - the longest line he speaks - in the middle of his battle is actually not directed at Shigaraki. He's talking to Nana about smashing Shigaraki's lid. But maybe Shigaraki heard him, idk.
I also took out Tsuyu's speech to Toga. That was a good chunk of 'Hero trying to talk to Villain', and also just a good attempt too from Tsuyu, but we're focusing Ochako and Toga.
cannot stress enough how bad y’all need $3 yellow dish gloves. if ur avoidant about dishes bc you don’t wanna touch wet food or get ur hands wet or dry them out with cleaner like. these will solve all ur problems. only downside is if you have long acrylic nails you’ll need a stronger pair for like $15 so your nails don’t tear em but the function remains the same. u don’t HAVE to touch the old wet food in the drain. we have technology
It makes sense to think nods to Frankenstein such as Dabi doing the monster pose are just generally for the viewers enjoyment but I think it would be funny and also in character if Dabi legitimately read and/or watched Frankenstein and went "oh that's just like me I'm going to make this my whole personality"
