At least 1,773 people remained at hospital mental wards for 50 years or more as of the end of June 2017, despite a Ministry of Heath, Labor and Welfare policy to reduce numbers by moving them to community care, a Mainichi Shimbun survey has found.

Among the patients, their reason for admission was available for 1,291 people. Of them, 811 stayed of their own will, while 476 patients were admitted based on the judgment of an expert doctor and the consent of family members, but without the consent of patients themselves. Four patients were admitted due to legal orders from prefectural governors and others out of concern that the patients could possibly cause harm to others or themselves.

honestly i'd say it's less that it died with twice - i actually think that outside of hawks being a bit of a weak mirror for jin, his death was one of the most well-written and impactful parts of the story, paying proper tribute to jin's development and the core of who he is and what he believes.
where the manga died is when it failed to follow through on the fallout and implications of it all. to take one of, if not thee best, developed character to such a daring fuckin climax and then nothing? fuck all? hawks is just like well he was a nice guy sucks how things went. maybe i should call my mom. whatever dude your mom never should have baby trapped your dad.

I read through the manga for the first time recently (at least what's release in the US bc I prefer physical books to trying to read manga on a screen) and Spinraki kinda grabbed me by the balls ngl. The manga version of mva really sells me on Spinner's growing devotion to Shigaraki at a time where he seemed to be having doubts since it had drifted so far from Stain's ideology. Also gamer bfs playing LoL together and being dorks is just a really sweet thought. 💕
I totally agree with preferring physical copies of the manga over reading digital, it drives my brother crazy lol.
