my blorbos dont deserve romantic relationships. they deserve relationships that are so complex and comfortable that they go beyond the terms romantic and platonic, deserve to be in a relationship thats ambiguous but still gives them the knowledge of where they stand with each other. they deserve to have their lives intertwined with others in a way that no words could ever begin to define it as. and they deserve to feel safe in it.

hey so we put your morally grey character in a fandom. yeah half the fanbase makes them into a perfect angel who did nothing wrong and the other half depicts them as a cartoonishly evil villain who hurts people for fun. no we dont know how to explain that people can do bad things for good reasons or good things for bad reasons. sorry man

poetry and musical theater get similar accusations leveled at them in terms of not being realistic, i.e. “no one fucking talks like that” or “people don’t randomly burst into song in real life” and sometimes i just want to take people by the shoulders and say. there are forms of art that are not aiming for perfect realism. are you capable of handling that
