Another not so great day. Sometimes bad days, unproductive days, days that make you feel sad and lonely, just pile up. Sometimes you have four, five, twelve of them right back to back, and sometimes you have none for months. But regardless of how frequent they are, eventually they'll pass and you'll go back to calm days, to productive days, to happy days.
Positive things I did today:
kept the duolingo Spanish streak going
called my parents
did the laundry
tried baking cookies (and failed horribly)
played minecraft with a friend

My theory about why we so enthusiastically celebrate the Ides of March here on this tumblr dot com is thus:
This site is full of literary and history nerds.
This site loves to be morbid as fuck.
This site is full of people who are very displeased with current politics and would like to achieve a certain catharsis.
That last one I think is the most important, because I remember the days when celebrating the stabbing of Caesar was just nerd shit, but it picked up more and more steam over the years, and I noticed a sudden massive boom in enthusiasm beginning in 2021, undoubtedly on account of the everything that has happened in the past few years.
when you go
would you have the guts to say
i dont love you
i'm just passing the time
saw someone refer to not knowing how to keep track of your money as "girl math" ......why are we in this weird era of treating women like idiots but repackaging it to sound cute and quirky. We All Need To Stop
imagine if you (a neurodivergent) joined a band and then tried to keep it going and made mistakes along the way but generally stayed positive and created a safe space for a ton of people and helped create and perform amazing music and kept with it through breakups and splits and of course you weren’t by any means perfect but then you got older and finally produced another album but it wasn’t what your “fans” were expecting, even though you were really just pursuing a passion and writing songs and you don’t owe anything to the world, but these people still absolutely slandered it to the point that you gave up because that’s what these people who once upon a time adored you now wanted. imagine how broken you would feel

Fleamarket finds.
I went to the fleamarket twice this weekend. Yesterday with some friends (I didn't really find anything worthwhile) and today with my family. I managed to find some CDs and books this time around.
John Green seems to be my fleamarket author, last year I got Paper Towns at the same market.

10% done with the challange!
I finally got to analyzing the poem I wanna write my essay on. I had a blast! I love writing essays and enjoy pretty much every step of the process, but working with primary texts still is my favourite. It reminds me why I decided to study English literature.
I also continued reading All Quiet on the Western Front. I really love this book and should manage to finish it by the end of the week. Maybe I'll check out some of Remarque's other books!
Positive things I did today:
kept the duolingo Spanish streak going
studied at the library
went for a walk
read outside
went to a café to relax after studying
Hours slept: ~9hrs 3mins Screentime: 3hrs 30mins Steps taken: ~6.600
Found this super pretty Picrew!
I thought some of you might like it 🤎🍷🥀

I felt a lot better and stopped taking my meds early. That came to bite me in the butt in the evening, so we're back to the meds :')
I did manage to go on a little walk tho! Motivating myself to go for walks is a lot harder whenever I visit my parents because my home town is located in a very hilly area. The city I live in now is mostly flat (also because it's, well, a city and not a small town) and so simply going out (and staying out longer) is, for some reason, easier to justify in my mind. I do, however, love the nature surrounding my home town, so walks are usually worth the exhaustion.
Positive things I did today:
finished literature review for the Hamilton essay and made a writing plan
went for a walk
Hours slept: ~8hrs Screentime: ~6hrs 30mins Steps taken: ~4.400
