Okay okay so,,, i have been meaning to finish something, i swear!! Have realized I'm better at starting pieces than ever finishing them - a curse. I've got so many fun ideas, i swear,,, literally just hate coloring, so i drag my feet the whole time eep

I may just start trying to post doodles?? Maybe?? See if thats handled well? I dunno, feel like if I post those I'll have even more to judge over style wise, with how inconsistent mine is? Bahh!! Decisions! Maybe I'll take doodle requests for that, though, here and on discord? I kinda wanna show off designs I have for characters without creating a full-fledged shaded piece for them, but we will see?? Sureee!!

PK Headcannons #1:

• PK (and by extension, other higher beings) don’t get sick, nor are they easily hurt. Therefore having a kid who DOES get sick freaks. him. OUT.

• He becomes super paranoid and obsessive to the point he does ridiculous amount of research and never leaves her side until it is actively proven she is healthy again. No matter if it’s as minor as cold or headache. (More because he has absolutely no idea what this potentially fatal phenomenon is rather than basic overprotectiveness.)

• The reason he becomes so obsessive when she gets sick is because—surprise!—mortals can die this way. And he certainly doesn’t want THAT to happen.

• Of course, his ridiculous behavior has become more of a stressor and an annoyance to many, especially Herrah (and hornet in her later years).

•He doesn’t relax about it until she is much older, but even then he doesn’t stay more than one room away from her when she’s under the weather.

• Because of this, Hornet would automatically hide any illness or pain out of habit.

A creature that I think had some wasted potential, with you only seeing them in the pantheons and stuff - literally such a cool concept, the nosk in general, how I wonder what else it could shift into??

Anyways, first time drawing a piece like this, very proud <3333 will try it again, maybe I will even improve my knowledge of backgrounds in general when I do try again - what fun !!

I’ve had this idea in my head for a while; and I’m still extremely surprised that I’m the only person I’ve seen thus far to do vessels stridulating. Come on HK fandom, these are bugs! If they can’t talk normally, let them stridulate instead! XD

(I would have put the stridulating structures on just the cloak, like with cricket wings- but I couldn’t figure out how to pose that and thus went for a more grasshopper-like approach instead, with some of the structures on the proximal/ventral surface of a limb.)

Practice with both shading and art in general - my first properly rendered piece, and it is, of course, a nosk!!
