Made me tear up a bit

hello!!! I’ve never asked for a request before so this is so strange but I love your writing ❤️

I was wondering if you could write something with Zoro X Reader where the reader gets injured badly in a fight and zoro is also too injured to carry her back to the ship. So he has to entrust Sanji to carry her back for him. Maybe there is a light bit of teasing between the two men but ultimately they care about their crew mate more than petty fighting. Hope I explained that well and once again love your work.

Hello!!! I’ve Never Asked For A Request Before So This Is So Strange But I Love Your Writing ❤️

The smoke clears just enough to make out the wreckage of the battlefield. Bodies lie scattered, groaning or out cold. Blood paints the ground, most of it not yours, but the gash across your side is too deep for pride, and you’re only staying upright because Zoro’s shoulder props you up.

“Shit…” you breathe, slumping “That bastard nearly cracked my spine.”

Zoro hisses through clenched teeth “You shouldn’t have taken that hit.”

You try to laugh, but it catches in your throat, half cough, half whimper “Wasn’t trying to. Thought you had my back.”

“I did have your back,” he growls, voice low “He just went through me first.”

You look up. Zoro’s bleeding from the temple, his shirt ripped, a deep fresh cut across his chest. One arm hangs limp at his side. His swords are sheathed, but his breathing’s all wrong. Shaky. Strained.

You know that look.

“Zoro… you can’t carry me.”

“I’m not leaving you here.”

“And I’m not walking. I can’t feel my legs, babe.”

His jaw tightens. You see the war happening in his head. His pride screams to fix it himself, but his body’s failing. You lean your forehead against his, voice soft.

“You gotta call someone to help.”

Zoro’s silent.

Then a voice cuts through the haze like a damn knife.

“Ohhh no. No, no, no. This is bad. This is very bad.”

Sanji.

His boots skid to a stop in the dirt, one sleeve torn, bruises darkening his jaw. He crouches beside you, worry etched across his face “Ma chérie, what the hell happened to you? You’re—you’re—”

“I’m not dying” you murmur, almost amused.

“She’s not dying,” Zoro snaps, shooting Sanji a glare “But she can’t move. I can’t carry her.”

Sanji’s brows shoot up “So you’re actually asking me for help?”

Zoro doesn’t respond. He just glares harder.

“Oh my god,” Sanji gasps theatrically, placing a hand over his heart “Roronoa Zoro, Pirate Hunter, is entrusting me with his precious, injured girlfriend. The world is ending.”

“I will end your world if you drop her.”

You groan, head lolling back “Guys. Not the time.”

Sanji immediately sobers “Right. Sorry.” He leans in, his tone gentler now “This is gonna hurt, but I’ll be careful.”

Zoro grabs his wrist before he touches you “If you get weird, even a little, I’ll know.”

Sanji rolls his eyes, but there’s a flicker of something honest under the dramatics “She’s hurt, moss-for-brains. Not my type when she’s bleeding out.”

You snort despite the pain “Wow. Thanks.”

Zoro lets go of Sanji’s wrist, reluctantly.

Sanji carefully hooks his arms under your knees and back, lifting you with surprising steadiness. You flinch, but he adjusts, murmuring apologies the entire time. You can feel Zoro’s gaze burning into the both of you.

“Hey” you whisper to Zoro, reaching your hand out.

He grabs it instantly, squeezing it tight “I’ll be right behind you.”

Sanji shifts your weight, starting toward the ship “Take your time, mosshead. Wouldn’t want you to collapse on the way and make me carry you too.”

Zoro mutters something under his breath that sounds a lot like “dead chef walking.”

But you hear it too, beneath the insults, under the tension, is trust.

And for now, that’s enough.

“Chopper!”

Sanji’s voice bounces off the twisted trees of the island interior. He cradles you tighter against his chest, eyes scanning for movement “Come on, little reindeer, now’s not the time to play scavenger.”

Zoro limps behind, every step deliberate. He’s pale under the dirt and blood, his knuckles clenched tight. He hasn’t spoken in minutes, not since you stopped answering him.

You groaned once. Then your head lolled against Sanji’s shoulder. And now nothing.

“She’s out cold,” Sanji mutters, almost to himself “Breathing’s shallow. I don’t like this.”

Zoro stops walking “Let me see her.”

Sanji glances back “We don’t have time to switch carriers, dumbass. You can barely stand.”

Zoro doesn’t budge “I said, let me see her.”

Reluctantly, Sanji kneels and shifts your weight slightly so Zoro can crouch beside him. Zoro brushes hair away from your face, his hand trembling just enough to notice.

“Hey. Y/N.” His voice is low now, barely audible “You with me?”

Your eyelids don’t flutter. Your lips are pale.

Sanji watches him, surprised at the way Zoro’s hand lingers on your cheek.

“She’s tougher than she looks,” Sanji offers gently “She’ll pull through.”

“She better,” Zoro mutters, eyes locked on your face “I didn’t fight off three of these monsters just to watch her pass out in the dirt.”

Sanji lets him have a moment before standing again “Let’s move. We’re no good to her like this.”

Zoro stands too, but he’s slower now. His entire right leg is dragging slightly.

“You’re falling apart,” Sanji notes, voice tinged with both sarcasm and concern “Need me to carry you next?”

Zoro snorts “I’d rather be buried.”

“Wouldn't be the first time I carry you... But suit yourself, marimo.”

Sanji adjusts his hold on you again, but more carefully this time. You’re burning up now, your body swinging between chills and heat.

“You’re holding her like she’s made of glass” Zoro points out.

“She is right now,” Sanji snaps “You want me to drop her?”

“You’d be dead before she hit the ground.”

“Romantic,” Sanji mutters “Just say you love her and let’s go.”

Zoro doesn’t answer. His silence says everything.

They stumble into a clearing and Sanji spots Chopper.

“Chopper!” Zoro bellows.

The doctor turns, eyes wide “What happened?! Oh no, oh no—is that blood?”

Sanji doesn’t waste time. He kneels, laying you gently on the nearest blanket “She passed out a few minutes ago. Deep gash on her side. Internal bleeding, maybe. She hasn’t opened her eyes.”

Zoro drops beside you, his whole body stiff with tension “She was conscious right after the fight. Talking. Then she just… went quiet.”

Chopper’s already on it, gloves on, stethoscope out “Stay back, both of you. Let me work.”

Sanji pulls Zoro a few steps back. They both stand in silence for a moment, watching Chopper work with rapid, practiced hands.

“She’s gonna make it,” Sanji says quietly “She has to.”

Zoro glances at him, exhausted “If she doesn’t, I’ll kill you.”

Sanji rolls his eyes “You really know how to make a guy feel comforted.”

Zoro’s lip twitches, and for a second, just a second, Sanji sees something close to gratitude behind his usual scowl.

You stir, faintly, the barest motion of fingers twitching.

Zoro immediately drops to your side “Hey. Hey, hey—look at me.”

Your lips move, dry and cracked “…Zoro?”

He exhales like he’s been holding his breath for an hour “Yeah. I’m here. You fainted like an idiot. Don’t do that again.”

Chopper’s already at your other side “She’s stable now. But she needs rest. And stitches.”

“Ugh,” you murmur “Don’t let Sanji near my stitches.”

“I would never,” Sanji huffs from behind you “Though I was tempted to draw little hearts around the bandages.”

Zoro glares “Try it. I dare you.”

You crack a weak smile “You guys are… the worst.”

But your voice is soft, and your fingers curl weakly around Zoro’s sleeve. And that’s enough to keep him from collapsing himself.

Hello!!! I’ve Never Asked For A Request Before So This Is So Strange But I Love Your Writing ❤️

You dream in flashes. Smoke. Pain. Arms under you. A soft voice murmuring apologies. The scent of cigarette smoke and flour. Something warm against your forehead.

Then everything fades into darkness.

When you wake up, it’s to the low creak of wood, the soft hum of the Sunny rocking beneath you. The room smells like clean linen, alcohol, and the ocean. You’re warm, safe. Your side aches like hell, but your brain is clear enough now to register that you’re alive, and tucked neatly into the infirmary’s bed.

Your fingers twitch. A shadow stirs beside the bed.

Zoro.

He’s slumped in a chair, arms folded across his chest, chin dipped low like he fell asleep mid-glare. One foot taps slightly, and there’s a fresh bandage wrapped around his bicep.

You blink slowly. Then whisper, hoarse, “…Zoro?”

He snaps awake so fast the chair nearly tips backward “You’re up?”

You nod, barely. Your throat’s dry, but you manage, “Feels like I got hit by a sea train.”

“You did,” he grumbles. He leans forward, his hand gripping the edge of the mattress like if he doesn’t hold on, you might disappear “Don’t scare me like that again.”

“You were scared?”

He looks away, cheeks faintly tinged “No.”

You smile weakly.

There’s a long pause. Then you whisper, “Can you… get Sanji?”

Zoro freezes “What?”

“I wanna thank him. I just remember… being carried. He was gentle. He smelled like pastries.” You grin sleepily “Like a knight or something.”

Zoro stares at you. His eye twitches “A knight.”

“Mmhmm. My… chevalier in shining apron.”

“Oh, hell no.”

You giggle weakly, and he scowls even harder.

Zoro mutters something about “damn curly-brow” and “should’ve let me carry her and pass out instead” but he gets up anyway, muttering all the way to the door. He yanks it open and yells down the hall:

“HEY, LOVE-COOK! YOUR DAMN PRINCESS WOKE UP AND WANTS HER SHINING FRENCH-FRIED KNIGHT!”

You wheeze a laugh and immediately regret it as pain lances up your side.

“Ugh—ow. Ow. Okay. Worth it.”

Zoro glares at you “Not funny.”

You grin “A little funny.”

Moments later, Sanji slides into the room with a flourish, one hand to his heart, the other holding a steaming mug of tea.

“Ma belle, you called for your humble rescuer?”

Zoro groans “Kill me.”

Sanji kneels beside your bed dramatically “I brought tea, special blend for pain and recovery. Also, you’re glowing even with dried blood and stitches. How do you do it?”

You take the tea, sipping carefully “Thanks, Sanji. Seriously. I don’t remember much, but I remember you carrying me. You felt safe.”

Sanji softens instantly, all flair dropping “Any time. You’re our crewmate, our family. I’d carry you through a burning building if I had to.”

Zoro mumbles, “Burning kitchen, maybe. Not a building.”

Sanji ignores him.

“Still,” you murmur, “you were… really sweet. Thank you.”

Zoro groans louder “That’s it. I’m throwing myself overboard.”

Sanji smirks “What’s the matter, mosshead? Jealous?”

Zoro doesn’t answer. He just sits back down and crosses his arms, glowering at the wall like it insulted him.

You reach out with a small smile, grabbing his hand. He looks over, still sulking, but your fingers tug his down.

You mouth, thank you.

He doesn’t smile, but his thumb brushes across your knuckles. Just once.

Sanji rises “Alright. I’ll let you two lovebirds bicker in peace. But next time she needs rescuing, I’m bringing rose petals.”

“I’ll bring my swords.”

“Romantic!”

The door clicks shut behind Sanji.

Zoro sighs, muttering, “Chevalier my ass…”

You smile and lean back “You’re still my favorite swordsman.”

He grunts. But his hand never leaves yours.

You watch him in silence until he speaks.

“Still thinking about your chevalier?”

You smile faintly “Still sulking about it?”

He glances at you “I’m not sulking.”

“You’re absolutely sulking.”

He scowls “I just don’t like the way you looked at him in his arms.”

“I was out of it. I don’t even remember much. But something about the way he held me felt safe. And soft. And dumb, and warm. I was so out of it that at some point I even thought for sure it was you.” You smirk “Turns out it was the one who wears suits to jungle battles.”

Zoro huffs “You’re comparing me to that frilly cook?”

You nod slowly, eyes closing for a moment “Mhm.”

Zoro grunts “Tch. Dumb.”

But then he leans forward, and you feel his callused hand brush your arm, slow and deliberate. His voice softens, just a little.

“You scared me, you know.”

You open your eyes again “Yeah?”

“You dropped so fast. One minute, you were teasing me. Next… nothing. Just a dead weight in curly-brow’s arms. I couldn’t do a damn thing.”

His hand closes around yours. Not possessive, just grounded. Steady.

“I thought maybe I’d lost you.”

You shift your fingers to lace with his “You didn’t.”

“I almost did.”

“But you didn’t...” you repeat gently, tugging his hand until he leans a little closer “You were there. Even if you couldn’t carry me, you stayed. That means more to me than anything.”

Zoro stares at you, unreadable. Then, slowly, he leans in and presses his forehead to yours.

For a long, quiet moment, you just breathe each other in.

No bravado. No teasing. Just warmth. Just him.

Eventually, you murmur, “You know… I might ask Sanji to carry me again.”

Zoro pulls back with a look.

You smir “Kidding.”

Zoro shakes his head, standing up with a low groan, but he doesn’t let go of your hand.

“You’re lucky you’re injured,” he mutters “Or I’d drop-kick you off the deck.”

“Romantic” you whisper.

He smirks, just slightly.

Zoro pulls the chair closer to your bedside, sits again, and this time, he doesn’t fold his arms or pretend he’s not watching you sleep.

When your eyes finally drift closed, his hand is still wrapped around yours. Firm. Protective. Unmoving.

Sanji might have carried you.

But Zoro never let go.

Love at First Punch - Various!One-Piece x Reader - Chapter One - Introductions

Love At First Punch - Various!One-Piece X Reader - Chapter One - Introductions

Hello! This is one of my (many) One Piece drabble kind of fics ive had in the ol noggin for a while. Not really any plot, more of a constant theme - Fluff and fun type stuff. Innuendos and flirting. Going to try and update every Monday, Wednesday and Friday :3

________________________________________________

The battlefield was chaos. A typical town-busting bar brawl turned full-blown street fight. It started with a spilled drink, a few insults, and a poorly timed grope that earned some sleazebag a broken nose. But now? Now fists were flying, chairs were breaking, and in the midst of it all—laughing, dodging, and deliberately taking hits—was you.

A particularly large brute swung his meaty fist at you. You could have dodged it easily, but where was the fun in that? You braced, let the impact land square on your cheek, and staggered back with a sharp inhale.

"Oof—" You bit your lip. "That one had some weight to it. Nice."

The man paled. Most people would be on the ground crying, but you? You were smiling. Your eyes were gleaming, breath a little hitched from the pure thrill of it.

"W-what the hell?" he muttered, stepping back as if you were the one to be afraid of.

"Oh, don't stop now," you teased, rolling your shoulders. "You've got a good arm. Ever consider putting that to better use?"

His face twisted in confusion before a chair came flying from the side, narrowly missing you. Someone else in the fight hadn't even been aiming, but that didn't matter. You caught the wooden leg midair and snapped it over your knee, laughing.

That's when you noticed them.

The Straw Hats.

They were at a table on the far side of the tavern, watching the brawl with a mix of amusement and disbelief. The swordsman—Roronoa Zoro—had his arms crossed, looking vaguely entertained but unimpressed. Nami was already rubbing her temples like she wanted no part of this, while Usopp was practically hiding behind Sanji. The cook, meanwhile, had his cigarette hanging from his lips, brows raised in what might have been intrigue.

And then there was Luffy.

His wide, excited grin matched yours. He was enjoying the show.

You winked at him before dodging another sloppy punch and slamming your fist into someone's gut. They folded like a sack of potatoes.

Luffy's grin widened.

"Oi, this one's kinda funny," he said, leaning toward Zoro. "She's just letting them hit her!"

Zoro snorted. "Yeah, and enjoying it way too much."

"Maybe she's just got a lot of endurance," Sanji mused, taking a drag from his cigarette.

"Oh, I've got endurance alright," you purred, catching another punch with your palm. "You wanna test it out?"

Sanji choked. Usopp wheezed. Even Zoro's eyebrow twitched.

Before Sanji could splutter a response, the last guy standing swung a metal pipe at your side. You could have dodged—should have dodged—but instead, you turned into it, letting the impact land with a satisfying thud. You let out a happy laugh.

The room went silent.

Nami dropped her face into her hands. "Oh my god."

Usopp looked traumatized. "Did she just—"

Sanji had gone completely red, somewhere between scandalized and fascinated.

Even Zoro looked like he wasn't sure whether to laugh or leave.

Luffy, though?

He cackled.

"HA! You're weird—I like you!" he said, pointing at you.

You grinned, shaking off the hit like it was nothing. "Oh? Does that mean you'll be buying me dinner first?"

Luffy tilted his head. "Huh?"

Sanji smacked a hand over his eyes. "Please. For the love of all that is holy. Stop talking."

But you only laughed, stretching your arms over your head, feeling the ache settle in. Damn, that had been fun. The last poor guy standing was out cold, and the brawl had fizzled out, people too distracted by your antics to keep throwing punches.

You turned back to the Straw Hats, planting your hands on your hips. "So, what's a crew like yours doing in a place like this?"

Luffy tilted his head, still grinning. "Looking for strong people to join our crew."

"Oh?" Your eyes gleamed. "That so? What's the pay like?"

Luffy blinked. "Uh... food?"

You hummed, pretending to think it over. A pirate crew, a fight-happy captain, and a ship full of interesting people? Oh, this had potential.

"Well," you purred, "if you're willing to give me some test runs first, I might consider it."

Usopp dropped his drink.

Sanji looked ready to either die or propose.

Zoro just sighed. "We're gonna regret this."

Luffy, however, just grinned.

You had a feeling this was the beginning of something very fun.

thank you for really cool work and I hope you can do this!!

hii! thank u sm~ oohh~ thats a great idea, ive decided to put them all together, hope u like it!

What Remains

The Straw Hats survive a Marine superweapon test — but only because you don’t. You made a choice to save them all, and they didn’t see it coming.

Hellooo I Really Like Your Work And Would Like To Request Some Angst

strawhats x platonic gn! reader tags: angst, sfw, ooc, major character death, platonic bonds, grief a/n: this js me trying to write ffs, this is experimental and for fun only, so expect this ffs a bit cringe word count: 1k : 𓏲🐋 ๋࣭  ࣪ ˖✩࿐࿔ 🌊

Hellooo I Really Like Your Work And Would Like To Request Some Angst

Smoke curled upward from the scorched ruins of the Marine testing island. The sky was dim, bleeding orange as the sun tried and failed to burn away the choking clouds.

They found your body beneath the collapsed structure—arms still raised like you were shielding the others even in death.

It wasn’t the injuries that broke them. It was the look on your face.

Peaceful.

Like you knew.

ONE WEEK EARLIER.

"These weapons..." Franky said, examining the diagrams. "They’re worse than anything Vegapunk ever dreamed up. They’re built to erase islands."

“And they’re testing them here?” Nami’s voice trembled with disbelief.

Usopp peered over the map. “That’s not all. Some of this... it’s Poneglyph script. These freaks are mixing history with firepower.”

You didn’t say anything.

You just stared at the map. Quiet. Calm. Like a storm on the horizon no one else had seen yet.

“We have to stop this,” you said.

Of course, everyone agreed.

But none of them saw what you saw. None of them realized the cost yet.

Not even you.

THE BATTLE.

The Straw Hats split into teams. Luffy and Zoro drew the front lines away. Robin sabotaged the comms. Brook and Jinbei distracted the guards. Chopper tended to wounded civilians trying to escape.

You were supposed to go in with Franky and Usopp.

You didn’t.

You slipped away the moment they weren’t looking, whispering your last words to Nami before disappearing into the smoke.

“I trust you. Don’t look back.”

You found the core buried deep underground.

A thrumming vault of seastone and ancient script, glowing with stolen knowledge and raw destruction.

You knew what it meant.

You could read the Poneglyph fragments embedded in the weapons.

You knew what would happen if they were activated.

So you made a choice.

A selfish, irreversible choice.

You overloaded the core.

THE AFTERMATH.

When the blast hit, it carved a crater into the earth.

Luffy felt it first—his scream carried across the island like a cannon blast. “(Y/N)!!”

Franky’s stomach dropped. He bolted toward the smoke, ignoring everything—orders, pain, fire.

Usopp followed. Nami, too. She didn’t even speak. Her Clima-Tact sparked wildly, emotions bleeding into weather.

They dug with bare hands and bleeding fingers.

And finally, they found you.

Still. Burned. Crushed.

But unmistakably you.

And unmistakably gone.

THE SUNNY.

Franky hadn’t spoken in two days.

He sat in the engine room, back turned to everyone, arms blackened with soot and oil. He worked until his hands bled, building gods knew what.

Chopper had tried to check on him. Franky didn’t even look up.

Usopp wandered the deck in silence, eyes red, mouth dry. He hadn’t told a single story since they left the island.

He’d tried. He opened his mouth once to make a joke, and nothing came out.

So he just sat with your grave marker, talking to it like you were there.

And Nami—Nami was broken in a way no one had ever seen.

She didn’t cry loudly. She didn’t scream. She just shut down.

She went days without food. Sat curled in the crow’s nest, staring out to sea, clutching the note you left her in your final moments.

"Don’t look back."

She hated you for it.

She loved you for it.

She never stopped shaking.

NIGHT.

Luffy stood by the railing, his hat pulled low, wind in his face.

Sanji stood beside him in silence.

“You knew they were gonna die,” Luffy said suddenly. His voice wasn’t angry. It was hollow.

Sanji lit a cigarette, fingers shaking. “I knew they weren’t coming back.”

Luffy didn’t answer.

“They saved all of us,” Sanji added after a long pause.

“I didn’t want saving,” Luffy whispered.

Then he turned and walked away.

FRANKY.

The machine he was building exploded.

He didn’t flinch.

Robin found him hours later, crouched beside the wreckage, staring into space.

“They’d have slapped me for this,” he said quietly.

Robin knelt beside him. “For what?”

“For not stopping them.”

“They knew what they were doing.”

“That doesn’t make it easier.”

Robin placed a gentle hand on his shoulder. “It never does.”

USOPP.

He buried the dials you used in a small, unmarked box.

Every trap you helped him design, every gadget you tweaked. Gone. Hidden away like a secret.

“I’m never going to be that brave,” he whispered.

Then he broke.

Ugly, shaking sobs that echoed across the deck.

NAMI.

She didn’t speak for three days.

Then, she found Franky. Slammed him into a wall.

“You let them go alone!” she screamed.

Franky didn’t fight back. “I know.”

“YOU PROMISED—YOU PROMISED ME THEY’D COME BACK—!”

He wrapped his arms around her mid-swing, held her as she sobbed, her fists pounding against his chest until they were too weak to lift.

ONE WEEK LATER.

Luffy called everyone to the deck.

No one knew why.

When they arrived, they found him standing in front of a small, newly-built monument.

A single beam of the destroyed fortress. Carved with your name.

And beneath it—your jacket. Cleaned. Pressed. Folded neatly.

Luffy didn’t speak.

He didn’t need to.

They stood together. Silent.

One by one, they left offerings.

Sanji placed a bottle of sake.

Robin left a single violet flower.

Chopper tied a string of charms around the wood.

Zoro leaned his sword against it for a moment. A quiet nod of respect.

Brook played a low, mournful tune on his violin.

Jinbei lit a lantern and pushed it into the sea.

Usopp placed a small slingshot on the beam.

Franky left a blueprint.

And Nami… Nami placed your note. The last one you ever wrote.

“Don’t look back.”

She whispered, “I’m going to.”

Then she walked away.

.

.

.

They kept your room the way it was.

No one said it aloud—but they all visited.

Nami would sit on your bed when the nightmares came.

Usopp would fix the shelves you always overloaded with junk.

Franky recharged your tools every week, even though you weren’t there to use them.

And Luffy…

Luffy would sit on the figurehead, facing forward, holding your jacket in his lap.

He never cried where anyone could see.

But the jacket was always warm.

As if it still remembered you.

The sun was relentless, high in the sky and blazing down on the Straw Hat Pirates as they anchored off a quiet, deserted island. The crew had been sailing for days, and when Nami spotted the lush green trees and glistening waters, she didn’t need to say anything—Luffy shouted “ISLAND!” and that was all the decision-making necessary.

Everyone dispersed the moment the Sunny touched land. Some went off to gather fruit, others to nap in the shade. You?

You went straight for the water.

Without hesitation.

And without clothes.

“Y/N… ARE YOU—?!” Usopp nearly choked on his spit as you tugged your shirt over your head and kicked off your shoes like you were just shedding sand, not every article of clothing.

“Oh,” you said casually, stepping out of your pants, “It’s too hot for all this. You guys should try it.”

You didn’t wait for a response. You ran, full tilt, into the crystalline ocean and dove in, resurfacing with a pleased sigh and your hair slicked back like some sun-kissed sea nymph. Water glistened on your bare skin as you stretched, completely unbothered by the dozen eyes glued to you from the shore.

“…N-Naked,” Sanji whispered, already nosebleeding from the shadows of the palm trees.

“Wow,” Luffy blinked, “Y/N’s really shiny.”

“Why are you all acting like you’ve never seen a body before?” you called from the water, flipping onto your back, arms lazily sculling the waves. “It’s not a big deal. It’s just skin.”

“It’s your skin!” Sanji wailed, dramatically collapsing into a kneel in the sand. “A vision! A blessing! My pure chef’s heart cannot handle such divine beauty without seasoning—!”

“Calm down, Ero-cook,” Zoro muttered, one eye opening from where he was resting against a rock. He did glance your way, though. For several seconds too long.

Nami snorted from beside Robin. “I mean, they’ve got a point. It’s hot as hell. And Y/N looks like they’re living their best life.”

“Indeed,” Robin added with a serene smile, resting her chin in her hand as she watched you glide through the water like you belonged to it. “They’re quite comfortable in their skin. Admirable.”

Brook practically had hearts in his empty eye sockets. “May I see your—?”

“NO!” the crew yelled in unison.

Meanwhile, Franky and Chopper had wandered back from foraging and both immediately froze at the sight of you.

“SUPERRRRRRR—!!!” Franky yelled, striking a pose that conveniently blocked Chopper’s eyes.

You popped up again, grinning as you waved. “Water’s amazing! Come on in! Clothes optional!”

Sanji was already halfway to stripping when Zoro bodily tackled him into the sand.

“This,” Zoro growled, “is how people get arrested.”

“There’s no laws on this island!” Sanji shouted back, muffled by sand and humiliation.

From the water, you just laughed and floated lazily, sun warming your face, blissfully unbothered by the chaos you'd stirred behind you.

You’d stayed in the water for a while, letting the sun and salt wrap around you like a second skin. Floating, drifting, dipping beneath the surface and emerging like something out of a painter’s daydream. You didn’t even notice the effect it was having on the crew—or, rather, you did.

You just didn’t care.

Eventually, you wandered back toward shore, water droplets cascading down your skin, hair clinging wet and wild around your face. You walked up like it was the most natural thing in the world.

Sanji was sitting with a towel draped over his lap and his face flushed so red he looked ready to combust.

“Ah—! Y/N-swan, p-please! Let me—! At least let me offer you this towel! No—wait—maybe a robe? A curtain? My jacket? My life?!”

You plucked the towel from his trembling hands and wiped your face. “Thanks, Sanji.”

He passed out on the spot.

“Idiot,” Zoro muttered, still watching from beneath the brim of his bandana. His eyes definitely weren't glued to the way water dripped down your spine as you turned.

“Want me to wring my hair out next to you?” you teased.

Zoro blinked. “...I didn’t say anything.”

You smirked.

Nami, fanning herself with a palm leaf, rolled her eyes. “You’re enjoying this way too much.”

“Just being comfortable,” you said with a shrug, tossing the towel over your shoulder and letting the breeze cool your bare skin. “You all can wear clothes if you want. I’m not stopping you.”

Robin giggled softly behind a book she hadn’t turned a page in for ten minutes. “You’re causing more tension than a government bounty.”

Chopper was still hiding behind Franky’s arm, though every now and then he peeked and immediately shrieked, “I’m sorry!! I didn’t mean to look!!”

Usopp had climbed a tree “for lookout duty” and somehow managed to get stuck when his foot wedged into a knot in the trunk—completely coincidental that it gave him a bird’s eye view of you sunbathing on a towel with absolutely nothing on.

Luffy, sitting on a rock and chewing a mango pit, tilted his head. “Hey, Y/N.”

“Yeah, Captain?”

“Why don’t more people just go around like that?”

You stretched, arms over your head, not even blinking. “Dunno. Shame, maybe. Fear. But bodies are just bodies. I don’t have time to be embarrassed about something I was born with.”

Luffy grinned wide. “That’s awesome.”

Sanji, from the ground, mumbled, “I’m in heaven… or hell… definitely dying…”

“Pervert,” Nami muttered, throwing a mango at him.

But you? You just lay back on your towel, soaking in the sun, skin bare and golden, the breeze your only outfit.

And every single Straw Hat had to deal with the fact that you were either going to drive them to madness... or enlightenment.

The sun was dipping low, casting gold over the ocean like it was being poured straight from the sky. The water lapped gently at the shore, peaceful and warm, and the crew had finally stopped pretending they weren’t watching you. Most had just given up.

Nami was tanning. Robin was sipping something suspicious. Zoro had fallen asleep again, arms crossed over his chest like a cryptid. Usopp was pretending to clean his slingshot for the fifth time that hour. And Sanji? Sanji had reached a spiritual plane of nosebleeds and emotional instability.

And there you were—still naked, chest-deep in the surf, laughing your ass off as Luffy waded in up to his knees.

He couldn’t go further. Devil Fruit. Sea = death. But that didn’t stop him from participating in your latest stroke of brilliance.

“Okay, hold still!” Luffy shouted, holding up two seashells—each larger than his hand.

“Luffy, what are you doing?” you said through a giggle, already knowing full well what he was doing.

“You need a costume! It’s like camouflage!” He slapped the shells onto your chest with a sound that could only be described as wet clack.

“They’re not even symmetrical,” you pointed out, raising a brow.

“Yeah, but it’s funny!” he snorted, sticking a tongue out.

“Great,” you grinned, “now I’m mermaid-core.”

Sanji, from the sand, looked like he was about to die. “SHELLS?! SHELLS?!? ON HER DIVINE BODY?! WHO ALLOWED THIS?!”

“Don’t forget the seaweed!” Luffy added, holding up a long, slimy strand with all the grace of a drunk octopus.

“Oh my god,” you said, but you turned around anyway, letting him drape it across your ass like a seaweed sarong. “Am I beautiful yet, Captain?”

“You’re the hottest sea monster I’ve ever seen!” Luffy laughed so hard he almost fell into the water—and had to flail backward onto the beach.

Sanji, on the other hand, was crawling in the sand like he’d just seen the face of a god. “Please… please let me be the seaweed…”

“Back off, perv!” you called, striking a ridiculous pose. “This is haute couture. Luffy and I are revolutionizing fashion!”

“I call it Boob Armor Deluxe,” Luffy shouted proudly.

“Trademarked.”

“I’m putting this in the logbook,” Usopp said, deadpan, “as the moment the crew finally broke.”

Franky had already put on goggles and was sketching blueprints for a new “Seashell Suit Mk. III.”

Robin, as always, was serene. “This is exactly what I expected to happen.”

Sanji staggered to his feet, arms raised to the sky. “I don’t know whether to cry or thank the heavens. But I will paint this from memory.”

“Better memory than your cooking,” Zoro muttered, still half-asleep.

You splashed toward the shore, still wrapped in your seaweed fashion disaster, laughing until your stomach hurt. You flopped down next to Luffy, both of you soaked and glowing in the dying light.

“You know,” you said, grinning at him as he picked a crab out of your hair, “we’d make terrible mermaids.”

“Yeah,” he laughed, “but we make awesome pirates.”
