That ol’ chart of mine makes the rounds online periodically and it drives me crazy because it’s frankly not very good. So, I finally got around to remaking it.
I doubt this will get anywhere near as popular, but I wanted to make it.
Good reference for animation, comics, and for visualizing phonetics!
Thieves stealing important objects from the main characters and then being forced somehow into a found family situation
Saving a character’s life by doing something like taking an arrow/bullet
By losing a bet with a stranger and then teaming up
Gambling with a shifty character and getting really mad at them, only for them to later end up saving the other character’s life
Meeting the other in an arranged marriage and actually liking them (or really, really hating them)
Or having a chaotic dynamic where they irritate each other but they’re equally chaotic, so they become the mischievous duo in the found family
By bickering over the last piece of food at a banquet
Getting hired as a servant or maid, or some other serving position
By accidentally almost killing a character, only for them to join the found family and literally never stop bringing up that first meeting

Since I’ve started using a cane, I’ve noticed a lot of actors & cartoonists aren’t sure how to depict characters with them! Here’s a simple cheat sheet to help with the basics/standard use.
i made an expression meme!!! but for pain/angst because i’ve only seen one or two of those! please credit me if you repost, do not trace please! tag all art appropriately if possible.
Check out my ongoing comic Crow Time. It has crows, and also neat pantheons of epic beasties.

Soap: Hey, does anyone have scissors?
Reader: Yeah, take this
Soap: Woah it’s a real swiss army knife, cool!
[Later]
Ghost: Anyone have some pliers?
Reader: Yep.
[Later]
Gaz: Fuck, I can’t read that shit, it’s so tiny…
Reader: Take this
Gaz: A magnifying glass?? Damn what kind of knife is that?
Reader: A swiss army knife.
[Later, AGAIN]
Captain Price: Anyone has some tweezers?
Reader: Uh-uh
Price: Thanks.
Soap: This is getting ridiculous
[Later]
Kate: Sorry folks, no drinks for us I guess, I can’t open this bottle
Reader: Lemme have it
Soap: A corkscrew too?!
[Later]
Reader, frowning:
Gaz: Do you have something stuck in your teeth?
Reader: Yeah
Gaz: I can get you a tooth pick later
Reader: Nah, I’m good thanks.
Soap: …
[Later]
Price: I can’t see a bloody thing anymore, I think we have to stay here over night, I can’t fix the engine like this
Reader: I can shine my flashlight on it and you continue?
Price: Okay
Soap: Where did you- no, I don’t wanna ask.
Reader: You already know.
[Later]
Ghost: Is it just me or is it getting colder in here?
Reader: It’s currently 21° celsius, yesterday it was 23°
Soap: HOW THE FUCK DO YOU HAVE A THERMOMETER IN YOUR KNIFE-
Reader: Like I said, it’s swiss made. And I also have a ruler, a screwdriver, a can opener, a nail file, a nail clippe-
Soap, covering his ears: Lalalala, I CAN’T HEAR YOU
Since the discussion of commenting on ao3 (or really any creative work) is going around, just a reminder that your comments don't have to be this pristine pinnacle of human joy. You can just say "i want to eat this art" "i want this carved into my ribcage" etc etc. The intense and strange genuineness carries through - we understand that it moved you so deeply that you are experiencing a visceral love for it
And you don't even have to say that!! You can literally just be like "<3" "i love this" "beautiful" etc etc. The fact you took a brief moment out of your day to comment at all means so much more than you can imagine
So yeah comment on shit that makes you happy or moves you in some way
wouldn't gliding be faster? || leoon || minor || i make art and i now play genshin ;D
