... About military things from a soldier :)
Pt.1 / ?: Guns
You wanna write a story with a militaristic setting, like CoD or R6S? And you wanna have action, but you've got no clue about guns and gunfights and don't know where to start?
Well, lucky for you or not I know what that feels like and I've also got the combat / real life experience to help ya out!
Feel free to hop in my askbox or dm's and ask questions. I'll gladly elaborate and do my best to answer in full and plenty.
Happy writing y'all! :)
So, first of all: Guns are heavy. As in multiple kilogramms heavy. A loaded rifle can easily weigh anywhere between 3 - 5kg. Handguns can be between 900gr - 2kg. The exact weight depends on the gun itself and wether it's loaded or not. A gun w a full magazine is obvs gonna weigh more than a gun without.
Second of all: Despite what you see in video games, you do not just pull the trigger and blast your whole magazine at the enemy. It takes seconds to empty a rifle but gunfights can last for hours - hence why soldiers are trained to count their shots and only shoot in salves.
Third of all: If a soldier ever gets to the point where they gotta pick up rifles found on the ground cause they're either outta ammo or lost theirs... They're probably fucked.
Fourth of all: Soldiers know their weapons. They know the exact type, the name, how to dis- and reassemble it in under a minute, gloves on and eyes closed. We know everything we could possibly know about our gun, down to the exact number of how much it weighs. And yes, we gotta take our gun apart and thoroughly clean it after every. Single. Use.
Fifth of all: Do not - and I repeat - do not shoot towards the sky. That bullet you just shot will come down somewhere (gravity n all) and no one can predict where and what damage it'll possibly do upon impact.

This is sort of a weird question but do you have any tips on writing a college essay? I feel so stuck with mine and it’s frustrating me to no end 😭😭
It's super dependant upon what you're writing about, my friend. Is it an argumentative essay? Expository? Persuasive? There needs to be a structure and a plan for every paragraph. My biggest problem was not planning my essays structure.
You have the intro, sure but what the fuck are you gonna open with? You wanna put your topic sentence in there. Explain exactly what the fuck this is about and what you're going to discuss and HOW.
Number each paragraph and write down what you want that paragraph to be focusing on.
It'd called outlining your essay and here's a good link on how to do it.
Once you have your outline, it's about filling in the blanks with pretty words. Like drawing a picture, doing all the line work and all you have to do now is colour it in. No matter how many times you fuck up, you still have that line work.
That's how I got through my essay writing anyway.
this is why I do creative writing instead 😂 essays suck aaaaassss
feel free to send a character (can be your oc!) and a number and i might doodle them in my free time!
you can use this for yourself too idc!!
So, I have been learning languages for a while now, and one of the things I have always been struggling with is having a space that could gather all the info I need, the spreads I used to make on my bullet journal, and maybe even something more.
Notion has become my best friend all over the last couple of years, but as I am a pretty sick perfectionist, I am still mastering the art of creating efficient templates, but I am slowly overcoming this problem of mine… In the meantime enjoy my favorite YouTube videos all about Notion x Language Learning:

I'm going to hell for this HAHAHAHAHAHA, the first clip of the video about Alejandro made me laugh.
I’ll be honest here. I’m sort of new to fanfic writing and was wondering if you had any tips. Literally at all. Anything would be greatly appreciated but horror advice especially. Thanks <3
(Love ur writing Bee-tee-dubs. My inspo ✨)
Hmmm horror advice. Heres my best attempt at tips?
-over describing things. Really really adding in descriptions that are vaguely unsettling, like how something creaks or how the characters heart is beating so fast it hurts or how their hands are shaking against their shirt, something like that. Get into the moment
-small passing details especially ^^ maybe of how something doesnt look right or how the character has a very bad feeling about their location. A slight touch on "but it doesnt look/feel Right or there is something Very Wrong" makes people go "ohoho that is fucked up"
- dialogue-wise, I'd say imagine yourself in a horrible panicked situation and go with whatever you'd ramble there. That's how I get my dialogue. I go "ok so if i was getting chased by some unseen horror in a forest what would i be saying/feeling" and then i write it down
That's like the best I got tbh writing horror is fun but man I rly do just wing it and hope for the best
made some versions of the agony grip for my friends for when the whole gang gets it . including different levels depending on the anguish
and a joyous one for when there is love abound
“Those poor boys”
“She deserves to be punished too.”
“I’m not saying I support rape, but-”
“Sorry to say - she deserved it.”
“She put herself in harm’s way”
“But if she was fingered, then that’s not rape.”
“She ruined their lives.”
*sighs dreamily* what is Wrong with him
