idea: we all know who loves to be the little spoon.

this blurb popped into my head randomly in the middle of the day so lemme get it out while i work on other fics.

as soon as you heard the door open you knew he was finally home. you stayed up as you always do to watch him fight whatever villains decided to stumble upon his path. you didn’t have school the following day so you didn’t mind pulling an all nighter. just as long as you knew he was okay you were at peace.

he stumbled through the apartment and opened the door. he was dressed in the tracksuit you bought him for his birthday. he had been complaining he needed a plain black tracksuit because his old one got burned up after a work incident.

you sit up and the sheets fall before you. he drags his body to the bed and lands face first into the mattress. you giggle at the motion. you reach over to grab his legs and pull them up on the bed. he groans and you roll your eyes.

you grab the covers and put it over his nearly lifeless body. you lie back down on your side and look at him.

“well hello ground zero” you snicker and he groans back in response. you stick your hand out and push his blonde strands back. his face has been permanently set into a grimace and you shake your head. he’s going to get early onset wrinkles if he keeps this up.

his face is towards you so you smooth out the lines between his eyes and he relaxes his features. you comb through his hair and get closer to him.

“saw you fighting today. you handled it very efficiently pro hero” you tell him sweetly and he opens one eye.

“when am i not efficient?” he scoffs and you giggle. you place a kiss on his nose. it crinkles and you glide your thumb across the shell of his ear.

“always the cocky one suki” you tell him and he smirks.

“say it again” he says and you chuckle. you move and climb over him so that you rest on top of him and he groans.

“what are you doing?” he asks. you wrap your arms around his torso. you kiss his hair and hold onto him tightly.

“nothing just hugging you” he kisses his teeth.

“suki” you whisper in his ear and he can feel the hair on his arms stand.

“yeah?” he answers back and you plant kisses onto his shoulder.

“you’re my wittle spoon” you coo at him.

“ahh” he absolutely hates it whenever you use your baby voice on him. he finds it disturbing how high your voice can go. he doesn’t understand why babies interact with it.

“cut it out i’m tired” he complains and you smile.

“i know, i just like bothering you” you cuddle into the side of his head and close your eyes, breathing in his smell. in all honesty he smells his best whenever he’s fresh off of fighting against a villain. his sweat always ends up smelling like burnt sugar and it satisfies your senses.

“fuck this” he grumbles and manoeuvres your body so that your back to lying down on the bed. he moves over so that he’s lying on your chest. you thread your fingers through his hair and he snuggles into your chest.

“come on, say it” you tell him but he shows no reaction.

“say it suki” you tell him again and he groans.

he mumbles something and you ask him for clarification.

“fuck off” you giggle to yourself and pinch his ear.

“oi what the fuck was that for?” he asks you and lifts his head. his eyebrows are furrowed as his typical annoyed look sets on his face.

“say it” you comb his hair up and behind his ears and he rolls his eyes again.

“if you don’t say it i’m going to bed” you threaten him and he squints his gaze at you. you wouldn’t.

he continues to stare you down for a couple of more seconds before you live up to your word. you push his body up off of you and scoot over to your side of the bed. you roll over onto your side, one arm beneath your pillow and the other over it and you shut your eyes.

you can hear the shuffling of sheets on the bed before his big ass head is pushing its way through your arms. his head is snug in between your hold.

you don’t open your eyes and he kisses your inner arms to grab your attention. you refuse to give into him and he contemplates the words that are floating in his head for a moment. he gives in knowing the the pay off is much greater than the cold shoulder you’re giving him right now. he’s been fighting bad guys all night, he wants some comfort. he should be man enough to admit it by now he thinks to himself.

“i am” he mumbles onto your skin. you smell like coconut, must be that new cream you’ve been using. he smelled it on your body just two nights ago and he’s been meaning to compliment you about it. he marks it in the back of his mind for later.

you pop one eye open to see him facing away from you, your chest to his back.

“you’re what?” you ask him after a few minutes of silence.

“im your.....little spoon” he whispers the second half and you can kind of tell what he’s saying from the way his mouth moves against your arm.

“cant hear you” you say as you torture the answer out from his mouth. you love teasing him but he hardly gives in this easily.

“i said, i’m your little spoon. there you happy?” he grumbles and you can just tell that the lines between his eyebrows have returned. you smile behind him and move so that your arm is on his torso. you squeeze his fit body back into yours.

“yes, very” you press chaste kisses on his neck and bite the shell of his ear.

“tch” he fronts like he’s annoyed but you just know his chest is warm and fuzzy from your affection.

“it’s good to have you home, my number hero” he can’t help the blood that rushes towards his face, he can feel the heat spread out around his cheeks. he grabs your leg and hooks it over his hip so that you’re properly wrapped around him like a big spoon usually would be.

he closes his eyes and snuggles into your warm, loving embrace.

“good to be home” he says as he threads his fingers through yours and holds your intertwined hands against his chest.
