"Mankind is dead.
Blood is fuel.
And Hell is full."
Here it stood. One lowly machine in the center of Heresy, scanning the red sky for any sign of life only to snuff it out.
Without chaos, blood, war... V1 would be nothing. All purpose would be gone. So it does only what it knows to do. Kill.
It's yellow lense quickly pierced the view of a Filth wandering aimlessly. If it didn't have a gun it could've easily decapitated the poor thing with just it's gaze. The machine wasted no time in slaughtering him, leaving nothing but bloody waste of the armless creature.
There wasn't much left but these Filth in Hell now. The only reason this old machine stays within Heresy is because this is where it fought Gabriel. Only the right hand man of God was a fulfilling fight to it. Something deep, something primal was triggered during their battles.
It's been searching ever since for that same primal feeling. You can only do so much with what little life is left in Hell. Yet it creates more. Only keeping the engines running and the chaos ever flowing, simply for it's own sick enjoyment.
V1 wanted to go back to the chaos of war, but all it could do was feed off the little crumbs Hell would give it to keep it alive just a little bit longer. Never dying, but never living. Nothing to satisfy that longing for battle, for showers of bloodshed to power it's prowess. All it could do now, amongst the blazing red silence was repeat the simple phrase in it's code.
"Mankind is dead.
Blood is fuel.
And Hell is full."
