Breakup Pasta: Sammy's Version Part One

Breakup Pasta: Sammy's Version Part One

Good morning, afternoon, or evening to anyone reading my post! Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read my blog.

This evening, I made dinner for my family, and tried a new recipe: Breakup Taco Pasta(TLC)!

First, what is Breakup Taco Pasta(TLC)? First and foremost, it is "a tasty meal" that had "the opposite effect of 'Marry Me Chicken'", according to TLC. It is not Big Ed's original creation, but it is a popular weeknight dinner, as it is easy to make, tasty, filling, and relatively inexpensive. Many chefs, food bloggers, and home cooks have created and written recipes for their versions of it, as has Big Ed.

Next, why did TLC call it "Breakup Taco Pasta"(TLC)? According to Food Network, "In episode six[of 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After?] (“The Itsy Bitsy Liar”), Ed reveals that at a dinner with his family, Liz and her daughter Ryleigh, Liz “blew up” because Ed had made Ryleigh’s taco pasta “too spicy.” Days after the fight, Ed tells his sister that he has decided to cancel the wedding, but has not yet told Liz, days before their would-be ceremony. Liz learns of this news from a text message from their officiant, saying “how sorry he was that the wedding was called off.”(Wong).

Third, why was it so spicy? To start off, the formula for Taco Pasta: Big Ed's Version is 1.5 pounds of ground beef, seasoned with taco seasoning, 1 onion, 1 bell pepper of any color, 3 Roma tomatoes, 1 clove of minced garlic, a pinch of salt, a dash of pepper, 1 packet of spicy ranch seasoning, 2 cartons of beef broth, an unspecified amount of cheese, and an unspecified amount of any pasta(though there are rumors that Big Ed used Top Ramen noodles). (TLC)

Lastly, how do you make it? According to TLC, you first heat up a large skillet, then add the beef, vegetables, and seasonings, and cook until browned. Once you have browned the beef and vegetables, add the beef broth, pasta, and cheese, and let everything simmer, stirring regularly, until the pasta is fully cooked. Once everything is fully cooked, serve.(TLC)

Would you try Taco Pasta: Big Ed's Version? Please let me know in your reply or reblog of my post.

Thank you for taking the time out of your day or night to read my post, and have a good day or night.

I don’t usually make posts like this, but I’ve been seeing a lot of anti-intellectual junk lately, and I really think we need to put the word “pretentious” up on a shelf until people learn what it actually means.

It doesn’t describe someone who likes artsy-fartsy deep meaning media. People who are pretentious are fake. They’re posers trying to be sophisticated and unique, not like other girls. They pretend to only like stuff they think will make them sound cool when they talk about it. They want to act like they know something you don’t, and they want attention for it.

By definition, if you genuinely enjoy something, you can’t be pretentious. If it resonates with you, and you analyze it, and you don’t care what people think, that’s the polar opposite, actually. If you love obscure experimental prog music, if you watch underground high concept indie films through English teacher eyes, if you spend hours in a modern art museum reading each piece as a vessel for storytelling, if your backpack’s full of poetry books that inspire you, if you play underrated games that were someone’s passion project, if you have an interest in studying the classics or the masters, you are not pretentious.

Of course, some people just don’t like some stuff, and that’s fine, but that’s not what this is about. Don’t let anti-intellectuals shame you for enjoying things just because your interests are inaccessible to them, because they refuse to be brave and put effort into critical thinking. You’re not stuck up for refusing to overlook the craft of artists.

Encanto Characters and their Yellowstone Counterparts: Part 2

Good morning, afternoon, or evening.

Thank you for taking the time out of your day or night to ready my post.

As a warning, this is a long post.

A couple months, I made a blog post about how similar Encanto and Yellowstone are. Here is the post:

Encanto Characters and their Yellowstone Counterparts: Part 1
Tumblr
Good morning, afternoon, or evening to anyone reading my post. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to ready this. Recently, @embe

First, thank you @embermc for the initial comparison.

Moving along, in each post about Encanto characters and their Yellowstone counterparts, I will compare three characters per post.

John Dutton and Abuela Alma Madrigal

Encanto Characters And Their Yellowstone Counterparts: Part 2
Encanto Characters And Their Yellowstone Counterparts: Part 2

They are both heads of their families and small towns.

Beth Dutton and Pepa Madrigal

Encanto Characters And Their Yellowstone Counterparts: Part 2
Encanto Characters And Their Yellowstone Counterparts: Part 2

This one I found to be the most obvious. Not only do they look alike, but they both tend to be moody and feisty.

Rip Wheeler and Felix Matrigal

Encanto Characters And Their Yellowstone Counterparts: Part 2
Encanto Characters And Their Yellowstone Counterparts: Part 2

They are both chill guys who are happily married to feisty gals.

That's all for now. Stay tuned for part 3!

Thank you for taking the time to read my post. Have a good day or night.

So true!

Yellowstone is basically the plot of Encanto but instead of magic and dance numbers it’s got cowboys and politics

I did not state that you said that Kim Jong Un was a saint.

I really think people have forgotten just how bad things were under the Trump Administration. Literally every day there was news about some service being cut or someone terrible appointed somewhere they shouldn't be or what have you. He constantly flirted with WW3 and military dictatorship. It was such a blur of badness that there aren't big standouts for people to point to to make him "the XYZ president." it was everything. all the time. Why do we not remember this.

Mirabel & Vanellope

Good morning, afternoon, or evening to anyone reading this!

My boyfriend and I have added to our Disney Descendants multi-crossover AU.

In addition to our original characters, we have established a timeline for the AU, and changed up the backstories of canon characters, one example being Vanellope Von Schweetz.

In our Disney Descendants AU, Vanellope Von Schweetz is actually Vanessa Madrigal, as she is Mirabel Madrigal's daughter. "Vanellope Von Schweetz" is her screen name. She was born right between Belle and the Beast's wedding and the formation of Auradon, making her, according to the timeline of our AU, three-and-a-half years older than Prince/King Ben(her exact date of birth is November 27, 1995) . She is one of a set of triplets, and she has two brothers. I will elaborate about them in another post.

She is one of the very first graduates/alumni of Auradon Prep(Class of 2014). At the time of the Descendants franchise, she is in university, studying mechanical engineering.

I will provide details of the events of the Wreck It Ralph movies in our AU in another post.

Thank you for reading my post and have a nice day or night!

Crossover Ships: Encanto

Good morning, afternoon, or evening to anyone reading this post.

When it comes to the 2021 movie Encanto, I have been a fan of it since I watched the movie in February of 2022. As such, I have been reading and writing fanfiction about it.

Crossover Ships: Encanto

Key players in fandoms and fanfiction are ships and crossovers, especially crossover ships. Often, people ship two characters from different works/fandoms because they are very similar to each other. Some examples related to Encanto include Isabela and Elsa and Mirabel and Hiro, which are my two favorite Encanto crossover ships.

Thank you for taking the time out of your morning, afternoon, or evening to read my post. Have a good day or night!

Fandoms and Armchair Psychology: Part 1

Good morning, afternoon, or evening to anyone reading.

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read my post.

For context, I have been reading fanfiction, and therefore observing fandoms since 2019. Over the past five years, I have noticed that many fans have been making headcanons about characters' psychology, despite not presenting any qualifications and/or considering the context.

I have noticed that this phenomenon is very prevalent in the Encanto and 90 day fiance fandoms, but I have seen it in many others.

What do you think?

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read my post, and have a great day or night.

Aunt!Yelena x niece!reader headcanons

masterlist

a/n: here’s the second one !! writing auntie Yelena has to be one of my favourite things ever :))

You do not have my permission to repost, copy or translate my work

 |——————————— ⴵ ———————————|

Auntie Yelena who was more than ecstatic to meet you when she first heard about you. She was totally overjoyed when she found out that Natasha was adopting a baby girl

Auntie Yelena who spoiled you with gifts ever since you were a baby. Natasha had once tried telling her to stop because her house simply couldn’t take much more stuff, but after she saw the joy it brought Yelena she had given up trying to stop her

Auntie Yelena who always stole you out of Natasha’s arms when she came over. She always wanted to hold you. After Natasha would put you down for a nap Yelena would sneak into your room and hold you while you slept. Natasha caught her once but decided not to say anything. She adored watching her sister love her daughter so much

Auntie Yelena who took you with her when she went to adopt a dog at the shelter. She valued your opinion more than anyone else's

Auntie Yelena who, when she came over, always brought you a gift from whatever place she had been to then. She was always travelling, and her favourite thing was bringing something with her for you

Auntie Yelena who ‘accidentally’ taught you multiple curse words, enjoying Natasha’s face when you blurted one out. Obviously you didn’t know what they meant. All you knew was that your auntie Yelena would laugh when you said ‘fuck,’ and you took great pride in being able to make your auntie ‘Lena laugh

Auntie Yelena who, when you got older, would take you on little road trips around the city. She would simply show up in front of the house and demand Natasha to lend you to her for a couple of hours

Auntie Yelena who made the best hot chocolates for you when you felt down, and who would make the best mac and cheese when you were sad

Auntie Yelena who didn’t hesitate to drop anything and everything when you called her while upset, and who would fly or drive to you in a heartbeat if you needed her

Auntie Yelena who loved that you loved her so much. Ever since you were a baby you always wanted to sit in her lap and play with her, and when you grew up you still wanted to hang out with her whenever you could

Auntie Yelena who scolded Alexei when he made fun of you once, claiming he was fat and mean and had no right insulting you with whatever he insulted you with

Auntie Yelena who broke your trust only once, and that was when she called Natasha while you were being bullied in school. Natasha had comforted you while Yelena went on a little house visit and nearly made the poor girl piss herself from fear

Auntie Yelena who was the sweetest person you had ever met, yet made people fear her with a simple glare

Auntie Yelena who, despite your age, took you to build a bear when you turned 16. She helped you pick out a soft, adorable bear and when you got to the dressing bit she had basically forced you to give it a small black widow outfit

Auntie Yelena who always supported whatever hobby you started, making sure you had plenty of supplies in stock. If you ran out of something she would know before you did, making sure you were restocked before you started another project and missed something

Auntie Yelena who, in the end, loved you more than she loved herself

Thanks for the analysis. I was in no way shape or form trying to compare them. I was just pointing out that while the girls are great characters, they are not to be idolized. As a correction, I was wrong about Dolores. She is fine, and idk if anyone in the fandom actually idolizes her.

Controversial Post

Good morning, afternoon, or evening to those reading this.

This will be a controversial post, so please grab your pitchforks and hold on to your keyboards.

Many people like to point out fictional characters that many viewers idolize, despite the creators pointing out that said characters are not good role models. The most mentioned characters are Don Draper from Mad Men, Walter White from Breaking Bad, and The Joker from Joker.

However, movies and TV shows about middle-aged men are not the only sources of media that feature characters who are poor role models but receive a lot of worship from fandoms.(please excuse my use of passive voice). Many Disney films and TV shows, which are typically about high school and college-aged girls, feature main or supporting characters who are poor role models but are idolized by their fandoms. These are broad statements, so I will not name names. I am solely generalizing.

This was inspired by @dani-luminae 's post comparing Mal Bertha and Elsa of Arendelle. I recently re-blogged the post.

The majority of the featured characters are from films, but a few are from TV shows and TV movies. If you would like to add any more, please do so by replying or re-blogging.

At the top of my head, I have listed Mal and Audrey from the Descendants franchise.

Controversial Post

Next, jumping to the Encanto fandom is Isabela Madrigal and maybe(emphasizing maybe) Dolores Madrigal.

Controversial Post

So much collateral damage. Thankfully this scene takes place in a small town(nothing against small towns. I am from a small town myself), and if it took place in an urban area, the scene would look like the aftermath of an Avengers movie.

Controversial Post

Lastly, since this post is getting too long, is another magical big sister, Elsa of Arendelle from Frozen(Same w/ the girlies from Encanto above: being a bad sister, plus, and mainly, collateral damage).

Controversial Post

Yes, all of the ladies I mentioned above are b*d*ss*s, and do display some positive personality traits and engage in prosocial behaviors. However, despite that, they are not good role models in universe, as IRL, they would be felons, and their family members and friends may limit contact with them.

There is nothing wrong with sympathizing with any of the characters above. There is nothing wrong with relating to the characters above. There is nothing wrong with liking the characters above. However, you can sympathize with, relate to, or even like the characters above while simultaneously recognizing them as poor role models in universe and IRL.

Thank you for taking the time out of your day or night to read my very controversial post, and please be kind and polite in your replies and re-blogs.

To anyone who read my entire blog post, and have a great day or night.
