There are many things that I can cry over when it comes to this scene, but for now I want to focus on this specific detail. It hurts so much that you can see how touched starved this boy is, as soon as he felt Pope’s arms wrapped around him, he leaned into his touch, and dropped the champagne bottle he was holding to touch pope’s bicep, and it’s so delicate like he doesn’t want to hurt anything he holds.

Ok but the colours? The lighting? The framing of the shot with JJ’s hand just tenderly resting on Pope’s cheek? JJ saying trust someone else for once in your life? Pope gazing back at him in shock? Them both just standing there unable to look away?

Were we not supposed to read this scene as romantic???
