Snack time with Ibe and Max πβοΈπ₯€
Another amazing art from Banana Fish (supervising) anime director Ayumi Yamada (ε±±η° ζ©)
She replied to a comment that, after this (meaning after dropping the hotdogs), Max gets really angry and goes shopping again (laughs). And also that heβll probably get yelled at.
We can probably imagine whoβll yell at himπ

"You hath thit o' your fath," Ash mutters through his sandwich, unlocking their hands and scooting backwards half a foot for good measure. (It'll take just short of a miracle to accept he's worthy of Eiji. Baby steps.) "Say that again?" A bewildered smile replaces Eiji's sympathetic one. Ash leans over again to wipe his sticky thumb on Eiji's bare collarbone. "You had shit on your face."
In which Ash attempts to cope with a heatwave and a crush.
he is SO in love with Eiji its insane.
Preorders are over, so I can post my entire Banana Fish draw for:

So, the original ending was supposed to be this shot where Hori sensei and Minato's mother find them near the rail tracks and call them and both Minato and Yori look back and stare into the camera.
The director, Hirozaku Kore-eda also mentioned that while making the film, the idea was that the boys survive the storm and run off free of judgement.
Here's some Ash and Eiji matching icons. I tried bringing out the colors on the clearest copy of this photo. βοΈ
Wish I'd have someone to pair it with, that'd be swell gshsbs.
Eiji responding with "Forever." after Ash asked him to stay with him and specifically said, "I won't ask for forever."
"Even if the whole world is against you, I'm always on your side."
"For you, I would do anything!"
Eiji was so IN so committed to being with Ash and it's like.... do you think he had any idea of what that meant to him??? like Ash, who never expected anything from anyone. Whose entire life was filled with people (men specifically) who used him for his body, their own perverse gratifications, or whose loyalty to him was contingent on him being a boss. Like we all know how smart Ash is, he knows his time as boss and leader is fleeting, and at any moment someone could come along and take him from the top, and thus take the loyalty of his crew with him. He knows Dino only sees him as an object someone to use and mold to his purposes. He knows his entire world is fake.
And then here comes Eiji, who from day one sees him for what he is and just accepts and cares for him as Him.
Banana Fish again
