Holy shit I am looking!! Am I looking respectfully? Hell no, I'm looking at him like this:
Okay, here's a hot and wet Merlin for your enjoyment. 😏
(Just forget about the context of the actual scene...😅)
My Epic the Musical obsession has been violently reawakened after the Vengeance Saga, and I felt the need to make this:
"John Wick brutally murdered everyone who broke into his home and killed his pet, and everyone in the audience cheers him on. But when I, Polyphemus, do the same, I am called a 'monster who killed a beloved character'. What a double standard!"
Back on my "Merlin is symbolized by butterflies in the finale, but specifically a species that feeds on corpses because his rebirth and the completion of his character arc are intrinsically tied to Arthur's death" bullshit.
Just for fun, here's a comparison between the purple emperor butterfly (a species that will feed on carrion) and Merlin's butterfly in the finale:
Now, am I reading too far into this? Absolutely. But will the symbolism haunt me for months anyways? Definitely.
So just a typical tuesday
I'd definitely watch that, but I would want to know if the writers would give Uther a weird amount of sexual tension with young Gaius (or maybe young Balinor). Because there was SOME past there, and I'm honestly kinda scared to find out lol!
Prequel idea:
In a land of chaos and a time of dragons, the fate of a great Kingdom, rests on the shoulders of a young man. His name?
Uther
(a series in five seasons)
Another thought on Epic the Musical, do you want to know one detail that kills me every time?
If you look at the titles of the songs, the ONLY songs that are named after characters are songs that are named after monsters that are trying to slaughter as many people as possible (like Polyphemus, Scylla, and Charybdis). No human character or even any god gets a song named after them, only the monsters do.
But (MINOR SPOILER AHEAD), do you know what song 38 is titled? Odysseus.
Odysseus, the man made monster, who has become something so far from his own humanity that he is counted within the ranks of the terrible monsters that came earlier in the story. Odysseus, who will absolutely be trying to slaughter as many suitors as possible when he returns to Ithaca.
It's such a small detail, but it gets me every time I think about it! Because not only has Odysseus become a monster in the eyes of the other characters, but he has become one in the eyes of THE VERY MUSICAL ITSELF!
AHHHHHHHHH!!!
Hey, which one of you leaked my search history?!
sexy knights. sexy wounded knights. sexy wounded weary knights. sexy wounded weary knights in the rain. sexy wounded weary knights in the rain pledging their loyalty to you.
I had a lot of fun working with Griffon on this fic! I had a blast writing the identity shenanigans between Merlin and Emrys!
A big thank you to my beta reader, Sage_Owl on Ao3, and to the reverse bang mods for organizing this event! :D
Author: @ramblings-of-a-chaotic-neutral Arthis: @griffonskies Rating: Teen and Up Pairing: Merlin/Arthur Summary:
“Merlin, do you know this fiend? Has he threatened you into allowing him to take your appearance somehow?!” “Yes, I do know him, but he hasn’t stolen my appearance or anything of the like. It is, technically, his face too.” Arthur’s brows furrowed with confusion. What was Merlin going on about now? “This really wasn’t the introduction I would have liked, but I guess it’s too late for that now. Everyone, I’d like you all to meet my twin brother, Emrys.” ~ After a ritual gone wrong, Merlin's soul is split into two different bodies: one with magic and one without. And because destiny apparently had it out for him, the knights catch both of them in the same place. Without any better explanation, Merlin blurts out the only believable lie that he can think of: that the two identical Merlins are twin brothers.

Merlin's arms strain with the effort of hauling Arthur, barely-conscious, towards the misty shores of Avalon. It takes little more than his presence to call the Sidhe forth from their sanctuary in the lake, but Arthur groans with both pain and shock as their winged blue forms fly out of the water.
"You must save him! I am willing to give up my own life, but he must live!"
Arthur weakly struggled in Merlin's supportive arms, protesting Merlin's plan now that it had become clear that Merlin was set on self-sacrifice.
Hovering above the gleaming surface if the lake, one Sidhe gave Merlin a sharp, almost menacing, grin.
"While we cannot take your life to exchange for his, Emrys, there is another sacrifice you can make that would save your king."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Arthur gently places a young tree that's barely tall enough to brush against his knees into a prepared spot in the center of the royal gardens.
There are no tears on his face, for he ran out of those long ago.
"I hope you like the view from here, Merlin. I think you'll be able to see out over all of Camelot in a couple years."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The knights watched as Arthur viciously pulls out the axes that had been stuck in the tree's trunk and had carved a large gouge in its base. Arthur whirled around at them, and many, including his closest companions on the round table, flinched back at his near-feral expression.
Arthur's eyes locked into the spy responsible for this.
"Anyone who so much as touches this tree pays for their transgression with their head."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"So you can perform the spell, then?"
"We can, your majesty, but only with the proper materials. A blade bearing the lifeblood of 300 men and 3 dragon scales are not easy to come by."
Arthur leans forward from where he's sitting on his throne, his eyes wild in a way that disturbingly reminds the druid delegation of the look in Uther Pendragon's eyes as he hunted down every living creature with a hint of magic.
"Do not concern yourselves with that. I will gather these materials for you. Just make sure that you can perform the ritual successfully when the time comes."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Two pairs of eyes, the owners of which both believed themselves to be dead moments before, blink open to the same sunny morning. An unforgettable morning that they had both lived through before, many years prior.
This was, after all, the morning that their destiny was set into motion.

I hope you enjoyed this! I tried to write some scenes that are implied in larluce's au, but are never directly shown, so that you aren't spoiled for many scenes in the au!
Check out the time travel au here! (You should definitely go read it right now because it's awesome!!)
Regarding the archeologist!merlin AU I’d love to see it on AO3, and while I’m a big fan of angst I’d love to read either direction the story takes. I’m just wondering if maybe you could include the translation in brackets or something throughout the text? Scrolling back and forth kind of takes me out of it, but I totally get it if you prefer the stories as is! Thanks for sharing it to begin with!
Hi! I've gotten some feedback on putting the translations at the bottom, and I've decided that I will put the translations throughout the text when I put this au on ao3. This au was my first time working with dialogue in other languages, so I was a little lost on where to put the translations to begin with 😅. Thank you for your feedback and your patience! 😊
Oh, I like this!! I am devouring this au idea like it's popcorn!
What if the reverse situation is also true? What if little Merlin grows up with a shadow that always has a cape and sword, that always tries to physically attack anything that threatens Merlin, and it can somehow attack people and animals by attacking their shadows.
So, when Merlin and Arthur meet each other, neither comments on the other's oddly shaped shadow, nor how they both feel inexplicably connected to the other's shadow, almost as if the shadow is as familiar as their own should be.
It takes Merlin very little time to realize that Arthur's shadow is actually his own, connected to Arthur due to their shared destinies, while it takes Arthur quite a bit of time to recognize why the silhouette of Merlin's shadow seems so oddly familiar.
But, Arthur does strike up a bizarre companionship with Merlin's shadow once he realizes that it protects Merlin from bandits and magical creatures. Arthur is also intrigued at the combat possibilities that the existence of this shadow warrior presents, especially after he witnesses it slaying an unkillable creature of magic by slicing off the head of its shadow.
Merlin, meanwhile, simply commiserates with Arthur's shadow at how hard it is to keep the prat alive.
I love it!
Concept:
Imagine Merlin had been Arthur's actual shadow. I'm speaking shadow shadow. Like, Arthur keeps talking to his literal shadow that has a different shape than it should have.
His shadow has magic. The darker it is, the more powerful it becomes. When Arthur was younger, he would sleep with candles on next to his bed. Then he'd realise that his shadow is really kind.
The older they get, the more protective his shadow is. Arthur named him Merlin.
Lmao, I based this on an a post about zombies but I realised... I painted this before!!!! It's literally the cover for the Merlin's magic one Shot collection on wattpad.
... I sort of forgot
The funny thing is... I based this picture on a foto of a pinterest dude who fotographed his own shadow but it had flowers as eyes. Dandelions I believe.
A great selection of my incoherent thoughts!AO3 Link: https://archiveofourown.org/users/ChaoticNeutral01/pseuds/ChaoticNeutral01
