the twins' relationship is one of the most interesting i've ever read. yeah they can't stand each other but they keep close anyways, they don't understand each other very well but they've killed for each other. they are assholes to each other but they will protect each other from others. they hate each other but there's so much love and resentment and maybe in another universe they grow up side by side and nothing bad ever happened to them.

instead of working on my thesis i just started reading beartown after i saw a really cool quote from the last book

I feel like the raven king would’ve gone differently if someone had bothered to ask Neil why riko knew about his mother. like they all thought he was estranged from his parents but the last straw for the riko roast was literally him saying he’s a coward just like his mother? WHY DID NO ONE ASK
