What Notes Are You Reading That Make You Feel Calm?

Pokerating Day 20! Heatmor!

Charm: Kinda just ugly as much as I hate to say it. It looks like a fast food advertisement sign. It's also notably bald, and the weird tubes just look gross. They look like its internals have externaled. It also makes a room smell burnt just by being there. I think this is an actual 0/10. You can't even watch it's natural feeding habits cause trust me when I say you don't wanna raise a supply of durant just to feed this thing, and even if you DID it would just be it sticking its snout in an ant hole and breathing through its ass.

Care: More difficult than its worth. Not only is their natural wild food really difficult to culture (and, honestly, a more interesting pokemon), but they're also picky eaters. They tend to just incinerate food they don't want. It was very recently discovered that they're particularly picky about texture, and that boiled egg is a good way to get around that, but that means having a consistent supply of eggs which is fairly difficult in some places. It also needs them cooked, since if it tries to cook it the egg will probably pop. 3/10? Sounds like a reasonable enough score.

Safety: It's presence is enough to set off smoke alarms, and it can easily light your shit on fire by just licking it. It also has bigass claws and a fairly grumpy attitude. 3/10 carbon monoxide poisonings.

Utility: Good for removing durant populations. Like any other fire type. Can learn dig, cut, and rock smash. Mid. Not even good for a fire type's typical utility IMO. It's like 4 1/2' tall, just go catch almost any smaller fire type and I bet it can do the same without being so difficult to keep. 4/10.

Battle: This is a poor pokemon for battling. Lets go over the positives first, wide moveset, and a decent ability in flash fire. Now the negatives: it's in that perfect speed range to be too slow to outspeed much, yet too fast for trick room. It's also pretty frail with a poor defensive type, and has nowhere near enough oomph to actually hit hard with the wide array of moves it can use. It also takes increased stealth rocks damage. 2/10, there are definitely worse pokemon out there but for a fully evolved pokemon this thing is just so mediocre than any other fire type is better in some way.

Final Score:

Charm: 0/10

Care: 3/10

Safety: 3/10

Utility: 4/10

Battle: 2/10

Total Score: 12/50

Pet Score: 6/30

Battle score: 6/20

Notes: I feel bad bashing on this thing but it really just has no good qualities. Its a moderately disturbing (and ugly) pokemon that I would prefer to never see again.

Again, this rating is inherently biased just like every other thing made by any organism ever concieved, so if you love this thing? Good on you. I respect you for finding joy somewhere where I can't. Don't let my words change your opinions and stay you!

Were you aware that you can give your Pokémon a little kissy? As a treat?

He tends to be isolated and repeat the same routine daily, including housekeeping and care tasks for … anyone? No one in particular? Making poultices and bandages and preparing cups for medication and the like.

We’ve been trying to encourage him and his little oddish pal to do other things- they both enjoyed gardening with my grandpa in the past, or fishing… but it’s really just the same caretaking routine every day.

He’s also reluctant to eat or drink much? He has a little chansey mobile he drives around with, but that’s about all he does for fun. Otherwise he just kind of sits on the couch and… waits.

Background: Chief was a medic in the pokewars of yore and belonged to my grandpa. He’s in my care now as my grandpa isn’t able to care for him. He’s not distrustful of humans really, more so he sees them all as in his care and can’t seem to submit himself to their care. He’s been pretty isolated and is mourning my grandmother and the loss of company of my grandpa/ loss of caretaking for him since he is in my families care now.

He’d be willing to do an in person appointment, I’m not sure how you feel bout those. I know you mentioned stigma and disliking it as such, so I’d suspect not.
