“So if none of what’s happening in this program is real, and it is all staged, then why do they call it a ‘reality show’?” Taehyung cutely scrunched up his nose at the television screen, an episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians playing in the background as you both laid in your bed.

“Because it follows their real lives… more or less.” You chuckled at the adorably confused expression on his face. He sat at the top of your bed, leaning back against the headboard with his legs stretched out in front of him, while you hung closer to the foot, your knees pulled up to your chest and arms wrapped around your legs.

“But what are these people famous for?” He asked the quintessential Kardashian question, and you let out a deep sigh, shaking your head.

“You’re not going to understand it.” You softly snorted, picking up the remote to change the channel to something easier for Taehyung and his old soul to follow. “Let’s just watch Friends.”

You put on a random episode of the well-known sitcom, stifling a yawn, and resting your head drowsily atop your knees. It was getting kind of late, and after the near-fiasco that introducing your two groups of friends had been today, you were in desperate need of a good night’s rest.

“Are you tired?” Taehyung asked you, noting your slumped-over state. You limply nodded your head in response, watching lazily as he shuffled in his spot on the bed, making room for you to lay beside him amongst the pillows. “Come lie down. You should get some sleep.”

You stared over your shoulder at him for a long moment; he looked undeniably good right now, even in just a shirt and pajama shorts, and you couldn’t help but feel your stomach flutter a bit at the prospect of getting closer to him. You’d invited him in here to cuddle with you, but you hadn’t quite worked up the nerve to do it yet.

Swallowing your nerves, you offered him a small smile and a gentle nod in response, crawling up towards him from your place at the end of the bed. When you reached him, he easily pushed the blankets aside to let you in and helped you get yourself settled underneath them before he finally laid down to join you. Sprawling out on his back beside you, he casually spread his arm behind the pillow where your head rested, and the small gesture had your pulse quickening.

He was close enough now that you could smell his sweet, comforting scent, and though he had left a respectful distance between you two, you found yourself unable to settle down. You kept wiggling around, unable to find a comfortable position, and noticing the way you just couldn’t seem to stop fidgeting, it was Taehyung who made the first move; he inched closer until the warm skin of his arm brushed yours, reaching out to gently lift your head and place it to rest upon his chest, making your cheeks flush.

“This used to help you fall asleep… back then,” he quietly murmured, holding you against him. “You liked to listen to the sound of my heart.”

You pondered his words, deciding to give it a shot, and you let your eyes fall shut, trying to focus only on the sound of Taehyung’s steadily pounding heart. The pace of it was consistent and calming, the thumping rhythm filling your ears and reminding you that he was right here, and that he wasn’t going anywhere—it made you feel safe—and when you opened your eyes again, there was a subtle smile upon your lips.

“Thank you,” you whispered to him, sweetly nuzzling your head closer into his warm chest.

“Go to sleep, Darling,” he absentmindedly told you, his eyes trained on the tv. He leaned down, pressing a tender kiss to your forehead as if he had done so a million times before, and the soft action instantly triggered a memory within you, playing over in your mind like a movie scene.

“Go to sleep, Darling,” Taehyung affectionately chastised you from the other side of the bed, letting out an amused chortle at your antics.

“How am I meant to fall asleep? We’re married now, Taehyung! Isn’t it entirely exciting?” You gawked at him with wonder in your eyes, still high from your wedding festivities that day.

“Entirely,” he agreed with an easy smile, “but how can you not be tired out from all of that excitement, Darling? Not to mention after our… post-wedding activities.” There was a cheeky smirk upon his lips when he spoke of what had transpired between the two of you just before this conversation, and you averted your eyes in shyness as you realized he was still shirtless.

“Well, I didn’t exactly mind those.” Your cheeks flooded with heat at the mere mention of your passion. The two of you had scarcely made it through your nuptials before you and your new husband were ripping one another’s clothes off all the way to the bed. “Let’s do it again,” You suddenly suggested as an attempt to distract him, slyly trying to wriggle your way on top of him, but he easily caught you by the shoulders, settling you back down against the mattress.

“Go to sleep, Darling,” he repeated more firmly this time, gently tucking you under the covers.

“But I can’t.” You frowned up at him. “What if I wake up and this was all a dream?” There was an anxious sadness behind your small voice.

“Come here.” He sighed, holding his arms open as if waiting for you to crawl into them, which you eagerly did. He placed your head against his bare chest, holding you close so that you could hear the hum of his pulse. “Do you hear that?” he asked you. “It’s the sound of my heart… As long as it is beating, I shall never leave your side.” He vowed. His sweet promise made you feel warm inside—loved—and you knew you loved him just as much.

“Never?” you repeated back to him, gazing up at him with wide eyes that held only trust.

“Never.” He confidently confirmed. “So go to sleep and rest well, my love.” He brought his warm lips to the skin of your forehead, leaving a loving kiss there, and you sighed in content.

“All right,” you coalesced to his wishes at last, snuggling more tightly against into his body, and listening close to the soothing sound of his heartbeat until you finally drifted off to sleep.

“Y/N?” The sound of Taehyung’s deep voice summoned you back to the present, noticing the vacant expression that had settled across your face. You blinked a few times, reorienting yourself in the moment, and looked up at him.

“Did you just call me Darling?” you immediately questioned, quirking an intrigued brow his way.

“Oh… I guess I did.” He seemed a bit flustered; he clearly hadn’t meant to call you so fondly like that, but to be honest, you hadn’t really minded it. “Force of habit, I suppose,” he said, studying you with a bittersweet smile on his lips. “What is it?” he asked you when he realized you were still staring at him with a curious expression.

“Nothing.” You shook your head to yourself with a secret smile, deciding to keep what you saw to yourself. “I’m glad you’re here,” you told him, reaching up to shyly wrap your arms around his broad torso while your chin rested on his chest.

“Oh,” he replied with a proud grin you couldn’t see. “Then I’ll stay right here,” he promised you, reaching his arms behind your back to squeeze you tightly. His hand stroked through your hair, a strangely familiar gesture that filled you with a sense of ease. “Goodnight, Y/N,” he whispered, his warm lips ghosting over the shell of your ear.

“Goodnight, Taehyung,” you whispered back, closing your eyes, and letting the thrum of his steady heartbeat lull you to sleep once again.

Hi friends! I hope you are all staying safe and healthy during these tough times! I really wanted to put something out there as a thank you to just how much support Bitchin’ got. You guys really are incredible. So, although this story has come to an end, I wanted to properly close the Bitchin’ chapter by giving you all a behind the scenes look at Bitchin’ and everything that went into writing it. This includes hidden easter eggs, backstories, alternative plot-lines, and a short drabble of the Bitchin’ cast 10 years after the story’s end.
