(not That) Unpopular Opinion: Neil Degrasse Tyson Is Overrated.

(not that) unpopular opinion: neil degrasse tyson is overrated.

popular opinion: elon musk is overrated.

opinion: brian cox is great

fact: the planetary parade is going to happen friday 28th (England time) and it wont happen again until 2040 approx!!!

Unpopular or not, Tyson’s style isn’t for everyone. His focus tends to be on simplifying complex ideas for mass appeal, which can make them feel less substantial when compared to other scientists who delve deeper. I do think he has a knack for bringing attention to space, though.

Musk, on the other hand, I think his overhyped persona doesn’t always match the actual impact of his ventures. There’s a difference between innovative ideas and being celebrated for the spectacle of it all. The focus often seems more on the ‘idea’ of progress rather than actual tangible steps.

Brian Cox, though, I do like. He makes astrophysics easier to grasp without dumbing it down. I really appreciate the clarity he brings.

As for the planetary parade, I’m actually looking forward to it as well !. It’s not every day you get to see such a rare alignment.

The largest known star, UY Scuti, is around 1,700 times the size of our Sun. If you could replace the Sun with UY Scuti, it would extend far beyond the orbit of Jupiter. It is fascinating to think about the scale of space. And yet, UY Scuti is not the most massive star; it’s simply the largest in terms of volume. The actual mass of the star is estimated to be only 30 times that of the Sun, which is relatively small for such a large star.

Also, in case you’re wondering, it’s located in the constellation of Scutum, around 9,500 light years away. So, even if we had the technology to travel at the speed of light, it would take us nearly 10,000 years to get there. That’s about 1,000 lifetimes.

I thought that was interesting.

OOC: Have you ever written fanfic with Adam?? You rp him in a way that expresses his emotions and autism really well without infantilizing him or making him unfeeling and robotic, which is something I tend to see (they probably don't mean it in a harmful way, just misunderstood the character) and it's perfect! I really enjoy the way he's portrayed on this page, and I think the way you write in general is very pleasing

OOC: My god, this made me so happy to hear <3

I always try my best to immerse myself in his headspace.

And to answer your question—I’ve actually never really written fanfiction. Well, that’s not entirely true, because I kind of did with my girlfriend years ago 😭 (lol). I do write a lot, but I’ve never really put anything out there.

I have been thinking about maybe posting something on AO3 (may I be protected from the writer’s curse), but my biggest struggle is coming up with a storyline. Once I have a rough idea of where the story is going, I can fill in the details and start writing—but starting from scratch is kind of tough for me.

So if you have any ideas you’d like to see, please feel free to share! I’d love to take any suggestions into consideration.

Hey Adam! Congrats on the new job and move to Baltimore. I think a change of scenery from the noise and excitement of NYC will be a bit less chaotic.

As a reminder, I'm here for ya. I know I'm not involved, not trying to be, but I'm here. People shouldn't pity you. But they also shouldn't walk all over you. I'm proud of you for setting those boundaries.

Never compromise your wellbeing, ever.

Hello,

Thank you for your message.I mean that sincerely. I think you’re right about the noise. New York has been too much for me ever since my Dad died, though I got used to the overstimulation. Or I thought I did.

Baltimore will be different. Not necessarily quieter, but..slower, maybe. Which might be good for me.

I appreciate the sentiment. I understand your concern. But sometimes things appear different from the outside. I’m doing what feels manageable for me at the moment. And that has to be enough, doesn’t it?

Still—thank you, again.

Hi Adam :3 Opinion On Raccoons

hi adam :3 opinion on raccoons

My opinion on raccoons? I like them.

They have highly dexterous front paws with five fingers, which allow them to open latches and even solve simple puzzles. Their problem-solving skills are comparable to primates.

I also think that they look cute.

Assuming you don’t have Alzheimer’s disease, you must either been intoxicated or unwell.

If it’s the latter, you should see a specialist; if it’s the former, I’d suggest minimizing your substance intake.

I hope that helps!.

I don’t like the filter Beth put on this picture, but the squirrel was fascinating.

The idea of infinite universes is intriguing, but the concept of a “supply chain of galaxies” and the possibility of infinite versions of a person seems to contradict some principles of physics.

If the universe is truly infinite, there could be countless galaxies and planets some potentially similar to ours. But the way the laws of physics work suggests that even if multiple universes existed, they wouldn’t necessarily be identical or follow the same rules. The possibility of infinite “Hannibals” searching for the same “Will” seems more like a thought experiment than something grounded in observable reality.

I wonder if this is something more people have considered. If parallel universes exist, then how many versions of any of us might be out there? There’s still much we don’t know about the universe

If the universe is unending in its supply chain of galaxies and there are infinite possibilities for more of these universes, that means there are infinite potential Hannibal’s all searching for one specific Will.

How does that make you feel?

That would imply that Hannibal is obsessed with me. Mixed feelings.

Nothing feels real anymore.

EVERBODY always lies to me and I am stuck feeling like an idiot because I care about honesty. Why does nobody ever mean what they say? What even is the point in saying anything then?.
