Got my shelves built and painted and my comix printed, folded, stapled, neatly packaged & ready for @shortrunseattle on Saturday!

Working on a painting for the 1st time in like 6 months.

A practice in reducing values and colors to geometric shapes. Also using open acrylics, which stay wet longer. It does feel more like oil painting!

I’m impressed by the vibrancy of the color compared to the transparency of the paint.

I don’t know if the tumblr app is still doing that stupid thing where image posts are done as “jpeg within a text post” format, which looks incredibly ugly and bypasses the formatting I did for my tumblr theme.

I turn 30 this year. I am freed from the burden of giving a shit about being cool. 

1. Kids! Don’t smoke! Do as I say and not as I do.

2. Because I intend to become a therapist, I want to maintain some distance between my artwork and my future career. If you know me in real life, I ask that you respect that.

3. This tumblr is flagged as NSFW (hello underage tumblr bloggers, I see you, please stop that) but I will be moving any sexually explicit artwork and/or artwork involving bodily harm to a separate blog. That said, I do a fair amount of artwork involving nude figures and body horror imagery. Nonsexual, non blood-and-guts nudes and body horror images WILL STAY ON THIS BLOG. I try to tag pretty comprehensively, but let me know if I miss something.

I'm calling this one done, aside from getting some varnish for it. I really need to get better light bulbs. Natural light makes such a difference.
