Masterpost for the complete series of poems so far, designed to aid learning for beginning witches. Most are theory, and a one or two are conceptual. The reason for this masterpost is that they’re all poorly tagged

If there is something you would be willing to see in poetry form, send me an ask or drop me a message! As of 10/3/17, I am all out and no more are queued.
So I got asked how I made my helmet, so I decided to make an actual separate tutorial instead of just a few progress shots!
Materials:
EVA Foam
Packing or Painter’s Tape
Tin Foil
Cardstock (optional)
Okay, so first, I took a huge sheet of tinfoil and covered my head, leaving my face out:
then I covered the foil with tape, again leaving my face clear:
I then drew the basic pattern shapes onto the tape:
(again for clarity)
After, I CAREFULLY slipped it off, and cut along the lines. I cut a slit near the top of the side piece so I would know where to dart it on the foam:
I traced these onto cardstock to smooth and even the cuts I made:
I used these the trace onto my EVA, and cut those out. I made sure to cut the edges that meet along a diagonal after I cut the pieces out so that it would bend without showing the seam:
after that I just used hot glue to attach everything together, added superglue along the seams, sanded once dry, and cut the detail piece out of thin craft foam from the pattern i already made:
Paint it to your liking, et voilà!!

Things that have been bothering me #327: how do solarpunk and lunar punk societies deal with their dead? Are the people of floating cities set adrift in the ocean? Cremation takes a lot of energy and embalming can damage the environment, and eventually we run out of space to bury people. On top of that, would they even want people being buried, away from the sun and the moon?? Or would something like sky burial or the towers of silence be more practical to them? Who tends to their dead, and what stigma does that have? What does a solar or lunar punk funeral look like? What are their mourning traditions? Are they afraid of death? THESE ARE THINGS I NEED TO KNOW

I love how they say bird egg, like there might be the slight chance that you might use a dinosaur egg.
Difficulty: Easy-ish, it’s easier if you’ve made fried rice before, 20-ish minutes, serves 1
Ingredients:
1 cup White Rice
1 green onion
1 egg
Salt
¼ tsp. Crushed Red Pepper flakes, more or less depending on your spice level
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp rice wine vinegar
½ tsp sesame oil
oil for frying
Prepare your rice. I’m using a rice cooker, so wash your rice, measure the right amount of water, and set it to cook. Cool completely before using. Leftover rice also works for this.
Thinly slice up your green onion. Set aside. In a separate bowl, mix the soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, sesame oil, salt, and red pepper flakes.
In a pan, heat about a tablespoon of oil on medium low. Crack your egg in the pan, and cover. Cook until it’s done how you like it.
While that’s cooking, heat another tablespoon of oil in another pan. Put your rice and fry for about 1 minute. Mix in the soy sauce mixture, and stir. When everything is incoperated, turn off the heat and mix in the green onion.
Put rice into a bowl. Place fried egg on top. If you want to add a protein to your fried rice, you can. Just fry it up before adding rice. It’s a super filling breakfast that’s easy (enough) to make and tastes great.
If I’m totally honest, 2016 has been a thoroughly execrable year for reasons that, to quote Noah Maxwell, “ranged from dispiriting to insipid to insidious” -both personally for many of us, myself included, and generally for the world at large. So it’s at times like these where the stories most resonant to me are the ones whose rare glimmers of hope will acknowledge that things aren’t okay, or even motivate out of spite alone, but persist nonetheless… anyways, I hope the quotes under the cut help you out a bit like they helped me.
