The car ride back from the bar doesn’t go so smoothly.

Jemma is the first to break on the drive back home. The others are not far behind her, already on the edge of it themselves, but Jemma’s choked sob is the first noise May’s heard since the five of them piled back into the black SUV. A car on the highway near them honks and it shatters the delicate silence they’d been maintaining, and then it’s obvious that Jemma is doing everything she can to hold in further noise—eyebrows pinched and hand clasped around her mouth—but it’s not enough. There’s a soft whine in the air, stuttering around a gasp and a cough.
Fitz and Daisy press up against her on both sides, palms rubbing against her legs and shoulders and generally making contact wherever they can. Daisy’s voice, murmuring little nonsense to try and soothe all of them, is too high pitched and on the verge of breaking. Fitz looks like he’s trying to say something but his mouth is just opening and closing around empty air, so he pulls himself closer instead. Jemma lets go of another sob as they converge on her, and then reaches out to grab at them both.
May sighs and tips back against the headrest, watching the three of them in the rear-view mirror. Phil shoots her a ‘do I need to pull over?’ look, but she shakes her head, figuring that the best thing to do is to just keep driving, give the kids the little privacy they have, and be there if they’re needed.
“I’m so sick of this,” Jemma grounds out, tears running down her cheeks, one hand clasped around Daisy’s thigh and the other fisted in Fitz’s shirt. “I’m so sick of losing people.”

Spoilers incoming for FHJY post episode 15 as well as ramblings that attempt to express a coherent theory:
This post is a great point, throwing this theory into the ring, it was Arianwen Abernant.
She 100% got her magic back because it was taken away at the end of Sophmore Year by Cassandra who is now dead. And we know she can teleport and probably has mage hand too. So the second she regained her powers she could teleport right out of that nightmare forest.
What if she’s also been bankrolling the Rat Grinders and or the church of Galicaea (with the money that should have gone to Adaine and Alewyn) and the dragon thing is really a misdirect.
Galicaea is worshipped by a lot of high elves so funding the church would be a way to get back in good graces with Fallinel, and the popularity of Galicaea helps overall in the goal to keep Cassandra from returning.
She and Jace Stardiamond, and potentially Porter (he could be a Paladin of Ankarna who is a giant god, he did make sure Fig didn’t make that oath to Cassandra and his whole thing is rage) are allies and with Kalina were the memebers of the spy’s tongue curse.
“Ragh Barkrock” was Kalina’s hint to that.
Arianwen’s goal for the nightmare king was to restore her family name, and power and riches, and this is a way to do that. She’d be fully on board with taking out Yolanda and making sure Kristen failed and kept Cassandra dead so she can have her powers, and she’s not above manipulating children to get that. She doesn’t have Alewyn to do her dirty work, but Kipperlilly will do, and she even has a hatred of the Bad Kids already.
They’ve got the motive your honour.
All this to say, Oisin would never, it has to be Arianwen Abernant.
all kristen saw was a blue hand, right?
mage hand is usually blue, right?
all I’m saying is it might not have been oisin 🤷🏼♀️
"yeah they were all yellow" 💛

Anyone else deeply unsettled by the Entombed parallels? If you’ve got an Alice anywhere in your name in these universes apparently you get the most horrific claustrophobic fates imaginable.
One of the most amazing scenes of all time
it’s a spy’s g o o d b y e.
╾ Here’s to strong women.
we need more pathetic female characters written by authors who don't hate women
