When I was little I never realized how true this statement was.

Rick and morty is a sh*tshow of an asswhole grandpa and a boy with autism and anxiety who is forced along on sci-fi magical adventures completely unrealistic…

But it’s also such a realistic vision of reality.

You realize nothing means anything and suddenly your on top of the world….

I think this show really shows us a view of our thoughts and our feelings. Even the most cold hearted guy has feelings and he’s just a broken sad man who lost his whole family and tries to mask his hurt under alcohol…

It’s true. When we’re young we’re taught “your gonna do big things”

The harsh truth is that isn’t a fact.

The truth is that you have to work for your future. And that’s okay because that means it’s worth it.

If you find something to live for, that’s a big help

But it also teaches us that if we don’t also live for ourselves,

We’re just depressed people trying to make others happy…

Im a bigender (she/he) autistic, American, Christian.

But I’m not all into religious sh*t either.

Do I believe there’s a god? Yes.

Do I believe in heaven/hell? Yes.

Do I love Jesus and believe he loves us? Yes.

Am I scared sh*t less that I’m wrong and will go to hell? F*ck yes!

But also….

Do I WANT to constantly worry about everything, no.

Do I discriminate blacks/gays/disabled people? NO.

I’m a Christian but I don’t have to agree with everything everyone believes in.

I don’t even go to church every Sunday/Wednesday…

I’m different and that’s okay…

I have people I live for

My grandpa, my dad, my baby brother, the love of my life…

But I’m learning to live for myself as well

I wanna push past my anxiety and depression and PTSD and stress.

My trust issues and flashbacks

But I also don’t want to be naive and get hurt again.

Knowledge is power. But it’s also a burden.

Being naive is bad. But it’s also a blissful gift.

I have to live with both and suffer the consequences. But I also enjoy what life has to offer….

You may be thinking “you got all that from a stupid show for teens and adults!”

Good or bad

I firmly believe everyone has feelings but not everyone wants to use them, knows how to use them, or has to use them.

Good people and bad people there’s not always a fine line

There’s a gray area because evil isn’t born it’s made (a quote from once upon a time)

A lot of shows teach children there is “good and bad nothing more”

But Rick and morty showed me that there’s more to it than just that: everyone has a life, it’s your choice how you live it….

And not everyone succeeds, not because they gave up. But because life pushed them to that limit.

Let’s show life we’re stronger and stand as one

Stop discrimination, stop bullying, stop wars, stop fighting.

We’re all people

Black, white, Asian, japenese, Mexican, mixed, Chinese.

All cultures, races, religions, non religions, rich, poor, healthy, sick, fat, skinny, gay, straight,

And that doesn’t mean everyone is good.

There are sick people out here (pedophiles and cold blooded child murderers)

And they try to ruin the image of humans and cause fights.

We shouldn’t let them. We should fight back and know what’s right

Wether you believe in (any) god. Gods. Or no god.

Wether your in LGBTQ, or unable to support (cause of culture/religion), just don’t believe in it (but respect it), or your ally/straight.

Let’s all be humans.

Let’s all be ourselves.

Let’s focus on reality and make the fantasy of peace come true….

So to give context behind this angst, I got hit with this idea that the boys, while out and about exploring, encounter an anomaly/mythical creature that preys on your worst fears/memories and let’s you relive that fear/memory. Kinda like a mixture of a boggart and dementor from Harry Potter. And I had to be a horrible person and choose Ford for this. I’m sorry, honey! ;^; Never really found an idea on how Stan snapped Ford out his bubble of fear but they both turn out okay in the end.

*they would beat Lloyd half to death only for his injuries to magically heal up, then the cycle would repeat and he was humiliated, in pain, tortured, insulted, he was at a point that he was crying on the ground, his clothes had gotten so damaged they ripped off (except his underwear) and his wounds were healing again

He was whipped, slapped, beaten, stabbed, choked, had his hair pulled and cut, had his bones broken, burned, bitten, cut open, recorded, forced to say things like “I’m a loser, I quit, I’m no ninja, I’m a villain, I deserve to d*e, I’m a failure”, and he was laughed at*

Lloyd: *crying and begging* please k*ll me! Please k*ll me!!!! I give up! I can’t take it anymore!!! I can’t! I can’t! I can’t!!!

*he was no longer the legendary hero. He was showing what he was.

When are parents gonna learn that no matter what they do the kids gonna be exposed eventually?

If you give a child a toy and they hurt themselves,

Take away the toy, and the child cries.

The child then plays with another toy and hurts themselves

The only way to stop a child from hurting themselves with toys is to not get them toys

So they give them an iPad or phone,

They look up stuff and find inappropriate stuff on YouTube, so the parents put a parental lock on YouTube.

The child uses a different account and watches it anyway so the parents delete YouTube,

The child watches Safari/Google/Yahoo/Chrome videos

The parent takes away the web,

The child plays bad violent games

Finally the parent has enough and takes the device

Then the child is left watching tv,

They watch something scary? Change the channel

Watch something inappropriate? Change the Channel

Adult jokes in cartoons? Change the channel

Violence in educational films? Eventually you realize the only way to stop a kid from watching “bad stuff” is to take away the whole tv

So then the child is left with nothing in the house?

Play with knives,

Jump on couches,

Get into weapons,

Draw on themselves or the walls

Put stickers everywhere.

So take the child outside?

Mud everywhere, dirty child, and exposed to other kids

Take kids to school?

Bullies, bad teachers, bad education, diseases, Ect.

Homeschool? Back to internet problems or they could hurt themselves with a book

Send a child into the world? Their eventually exposed to everything you tried to keep away

Being overprotective is never a solution and sheltering your child is pointless and will be terrible in the long run.

The only way to make sure your child is to your standards alone is if you turn them into robots and Lock them in a box their entire lives

Then enjoy CPS and PRISON TIME! 😁

And that child will not respect you and grow up without you.

And if you think you can force it?

Timeouts, the child runs away,

Spankings? The child is taught it’s okay to hit

Taking things away? The child finds new stuff and hates you for no reason

Beatings? The child grows up either violent or hating you or both, and you also get into trouble

Manipulation? That child eventually turns on you and leaves you.

grounding? The child can run away.

Punishments don’t work. DISCIPLINE does.

Discipline is to tell a child “no” and explain why and give a good example.

Discipline is to teach a child how to PROPERLY control their emotions and feelings in a HEALTHY way. They can get mad, complain, cry, scream. But they have to choose HOW to show those feelings.

Also don’t teach them blind obedience or turn them into your “little soldier”

“Yes sir! No sir! Yes ma’am! No ma’am!”

No. That’s not how it works, it’s

“Yes I understand” “no I don’t get it”

These are proper HUMAN responses.

And respect is earned not given. No matter if your an adult or a child.

Kids rebel, kids make mistakes, kids get upset.

If you don’t want to deal with this properly with patience and understanding and a good firm mindset.

DONT HAVE KIDS.
