PICTURES DO NOT BELONG TO ME
It wasn’t a surprise that when you found Fleur she was surrounded by a group of people. Men and women admired and lusted for her, and you couldn’t help but share their feelings. But you could also say that your feelings stemmed from years of friendship.
Fleur's eyes lit up when they saw you. She descended quickly from the front steps of the Chateau that is Beauxbatons School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
“Darling, it has been too long since I've last heard from you! How was the rest of your break? You must tell me everything!” Fleur looped her arm through yours, practically dragging you up the stairs.
“Boring for the most part. My family wanted to try camping while we were with my cousins in America. It didn't go too well.” You shrugged
“Tell me you didn’t camp the muggle way.” Fleur scrunched up her nose in distaste.
Your smile was enough to tell her that her fears were correct.
“I do not understand why muggles would do that for fun. From what you wrote to me in your letter, muggle camping is very...cramped..” Fleur said
You shrugged, “It can be.” You turned to look at her better, “But there are some good parts too. Maybe i’ll take you some time.”
Her eyes shone, her smile pleasant, “I would like that.”
Before you could voice your surprise, one of Fleur's roommates ran up to us, “Fleur! We must hurry, Madame Maxine has said that there will be a big announcement after dinner!” She said
Fleur looked at you with curiosity shining in her eyes, “What do you think it is?”
You shrugged once again in response.
Fleur, motivated by this new found information, dragged you up through the Chateau doors into the welcoming hall. Her group of admirers following after silently.
She kept you on her arm the entire time.
—————————————-
You sat at Fleur's right hand side at one of the long banquet tables in the Grand Ballroom. Silently, trying to soak in the ambience since you were only to dine here for special occasions.
The tables looked especially beautiful, glimmering under the light and wonderful food being spread down the tables. Marble floors and glass chandeliers that illuminated the Baroque art on the ceilings.
Wooden nymphs danced around us while others chatted with the students.
The marvelous tables were only filled with appetizers and other light foods, as we waited for the first years to get back from their tour of the large grounds.
First years were to be sat among the three houses with the other first years, while all the other years could choose to sit wherever they wanted. But only for the first night. It is believed that this encourages first years to make friends with the people whom they will spend most of the year with.
Finally, the eleven year olds walked through the big doors. Many of them marveled at the sight of the Grand Ballroom. You smiled to yourself, remembering your first time seeing it.
Madame Maxine rose from the marble table littered with gold accents that sat her and the rest of the staff.
Everyone immediately went silent.
Madame Maxine stood to address the crowd, or more specifically the first years.
“Welcome! I am Madam Maxine, headmistress of Beauxbatons, the French school of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Our school has housed and pampered many famous witches and wizards. Such as the magnificent Nicolas Flamel, inventor of the Sorcerers Stone.” The ballroom erupted in cheers.
After a few moments Madame Maxine lifted her hands to stop the applause, “I speak for all of my comrades and our students when I say that we hope you find the next seven years among us to be enlightening and gratifying as you all learn to take your place in our wizarding world!” More cheers erupted.
Madame Maxine took a good look at the first years before continuing her speech, “Now, don't be intimidated. For the sorting, each one of you will get an arrow with your name engraved into it. The bow is enchanted to make shooting your arrow, to be as swift as the flowing waters in our fountains.”
“Beauxbatons has three grand houses. Now your house is how we will split our great school into smaller, more manageable groups, but we greatly encourage you to make friends outside of your houses as well.” She paused, smiling at the older students before turning back to the first years. “The first house is Ombrelune. If you are to be placed in Ombrelune the arrow will erupt into the color blue. Ombrelune takes in people who are ambitious and logical.” She took a step forward, “The second house is called Papillonlisse, if you are meant for this great house your arrow will explode into a cloud of purple. Papillonlisse houses students who are mature and kind, and typically have some sort of artistic ability.” Our headmaster took a deep breath before finishing her speech, “Finally, is the house of Bellefeuille. This house is represented by the color green. This part of our school houses those who are brave and loyal. Whatever house you are placed in will be an honor. So if you do not get the house you are hoping for, know that you will still grow into the person who you are meant to be.”
The great ballroom erupted into loud cheers. Madame Maxine looked very pleased at the enthusiasm from her students.
“And one last thing, if you are colorblind, you mustn’t worry, just look on the side of the bow for the name of your house.” She waited another moment for another round of cheers.
“Now let us watch as the next generation of Beauxbatons is placed amongst our great school!” Madame Maxine shouted over the cheers.
She reached for a delicate looking pillow, laying atop was the bow all students used to sort them into their house. With a wave of her hand a magnificent chest appeared. The lock held the Beauxbatons coat of arms and the chest was made from oak wood with gold accents and diamonds and other jewels decorating it. With another wave of the headmistress's hand the chest opened revealing an overwhelming amount of arrows.
Madame Maxine reached her hand inside and picked out an arrow. She looked on the side of the arrow to read the name engraved into it.
“Eléonore Blanchard!” The tall woman bellowed out.
Everyone waited a few moments before a dark skinned girl with curly hair emerged from the crowd and walked timidly up to Madame Maxine.
The headmistress walked closer to Eléonore and patted her shoulder encouragingly, before placing the bow and arrow into the young girl's hands. The headmistress walked back over to the chest of arrows and waited patiently.
Eléonore took a breath, raised the arrow, and let it fly.
The arrow burst purple.
The students of Papillonlisse cheered for their new member.
The wood nymphs danced around Eléonore and guided her towards the table that was magically glowing purple.
She looked relieved to finally be sat down.
Madame Maxine clapped politely, then pulled out another arrow from the chest that was floating midair so that she didn’t have to bend to reach.
She examined the arrow, “Antoinette Laine!”
A girl with light red hair and fair skin scurried excitedly up to Madame Maxine.
She took the bow and arrow with confidence.
The arrow burst green.
“Bellefeuille!” Madame Maxine clapped politely.
The red head danced with the nymphs as they led her towards the table that glowed green.
When Antoinette sat, she looked over at Eléonore and grinned, waving excitedly. Eléonore smiled in return.
————————-
After the sorting was over, the students looked expectantly at their headmistress, wondering what the secret news was.
Madame Maxine looked at her students and smiled, “I'm sure you have heard from your guardians or friends that this school year will be different from the rest. I am pleased to tell you that this year Beauxbatons will compete in the Triwizard Tournament.”
The students all turned to the students next to them beginning to talk In confused whispers.
“I am sure that the majority of you are curious as to what that is...” Madame Maxine proceeded to explain the triwizard tournament.
Many students were on the edge of their seats, clearly interested in the Triwizard tournament. Fleur was one of them, you quickly noticed.
However, when the age limit was announced many of these students deflated.
Fleur turned to you quickly, her eyes shining in excitement. You knew she was going to enter, and that made your stomach twist.
——————————
Fleur ranted about the tournament all throughout dinner. You didn’t comment, but tried to offer encouraging smiles.
Once dinner was over, Fleur kissed you swiftly on both cheeks before rushing out. A group of girls followed after her.
You took that as your time to leave and go back to your dorm. Hoping to sleep off everything.
———————
Months had passed, finally you were on your way to Hogwarts. One of the other schools that Beauxbatons would be competing against. Hogwarts was to be your “home away from” for the majority of the rest of the school year.
Fleur was shaking with excitement as you walked out of the enchanted carriage.
She grabbed your hand and grinned at you.
Maybe this tournament wouldn’t be so bad.
—————————
The second task was tomorrow. You were anxious and you weren’t even competing. Fleur insisted that she was ready but you could tell she was anxious as well.
So, you did the first thing you thought of. A walk by the Black Lake. This is where the next task would be held. You thought that maybe, seeing it before would help ease the nerves.
You were kicking yourself now.
Fleur took a good look at the lake. She turned to you, looking like she wanted to say something, then turned back towards the lake.
“What is it Fleur?” You asked patiently.
“I-Well…” You had been helping her with her English since the tournament was announced. “I’m worried I won’t perform well…”
“You’ll do good. I’ve seen you studying, practicing, working hard to represent Beauxbatons in the way it deserves.” You answered
“But what if my best isn’t great…” she mumbled, but you heard
“Your best will always be good enough, Fleur. To the people that truly care about you, it will always be good enough.” You took her hand in both of yours, urging her to believe you.
She looked at you assessingly. Finally, she whispered, “If I place..last-tomorrow, will you still care for me?” You were shocked by the question.
“Of course, Fleur, of course!” You tried to hide the fact you were a little hurt she thought you wouldn’t.
“Everyone expects me to place. I mean Hogwarts has a fourteen year old competing along with their of age student. I need to be great.” She said
“You’re a very intelligent woman, Fleur. With a heart of diamonds and a personality to match it. No matter how you perform during this tournament, that will not change.”
She looked at you for a few moments before leaning in. The hand that was not in yours caressed your cheek. She looked at you with such intensity you shivered.
“Promise me. Promise me that if I do not do well in this tournament, you will still be my friend.” She whispered, the raw emotion of fear and vulnerability in her voice as her she begged in her mother tongue.
“I promise.” You breathed out, completely consumed by the energy that is Fleur Delacour.
Her breath hitched, and she cast a glimpse at your lips, “I never really liked the cold you know.” She muttered, “I had imagined us next to Flamels fountain, not these..cold grounds. But I simply cannot wait any longer.”
You looked at her lips, your eyes so pathetically begging her to kiss you, you wouldn’t breath, you couldn’t breath, until she kissed you.
Fleur took in a breath, “Let me kiss you.” She said in a mixture of begging and demand.
You nodded softly, and she complied.
She was an excellent kisser, no surprise there. She used both of her hands to caress your face, keeping you close.
You moved your hands from your lap, one going to Fleur's face to brush away the locks of her hair, and the other going to her waist.
She pulled back after what felt like a long time, and looked at you with eyes full of love, and..
You realized with a start she had tears in her eyes.
You cupped her cheek in panic, “What is it?” You begged
“I think…I love you..” She said
Your stomach erupted with butterflies.
“I love you too, Fleur. So much!” You said in a hurry
She could only stare at you with happiness and love in her eyes.
Who knew your love would bloom on cold grounds.

How could you not admire her when you walk by. Daphne was a goddess. But an intimidating goddess at that. Only the really ambitious-or stupid- approached her, and attempted to take her on a date. She was never interested though.
Your relationship had been kept a secret from public eyes. Not for any particular reason other than the adrenaline rush of sneaking around. Only your closest friends and Daphne's sister, Astoria, knew about it.
It’s January, the air is still chill from December, casting an icy breeze down the halls. Most students shivered, but Daphne didn’t. She leaned against the cold wall, her figure the picture of elegance. She was dressed in her own clothes since students weren’t required to wear robes over the weekends. She looked quite intelligent, but also scary. The kind of person you don’t approach because they look like they could read your mind.
She kept to herself, examining her nails, her mouth thin in displeasure. Her head snapped in the direction of footsteps and low and behold there you were. Walking alone, messenger bag on your hip, eyes focused on the floor in front of you. Your pose indicated you weren’t open to conversation. But you always walked like that.
Daphne's heart fluttered at the sight of you and a smile blossomed on her face. She quickly walked over to you, her hand quickly finding yours. You looked up, knowing immediately who it was. You smiled, grateful at the blonde's appearance.
“Where are you headed?” Daphne asked genuinely curious
“The library. I need to return some books and pick up some new ones.” You answered
Daphne hummed, “Did I ever tell you about the time in second year when a book followed me around for a week. Honest to Merlin, I couldn’t figure out why. My professors thought I was misbehaving, so I got detention.”
You laughed, “It just followed you around?”
Daphne nodded, “Yeah but when it placed itself on my desk it would make a loud sound. Disturbed all the students around me. Now that I think about it, it was probably Parkinson’s idea.”
You stiffened, Daphne didn’t think anything of it.
“What for?” You asked
Daphne laughed, “I was probably standing too close to Malfoy the day before. You know how Parkinson gets when you mess with one of her ‘possessions’.”
You shook your head, “Malfoys a person.”
“I don’t think Parkinson ever saw him that way. I think she’s just always seen him as her betrothed Prince that she would end up marrying and living in a big castle with all of us as her unhappy subjects. ‘Course, Malfoy didn’t give a fuck about her until last year. He just liked all the attention she gave him. I think that’s why he still keeps her around.”
Your mouth thinned, “That’s sad, the way they both use each other.”
Daphne shrugged, “I think it’s better than one of them actually being in love.”
You stopped walking, and Daphne stopped as well, confused, “How do you know they don’t love each other?”
Daphne hesitated, “I think they love the idea of each other. What the other can give them. But if it were just them, it wouldn’t mean anything.”
You hummed in acknowledgment, “Do you think they could learn to love one another?”
“I don’t know, when you grow up the way they- we did. It’s kind of all you know. It’s uncomfortable to love someone when you aren’t familiar with it. It feels…unsafe. Parkinson and Malfoy don’t like feeling unsafe.”
Your brows furrowed in distress but Daphne cut you off before you could say anything.
“I know what you’re thinking. Yes, it was an odd feeling for you at first. I didn’t like it. But I do now. I’m happier now. So I’m glad I took that risk with you.” She squeezed your hand
You squeezed back, smiling.
——————————
True to your words, you were sitting in the library with a few transfiguration books open.
Your head snapped up when the chair across from you screeched as it dragged on the floor.
Pansy Parkinson’s eyes were mischievous, like a cat about to chase a mouse. Your mouth thinned, anxiety pooled in your stomach, as well as frustration. What did she want?
“Watchya readin their honey.” She smacked her lips together annoyingly.
“A book.” You answered dryly
Parkinson scowled, “I’m not stupid, I can see that’s a book.”
“Then maybe you can also see that I’m reading it.” You snapped back
Pansy stared at you blankly before smiling a cruel smile. “No need to be fiesty honey. I just want to have a nice conversation with you, that's all.”
She stood up and sat in the chair right next to you. You turned to face her, not trusting her to be so close and not be up to something.
“So how’s Daph doing?” She asked, but she didn’t look at all interested in what your answer would be.
“Fine.” You replied shortly
Pansy smiled a teasing smile, “Y’know Daph used to be such a laugh. She was always a mischievous one. Which was why I was so confused when she turned her back back on us, for people like you.”
She didn’t give you time to answer before continuing, “She spends a lot of time with you I’ve noticed. Do you have something she likes or…” she breaks off looking at you. She laughs suddenly, “Don’t tell me the two of you are seeing each other!”
You stiffened.
“Daphne always was unpredictable. But this! Now that’s something.” The raven headed girl stated loudly.
She moved her hand to your cheek and you flinched back, “Now, you and I are gonna come up with a nice little plan. You’re gonna break off whatever you have with Greengrass. You’re gonna tell her that she’s pathetic for thinking you could ever care for her. That you just wanted to see how far she’d go. Call her a blood supremacist or whatever. Break. Her. Heart.” Pansy said through clenched teeth, “Or, the next time we see each other, you won’t be getting away in one piece.” You froze when you felt the tip of her wand on your thigh.
She smiled cruelly, “See you around, honey.”
You were shocked. Frozen in place.
That’s why you didn’t notice a particular Greengrass sister a couple years younger than you was nearby. And she heard everything.
————————-
A few weeks had gone by.
You continued to see Daphne, not sure what your plan was. Ignore Pansy, listen to Pansy, try and deceive Pansy?
Pansy Parkinson was like a parasite. Most kids younger than her were afraid of her. So if she wanted to know something, she’d know.
Every time you saw Daphne it was short and quick.
You could see the confusion laced on her face every time you walked away with pathetic excuses that she could see right through.
You had been struggling a bit in potions recently so you weren’t surprised when Professor Slughorn sent you a note with an invitation for some extra help.
You made your way to the potions room, you caught a glimpse of Daphne, talking with her younger sister Astoria. You lowered your head and kept walking. You could think about everything later.
Entering into the potions room your eyes went straight to the teachers desk and you were surprised not to see your professor.
“Slughorn's out for a bit.” A frighteningly familiar voice said from the corner.
Pansy was leaning against a table, looking happy. But not a good kind of happy.
“When will he be back?” You ask when the silence becomes too much.
Pansy snorts out a laugh, “Not for hours…you didn’t really think the note was from old Professor Slughorn, did you?”
Great.
“What do you want now?” You ask annoyed that you had been deceived.
“I thought I made it very clear that you were to break off things with Daphne. But she looks almost as she was before we had our chat.”
“Maybe Daphne doesn’t care as much as you think she does.” You replied
“No. I’m right. I know I’m right. The question is, do you?”
“What?” You were confused
“I made you a promise last time we spoke.” Pansy studied her nails in a bored manner.
“You threatened me.”
“Pish posh.” Pansy said, “You are the fool for not listening. Now, what am I going to do with you?” She pulled out her wand from her robes.
Your wand was in your bag, but you knew the second you tried to reach for it she’d hit you. Pansy may be a bitch, but her hexes are pretty good.
“How about an apology.” A third voice said
Whirling around, you see your girlfriend standing by the door, her wand pointed straight at Parkinson.
“Daphne.” Pansy was very surprised by the blonde's appearance.
“Parkinson.” Daphne sneered back.
Pansy recovered from her shocked look, to a face of annoyance.
“We were just having a little girl talk. No need to be so hostile, Daph.” Pansy rolled her eyes
Daphne chuckled darkly, “Like when you threatened my girlfriend in the library two weeks ago. Was that what you consider a little girl talk?”
Parkinson stiffened and she looked at you with flaming eyes. If looks could kill.
“Don’t look at her.” Daphne's voice snapped
“How long have the two of you been seeing each other?” Parkinson asked, trying to look uninterested.
Daphne moved closer to you, “That is none of your concern.”
“How come? We’re friends, aren’t we Daphhy?” She mocked a pout
Daphhy? If it weren't for the fact that she was just plain annoying then that would make you feel the urge to punch.
“We haven’t been friends for a long time, Parkinson. Especially not now.” Daphne was shaking. What fueled this, you weren’t sure.
Pansies mouth thinned.
“If I even hear a whisper that you are messing with my girlfriend I will make sure you regret it, do. you. understand?” The look on Daphne's face scared you. Even though you knew her anger wasn’t directed towards you.
“You always were a fiesty one Greengrass. A poked dragon just waiting for the chance to sink its teeth into someone. Is that what you plan to do to your little bitch here?” Pansy said
The sound of cracking was Daphne's response.
Pansy shrieked in pain, her hands going to cover her face.
She pulled them pack and saw the blood that was coming from Pansy’s nose.
Daphne grabbed your hand, hard. “If you ever mess with her again you’ll wish all you got was a broken nose.” Daphne seethed
She pulled you from the room and dragged you up and up multiple sets of stairs until she just stopped in a completely empty corridor.
She turned to look at you, anger still blazing in her eyes. She looked at you expectant, like a parent waiting for their child to confess their wrongdoing.
You opened your mouth, trying to think of what to say but closed it when you couldn’t think of anything.
When Daphne realized you weren’t going to say anything, she began talking, “Why didn’t you tell me? How long has Parkinson been talking to you? Has she hurt you? I swear if she touched you I’ll-“
“No.” You said out of nowhere, “No, Daph you shouldn’t have broken her nose like that-“
“Did you expect me to just step back and let her talk about you the way she did!” Daphne thundered
“I’m not saying she didn’t deserve it but now every time she sees you-“
“She’ll keep to herself, she’s not dumb enough to try me again.” Daphne countered
You went silent at that.
Daphne sighed, running a stressed hand across her face, “Why didn’t you tell me?” She whispered
“I thought it would go away.”
“You’re lying.” Daphne said
“What was I supposed to say, that Pansy Parkinson wouldn’t leave me alone?”
“Yes!” Daphne shouted, “I can keep you safe! Don’t you understand that? I can keep you safe from all of them, they’re afraid of me, they wouldn’t mess with you!”
“I don’t need you to keep me safe!” You shouted back
“Are you sure, because it’s not what it seemed like in there.” Daphne laughed with no humor.
“I would’ve figured it out!” You said
Daphne went silent, looking at you with concern.
She walked towards you and touched your cheek.
“At least tell me.” She whispered, “I don’t want you to keep big details like that, I don’t want to not know you’re hurting. Because I…I love you. Don’t you see that?” She pleaded
“I do now.” You replied, “I love you, Daphne. I didn’t want to worry you.”
Daphne smiled lightly, “You always worry me. As long as I live you will always worry me.”
And she kissed you.

Warnings: Snow, cold weather, heights?

Takes place during readers and Lilys 5th year

PICTURES DO NOT BELONG TO ME
“Tell me you can feel that too!” Lily exclaimed excitedly
“I might if you told me what I am supposed to be feeling.” You said
You were sitting on Lily's bed as she gathered all of her Quidditch stuff in one area. The two of you were whispering so you didn’t wake Lily's roommates.
You weren’t one of Lily's roommates, so you shouldn’t be in her dorm, but she had snuck you in last night after her roommates went to bed.
Now, the two of you were up before first light to walk down to the quidditch pitch.
“The..anticipation in the air.” Lily answered, turning towards you, “It’s always there before a big quidditch match.” She added
You hummed in response, snuggling back under the covers to keep warm.
“Do we have to get up this early?” You complained
“Yes.” Lily said absentmindedly, throwing her clothes into her quidditch bag.
“You ready?” You asked from behind the red heads blanket
“Yep!” Lily said excitedly, pulling you from under the covers.
You cuddled yourself into your girlfriend as the two of you walked down the quidditch pitch. Lily only embraced you wholeheartedly.
“I don’t understand how you can get up so early so willingly.” You grumbled
You felt Lily laugh a little.
“Look, it’s snowing.” Lily poked your side
To your amazement and horror, there were indeed piles of snow on the ground.
You might think that this would cause a reschedule but if there was anything the whole school could agree about was the importance of quidditch.
“Better than playing in the blazing sun.” Lily commented
You grumbled an agreement.
When you got closer to the locker room you noticed another familiar form.
“Lils! Over here!” Rose called eagerly, already in uniform.
Lily grabbed your hand and pulled you over towards her cousin.
Rose offered her bright full greetings, already feeling the upcoming adrenaline of the game.
You wished the pair good luck, placed a kiss on Lily's cheek, and turned to walk away when your girlfriend grabbed your wrist.
You raised your eyebrows questioningly.
“I didn’t get my good luck kiss.” She said
You huffed out a laugh, “How did I forget..” you said teasingly.
—————————————————
Over time, people began crowding in the stands. Many people were covered in red and gold or the other team's colors. You were sat in the Gryffindor section with Scorpious and Albus.
Scorpious brought red and gold face paint and applied the pigment to your cheeks, as well as Lily's quidditch number.
The crowd roared as both teams walked out to the field and mounted their brooms.
As the Gryffindor team flew into their positions you caught your red heads eye and she winked at you with a grin spread across her face.
The heat on your cheeks canceled out the chill.
Merlin, your throat was sure to be sore after this game.

PICTURES DO NOT BELONG TO ME
Is it odd to be jealous of a cat?
Maybe, but you’re sure you aren’t the first.
Atticus, an unknown breed of cat that had followed Daphne back to Hogwarts after a Hogsmeade trip in her fifth year. He was a sweet cat if he wanted to be. But normally he didn’t want anything to do with anyone except Daphne.
Which made it difficult when you had to take him for holiday breaks.
Daphne and Astorias parents were quite strict. They would’ve noticed Atticus the second Daphne had stepped into their home.
Which Daphne always laughed about because they only ‘gave a damn’ if their daughters did something wrong. Every other time they were treated like ornaments.
So, you had tasked yourself with taking care of her darling cat every break. Not that the cat was ever willing.
It was one of the many sighs of relief when you graduated from Hogwarts.
After a couple years you and Daphne moved in together. You were ecstatic about moving in with Daphne, but there were certainly some unexpectant challenges when it came to Atticus.
Like right now. You had gotten up to use the bathroom and the cat took your rightful place next Daphne. Curled up next to her like you once were.
You groaned in frustration. You were tired and didn’t want to have to deal with a needy cat.
You remind yourself that it’s your bed. Atticus has one of his own in Daphne's room. You shouldn’t feel bad, the cat gets to snuggle with Daphne almost as much as he wants. Yet, you do as you stride over to the bed with purpose.
You grab the cat gently but firmly so he doesn’t fall from your grip, and march over to Daphne's bedroom. The moment you picked him up he was making loud sounds of complaint. You tried to ignore it as you made down the familiar path towards Daphne's bedroom. You gently plopped the cat on his bed and cracked Daphne's bedroom door. Atticus would be able to get the door open and come running back to your room if he wished. You would just be back in bed before he got there.
When you plopped down on your bed and cozied yourself under the covers, you let out a sigh of victory.
“I could’ve sworn you were furrier.” Daphne hummed, in a sleep laced voice
“Yeah, whatever.” You muttered, snuggling closer to her.
She draped her arm over your waist lazily and peaked at you through hooded eyes, “If you’re jealous of my cat, you’re more than welcome to get your own.” She had a teasing smile on her face.
You murmured out something indecipherable as the warmth of your bed had already pulled you halfway into the depths of slumber.
———————————
Your home was filled with winter tunes. The noise came from your record player, which you insisted on playing despite Daphne's ignorance to the works of a record player.
Tonight, you were to dine with your family. Astoria and Daphne were also to attend.
Since neither girls were in contact with their parents, you opted to have both at your home.
While Astoria was ecstatic at being surrounded by your family, Daphne was less so. She was grateful for your offer, truly she was. But she enjoyed the solitude of your shared home much more.
That’s why, every year, you and Daphne have agreed that she will travel to your home before dinner, and stay for dessert, before the two of you re-enter the comfort of your home.
Daphne only really did it for you and Astoria.
The blonde had practically raised her younger sister herself, and since the brunette was the younger of the materialistic parents' children, she rarely ever was in conversation with her parents.
Daphne was the elder of the two. The crown jewel of the Greengrass name. Her reputation was everything to her parents.
She followed her parents orders to her own expense, only ever finding love and warmth from her younger sister, whom she taught love and kindness herself. Daphne always shielded Astoria as much as she could from her parents' cold souls. She made sure she followed her parents strict orders, only ever acting out in private, tutoring her when her grades were slipping below perfection, schooling her how to be a pretty picture with expert mannerisms without being the center of attention.
Daphne always knew that no matter how hard she tried Astoria had struggled from her parents neglectance and the strict rule of showing only false emotions, and mannerisms.
So, she tried to be better now, where they could no longer be reached by their parents' grasps.
Astoria had always adored and loved Daphne more than anyone. And when Daphne learned to love you, Astoria wasn’t long behind, coming to love you as a close friend and a person of guidance.
You were meant to leave your home soon. Picking and prodding at your attire so that you looked as you wished.
You could hear Daphne's footsteps from outside your bedroom before you could see her. Making eye-contact with her through your mirror (which was littered with many moving pictures of the two of you).
You turn, “How do I look?” You asked
One of the pros of being in a relationship with Daphne, is that she doesn’t beat around the bush. However, this could also turn into a con at times.
Her eyes raked over your frame, her eyes held admiration as she calculated her thoughts.
“You shouldn’t wear those shoes, they’re cheap and uncomfortable. I doubt any charm you used would be able to soften them. Wear the black ones I bought you, they’ll match your outfit brilliantly.” Daphne said
You nodded, she had a point, these shoes were wildly uncomfortable, but you liked the look of them.
You’d save them for a date night, you tell yourself.
Slipping on the shoes Daphne had gifted you not too long ago, your feet instantly felt much better.
“What time should I arrive?” Daphne quested, a few arrivals of clothing and jewelry floating behind her.
“Same time as last year, and the year before that.” You smiled
Daphne nodded, her expression stoic, as usual. Daphne was notorious for having a resting bitch face, your friends had once told you.
“What shall I wear?” Daphne asked thoughtfully, using her wand to move the floating possessions in front of you.
You examined the options before picking out the pieces you liked best.
Daphne nodded, she tapped her wand once and the attire was gone.
“Don’t miss me too much.” You joked, walking over to her for a goodbye kiss.
Daphne smiled softly, and allowed you to place a kiss on her cheek. She turned her head waiting expectantly for another kiss.
You kissed her lips, immediately wishing you weren’t to see your family soon. You would’ve preferred if you could spend all night kissing the blonde. Unfortunately, that wasn’t an option.
Daphne may hate social gatherings, but she hated not being punctual more. She believed that if you said you were going to be somewhere then you should be there.
“Don’t be long.” You begged breathlessly.
You stepped back, Daphne giving you a wink before you apparated to your parents home.
—————————————
You were always pleasantly surprised at the familiar scent of your childhood home.
The entirety of your past home was filled with family and friends, drinking, laughing, talking, and of course gossiping.
You’d had your fair share of family members come up to you to comment on ‘how you’ve grown’ or ‘how you look so beautiful’.
You tried to stay clear of the attendants you weren’t close with. Choosing to stick around those you were more fond of.
“So, how’s that girlfriend of yours?” Your grandma asked, patting your thigh affectionately.
As she’s aged she seems to forget more and more.
Your occupation, relationships, and recent travelings were always the topics.
“Daphne's good.” You said
“And what is she doing now?” You grandmother asked
“She’s a court scribe for the ministry.” You answered
Your grandmother nodded, but she doubted she heard you or even processed what you said.
You excuse yourself politely, making your way to the front door.
One tick, two ticks, three ticks…
A polite knock on the door.
You pulled it open, smiling brightly at the sight of your beautiful girlfriend dressed in the outfit you chose.
You said your greetings and then pulled her towards your parents.
“Oh, Daphne, how lovely to see you.” Your mother beamed at her.
“How’s work going?” Your father asked
Neither of your parents made a move to hug Daphne. They had learned throughout the years the two of you had been together that Daphne was not a hugging kind of person.
Daphne answered your parents' questions politely, only stopping when Astoria bounded over to the two of you.
“Daph, you’re here!” Astoria gave Daphne a one-armed hug
Your parents excused themselves politely, knowing this conversation was more wanted between the three of you.
“Yes, I am.” Daphne said quietly in a regretful tone.
Over the course of conversation Daphne wrapped her arm around you subconsciously.
“Rumor has it that you’re seeing someone.” You added
Astoria blushed.
Daphne looked quite shocked, “What?”
“It’s nothing serious.” Astoria reassured her sister, “At least, not right now.” She added quietly
“Since when were you seeing anyone?” Daphne asked
“Relax, Daph.” You whispered
Daphne sent you an incredulous look before turning to her sister expectantly.
“I think you’ll like him.” Astoria said, smiling, “Both of you.”
“Does that mean we can meet him?” You asked
“Not yet. But, soon.” Astoria promised
You elbowed Daphne.
Daphne sighed, “I’m happy for you. Truly, I am.”
Astoria grinned, “I know, Daph.”
Astoria excused herself to go help your mother.
“I think it’s nice.” You commented
“We’ll see.” Said Daphne.
——————————————
The two of you were to leave soon.
Dinner and dessert had been served and it had all been graciously enjoyed.
When games began you pulled Daphne out to sit outside.
“I’ll be right back!” You added, before rushing back into the house.
When you walked back outside, Daphne was sitting in the gazebo in your yard, she seemed to be examining the lights you had hung around it earlier that season.
Her head turned when she heard your footsteps.
She quickly noticed the thing in your hands and raised a brow.
“I was hoping..” you began, nervously, “You’d play for me.”
You handed her the Violin.
“Did you buy this ‘specially for me?” Daphne jokes
“It’s custom made. It’s..your present.” You said
Daphne looked up at you in surprise.
She looked down at the case that held her instrument, and opened it slowly.
The Violin was gorgeous. It matched Daphne's complete persona.
Daphne looked over it, delicately running her fingers along it.
“It’s..so lovely.” Daphne whispered, “Thank you.” She said even quieter.
She pulled the Violin out and placed the case delicately on the space beside her.
“Any song in particular?” She asked
Your heart sped up, “No.” you answered
Daphne stood, positioning the Violin so that she could play.
When Daphne had told you she could play, she mentioned she always played standing up.
You had never physically seen Daphne play, only heard it.
When Daphne hit the first string, you breath caught.
You’d heard both muggle and wizard music in your life. Both were unique and beautiful in their own ways.
Daphne put them both to shame in a matter of seconds.
The blondes eyes were closed as she let her muscle memory do all the work. You didn’t recognize the sound from her violin to be familiar.
Though, none of it mattered as the violins music became more frequent and the lights on the gazebo began to perform to the beat of Daphne's music.
The lights flickered, dimmed, and brightened as Daphne played.
You felt like you were in an alternate universe, being lulled to sleep by an angel.
You were positive that this tune would guide you for the rest of the week. As not only the sound soothed you but the picturesque scene of your breath-taking love.

Genre: Fluff | Slice of life
Pairing(s): Clary Fairchild x Partner!Reader
Summary: You and your girlfriend, Clary, decide to spend a hot day at the lake.
Warnings: sharp rocks, small hiding places?
—————————————
PICTURES ARE NOT MINE
It wasn’t hard to get Clary to spend the day at the lake. This particular lake was located near her dad's renovated house out of the city. It’s mid June and the weather has been scorching hot.
Since the both of you are adults, Clary’s parents (reluctantly) let the two of you have the house to yourselves. Much to the enjoyment of the two of you. You couldn’t remember a time where you got to spend such isolation with your girlfriend, without having to worry about interruptions or strangers or responsibilities. So far, the hours you have had were amazing.
You had spent breakfast outside, Clary with her bagel and coffee, and you with your own preferred breakfast. You didn’t have to worry about time, so you spent a good hour just talking. Taking bites with minutes in between. There was no need to rush.
The walk to the lake had been calm, filled with laughter. The two of you walking side by side, hand in hand. Clary had been telling about some anime she and Simon had recently started. She filled you in on her favorite characters and her predictions for how the story would progress. You listened and asked questions, loving the way her eyes shone, and the sound of her voice. Obviously she was taken by the subject, the words flowing out of her mouth smoothly with passion and emotion.
The two of you had also discussed your friends and your predictions as to what they were doing at that moment. Clary told you that Simon was supposed to be meeting with his ‘band’ that morning. Simon had wanted to come but then quickly realized that this was a romantic retreat and decided against pushing to come.
“I bought this comic with different Japanese fighting styles, I've been taking notes on some I think would be useful.” Clary stated, looking proud
“Is that so? You know, fiction fighting and real life fighting rarely mirror each other. As far as I know their fighting skill is over-exaggerated and sometimes just unnecessary.” You respond
Clary shook her head smiling, “Actually I talked to Alec about some of the techniques and he said they were legitimate.”
“Well, if Alec approved it, it must be accurate.” You said sarcastically
“Exactly.” Clary returned with a sarcastic smirk
When you got to the lake side, quickly you shedded your layers of clothes revealing the swimsuit underneath.
Clary did the same, looking a little flustered. She wore a simple pastel purple one piece, but in truth she looked breathtaking. Noticing your admiring stare, Clary flushed, a shy smile on your face.
You set the towels you had brought on some of the dryer, but not so dirty rocks.
“We should put on sunscreen before we get in.” Clary commented, pulling out a bottle of such product from the bag she had brought. The bag was decorated with some anime characters that you were unable to identify.
Once she was done she handed you the bottle, “Get my back?” She asked smirking
You wore a smirk of your own, grabbing the bottle from her hands and putting a dime size in your palm. You purposefully spent more time rubbing the protective cream on her back, enjoying the way she shivered. At your touch or the temperature of the cream, you weren’t sure. You ended it with a small kiss on the side of her neck. She flushed again.
“My turn.” She turned around and applied some to your back. You could tell she was trying to replicate your previous movements. Spending more time in an area that made you tense up or shiver involuntarily.
“You ready?” I ask, casting a glance toward the water.
Clary nods
Clary and I decided to just jump in. Better than stepping in, we both agreed.
The chill water immediately engulfed our bodies. A vast contrast to the humidity of the air. Clary shrieked and I laughed.
“It’s cold!” Clary shrieked
“That’s the point!” I laughed
Eventually we got into a game of trying to dodge each other. Basically just playing tag in the water with the just people. We were both surprised by the amount of hiding places the rocks held.
“I’ve been here a zillion times, how have I never noticed this!” Clary had said when she found a little opening in between the rocks
“This would’ve been a great place to avoid my mother trying to put sunscreen on me.” Clary mumbled looking genuinely a little disappointed.
“Well if you ever bring Simon here again, perhaps you could try and scare him.” You had commented
Clary brightened, “You are a genius!” She kissed your cheek
You spent hours there, in the water, now the chill being bearable, doing all different activities. At one point you attempted to pass a plastic volleyball but it popped on one of the sharper rocks a few minutes in.
The sun was setting, and you both agreed to pack up and head back. Clary picked up her phone and scoffed.
“What?” You ask, genuinely curious
“Simon is going to my favorite noodle place, without me!” She said
“How dare he.” You said dryly
“I know! When I get back he better be ready.” Clary muttered, resulting with a laugh from you
“We should do this again.” Clary said, smiling brightly
“We should.” You agree, taking her hand in yours.

Jace Herondale x Anxious S/O
PICTURES DO NOT BELONG TO ME
It makes sense and I’m kind of obsessed with this now.
Jace grew up all alone with just his father and the servants. He probably hadn’t even met someone his old age until he was ten and was adopted by the Lightwoods. Max adored Jace. Max litterally died with Jaces old toy in his hands.
The thing about Jace is that he wants to better than Valentine. And im not saying that would be the only reason he’d have kids, but I think at the end of the day he’d try his very best to not be the kind of father Valentine was to him. Six to eight kids is definetly a lot. But I think Jace really just wants to be surrounded by family. Especially with the person he loves.
I also think Jace adores kids. He tries to be gentle with them. I think it’s because he sees their innocence and knows that he never got to have that.
You know how in the fics they usually portrayed Jace as scared to have kids? Because he was afraid he'd be a bad father figure? Well canon Jace really said that's bullshit, I want 8 😌
Come on Cassie give him at least a puppy, a cat or a freaking plant... I'm not asking for much
