Sirius and Remus always hold hands. Even as tiny first years, the Hogwarts castle feels a little less scary with their fingers laced together. When Sirius wants to show Remus something, he doesn’t poke his shoulder like he would with James; he grabs his hand and tugs him over. When Remus is reading in the library, sometimes he absentmindedly plays with Sirius’ fingers underneath the table. It stays like this for years, but then Sirius’ palms get clammy whenever they clasp their hands together, and Remus starts to miss the curve of his fingers when they’re apart. When the both figure it out, Sirius’ veins crawl with electricity as he slowly brings their intertwined hands up to his mouth, pressing a delicate kiss on Remus’ knuckles.

It’s the first kiss. But not the last.

Thinking about how Remus and Sirius are soulmates. Not in the “they’re really good for each other and compatible” kind of way, but in the “souls are real in this universe and my soul is wound up with your soul; we are fated for each other; this was our destiny since before we were born; we will fall in love with each other again and again and again whether we like it or not” kind of way. The way that they stayed together throughout the First War, stayed in love despite thinking the other a traitor, stayed in love despite prison, stayed in love despite another war. Their love has been through time and space and distance, through war and prison and death, and yet it has persisted. If not soulmates, if not fate, then what do you call it?

I headcanon Remus as pretty calm and level-headed (he's the type of person where Sirius and James are more scared of him when he's calm angry) but i imagine him FLIPPING out over something like a new book release from his favorite author.

Nobody cares, but i’m slowly losing the will to live so i bought myself a copy of The Picture of Dorian Gray (the beautiful Chiltern edition!!) and The Secret History (my old copy was worn out) to make myself feel better. 😌
