This is just flat out attempted extortion at this point. I really miss the older days of LN when you could get a suit for 800 diamonds, we had actual breaks in between events, and even a new V0 player could afford to play them. Nowadays I just feel... really bad for new Love Nikki players who have no idea how expensive this game has really gotten.
The fans are on fire and, I mean, tho I usually understand the devs' actions this one time they've kind of earned the backslash.
I was thinking about this post earlier and I realized I left a part out I was originally gonna include but forgot involving the barbie collab suit.
The thing is, naturally after seeing this, one would wonder why they didn't do that for the Barbie collab suit, instead of giving us a copycat skin, but I actually have a few answers.
First of all, as a hobbyist game dev myself, I can tell you that a game dev won't know the full capabilities of their system, unless they test a bunch of random things out, and even then it's unlikely to know the full capabilities. So it's very likely that until recently they didn't even know they could do that.
So then why didn't they try it out for the Barbie collab? Simply because since it was a paid collaboration with something as huge as BARBIE, that wouldn't be the best time to try new things. They had a product to deliver and definitely wouldn't want an event suit that important to have major bugs or issues, so best to play it safe. Not to mention they most likely had a time constraint considering it was, in fact, a paid collaboration.
So, why not try it earlier? Time. We've had quite a few new things come to us recently, as well as bug fixes and the likes, so they were undoubtedly kept busy with that. Not to mention something like this would require thorough testing before being released as a feature, so that would require time as well.
So why was this a complication in the first place? The game wasn't originally built to have multiple skin tones, as the original Miracle Nikki server was launched without them. Skin tones weren't a thing that was introduced until after the english server was launched, and english players began to ask for them. They came for free alongside an old streetwear event and a free suit (youth storm). So the original game's code wasn't even built to handle more than one skin tone, much less default poses for them. The skin tones that came with these suits were, of course, coded as such, and we've never really had a need for items coded as part of multiple suits before, up until recently, when people began to ask for dark skin exclusive suits.
TL:DR; The devs had probably never messed with the possibility of an item being part of more than one suit before and more than likely only tested the possibility recently due to having the time to do so.
So yeah, I just wanted to add this because it's been rolling around in my head all day. I am in no way usually on the dev's side, but I can see why this might have happened this way.
The new wasteland pavilion event piqued my interest until I found out it was, in fact, a pavilion event. Then I was sad. But now I'm slightly interested again because they did something that I thought they couldn't do because of the way the game was coded
They managed to make warm ray part of two suits simultaneously.
That might not seem important, until you realize that this means they can have true dark skin exclusive suits, which I've seen many players asking for, without giving us copycat skin tones in order to make the default pose in the gallery not look kinda really terrible
So honestly? I may be disappointed with the price, and I won't finish it when I could finish evernight instead, but like, good on the devs for finding new ways to make our server happy despite the many various demands I see. I hope they keep this trend up in the future, though preferrably with less hell spam. What's up with all the hells lately this is getting out of hand
Hey hey! Just askin, are you and the squad planning on continuing to film LPs?
Hey there! First of all I just want to say that I fully do not remember when I got this ask, but I am so SO sorry that it’s taken me this long to get around to it. The truth is that my memory is garbage and every time I actually remembered that this ask existed, I was somewhere or doing something where I couldn’t reply to it. So again I’m so SO sorry this took so long.
Anyway, to answer your question, we 100% are planning to continue LPs. There have been a few changes made to the channel and such that have made certain clips and/or ideas unusable, so there’s a bit of behind the scenes stuff that needs to get done before we can get any new videos out. As well as that, since it’s been so long since we actively made content, we’ve decided that it should be for the best to re-ask developers if we can play their games in videos, since the situation may have changed since then. The other thing that contributed to this content drought of sorts is that I am the video editor, and I got hella burned out on video editing for awhile, and there’s no way in hell that we’re gonna upload unedited gameplay footage.
So TL;DR: Yes, we are planning to continue making LPs! We aren’t sure WHEN just yet, but we’ll be working at it when we can! Thank you for asking, by the way! And sorry again for the wait. ^^;
hey so apparently not everyone knows about nikki’s info ?? its a fan-run site just for the english server that basically tells you all the items you need to pass/S-rank any level(+you can upload your wardrobe to find your best outfit) they also have this for co-op, commission requests and event comps ! it does at times make the game not as fun but if you’re stuck on a level its rlly good
Yep! Its a lifesaver!
GUMI BEST VOCALOID
Idk which company they'd have to commission for that since Crypton doesn't own her but it'd be amazing hh-
On another note, how much do I have to pay Vocaloid so the next collab round includes Gumi?????
The struggle is real
AAA Sorry to bug you again, one last jam question... How does judge feedback work? Are there numeric scores that people get in categories (categories like coding, design, ect given a score out of like 5 or 10 for each category based on how well they did?)? Do y'all give out score sheets/written critiques/ect for each game?
Ah don't worry about bugging me, you're fine!
With judge feedback, it's essentially no different from the kind of comment you'd get on a normal game page! It's simply us saying what we liked, what we didn't like, our opinions on the strengths and weaknesses of your project, etc. There's no scoring or anything like that. Every team (including teams comprised of a single person of course) will get individual feedback from each of us judges on their game. In the end, it's really just our thoughts and opinions, not any be all and end all judgement on what is good and what is bad, so don't worry too much about them, okay? ^^
So I'm sure others will come along and get better scores
This is within the first hour of the new chapters being available after all
But I just wanted to share my
First ever top 5 score
On a maiden quest or otherwise
I feel so accomplished???? Highest I've ever gotten was top 50 and that was still within the first few minutes of a new chapter being up.
I am Maple. (They/Them) 💜🖤💙 Hetalia, HetaGames, Love Nikki (though not much of that right now), Splatoon, Music, just Anime in general, and whatever else interests me. I lowkey don't post right now but maybe considering posting hetagame shit again. Animal Crossing sideblog is @maples-animal-forest
