Being back here after all this time feels pretty weird! Tumblr was my only socmed for a really long time, but I left ages ago for Twitter. I’m NOT leaving Twitter and I’m not sure how active I’ll be here, but I’ve set up this account to keep in touch with those who are or might be. I’ll be checking here, I do plan to do a little posting, but things are uncertain on the whole right now.
Please ignore the state of this place, I cannot remember how any of these settings work. I’ll try to set up a real theme when / if I start really posting!
it's end of year art summary season again and I would just like to extend my love to all the artists who can't make a standard flashy "one big piece per month" review. if you've got months where you only did small pieces, or didnt finish anything, or didn't draw at all, or didnt draw "good enough". everyone whos left feeling a bit lackluster after comparing their "year of art" to those around them...this one's for YOU! we rule!
I want to repost the Ardbert piece on here, but it’s like, what are the hidden rules of tumblr art posting (like how Twitter had all those “BEAT THE ALGORITHM” tips)?
5 and 6 for the ffxiv asks?
5. Which, if any, of the major cities or cultures does your WoL/OC consider to be their childhood point-of-origin? Why did they leave? Do they go back and visit? How do they feel about coming from this place?
Sena is technically from the Steppe, but he left pretty young and doesn't remember it well. He spent some time just trying to survive, and doesn't really consider anywhere specific to be "home", which is a bit of a downer, but it's definitely in a "home is other people" sense.
He does go back there for story reasons (still working out the logic since Stormblood is his villain arc, admittedly), but it's a weird experience for him, which is made weirder by how much NPC dialogue there is specific to Xaela (Hien's "you may not have been born here" line actually really rubs him the wrong way).
6. Has your WoL/OC ever canonically fantasia'd to another species? Have they considered doing so? If so, what made them choose that species? How does that affect their relationships with those who were born as the species they changed into?
Sena has not; he's very protective of his horns and scales and losing them again would weird him out.
If he did Fantasia, he'd probably be a catboy. Not much reason behind this other than it just feels right.
Working on a path…
Saw Spiderverse earlier and can’t stop thinking about it. I understand now.
big fan of when grief drives characters to do fucked up things that are ultimately pointless and do more harm than good rather than just like. going to therapy
I’m also a writer! I am not writing! I am following tumblr accounts!
