Sorry I haven't posted I was transported out of the universe for a bit anyways here's some For The Future textposts
I hate Belos but I gotta admit those AU's where he's got a frenemy relationship with Luz and Hunter are kind of interesting
THIS
Hunter isn't my favorite (he's a cool character with cool development, I'm just drawn to other characters more) but I absolutely LOVE the portrayal of abuse and trauma through him and how it's handled so well and so realistically. I absolutely adore realism, especially in cartoons (especially kids cartoons like it's great man) and I just love how real all of it feels. His reactions are nothing less than understandable and even if you don't relate to what he's going through you can understand. And the fact that he's a fictional character too and yet feels so realistic. This applies to so many cartoon characters, especially the characters on TOH, but Hunter is one of the best examples.
Even if you don't personally like Hunter, we can not ignore how realistic the representation of abuse, trauma response, etc. is when it comes to Hunter. As someone who is a victim of abuse, gaslighting, etc. and was also semi sheltered growing up, Hunter's demeanor and way of thinking is spot on (at least from my experience. it's important to note that one abuse experience isn't universal. This is why I think it's amazing that owl house has three different abuse victims).
It feels validating to have that shown on screen and not taunted or even done away with the next episode. Also appreciate the accurate representation of panic attacks

Season 3 of Amphibia is easily the most divisive season among the fanbase. There are a lot of different reasons for this but I think it primarily comes down to tone and pacing.
The reason why the issues with tone and pacing are so prominent is because of how it followed up True Colors. True Colors came in and seemed to promise that things would never be the same. It created a scenario for Anne and the Plantars that was very desperate. Sasha was left in Amphibia, Marcy had been stabbed (and for all they knew was dead), Amphibia was in imminent danger, and earth was going to be invaded next.
All of this should have created a massive sense of urgency and worry, but this doesn’t carry over very well into many of the episodes. The tonal whiplash that occurs when you watch True Colors and The New Normal back to back is massive. It goes from that gut punch of an ending to Anne being excited that she has wifi for the first time in months so quickly that it’s almost as if the characters forgot what happened.
When the show does address the sense of urgency the characters should have it is always on Anne’s end. Anne is the one staying up researching how to get back, Anne is the one trying to drop everything for new leads, Anne is the one losing sleep over the situation. The most the Plantars show on their end is homesickness.
They are frequently the ones telling Anne to be careful or calm down which seems odd because they should have very pressing and important reasons for wanting to get back beyond missing their home.
In season 2 the heroes’ lack of urgency made sense. They didn’t know about Andrias’ plans, the core, or Sasha’s toad rebellion. The episodes where they explored Newtopia or visited towns on their travels fit much better because of their gap in knowledge and like I said previously those episodes usually found a way to keep the story moving forward or have important character moments so that they rarely distracted from the plot.
In season 3 there’s too much hanging over the characters’ heads that they know about for it to feel organic watching the episodes back to back.
This isn’t to say that what happens on the earth half of the season is bad. The content is actually very enjoyable. Watching the role reversal between Anne and the Plantars is fun and we get to see even more of Anne’s culture and home life which is always a welcome addition.
The exploration of Anne’s family and culture is one of the best things about the first half of the season. The Thai Temple episode (Temple Frogs) in particular is one of my favorites.
It has Anne displaying the urgency that some episodes were missing while also addressing how Anne’s parents struggled during her time away and how their community kept them afloat. This strikes a balance that makes almost everything that happens feel important on an emotional level without losing sight of what this half of the season is building towards.

They can go into a corner and just stay there
I'm not hating on this person and I wanted to talk to them privately but I couldn't for some reason so I'm just gonna say this. I'm not worried about the views or that they'll cancel it again. Why would I be worried about the views? And plus, they won't cancel it again for the exact reason that the episodes are already paid for. That's pretty common knowledge. The reason this is such a big is because these are the last episodes of the owl house. There aren't gonna be anymore after this. I've been in this Fandom since season 2 came out and I've never seen something like this where people are posting the full episode everywhere and people leaking spoilers even when others say specifically not to leak them, like in the post I mentioned. Those aren't innocent fans, those are people who want to ruin the experience for everyone. I mean, the majority of the Fandom on multiple platforms are upset by this because it's really disrespectful and disappointing. And Dana thinks so too. Not to mention TheOwlClub posted the whole episode and made a whole apology post but still haven't taken the episode down, which given that they can put episodes up, I'm sure they can take them down as well. It's ruining the experience for everyone including all of the people who worked hard on this show and these last few episodes. The voice actors, the directors, the animators, the writers and Dana herself. So maybe it's nit the biggest deal in the world but it's still not fun when you want to experience something for yourself and it's ruined because people just won't listen. And honestly I think it's fine if people are understandably upset about it.
Bro- the amount of disrespect the Fandom has been protruding with For The Future has been insane.
But tbh I'm not all that surprised. There's always people like this in fandoms. It's awful, but atleast for me it isn't that surprising anymore.
The thing that gets me is that TheOwlClub released the episode. Just like they did with True Colors. It's one thing to make that mistake once, but twice? At that point is doesn't seem like a mistake.
They made a whole post regarding everything and apologized, which is nice, but the episode is still up on their website. "Maybe they haven't had time to take it down yet!" They posted it yesterday. I have seen people say that and oh no, they've had plenty of time to take it down.
Maybe it was a mistake, and they didn't mean to upload the episode. But they still did and now I'm seeing spoilers and the full video all over YouTube. This is honestly awful. Last few episodes and no one can respect that. Not to mention that cute message Dana made with the titles "Thanks For Watching" and now "fans" are uploading it everywhere and spoiling it.
I saw a post on YouTube about someone posting a picture of Luz's palisman being that purple cloud and said "If you know what it is don't spoil it!" And luckily most respected that, just commenting "It's really cute and creative, that's all I'm gonna say" and stuff like that. But then there were people in the replies revealing what it was, and they were all doing it multiple times.
God, I can't blame Dana for being pissed. This is just so disrespectful. I know it's just a show, but it has already been disrespected enough, with season 3 being cut short and the LGBTQ+ rep being censored in other countries just so Disney can get their precious pennies.
Like, imagine wanting to make a show, actually getting to do it, the last season being cut short and just as you were telling hundreds of fans who enjoyed the show "Despite the last season being cut short it was still great to create a show!" And promoting a website that showed your episodes, just for those fans and that website to bite you. That must sting.
Edit cause I'm still very mad: Saw someone on here post spoilers with no tag and said "haters dni" like dude we're not haters we're actual fans. I know what I just said is super cringey but that's just how I feel. A very impolite screw you to them and everyone else acting like this :]
Everything
what is wrong with him
No but for a hot second I thought this was like a screenshot from the show this is REALLY good
And the pink in her hair fading into the red is a really nice touch
My first attempt drawing Vi! I plan to keep attempting the shading style and characters until i get it good! Stay tuned for when I post my next practice piece!
It feels so good when you have a headcannon and learn that it's actually canon or atleast canon in some way cause I had a headcannon that Hunter was created at 3 or 4 (cause Belos is NOT taking care of an infant like everyone knows this for a fact) and then Dana had to come out and say Hunter was 3 when he was born hshdgdhsj
I'm just a tad happy.
