Yeah, like, it makes sense when a large boat uses a larger texture, an hourglass that you see for like... 10 seconds.. not so much, if you can encompass details in smaller textures to the point none of them would be lost... better to do that than have 2k Textures for a piece of deco clutter that's gonna be used a lot but barely occupies the space of a slot
I was curious and decided to summarily investigate the base game's heaviest textures.
Most are 1024x1024. However, the urn sculpture is 512x2048:
Also, the Grim Reaper's hourglass' texture is uselessly big:
His ass is not respecting "texture size roughly matching the size of the object on the screen" !! lol
Edit: I initially did not look at EPs. PineappleForest pointed out the Bon Voyage pirate ship uses two 2k textures. Looking through EP files, I also found three for the Freetime basketball courts. Considering the sizes of these objects, a fair use.
(In general I find that the textures from later EPs are better in general 🤔 like you don't see the flat floodfilling you have in some base game textures.)
I made some eye bag/tired eye make up for one particular sim but I liked how they looked on everyone so I use it a lot. It comes in 10 colors (Used AlfredAskew's lip color actions, deleted the ones that were too neon pink)

Could the reason the hair is so fug simplistic is because it will be animated? If so, I wonder what this would mean for CC hair creators like Newsea. Pardon my ignorance, I know nothing of meshing and animating. I’m just assuming the more simple the hair, the easier to animate. (Really not a fan of the textures and shine though tbh.)
The hair is literally the only thing I don’t like about what I’ve seen from Sims 4 so far. I mean, look at those brows! They’re fab! And those eyes! They look so much better than the EA defaults in TS3. Even the skin looks better (from what I can see, kinda hard to tell without close ups).
Howdy, How is everyone? So, what’s this one about? Well, it works the same as Barista Plus, Except not really. This is the Proxy GUID version of Barista Plus. So a while back, a bit around the original release of Barista Plus, some people have inquired about making it better by instead of looking at a bunch of individual GUIDs, it should look for a Proxy GUID, kind of like what Argon’s Instruments does, and that has been sitting on the back of my head for a while, but It wasn’t something I was actively working on since the original release of Barista Plus. That Changed last week, when @itsdiamondeyesuniverse slid into my DMs and found some interesting information about Proxy GUID, and after a couple of hours and days with plenty of help from @midgethetree, here arrives the Rebrewed version of Barista Plus.
Edit (Because I forgot to put a quick description of what the original Barista Plus did): What the original Barista Plus (and this one too) does is that it allows Baristas to spawn in Custom Espresso Bars, what changes is how the mod does so. For specifics, the Mod looks at all objects for a specific GUID (the Fallback GUID located in the 0,0 position object) which for most of the espresso bars, that does not change at all, and it spawns the barista if the conditions are met, like I said, same deal as Barista Plus, except this one doesn’t look at only eleven GUIDs, or so, but to all instances of the same fallback GUID. Now for a bit of a warning, like I said, this GUID is going to look at *All* objects, which means it might caused some lag, that didn’t happened when I tested it, but if you have a CC Heavy Game, feel free to tell me if it does. Happy 20th anniversary to The Sims 2! I absolutely love The Sims 2 and how this game was treated. Every platform for it provides different, unique gameplay and lore. Out of all the PC versions, this is the one I tend to gravitate towards. There's just something about it. So here's a gift to celebrate it! This gift consists of 9 conversions (+ an extra of the Torchemada Wall Torch to include a flipped version) from The Sims console and The Sims Bustin' Out. This was heavily inspired by the master bedroom at the Goth Manor location, also in spirit of Halloween coming up! Please let me know if there’s any issues!

Okay, so i’ve been away for a while (what, 4, 5 years...), at least on Tumblr, i’ve still been showing up on some forums, Mostly The Keep, where i use my old moniker of Sonikku3, The Sims Daily, been there for the last days, will be missed and a couple more here and there, so I wasn’t away, away, just slightly inactive
I have been posting on the Keep for a while, my livejournal has recieved updates, although not as daily, and I haven’t been making as much CC as i’d like, And as much as i’d like to say I want to start doing thins again, it’s probably going to be in small spurts
Probably it will be more sims 2 focused, might go back to 3 CC someday, Sims 4 in not out of the realm of possibilities, but my relationship with that game is... I don’t want to say complicated, but for a lot of features it moves two steps forward, it goes 3 steps back on others... and it just miffs me in a sense, I want to like the game, but then I do get nitpicky with things, oh well, Seasons are coming i’ve seen
i’l probably make a more general tumblr for other games and stuff, and another one for my endeavors as a game dev (been studying game design in college folks, for those of you who’ve been wondering)
other than that, i’ve been doing fine, so, yeah, i’ll be seeing you around
