Lurking Fear (1994) has got some of the most untapped potential that I've ever seen in a B-rated horror movie. Like, there are so many aspects of it that could have been really cool, but the only real thing it delivered was an awesome Jeffery Combs performance (as if there's any other kind).
The designs for the monsters are actually pretty cool as long as they aren't lingered on for too long. For the majority of the movie, their pretty spooky because they're only seen briefly as they attack before they disappear. We only see the maimed townsfolk and the aftermath. But then that one started talking and I kid you not, I almost dropped to the floor I was laughing so hard. The delivery of "You called me Satan >:(" in that stupid deep evil voice was too much for me man.
Almost everything else sucked.
I take back everything I said. 104 and Larry's musical number is the cutest thing I've ever seen and therfore I love this episode. It's like a sequel to People Like Us, but he actually gets to sing and be happy!!
Also, the ending number was kinda sick.
The only word I can think of to describe The Mysterious Benedict Society tv show is:
✨️charming✨️
It looks really nice with the color used and a lot of the cinematography. The story's nice and cute (I know I'm going to get killed for saying this, but I've never read the series so I didn't mind season two lol).
I hadn't seen Tony Hale in anything other than Hocus Pocus 2 (which was a great movie, I just wasnt a fan of his character), so I wasn't expecting him to absolutely rock.
Sucks that it got cancelled and purged off of Disney+ because they would have made a profit just off of me rewatching it over and over again.
I've got good news and I've got bad news:
The good news is that I'm no longer on my hands and knees crawling after Jeffrey Combs.
The bad news is that that particular obsession has been replaced with Tony Hale.
Thank You.
I loved your Mid-Nite Shade story! It made my shipper brain happy.
Yoo!!! I'm so glad! I was gonna answer your comment today as well! It's so funny because you're occasional Swift/McNider posts are what keep me thinking about them.
I just started the original All Creatures Great and Small series. I think it's really great and charming so far, but I'm only on episode 2 and they've already killed a horse and a dog. Idk if I have the mental fortitude if it's going to be an every episode thing.
Are they bringing in the Animated DC Shorts as well?! Because I remember cracking up at the Blue Beetle/Question one which i think is this version of the Question. I also remember that there was one that followed Constatine's punishment for resetting the Animated movies timeline, but aren't timelines different from multiverses when talking about this kind of thing?
And then bringing it back to Huntress×Question, are we going to get a Jeffrey Combs cameo? In that case, it could mean either cameo for the sake of a cameo, a Batman the Brave and the Bold crossover (he voiced the Question in the Batman/Scooby Doo crossover which opens even more cans of worms) or a crossover with the DCAU (Bruce Timmverse)
They can't keep doing this to me. I can't keep doing this to myself.
(also it seems like Huntress is going to be in this movie as well so hopefully there will be some Huntress and Question interactions!)
I'm going to claw my eyes out, but it's what I get for easdropping I guess.
I'm waiting for my next class rn and not even an hour ago I was talking to a friend about Tony Hale winning that Children's Emmy about a month ago. Now some other film majors are taking about Alvin and the Chipmunks: Road Trip and referring to him as Buster Bluth.
Put me in coach!
Since Agatha All Along is ending tonight I guess, may I offer another Marvel show with Aubrey Plaza in it?
For all of you who love her psycho but sometimes soft and intimate portrayal of Rio/Death:
May I suggest a more mature show in which she plays a character named Lenny, a character who is both torturer and friend to the main protagonist. That shows name?
The show follows David Haller (Professor X's son) as he battles with the Shadow King for control over his own mind. Lenny is David's friend at the mental hospital in which he is a patient, and then becomes one of the Shadow Kings minions. Across the three seasons, Plaza has some of the most amazing and visually stunning scenes throughout the entire show, which is really saying something.
Without revealing too much, her characters development is amazing, as is everyone character in the show.
(Minus the fuck ass blue eyes she gets later on)
Of course, all of the characters are wonderful and complex in this series, but I just wanted to connect it to AAA in case people were interested.
(This is a desperate attempt to get people who will talk about Legion with me)
When will there be official art of my pookie?
Terrible jokes and ramblings and OH GOD, THE PAIN! THE UNENDURABLE AGONY! (howdy)
