I’ve had a recent epiphany about some of the murder drones fandom’s feelings about N’s character and this is the one place where I really share my thoughts about these kinda things so here are some more crazed ramblings.
Many fans (primarily men but I’ll get to that later) find N very boring and one dimensional. They complain that he’s “just Uzi’s sidekick” and he’s “too nice” and while I personally love the way N’s written there is a reason why they think that.
In most media women are written as more flat, static characters while men are written as much more complex and interesting (a reason why in general mlm ships are much more popular than wlw ships). In murder drones however, it’s nothing like that. In murder drones the female leads are just as, if not much more interesting than the very few male characters. While N is still interesting being one of the most important characters he’s much less so than characters like Nori, V, and Uzi.
Because this is nearly a direct flip of the usual narrative, specifically men view N’s writing as unnaturally flat (show me one youtube video critiquing N’s character that didn’t come from a man). This is most likely because while men get the main characters of every story, most women are already comfortable with the one dimensional, girly sidekick.
Also, this isn’t just specific to just N either. You can see it with every single male character in this show. For example, Thad will never seem as compelling as Lizzy with her relationships with both Doll and V. Khan and his door and bad parenting skills will never be as interesting as his wife and kid with telekinesis and eldritch horror possession. And every single other male character is a background character.
Sorry for rambling but in summary there’s nothing wrong with N’s character, it’s just as well written as the female characters but since that’s not usually the case he seems boring in comparison.

Ok but Lizzy’s 100% a lesbian, right? Like, in the credits she refers to Doll as “Babe-a-tron Queenthousand”, calls V “hot”, has an affectionate nickname for V on her phone, she’s leaning against V’s shoulder towards the end of the last ep and they’re sharing earbuds, she’s always taking V’s side and trying to be liked by her, etc. etc.
This is a LESBIAN, bro, what in the Regina George theory???
