I hate when I’m in an argument with a calypso defender and they say smth like “but what about Nico?! He’s just like calypso!”

Nope! Let’s bring in the good old Greek mythology! The best way to sum up the lotus flowers/lotus casino in one sentence in epic the musical! Quote “It's a lotus, it controls your mind and never lets you free”

Which is literally what the lotus flower does. The flower eaten causes forgetfulness and makes them loose their desire to return home. Nico was 10. He was a literal CHILD. Not teen, not pre-teen, CHILD.

The lotus casino pushes the lotus flowers into the air so they forget how long they’ve stayed there for. 70 years in the real world could be two weeks for Bianca and Nico. But the difference between Nico and calypso is one thing.

Nico didn’t mentally or emotionally grow up. Calypso did.

Yes both their ages stayed the same but Nico still was mentally a child. A 10 year old. Calypso is immortal and knew what was happening and mentally and emotionally matured, Nico did not.

Nico literally didn’t know what was happening but calypso DID. Yes technically Nico would be a senior citizen but he didnt mentally, physically or emotionally developed while in the lotus casino. Calypso did.

Now I do sympathize with calypsos curse, it’s terrible, but that shouldn’t be an excuse to defend her from the terrible things she has done.
