Shoto needs you to be gentle with him, especially after suffering years of abuse from his father and his complicated relationship with his mother. The poor thing just needs love. Out of all the characters, I honestly see him as the one most in need of affection—a definite little spoon. Even if you raise your voice at him, just the slightest bit during a disagreement, his different colored eyes go all sad. Be gentle with the poor thing.

He really enjoys the feeling of your hands in his two toned hair, so he’ll lay down on your lap while you rub his head. He’s very patient and sweet, but he also gets his feelings hurt very easily—not by most people, just by you, so you have to be careful with his emotions because he has a tender heart.

He needs physical touch—he likes to be held tightly in his sleep. He enjoys feeling compressed against you. His favorite position is when you're behind him, his back facing your chest, with your arms tightly around his waist and your face buried in the back of his neck.This position is perfect for both of you because you can hear each other’s hearts beating due to the proximity. It helps drown out his thoughts. Also screw blankets because due to his quirk his body is really warm (at least the left side anyway).

He likes to buy you things. Every type of love language—physical touch, gift giving, acts of kindness, quality time, and acts of service—he loves them all, both giving and receiving. He needs to be able to spend time with you. A great example of quality time is when he specifically used his name to pull strings after becoming a pro hero, getting you on his crew because he didn’t want to be away from you. Since he knew he wouldn’t be home often, he’d rather be away with you, that way he never really had to be away from home because you are his home, in a way.

He always tells you how pretty you are, how much he loves you, and how much you light up his world and make him happy. Ever since you got into a relationship, the boy smiles so much more.

He also needs words of reassurance because he gets insecure. He’ll buy you presents randomly—necklaces, bracelets, simple but cute ones with both of your initials on them.

He doesn’t like you buying expensive things for him because it makes him feel guilty, but it means a lot to him when you buy him chocolate and treats he likes. He has a soft spot for sweets, and it’s nice to see him excited. He usually appears so monotone, but when he’s excited over you, it’s obvious.

He loves you more than anything, and every action, every little gesture, is a reflection of that.

it catches him off guard. you guys are just laying in your bed scrolling on your own phones. he didn't even feel you staring at him. how long have you been looking?

"thanks?" he replies

"no i mean seriously like drop the lash serum." you joke at him as you continue to observe him.

they're long and thick. the kind of lashes that have a natural curl, unlike yours, that fall straight down and take several minutes to curl to your perfect liking. not to mention the layers of mascara you apply to get them to even remotely look like his.

he turns his head to you and you don't miss his dilated pupils as his eyes bore into yours. you take note of how the lashes perfectly frame his eyes. and you're so jealous.

but then an idea pops into your head, you smile to yourself and he senses it coming.

"can i-"

"no" he cuts you off.

"babe please you don't even know what i was about to say!" you grab onto his shoulder as you plead.

"whatever it is im sure it's going to be bad." he retorts, turning his face away from you and going back on his phone.

"i'll buy you you're favorite food."

and that's how you end up here on his lap with your mascara in your hand. his hair is pushed back as his hands rest on your hips, drawing small circles as he awaits your actions.

you open the bottle with the black liquid and bring the wand close to his eyes. "don't move" you whisper and he listens. mainly because he's scared that you're going to poke his eye out as you bring the wand to the base of his eyelashes and wiggle it slowly before moving it up to coat the length of the lashes. some of the mascara gets on his eyelids. you repeat the actions on the other eye before going back and doing a second coat. you can tell that he might be slightly nervous that you're going to blind him with the way he holds his breath and the grip he has on your hips get ever so slightly tighter.

you move yourself off his lap and he goes to grab his phone so he can see what he looks like.

"wait no not yet, i'm still not done" you say as you go and grab ur q-tips and micellar water.

"still?"

"yes still, i need to clean up the mascara on your eyelids," you say as you place yourself back on his lap. you open the bottle of micellar water and carefully put the clear liquid on the q-tip. you bring the white stick of cotton to his eyes and you tell him to close them. he feels the wet cotton and it's a weird feeling. you watch the q-tip turn darker the more mascara you wipe off.

"okay i'm done!" you say and he opens his eyes and you don't think he's ever looked more majestic. his already long lashes looking even longer and bolder now that he has the mascara to bring them out. you notice that the color of his eyes pop more. "you look so pretty" you smile as lean in to pepper kisses along his face. his cheeks feel warm and he can already tell that they're probably red.

he reaches over to his phone and opens the camera app and switches the camera so he can see himself. and he immediatly notices the stark difference in his eyes with the mascara. he brings his fingers to his lashes to touch them. it feels weird and his eyes kind of feel weighed down. but he has no regrets when he sees you smiling at him so fondly.

"they look nice." he smiles at you, dropping his phone to the side.

"i know right, ugh im so jealous i wish i had your lashes. all my problems would be solved." you say, thinking about the long and excruciating lash routine you perform every morning.

"all of them?"

"yes, all of them."

he chuckles at your words. "alright, but can you take it off now, it feels weird." he says, hands coming to touch his lashes again. you pout as you grab the micellar water you put away and a cotton pad and remove the mascara from his eyelashes, being gentle so that he doesn't lose a few. he appreciates the action. and maybe he would let you put more than just mascara on his face another day.

a/n: it’s literally a dream that i quite had a second ago and i’m writing this as soon as i woke up with my eyes half opened and all .. embarrassing really but i gotta keep the dream as a memory somehow so this is all just word vomit and what i could remember. not proofread. my read more button doesnt work on mobile T_T

cuddling against your boyfriend’s chest in the middle of the living room trying to get comfortable on the leather couch, you watched him scroll through his phone giggling.

curious, you peeked a little and notice the weverse screen that you were familiar with. “would this be a cute reply?”, jake flashed you his bright screen which made you squint a little as you read ‘jakey loves you too’ on the comment box that hasn’t been sent out yet.

“why don’t you ever reply to mine,” you ask sulkingly but also meaning every word you had said because he’s about to begin a mention party on weverse right now while you were both supposedly going to sleep.

jake ignored you and began the chaos that was about to blow his notifications up which made you start a mini tantrum going “aaaahhhhhh”, “whyyy”, and the occasional “jakeyyy” while lightly hitting on his chest to get his attention with him only giggling a little as a response but keeping his straight face a second later.

wanting an answer, you pulled out your own phone to enter the weverse app and joined the engenes in hopes to get the attention of your boyfriend on the internet too.

commenting all sorts of compliments, questions, stories you could ever think of at the moment which could beat the simple 'i love you jake’ from an engene which started this entire thing.

“see, look this is my username”, copying his movement earlier as you shoved your phone directly towards his face. “plus you’ve always known it- its the one that says ’jakeyismypuppy1115’.. i need a reply please please plea- don’t make me snatch your phone right now to do it”, whining even further as you shake his body which was almost falling off the couch if he wasn’t supporting himself.

“jakeyyyyyy~ why won’t you reply to me… i wanna show it off on my fan account on twitter too pleaaaaaswwe im about to off myself if you don’t,” earning another giggle from him however his face remained sterned after a light cough. “it’s not funny,” you tried to be serious, frowning at him.

“i won’t reply to you.” was all he had responded.

“wha.. why..”, pushing yourself further away with your palm pressing on his chest to move yourself up.

jake removed his left arm which was supporting his head to type intensively into the weverse search bar more than ever before. “because what the hell is this,” not thinking much of it, you glanced your eyes to his screen.

it was your profile with the recent post dated a few days ago, apart from this moment’s fiasco of you trying to get jake’s attention online, the post made you cringe a little after realising what it said.

“heeseung-ah, i love you the most ! i hope you eat well, rest well, and is always happy ! i love u sooo much ure my favorite. i’ll always choose you ❤️”

he scrolled down a little more to show that heeseung, who is rarely online, had replied too. “heeseungie loves you too ☺️”.

it took you awhile to process it a little, and it finally hit you that you made the post after watching a youtube compilation of your boyfriend’s co-member which made you all happy inside as a fan and nothing more.

you didn’t expect heeseung to reply to your post either. you were joyful that he did and bragged it on twitter, but it didn’t stuck into your mind forever since you technically forgot it happened. jake’s reply would matter to you more.

on heeseung’s side however, he and all of the other boys knew of your weverse account from how jake would always reply to yours which raised some suspicion and later confirmed when jungwon saw the app left open on your phone with the profile flashing your username.

heeseung found the comment to be sweet and endearing, he loves you like the closest friend who has always been there for his bestfriend and the team even before debut.

your reminiscing thoughts were then killed by jake pouting at you with the post still up in your face.

“jakey.. i didn’t mean tha- wait i did, i think heeseung deserves all the good things in life but i love you the most more than him,” trying to comfort him, not caring about the app hybe created now.

he knew that you only meant well and was happy to know that you were a good person that likes his group as a whole.

jake, still determined with his plan in making you love him more than heeseung, even though you already do, continued sulking and crossing his arms away from you, staring into the silent tv.

you hugged him as tight as the koalas he had seen back in australia and a bunch of apologies + i love yous came running out your cute lips profusely.

your boyfriend wasn’t budging at all which made you even more frustrated, you knew he was just being playful though from the countless of times he tried not to laugh.

giving up, you sat on the couch as he was still laying and proceeded to go over his body and walk to the kitchen in hopes to find heeseung somewhere eating ramen to prove jake that you were both just a couple of besties.

however the area was empty realising that the entire group left the two of you alone for some privacy, and that they would rather be outside than to see any form of pda.

your brain was wired to make milo, an australian chocolate drink, for your boyfriend as another cute form of “please love me and give me attention”.

it was hard to reach the mugs knowing that riki purposely made it higher for laughs and gags. a little more and you’d be able to grab the spider-man mug that belonged to your baby jakey.

like any cliché, a hand made way to your waist as you felt your boyfriend’s body lightly pressed against your back reaching for the cup that you were both eyeing for.

placing the blue spider-man mug in front of you with his right hand on your side fulling back hugging you now as he whispered, “i love you” with his soft lips touching the shell of your ear making you turn your head around from the tickling feeling.

with your body finally facing him, you cupped his cheeks and stared into his sparkly eyes. your thumbs grazing his soft skin and fingers moving his unkept fringe a little from the nap you both had in the afternoon, admiring all of his features before giving him a kiss.

not knowing that your phone was blowing up in the living room from the weverse notifications you were getting.

UNDERSTAND | CHAPTER 4: u mean *OUR girlfriend

“right this way ma’am.” you follow a producer through a park located by the han river. it was a gorgeous day outside, perfect for whatever was planned for you and this mystery date. “are you nervous?” the producer asks you with a smile. all you can do is put your best idol face on and tell him that you’re excited.

it wasn’t a complete lie but you weren't exactly sure what you were feeling at the moment. a bundle of nerves, anticipation, and anxiety were all jumbled in the pit of your stomach. in just a few short minutes, you were finally going to meet your “husband.” what if you said something stupid? what if you tripped over your own feet and fell on your face? your career would be over before it’s even gotten started, you think to yourself.

running our hands over your light purple dress, you focus on smoothing out any wrinkles as a way to de-stress. first impressions meant a lot to you and you couldn’t have anything out of place, especially if your partner was cute (which you really hope he is). when there were no more wrinkles in sight, you were stopped by the producers. “alright, when we say action just keep walking and act as natural as possible? got it?” you simply nod your head and get yourself ready to film. you should be used to the cameras at this point, but it always takes a bit of time to adjust.

once the cameras start rolling, you continue walking and spot bright, pink bows wrapped around the trees. you look at the crew with a confused smile. they gesture for you to keep going, so you follow the trail of trees with the cute bows. the decor eventually leads you to an open area with a blanket on the ground, holding an assortment of snacks and foods. you sit on a cushion and take a moment to look at everything laid out before you

you’ve been on many picnics before with your members but none as extravagant as this one. the white blanket and pillows are the softest you’ve ever felt and there are so, so many types of foods displayed that must’ve cost a pretty penny. perks of having a production crew funding your dates you guess.

from behind you, jay slowly walks up with the big bouquet in his hands. though no one could tell, jay was just as nervous as you were. he makes himself believe it’s because he’s afraid you wouldn’t like what he planned. did he go too simple? were you one for more fancier meals? he thinks it's just the pressure of the date turning out well for the views and he’s definitely not nervous about who you could be. no, he doesn’t care at all. he just needs to get through this first filming so he can go back to the dorms to play games with his members.

at this point, jay is so close, but you have no clue since you’re still admiring everything around you. you swear you could hear the staff giggling in the distance but before you could question it, someone’s arms wrap around you while setting a bouquet of white flowers on your lap. a gasp leaves your lips and you turn around, finally seeing the face of your husband for the first time.

park jongseong. your pretend husband for the next couple of months is no other than park. jongseong. realizing you haven’t moved in what felt like an eternity, you quickly stand up making sure to bow to him. even though you’re internally freaking out, you don’t forget your manners (you also don’t forget how disastrous it would be for a rookie idol getting caught not respecting their senior.) “uhh hi. I’m park jongseong, but you can call me jay.” his hand reaches for yours to give a firm handshake and your skin becomes hot by this little interaction. your brain is short circuiting because what the fuck? THE park jay not only touched your hand but also had his arms wrapped around you? yeah, you definitely weren’t surviving the day.

affter getting over your mental breakdown, you finally find the words to introduce yourself. “hi! i’m yn. thanks for the flowers by the way, they’re beautiful.” jay doesn’t miss the wide smile adorning your lips and he mentally thanks heeseung for the suggestion. “well shall we?” he gestures for you two to sit down and start eating the picnic food. there’s an awkward yet comforting silence in the air as you guys are enjoying the delicious treats the crew prepared.

jay notices how every two minutes you have to adjust the bag on your lap that’s covering your legs. stupid, stupid, stupid he thinks to himself. he hated that his idea of a picnic could’ve made you even a little uncomfortable in your pretty dress. he moves to take his jacket off and drapes it over to cover you and for the second time today, jay’s actions surprise you. the kind gesture makes your heart swell and you can’t help but blush.

“so…”

“so…”

“this is kind of awkward, isn’t it?” you ask with a nervous laugh. “ i mean yeah, but don’t first dates always start out like this?” you nod your head and look away for a moment, spotting both of your managers taking photos of you guys. putting your attention back on jay, you shrug your shoulders. “I wouldn’t know i’ve never been on one.” when jay says he hasn’t been on one as well, you feel yourself relax. It comforts you that you both don't know what the hell you’re doing here.

after that exchange you find it quite easy to converse with jay. you match each other’s energies, quickly becoming comfortable enough to tease one another. the two of you start getting to know each other better with topics ranging from trainee days to what your personality types are.

a little later you express how it’d be a nice day to take pictures but your phone had died on the way there. upon hearing that, jay surprises you for a third time, offering to take pictures for you on his phone. “we have to exchange contacts anyways so i’ll send them to you. it’s no biggie.”

jay wishes he got a staff member or manager to take pictures of you because he’s finding it really hard to complete this simple task. taking pictures is like second nature to him but suddenly he can’t bring himself to focus. not when you’re standing right in front of him looking so pretty while posing with the flowers HE got for you. pretty? did he just call you pretty? he won’t lie to himself. you’re a gorgeous woman, anyone would be blind to not see that. he pushes those thoughts to the back of his head, leaving them to deal with later.

“and cut! okay good job guys. we’ll see you next time.” the producer’s voice rings in your ears and you’re reminded that this whole time you were filming. the awkward energy between you and jay returns and you’re not sure what to do next. “thanks for everything jay. i really enjoyed myself today.”

“it was my pleasure, really. i had a lot of fun too. i’ll text you the pictures later, yeah?” you two bid each other goodbye and as you’re walking back to the van your manager nudges your shoulder. “so, jay huh?” you playfully roll your eyes at his statement and try to fight the smile creeping onto your lips.

you can hear the faint fluttering of the pages of his textbook, your coffee running cold, his phone buzzing somewhere in the room but he couldn’t care less and you’re where you shouldn’t be— on his bed, straddling him, hands everywhere they could reach on him. “you taste so sweet, baby,”

you’d argue it’s the cherry candy you were having before arriving at his place, although it’s taste must’ve been diluted by the few sips of coffee you’ve had. you pull back, eyes glazing over his flushed cheeks and swollen lips, strands of hair falling over his forehead, dishevelled by your fingers that are still lost in his soft locks.

it’s moments like this when you wish you could forget all your responsibilities and give into your urges, into him, who looks at you with eyes gleaming with thrill and the cutest smile. you brush your finger over his lower lip, almost kissing him again before looking at him. “we should get back to studying,”

and you can swear he mutters something under his breath, something you can’t quite catch but his disappointment is evident. your heart skips a beat when you feel his hands tighten around your waist, pulling you flush against himself. “please, angel. not tutoring me one day won’t make me fail,”

he’s doing it again— the puppy eyes and pouty lips, one that are still slightly red from your previous make out and urgent kisses. it’s impossible to ignore him when he’s looking at you with such desperation, breath slightly ragged from your previous manoeuvres. not a word falls off his mouth but his eyes are practically pleading you to let him continue, begging to let him kiss you again and to savour the taste of your strawberry tinted lip balm along with the coffee and cherry settled on your tongue. 

“jake,” you try to be firm, holding onto that last string that is keeping your sanity together. it’s maddening to ignore him when he’s looking so pretty, with eyes that are glistening with anticipation and especially when his fingers are slipping under your top, drawing soft circles on your waist. “your mom could up upstairs any time,” 

“door’s locked,” he insists, leaning in for a quick peck, or a kiss, if you hadn’t pulled back. he almost whines, dipping his head to your neck to plant wet, sloppy kisses. “please baby, i’ve been so good and patient…i’ve waited a whole week to see you and i did well on my tests. don’t i deserve a reward?” 

his voice sends your heart into a frenzy. you’re not even done pulling yourself together from it and he’s already nibbling on your collar bones while you’re trying your best to not make any sounds. “i’ve been—” his lips move up to your jaw, “so—” and then all the way up to your mouth, pulling your lower lip gently between his teeth. “—good.”

and jake does everything with such effortless eloquence and tenderness that it blurs your perception of what’s right and wrong. you should be teaching him biology, but you pull him into a searing kiss instead, feeling him basically melt under your touch when your fingers cup his cheeks, a touch go gentle yet ever so needy. 

“you better be quiet,” you warn between the kiss and he swallows his words along with your soft moan that escapes your mouth when he pushes his tongue past your lips with practised ease. you feel him smirk at the way your actions betray the words that leave your mouth, but jake is too busy being lost in you to care about anything else.

he hums against your lips, hands wandering over you as if not wanting to leave any spot untouched. he pulls back and tilts your chin up, planting a chaste kiss on your lips. “anything for you, princess,”

Heeseung

Nap time with Heeseung is mix of comfort and chaotic-ness. He loves cuddling with you which is no surprise. Something tells me before you two actually nap, he’s probably on his phone playing a game. Trying his best not to disturb you as you give into your tiredness.

Let’s be honest though, he isn’t the best at being quiet for too long. He’s cheering as he passes this level of the game he’s been grinding on for god knows how long. With that being said though, you’ll pat his chest softly as a reminder that he needs to be more quiet. Muttering a sorry to you and goes back to his game.

Did I mention, he loves having you lay on his chest? It makes him feels all warm and that he can protect you from things. A somewhat foolish belief but it helps him feel better. If there’s one thing he can do for you, it’s making sure you get rest when you need it. Y’all are both hard-workers, so it’s quite easy for you two to get so lost in the zone leaving no time to actually sit down & live life.

Before he joins you in dreamland, he’ll pepper your face with kisses. To the best of his ability, he’ll also try to bring the blanket closer to cover you - wanting to make sure you don’t get to cold. Somehow throughout the nap time, you get off of Heeseung’s chest and end up next to him. But whenever he feels like you’re the tiniest bit too far away from him, he brings you in closer.

In the case that he wakes up before you and realizes that it’s now dinnertime. Instead of waking you up gently, Heeseung decides to jump on the bed and shake you awake. Besides at this point in y’all’s relationship, he knows that you’d sleep through the gentle shaking or nudging. He unfortunately has been left with no choice but to wake you up as a child would. Not going to lie though, he sometimes enjoys it.

When your eyes finally flutter open to be met with Heeseung’s eyes glaring at you, you try not to scream. Lightly hitting him and asking what time it is. Only for you to hear what time it is and hitting again with “Why didn’t you wake me up earlier?? Now I’m not going to sleep tonight”. This always end up with him shrugging and telling you that he did try. Don’t worry, you end up apologizing as always and Heeseung knows you mean well. Sleeping at night with him is just as easy as it for both of you during nap time. Sure it might take a little longer but before you know it, the sun is already starting to rise when you wake up.
