I am planning on continuing it, dw! It's just that I have a bit of a request list at the moment so it will be a bit before I can work on yours. Have a great day/night!

Description: Being a god is hard when you're not the one with power. As you ponder this, a certain god comes to chat. (Dream x Reader)

[Read the rest under the cut]

{《☆》}

You spread your fingers wide, feeling the familiar curls of magic spread over your mortal form, encompassing it in more power than a normal mortal could handle. The withering grape vines held delicately in your hands come back to life, bright green leaves embued with your power blessing whoever decided to use them with the finest wine for years to come.

And as it always did when you used your magic to save your lifeblood, another god came to see who was messing with his.

"You again," Dream said, their mask fixed over their pointed nose, ever-calm and regal. "This is the fifth time this hour?"

"These are new and they are so weak. I must save their vineyard, they supply my biggest followers." You cast another hand to a few weak vines, thumbing a crumbling leaf between your fingers as it's too far gone death decays once more. "The nation is suffering from X-dee's happiness, for it has not stormed in many a night. If this goes on even the child cannot sing these plants better."

"I suppose that is true," The overseer of death looks upon the rows of decaying life and they sigh. They lift their own hand above yours, resting softly on top of yours as he pushes his magic into the air. For all the mortals' cries, Dream is not the god of death. He is the overseer and he is the judge but he is still fair and he is kind. The plant hums beneath your finger, back to life easier than it's known in weeks. "The mortals do not deserve your kindness, O'estatic one. They are greedy and one day they will mark their own end."

"And one day, albeit far later than theirs, so will we," You flip your hand to press your palm to his, sharing the most emotions in the easiest way godhood allowed. "We are not all-lasting as Chaos or Order, we are simply here as long as humans will it so. And not all humans are thieves or scoundrels, and not all thieves are scum amongst angels. As most humans are, I've found them to be complex."

You turn to your plants, sighing as you trail a vine. "Such fickle things, letting such irrationality guide their lives for so long, letting fear and indecisiveness plague their thought when if they thought to ration, would find people do not simply hate them for breathing. For what reason for plants if not humans to enjoy them, a fine wine such as the ones we lay to be created may never be tasted and appreciated because the right person decided for everyone else that nobody wanted them. I find that they are horrible things, but not for their own vile acts, but for the ones coming from a wrongfully good place."

"I haven't had such time to think like that," Dream admits, coming to your side. Here, so close to you, he tips the mask back from his face. Such opposing foes as yourselves, to think of each other as so close. Their lips are parted ever so slightly, his gaze focused on nothing as his mind runs.

"I only ever have time," You sigh, fixing the gold bands on your wrists. "You run a kingdom, I run a vineyard. Time is not something you come about sparingly, not without reason."

"So what is your reason?" Dream turns to you, his human-like freckles standing out amongst pale skin. It was always ironic to you, how someone who looked so human was so disconnected from them. The thought never lingered long,  drowned out by prayers from newly-wed wives asking to be blessed with child or for drunkards for the best wine, sometimes even from the occasional person questioning their gender and pleading for advice from the god known as their patron. "Surely a god as kind as you would have loyal followers."

You shake your head ruefully. "The drought has either killed them all away or shown the ones whose faith had always been waivered. When I showed no help in ending it, even if only for it being out of my control, they had chosen their stance and switched patronage." Now your time was filled with visiting your still loyal followers, as few and far in between as they were. Laying small blessings upon the bastard child's head for green thumbs and fixing a quick wine for the laboured mother who wished for a break.

Dream frowned, emotions so humane they were written like scriptures upon his face and detailed in his eyes curve and forehead wrinkles. "I apologize, O'estatic one. I had not thought of how the drought might've affected the ones still based here."

"It is my hometown," You shake your head even if Dream does not understand the meaning behind your words. "Perhaps I was not raised here but my mother's blood spilt on these holy grounds for me to be born godly. I will bless these as my home for as long as the land remains."

"I'm aware," Dream shakes his head although he does not argue. Fixing a gentle stare over the vineyard, he extends his arm to you. "Our work has been done for today though. Come for a visit to my kingdom. It has been a while since our last dinner."

"Alright," You place your hand gently on his forearm and like a godly voice had not saved these plants, disappeared within a gentle breeze of wind.

Description: You, Eret, and Dean go to the upcoming Aether festival. It turns out way more romantic than planned. (Eret x m!reader) (requested by @oofy-woofy and @djaynightmare )

[Read the rest under the cut]

{《☆》}

There is something so exhilarating about doing something dangerous, especially when it's forbidden. And nothing fits that description more than your little rendevous with Eret.

You breathe a breathy little sigh at his name in your head. You know it goes against just about every rule book in the kingdom but at this point, you don't care. You love him, maybe you have for a while.

it's frightening to think about loving someone as important as Eret. It's a risk and right now you're the biggest gambler in the Greater Dream SMP.

But you're committed, enough to stand where you are right now, in King Eret's bedroom waiting to ask for him to meet your brother.

Dean is the only remaining family you have and even though you've had an occasional romp in the woods, none have ever met him. You've had crushes and relationships but none of them has made you feel this helplessly smitten as Eret has.

You startle as the door opens and as you whirl around you're faced with a gently smiling Eret, a tad bit confused but just as sweet as always. "My king..."

"Y/N," He smiles, bemused, "Is there a reason for this visit or are you just here to see me?"

"Ah," You awkwardly look down at your hands. It's weird that you're standing in a room you're so familiar with without armour, just plain clothes, it makes you feel so embarrassingly naked. "I do have a reason but I love seeing you no matter what."

"Such a flatterer," Eret smiles fondly, walking over to press a small kiss to the corner of your mouth. He cradles your jaw in his hands, brushing calloused thumbs over faintly scarred skin. "You're so beautiful, my dear."

"So are you," You mumble as you pull him closer, pressing your foreheads together. You've certainly gotten bolder as the weeks pass. Something about Eret just makes you want to be near him and you're not one to ignore your desires.

He smiles, pressing another light kiss to your lips he leans forward to press his forehead to your shoulder. "What do you need, my love?"

You take a deep breath in, trying to ignore the subtle shaking in your hands. "I... I would like you to meet my brother."

Eret pulls back and he's still smiling, which is a good sign. "Of course, why would I say no."

You sigh, relaxing forward and slumping into Eret. "Yeah, I don't know why I was worried. I mean, I've met your brother."

The prince was a little firecracker who was usually seen fighting with Eret more often than not. Recently he had run away and you're still not sure of all the details but Eret had been trying extremely hard to get all of you to get along. The prince was certainly blunt but he had been nice too and had every bit the good heart that Eret did.

"Where would you like to go, darling," Eret brushes his hands over your shoulder, tracing invisible lines on your clothes. "I'll take you anywhere, my love, even the moon."

You can't stop yourself from giggling, "You're too sweet, my Eret. No, I think we should aim somewhere closer to home. Dean can't go too far. Maybe we can take him to the festival happening soon."

"Ah, the Aether festival," Eret sighs dreamily. "I haven't been able to go in ages. There's a legend for this wonderful festival. Supposedly, at the final dance of the night, there will be a pair of fated lovers dancing who will have the light of the Aether shined upon them, deeming them soulmates to match the other perfectly."

"Supposedly?" You murmur softly. "Is it true?"

"It might be, maybe not. Unfortunately, there's no good fortune with the Aether Gods, we've not had their blessings in ages. A good chunk of funds has been allocated to this festival to try and be in their good graces." Eret shakes his head. "I'd rather ignore that religious mess. I've got a decent connection to Prime, Aether Gods are not my business to mess with."

You hum, twisting Eret's hair between your fingers gently. "Well, I think Dean would love to meet you anywhere. So," you pull him in by the waist, "If my Eret isn't too busy, we could cuddle."

Eret smiles, leaning forward to press a gentle kiss to your forehead. "I would love to, my darling."

{《☆》}

Dean is more than nervous to see Eret, dragging his knuckles across his thigh and back up in a self-soothing motion. You've walked him through the rules more than three times but the nerves are still biting at your heels too.

"How long until we get there," Dean mutters softly, glancing out at the town wistfully. The carriage you're taking, courtesy of Eret, is beautiful and absolutely heavenly to sit in but Dean looks so sad at not being able to walk after being stuck in the hospital for so long.

"We're almost there, buddy, don't worry," You reach over and brush his hair back, lips quirking into a grin as his baby hair poof back up. "Are you nervous?"

"Are you kidding me? It's the King Eret, of course I'm nervous!" Dean smacks his lips together, looking out the window again. He takes a deep breath in, rehearsed. "Everything looks so pretty now..."

You pull yourself together, glancing out the window and feeling startled at how close you are to the town's centre. Eret should be waiting there for you, hidden in one way or another so that he could enjoy the night out without any guards. Well, any guards other than you, that is.

You fiddle with the bracelet Dean had made for you ages ago and you see him glance over. His face softens from the tense lines it had drawn itself into, a small dopey smile on his lips. "That's my bracelet."

"What, thought I wouldn't wear this amazingly fashionable piece of jewelry?" You laughed slightly, gently poking Dean's shoulder.

He grinned back at you. "You're such a loser."

"Pfft, this loser bagged the king," You jut your chin up, haughtiness pouring off you. "I don't see you dating a king."

"I could if I wanted to," Dean protests. He flaps his hands willy-nilly. "But I think girls are cooler."

"Fair is fair," You shrug with a smile. You lean back against the seat, head tilted to lean against Dean. "You're a great kid, Dean."

"I guess you're a decent brother," He mumbles back, leaning into you too. It's a considerably smoother ride along the carriage as you get closer to town square. Maybe you should remind Eret to work on the kingdom's pothole problem. "I love you."

"I love you too," You squeeze his hand gently before slowly standing. The carriage has already slowed enough that you're perfectly fine standing, coming to a stop right by Ms Nihachu's cafe. "Eret's supposed to meet up inside so I can get you a hot cocoa or something."

Dean gasps, rushing to stand. "Really? Did the doctor and dietician clear that?"

"Of course, I'm not dumb," You ruffle Dean's hair, feeling just as excited as he does.

"I haven't had cocoa in ages," He nearly squeals, practically pushing you out of the carriage. You help him down much nicer (bratty brothers are a pain) and he's just as quick to drag you to the cafe's door.

You don't have time to greet Ms Nihachu, who looks surprised to see you being dragged by a small and weak child, instead instantly being dragged to the open windows of deserts for Dean to browse. His face is practically pressed into the glass, eyes wide.

"How many can I have?" He askes, awed.

"For now, a hot cocoa and a light snack." You press him back to your side, smiling at his bright eyed stare. "Maybe later tonight you can try donuts. They're new from L'Manburg."

"Oh," Dean frowns for a second before shaking his head. He looks up at you, impressionable eyes that remind you exactly of your mother's. "Are they any good?"

"Yeah, L'Manburg's practically sweets central," You say, squeezing his shoulder softly. Dean nods, not hesitating to bounce on over to the counter where Ms Nihachu is watching you both.

"Hello dear, what would you like today," Ms Nihachu asks Dean, a bright smile on her face.

He looks back at you and you nod. "Can I please have a hot cocoa and uhm, those sweet looking bread. Right there."

"Of course. Anything else?" Niki turns to grab a tray before carefully picking up a white concha.

"Y/N, what'd you want?" Dean turns to you, eyes wide in a way you know means he won't let you go empty handed.

"Anything fine, Dede," You ruffle his hair fondly.

He scowls at you, still leaning into your palm. "Stop calling me that. He'll have the same."

"Hi Sir Y/N," Ms Nihachu smiles at the two of you, certainly amused at the one-sided argument. "Is this a new squire of yours? I can't remember you ever taking one before."

"Oh no, Dean here's my baby brother," You beam, excited to ramble about your brother to another person. Eret would never admit it but you definitely ramble about him far too often. "This is going to be his first Aether fesitval!"

Niki gasps for your implorement. "Really?"

You nod rapidly. "Yeah, I know! We've talked all about what this festival's gonna look like and I even asked permission to show off the drafts for the town square! It was all so exciting and I can't wait for him to see directly!"

"That sounds wonderful," Niki laughs. She hands you the bags, tutting carefully as Dean's hand grabs the hot cocoa. "Alright well have a good visit."

"Thank you, Ms Nihachu."

You settle down in a welcoming and comfy corner booth. Dean insists on sitting on the side with view of the door so that he can spot Eret first.

But you fail to realize it's horribly easy for both of you to get distracted and when someone's tapping on your shoulder, both members of the L/N family flounder over themselves.

"Eret!" You gasp, delighted and slightly embarrassed. You quickly swipe the drink from the top of your lip, hoping he didn't see it. "You're here!"

"Of course I am," He chuckles, sitting next to you. He gives Dean his best smile. "It's nice to finally meet you."

Dean nods rapidly, eyes flittering over Eret's looming stature. He looked back at you, wide-eyed and pleading. You try not to laugh too loud. "He's happy to meet you too, Eret."

And it's nothing if not the truth. Dean's practically saddled at Eret's side the entire time, and once he gets over his shyness, it's all question about Eret's time in the war and how many animals he must own. Hilariously enough, Eret manages to cajole Dean into his favourite talk about the best anima and gets throughly decimated by Dean's answer of Polar bear.

As Dean settles quietly next to you, tuckered out and nibbling on a glazed donut, you glance over at the center of the festival. The area is cleared off of tables and flattened with stone slabs to become a makeshift dance floor with no dips or grooves. Couples swing around to the bards melodic voices, onlookers stomping to the beat of the songs.

But the night was dark and maybe it was just you but being surrounded by strangers on every side only heightened your paranoia. Eret looks over, love playing on his lips as he looks at you in that special way. "Would it kill you to relax?"

"Probably," You reply on impulse. "Likely it would kill you too. That's rather the point."

Eret huffs like you told a funny joke, eyes scrunching up at the edges. "I'll risk it," he stood and in one fluid motion, held a hand out to you, curved in the perfect position for you to hold. "Dance with me."

You put your hand in his and it's like they meld together, fitting in that ever-perfect way that follows everything Eret seems to do or love. His fingers squeeze your hand once-twice-pause-once and you can't help yourself. You tip yourself forward and press a gentle kiss to pale pink lips. Eret smiles into it, a hand coming to hold your waist, gently holding you like you are everything precious in the world melded into one. You pull away, murmuring your words against his lips. "Alright,"

Eret leads you to the dance floor and holds you close even when the music demands a spin or a step back, his arms always wrap around you. It's not until a partner swap that he reluctantly let's you go, twirling you off to a bright young lady who steps on your toes once or twice. As you dance to your next partner, an grayed old man who chuckles as you spin him slowly, beams of moonlight, pure and silver, weave between pairs of dancers, brushing feet and tracing invisible lines in sand.

You turn to your next partner, a young woman who dances around you without touching, still smiling as she softly hip bumps you before you leave. The dazzling moonlight catches on your bracelet for a second, showing off the colours that Dean had woven into it for you. It dances up your arm as you are held in Eret's arms once again. He is cradled by the moonlight just as you are, cheeks glowing in silver and pink pureness. You can't help yourself from pulling him towards you and pressing your foreheads together. He is the most beautiful person you've ever seen and you take in the delicate features that build the man you love. Eret lips are curved in that ever perfect way and you catch them in a moment of blissful passion.

When you pull apart, it is only you and Eret held in the arms of the moon. The rest of the world is quiet, as if to let you simply breathe in each other. Eret looks up, face alight in wonder and adoration as well as realization. "The Aether's light..." he looks down at you and tears spring to his eyes. "My moonlight."

Your mouth widens into a wobbily "Oh". You look around at the star-struck citizens (part of you distantly realizes that Eret's hardly concealed cover was definitely blown) and then back at Eret. This time all the air gets knocked out of your lungs at the pure love that spreads from his curve of his eyes to the smile on his mouth, like it's feeding into you from where his fingertips press into your waist, like it's imprinted on you lips, painted a million shades of Eret.

You reach to hold his cheek, trying to imprint the same love into your loose wrist and love-love-loving cradle. His eyes flutter shut at the contact, pressed into your palm like it's his own personal Eden. You curl him towards you, lips next to his ear and whispher. "I think your cover is blown."

Eret's head tips back, eyes squeezed shut as he laughs.

[Hey hey hey! So it's been ages, truly far too long. Like two months or something. Anyways I am low-key on a roll rn, finishing a chp for distance yesterday and now this.]

[Honestly this has been in the workshop for months. I've just been struggling to write it. I had rewritten the start about 5 or 6 different times before I ended on the festival idea. I'm unsure if I'll continue this Eret series but it's truly been a delight writing it and I've fallen in love with all the characters, with a soft spot for Dean and Spencer. If I ever write about this again, they'll definitely have more screen time.]

[Anyways, I'm rambling. Personal update, about to do major tests soon, today was my sister's birthday and mine's in like 2 weeks, and honestly allergies are hitting me like a hard sack of shit. "Profesional" update/schedule is Requests: pt2 sss!eret, George x mreader, pt2 prince reader, and platonic philza x reader! It's also very likely that I'll be working on non-requests (expect the unexpected is all im saying) in between because I'm finding it easier to not be conformed to one-writing project right now so yeah, that's happening! Anyways, take care of yourself, hydrate and eat, sleep and make sure to talk to those you love. Even one good morning can be a small step!]

Description: Knowing the king can come with a few benefits, and also a few stresses. (Eret x m!Reader)

[Read the rest under the cut]

{《☆》}

Dean knits the yarn between his fingers as you talk, more than happy to rest his legs over your chest. You hang off of his hospital bed, "So Spencer decided to actually talk to Derek, right? But apparently, Derek had gotten with Savannah, the medic lady."

"Derek is stupid, Spencer is amazing," Dean frowns, still the same kid who'd follow Spencer around like a duckling when he was younger. "Isn't Savannah the one who makes the bad eggnog?"

Right, that incident left a permanent mark on your brother. Dean loves eggnog and for Savannah to make it so horribly permanently tarnished her name in his eyes.

"How have the doctors been recently," You fiddled with the end of the scarf Dean had been knitting. "I heard they're close to a cure."

Dean shrug, awkwardly ducking his head. "They haven't told me much, just that they're starting testing and it's going well."

"That's good," You reach up to brush a finger against his cheek. "You know Mom would be so proud of you. I'm so proud of you."

"I know," Dean says, leaning into your palm. He didn't remember your parents but his eyes got all shiny whenever you brought them up. "Can you call off today?"

"I wish I could," You sigh, slumping back against the bed. "But just because I got the promotion doesn't mean they can't take it away. Calling off during the first week wouldn't help."

Dean frowns, pouting as he continues his scarf. "Will you visit tomorrow?"

"Of course, bud," Standing tall, you leaned over to press a kiss to your brother's forehead.

{《☆》}

You fix the straps on your arms, pulling the iron armour tighter around you. Something about being a permanent guard for the king- for Eret- was nerve-wracking. Kori and Raven were fixing their own armour behind you, joining you on your shift. It was nice to hang out with them, as teasing as they were.

Oh, the teasing. Even since your little breakfast date with Eret, none of Eret's Eight have stopped poking fun at it. Light-hearted, of course, but still embarrassing.

You press your lips together, trying not to let the thought of Eret break your carefully crafted aloofness. You pull a strap too tight, the metal digs into your arms but it's bound to loosen more so you don't bother fixing it.

Kori and Raven are already out the door, with months of practice in the complex straps and with the efficiency to prove it. They wait for you at the door, Kori blowing their bubblegum up loudly.

"Is Sara still waiting for us?" You walk over quickly, careful not to trip over yourself. You've done it before and let me tell you, standing in full iron armour is hard. Your sword is sheathed at your side for quick access but Kori and Raven don't seem bothered to do the same.

"Nah, she always heads out a bit early on Saturdays," Raven nudges Kori with a matching grin. "She has to meet with her secret loverboy."

"Or lover girl," Raven laughs, running a hand through their spiked up black hair. "I know Sara isn't one to discriminate."

"Oh don't try teasing when she isn't here," Kori shakes their head with a grin. "Not when (Y/N) right here is free ammo."

"I hate both of you." You hide your smile by walking away, still a bit put off by the idea of Eret being unprotected.

The pretty walls of the castle greet you pleasantly, warm and just as cosy as before. You love the feeling of being in these walls, it reminds you of the childhood home you and Dean used to live in before you sold it.

Quickly, Kori and Raven catch up with you. Together you speed up and are standing at the door to Eret's council room. Last you had been told, he had been in a meeting with a few of the other kingdoms. It sounded far more important than you felt comfortable protecting, but it's not like you had a choice.

Fixing your armour, the metal still digs into your arm. it's slightly more grounding than it is painful. You're glad something can keep your heart from racing as fast as it could. You already feel it almost ripping out of your chest with anxiety. It's only been a few days since you last saw Eret and still, you're smitten lovesick.

Kori walks into the room without any precaution. He is confident and you anxiously follow after him. Raven closes the door behind you all.

"Goodmorning, your majesty," Kori says with an actually acceptable amount of respect. You've never heard him call Eret his real title. It's an odd thing to actually consider after so long. You follow in his footsteps though, not sure if there are actual rules. "My King,"

Eret looks absolutely heavenly. His hair is curled around his face, a golden circlet in place of his crown today. The cape he is warning fluffs up around his neck, dragging your eyes across his jawline.  He smiles, just as sweet and lovely as you've grown accustomed to. "Goodmorning, Kori, Raven, (Y/N)."

Quickly, you step into place at his side. Kori standing at his back while Raven takes his left side. There are royalty and emissaries scattered around the room. They give you an odd glance before they seem to suddenly forget you're even there. Honestly, it's a relief to not have to hold yourself up straight in their eyes.

"I'm glad we could agree on this," Eret says, continuing from when he paused. "I don't think it'd be in our best interest to attack L'Manburg while it's still so young and flighty."

"Then that's where we disagree," A noble lady, the one who runs the capital of Aeothet, says. "The only reason we have suggested a temporary peace is only that our kingdom has been struggling with the loss during the war, we care not for that false nation."

Eret's eyes flash with something dangerous, something that has you readying your sword in case he needs your help. "If I remember correctly, Lady Anastasia, your city started very much the same as President Soot's, did it not?"

Her face flashes with something mildly bitter, "We did not dishonour ourselves enough to break away like that foolish president did. This land is blessed good fortune by Prime."

"And theirs by Lady Death," Eret leans forward with a cold smile. "Or were you not aware the lineage of President Soot, son of Lady Death and her Angel. So long as she breathes life into her son, she breathes luck into their lands."

"Very well," Lady Anastasia exhales heavily, sepia hand pressed to her cheek and covering her mouth. "We leave their land alone, they shall rot from the inside either way."

Eret doesn't even bother smiling now, looking right into her eyes as the silence lingers. You tuck your sword back in your sheath, looking at his thin-pressed lips and glancing back up. Your king turns his head to look at you and the tension drains from their shoulders, his lips perked into a small smile. "Continue with your border update."

"Of course, your majesty," Lady Anastasia said slowly. "The Badlands have been building closer to the East border than comfortable and with L'Manburg's recent independence they're closer than ever."

"Badboyhalo knows an attempt on our land, especially so close to the end of the war is risky," Eret hums, surprisingly lax with the thought. "We don't have to worry. He's smarter than that."

"Of course," Lady Anastasia bows before taking her seat. You glance over at Eret and find him deep in thought, frowning down at his clasped hands.

{《☆》}

"That was so stressful," You complained to Raven after the meeting ended. Eret stood in front of you but you could see the smile at your misery. he tried hiding it but at this point the betrayal was public. "I can't believe you're all making fun of me. Those people are scary."

"They couldn't hurt a fly here," Kori waved his hand around, coming to a stop in front of Eret. "We've got this place protected better than Lord Dream protects George."

You shake your head, trying not to smile. "I suppose that's true, but it's still nerve-wracking when they look at you."

"Just don't look back, pretend that you're a statue with sentience trying to not let anyone know you can move," Raven wiggles their fingers at you, undeterred by the lack of reaction you give. "Or you can just ignore them regularly but that's boring."

"Or," Eret starts, blinking rapidly at Raven, "You can find something else to look at. You can stare at some of the paintings in the rooms or look out a window, when I was a kid I used to stare at the garden for so long I memorized where the leaves fell during the fall and how long it took for the water to freeze over."

"Oh don't worry, Eret," Kori throws their arm over your shoulder. "He's already got someone to stare at."

You roll your eyes. "C'mon, Eret, you should eat dinner before your next meeting."

Eret steps over to you, taking your hand in theirs easily. "Alright." His hand is cold but you've never felt more comfortable.

Kori and Raven follow behind you guys with matching grins.

Food is made quicker than you could recite the entirety of the bee movie, Eret already pouring a second drink for you. It's become a bit of a dance between the two of you to see how much he can get you to eat before you stop him.

So far, the highest record is still the first breakfast you two ate together.

Kori and Raven pour themselves their own glasses of lemonade, standing closer to the table than the doors. You can't hear them well but you're sure Kori's saying something stupid.

"I was wondering what you do in your free time," Eret asks to break up an idle moment. They place their glass down so gently it doesn't clink. "I know that Sara likes to go to those monster-fighting cages and Stephen enjoys the parkour parks but I've never asked you."

"I hang out with my little brother," You babble fondly about Dean. He's the only family you have left and you'd do anything for him, though not without making sure he experiences classic sibling embarrassment. "He's incredible. Dean reads a lot and he makes these adorable scarves and he's so incredibly smart."

"I didn't know you had a little brother," Eret smiles, eyes all crinkly at the edges. He tilts his head, leaning forward. "What's his favourite animal?"

"Polar bears, he says they're the strongest type of bear and that no other animal could defeat them." You laugh, remembering the debate he held against the nurses about the best type of animal. You personally went with Emus, an endangered animal in the Savannah biomes near desserts. "He once told me my opinion on animals was valid but wrong."

Eret chuckles with you, leaning ever so close with his chin resting on his hand. "I'm curious what he'd think about Flamingo's."

You shrug, not remembering the topic ever coming up. "I'm sure he'd find something wrong with them that Polar Bears are better at."

Eret offers a cut piece of steak to you, which you accept easily. Being so close still makes your heart stutter but he looks so good up close that you can't help yourself lingering a second.

"I can't see him tomorrow since my shift runs so long so I'm hoping that when I see him on Saturday it's before he needs his vest, he always naps after," You fuss with the fork, remembering the days before the hospital, he had once slept so long he missed dinner. You had made an extra big breakfast to make up for it but he still complained about it so much.

"Vest?"

"It's for his illness, the doctors haven't named it but he's had it since he was a baby." You poke at a piece of steak before you pick it up. "It causes all kinds of trouble with his body. Lung issues, memory issues, hearing impairment. The doctors think they're close to a cure but it's still a rather small problem for most people, funding is hard."

Eret frowns, laying his fork down on the plate. He fiddled with his fingers, thinking deeply about something. "I'm sorry to hear about that."

"It's okay, it's better than nothing," You shrug. When your parents died, you would have been weeping for a chance to "fix" your brother. Older, not as stupid in grief, you realize there was never anything broken. Your brother's life is hard and he deserves the best in life, that is why it's important. If you had to pay for his treatment forever, you still would. And if they're close, you can still wait a few more years. "Dean is strong. No matter what happens, he'll make it."

"If there's anything I can do to help," Eret starts, fiddling with his fingers. It's odd to see him so anxious and embarrassed. "I want to help you and your brother, (Y/N)."

You smile, brushing your hand over his. "That's kind but we're not the only ones going through this. I'd rather help the funding for everyone than just my family."

"Okay," Eret says like it's just that easy. And for him it is. His kingdom is overflowing with riches, a treasury full of diamonds and emeralds and gold. As king, he can do what he wants. Good for you, romancing (marrying 😳?) rich. "I can donate as much as needed for the cure."

His eyes look into yours, staring for something validating and sweet. As if you'd be anything less than in love with those beautiful blue eyes. "Thank you, my Eret,"

"Your Eret," he mutters back, leaning so close that your noses brush.

❤ Sweet Summer Sun

(He/him pronouns)

(1000+ words)

Description: On a hot summer day, you and Eret are enough. (Eret x M!Reader)

[Read the rest under the cut]

{《☆》}

You meet his eyes across the room. The dim lighting makes them glow, gentle off-white that bounces off his dark curls. Eret leans back against the wall, smooth lips curled and you’re suddenly thrown back to just a few weeks ago.

The horrid summer heat beats down against your skin, long blades of grass scratching at your cheeks as you lie in the field across the caramavan. His hands press to your forehead, pulling hair from your face painlessly, his beautiful smile tugging at his lips despite his attempts at serious soldier man. You press your face closer to his hands despite the heat, his cool hands are a nice reprieve from the heat actually.

“Hello, darling” His smooth voice, deep and gentle and oh so loving, is laced with that thin line of annoyance and amusement. “Aren’t you supposed to be making potions with Fundy?”

“Got bored, Fundy said we should ditch so we did,” You yawn, stretching your neck a bit and fixing yourself until you leaned nicely on Eret’s hand. “‘M not sorry, got to see you.”

Eret laughs, a loud, shoulder’s shaking laugh. It’s so endearing every time, the way his eyes crinkle every time he smiles and the gentle rumble in his chest with every giggle. He’s like quick sand to you, everything about him has you falling deeper and deeper, willingly letting yourself fall into everything that makes Eret himself. Letting yourself drown in everything that makes him perfect to you.

He strokes your cheek, brushing wet grass that still tries to cling to your skin off easily. “You’re such a flatterer, my darling.”

“Just for you,” You pressed a kiss to his palm. Looking back up, his eyes have gone soft and the beautifully strong white glow that you’ve come to love is shining a dull pink. You laugh, completely smitten with how openly his emotions are written to you. On a silver platter, Eret leaves his whole world out for you to judge.

“Such a flirt,” he mutters softly, leaning down to kiss you.

“Ew! Tubso, you see that! It's disgusting.” Tommy’s annoyingly familiar voice interrupts you two. “Imagine being in love. Oh mew mew mew mew mew I’m Y/N and I’m a simp for Eret.”

“Love is disgusting,” Tubbo nods along, both of them still dressed in their uniforms. Their thick clothing, by their own design, is made to hide the fact that they are men at all. Their own decision because, apparently, all men should die. They thought is so strongly they made it a "TommyInnit Rule". It was rather funny when Tubbo ended up screaming ‘don’t do men’ at Fundy saying ‘Rules should be like, don’t do x.’. And despite their love of women, romance was disgusting and Tubbo had sworn off ever getting married.

Eret chuckled at their antics as they got closer, his sunglasses back on his face. They brushed a hand through your hair one last time before standing at full height. Great, now you were the only one on the ground. “Tommy, Tubbo, what brings you boys here?”

Tommy groaned. “Wil sent us here. ‘Parently he caught Fundy and wants Y/N to go back.”

“Nooooooo!” You whined, staring up dreadfully at the sky. Tubbo peeked over your head, blocking out the sun thankfully enough. “Tubbo, my friend, join the dark side. We have nap time.”

Tubbo nodded seriously. “No one can say no to nap time.” Plopping down next to you, he shuffled to rest his head on your stomach.

“But Tuubooooo! Wilbur will kill me if I join the dark side.” Tommy whined, his braces catching the light of the sun. He pouted, looking every bit the child he declined being daily.

“No one said you had to join,” Tubbo propped one eye open, a shit eating grin on his face. “In fact, I don’t even want you here. Leave.”

“Wha-” Tommy spluttered indiginetly. “No! Actually I’ll stay here all day now!” He said it so proudly, like he was outsmarting Tubbo and not the other way around.

Tubbo playfully cried, “I’ve been fooled!”

Tommy threw himself over you, his chest thrown over your legs as he rested his head on his arms. Once situated comfortably, he purred contently, his ears fluffing up in that adorable way you’ve gotten used to.

Eret watches you three softly, something more than love in his eyes. You aren’t sure how you can tell at this point, but you can. They sit on the ground by your head, fixing their coattail so that it doesn’t get dirty. Well, dirtier.  “Darling, I’m half convinced you’ve sold your soul to Prime for the ability to control Tommy.”

“I wish I had that ability,”You laugh, rubbing Tommy’s ears between your fingers. The boy grunts at you, a low growl in his throat that’s squeaked out with another purr. They had tried faking that bluff one too many times. “Sadly all I can do is get him to take a nap.”

“That’s more than anyone else can do. Imagine me telling him to nap, he’d curse me out and then laugh.” Eret paused, a considering frown on his lips. “Anyone besides Wilbur.”

“Wilbur is a magical man,” You agreed. Truly, you didn’t know how he did it. Managing to get Tommy of all kids to listen to him, to follow him. An unmatched experience.”Now stop talking words and lay down with me.” Making grabby hands at him, your words were a threat.

Eret chuckled. They interlaced your hands and pressed kisses to the back of your hands. Finally they sat down, lifting your head onto their thigh. “Get some rest, darling.”

“M’kay my sweet prince,” You yawned, patting his cheek softly. Eret leaned down and kissed you softly before pulling away. With his hands brushing through your hair you closed your eyes.

When you opened your eyes it’s not to the hilarious sight of Wilbur chewing out your boyfriend, it’s to the Dream Team standing in front of you. They don’t hesitate to attack and in seconds Wilbur dies in front of you.

Eret stands behind them all, glasses raised high on his face. “Down with the revolution boys. It was never meant to be.”

He looks away and Sapnap stabs you through the stomach in your pause. The sword is cold, everything is cold actually, but you think that maybe the betrayal of Eret’s betrayal hurts more than anything.

{《☆》}

[I hope I hurt you.]

[Wilbur is streaming rn and ahkfhajs my dog hates him she gave me the stink eye for stopping her pets to open his stream]

[Anyways! Next post should be a Squid Game AU DT x Reader! Now bye bye my beloveds! Take care of yourselves!!!

Serial Lover ❤

(Any really, gender isn't specified)

(800+ words)

{《☆》}

You have enough work to deal with. Every day, every hour, every minute, every second someone dies. It's a tiring job having to deal with the amount of death in the world.

And of course, having someone fall in love with you makes it even worse after they get it in their head that the only way to see you is murder.

"What do you want this time?" It's so irritating, every drop of blood they shed was just more work for you. The bloody figure leapt up instantly, their masked face splitting into a wide grin.

"I've missed you," He softly chuckles, ignoring the tone. The almost dead body at their feet trembles, hazy eyes begging you for help.

You take their soul with a flick of your hand. It's the only mercy you can provide. "You're so irritating, Dream."

He pulls off his mask, setting it to the side and stepping over the dead body. "You love me though." Dream giggles when you sigh.

"I'd love you if you stopped giving me work," You grumbled, trying to mentally account for how many more people you'd have to visit in the next minute. America wasn't your jurisdiction alone, but you did a majority of the work since the rest of the reapers still had family alive. "Now can we get this over with?"

Dream pouts, looking in your eyes with a pitifully sad frown. "But you just got here." They kick their feet like a child, stubbornly getting closer to you.

Sighing, you already know he won't let you go without a fight. It's happened before and you'd rather not go through it again.

"You can come with as long as you don't ruin anything."

Dream nods enthusiastically. He latches onto your arm and you roll your eyes. With a quick flick of your hand, you both are gone.

{《☆》}

"Oh wow," Dream stares at everything with a thinly veiled excitement. Your office is nothing special, but he seems fascinated by it all. "It looks so homey."

You shrug. You did stay there most days, so it made sense to keep most of your personal belongings there as well. It seems your mortal companion was awestruck by it.

Dream turns to you again, a cheeky grin on his lips. "You should bring me here more often."

Rolling your eyes, you gesture to a seat beside your desk. He sat swiftly, giving you a sickly sweet smile. Sighing, you sat down at your desk. Instantly he shuffled his seat closer until he was practically leaning all his weight onto you.

As you started writing, Dream deeply inhaled. He pressed even closer, nuzzling his nose in the crook of your neck. Very quickly, he was sat in your lap.

It wasn't even five minutes until he started peppering tiny kisses to your neck. It was mildly irritating, as it did distract you from your paperwork. "Can you stop?"

"No," He chuckled and continued with his gentle kisses. Honestly, you were just going to ignore it until you got your paperwork done. Then, you'd bring him back to the mortal realm and everything would go back to normal.

Until he started killing again.

Sighing, you toyed with the idea of keeping him. A few other personifications of Death had ended up taking up mortals. Whether as children or friends and even occasionally lovers. It wouldn't be impossible to keep him with you to lower your workload.

Dream pressed another kiss, to your jaw this time. "Stop thinking so hard," he soothed. "You'll get frown lines with how much you're thinking."

You straightened your posture, fixing your face back to a neutral impasse look. Dream giggled, tilting his head back to get a better look at you. Yes. You suppose it would probably be easier to just keep him.

Looking down at him, you lifted a hand and cradled his face. Dream eagerly leaned into it, a soft smile lifting his features. The relatively smooth, slightly tan skin and pretty blue-green eyes. He was unfairly attractive by mortal standards.

"Hmm..." You traced a finger along his cheekbone, watching as the mortal shivered delightfully. The blood that speckled his face was an inconvenience, you had always been finicky about that stuff, but you could make him a mortal fit for a god. "Yes, you will do..."

They peeked through an eye at you, hopeful and slightly crazed. It almost made you laugh, mortals were so strange. Taking pity, you give him what he desires. A simple kiss. Truly, mortals are such simple creatures.

His lips are chapped, but they taste faintly like cherries. You find that you quite like cherries. You don't want to pull away for a second, but you do anyway.

The mortal sighed dreamily, staring up at you with a lovestruck expression. You smile down at him. He was such a pretty problem.

Wildest Wills 💜

[He/him pronouns]

[3600+ words]

Description: You and your sister Cairo are on your way to the Antartic Empire to stay with family. There is some trouble along the way. (Muffinteers x M!Reader)

[Read the rest under the cut]

{《☆》}

"Cairo," you call, throwing a stick into the slowly growing fire. "It's getting late, kid."

Your sister's tent remains closed though, quiet even when she'd usually be complaining loudly about spending another night in the woods. You stretched quietly, almost letting it go if not for something in your head nagging at you.

"Hey, kid? You asleep already?" You glanced back at the fire, where you should be keeping watch as she slept. Stepping over a log you pushed aside a flap of the tent. Xyr bedroll was empty, xry covers still neatly set up and practically untouched.

"Well, shit..."

{《☆》}

Wiggling xyr fingers awkwardly, she tried to pull xry hand out of the tight knots. Xry socks scrapped against the floor as she hung, they were undoubtedly ripped which she was slightly upset about, they were xyr favourite pair. Cairo knew with hindsight that leaving xyr brother behind was the worst decision she could've made.

Huffing, she stopped for a moment to breathe. It was so stupid. All she wanted was to have a little fun and maybe steal a few gold coins off of them and they kidnap xem. Xyr pouch was tucked into one of the backpacks in front of xyr, so they were the real thieves. There were at least 4 copper coins that they were taking and not to mention the ugly one pocketing xyr dagger!

She was so going to tell her brother one of them hit on xyr. They are so going to regret kidnapping xyr.

When she finally managed to pull xyr thumb out, one of xem kidnappers came out of the tent they had been talking in. She puffed xyrs chest out and glared, xyr heart beating as they walked over anyway.

"So, we've decided to kill you!" They clap their hands together enthusiastically, a wide grin on their face before they burst out laughing. "No, we're not. But you should've seen the look on your face! Hilarious. Anyway, we're going to keep you! Or Stevie'll keep you, she was adamant on not letting you die or selling you so this is the next best thing! You should thank her!"

"What?" She said, head spinning. They laughed again, less insane this time, and turned to leave. "Wait! What-? You can't-"

"We can, we are." They shrugged and ducked to get back in the tent.  She glared at the offending green, gritting xyr teeth as it stayed upright.

Looking up, she stood as tall as she could and started yanking xyr hand out. Dirt got in xyr socks as she managed to get a free hand. Pulling at the rope with xyr hand was so much easier than xyrs earlier nonsensical wiggling and she pulled it out quickly. Glancing back at the tent, she riffled through the bags and pulled out both xyr pouch and a pretty pink pouch and started running.

She started off north, both pouches wound tightly closed and packed into xyr waistband. Cairo didn't even know if xyr brother was in that direction and ran with blind hope.

{《☆》}

You pressed your sword into the healer's neck, casting a critical eye around the campsite. The group of freelance mercenaries was beaten and forced on their knees. "Where is my sister?"

The tallest one laughed nervously, their eyes, violet eyes, darting around the camp and settling on a set of ropes before darting back to you quickly. They didn't have xyr then, but they had. The healer, who was crying pitifully, blurted out an answer. "We sold her."

"You're lying to me," you growled. "Now tell the actual truth or I'll chop your head off."

"I'm sorry." They gasped, breathless as they trembled. "She ran off. I don't know what way. Please don't kill me."

You dropped her to the ground and kicked her as a warning. They were useless to you now if she had already gotten out. If you were a stronger man, maybe you'd have killed them for it, but you weren't a killer yet and you didn't want them to be the first blood on your hands.

Wrapping your own rope around their wrists, you pulled them just a bit too tight. You may not kill them but they still took your sister.

Hands wound tightly around your necklace, you followed your sister's trail with swift feet. Xyr movements were jerky and panicked, wrapping around a tree twice before they ducked into a low hanging canopy and started straight forward for what seemed like miles.

Cairo was a fast little gremlin when she wanted to be and it showed by how far you had to walk. But slowly it seemed your compass was honing in xyr position as it swivelled a bit to the left.

Rushing forward, you walked into another campsite with your sword drawn. You could see your sister's back to you, arguing with a masked fellow. "My brother is going to come for me, I don't need your help."

"It could take hours for him to navigate these woods." They stressed, their hand nowhere near their sword at their hip which meant you could knock him out and take Cairo without a struggle. "How would he even know where..."

A sword was pointed at your back, making you straighten up and pivot forward as the unknown swordsman swung too slowly. Keeping the momentum you dashed towards your sister and came sword to sword with the masked man in a hideous lime green cloak. Their mask was more menacing face to face, porcelain that shone like glass with the tiniest cracks and you could see the briefest glance of his tan skin.

Cairo ducked out of the way, tucked close to you like a little baby bear to their mama. You dodged the dark-haired swordsman with a twirl, making sure to keep xem near you at all times. The masked man managed to get a lucky blow, cutting through your shirt right below where your compass hung around your neck.

Gritting your teeth, you managed to knock the dark-haired swordsman to their knees and before the masked one could stab you through your kidney you wrapped your arm around the weakened man's neck and pulled them between you two.

"Try anything and I kill him." You threatened. Cairo hesitantly stepped behind you, glancing between all of you. The other's face was impossible to read with a mask on, but their knuckles went white before they dropped their sword.

"Don't you dare." They hissed.

Narrowing your eyes at him, you took a quick glance back at Cairo. Unluckily for you, your captive grew a pair and elbowed you. Gasping, you kicked out wildly as you started falling backwards. Someone cursed and you took vindictive pleasure in causing them pain before Mask pointed their sword at your neck.

"Stop! Y/N-" Cairo stepped forward but you glared at xem. You glanced between xem and the forest and she obviously caught on. She didn't move though, still in the same place with the one you had previously held captive moving behind her.

Mask put their foot on your stomach and pressed a little too hard, making you gasp for breath. Glaring up at them, you let your grip on your sword go lax and waited.

"Don't ever threaten Sapnap again." His voice was venomous, still laboured with his effort to keep you down. They pressed down harder. "Or it'll be the last thing you do."

Baring your teeth, you heard something snap in the distance. Mask looked over quickly and you forced yourself to roll away. Mask stumbled heavily as 'Sapnap' stepped in front of your sister and towards you.

"Stop fighting them!" Cairo shrieked desperately, panicked as Dream picked himself up faster than you expected.

"I promised..." You gasped for breath. "That I would protect you. And I intend to keep the damn promise."

"They aren't hurting me! They helped me!" She yells. When you pause, Mask manages to knock you down again and this time he doesn't go lax. Sapnap looks back at xem and his brows furrow.

"Wait... is this the brother you were talking about?"

"Yes!"

Mask doesn't look away so you don't either. It's a particularly aggressive staring contest, but the fighting is more comfortable than the other stares people give you. Xyr huffs, moving past Sapnap and standing right by your side. "Dream, if you kick my brother again I will curse you."

'Dream' stared you down as he got off you, sword tightly held in his hands. You took a quick breath in and slowly got up, never taking your eyes off of him either. You weren't planning on losing this fight.

One of the voices in your head, the ones you usually try to suppress with varying success, pipes up with a teasing quip. "I really want those hands wrapped around my neck instead of his sword"

Grimacing, it still didn't break you.

"his hands but make it a necklace," another agreed.

"i want those thighs to... anyway"

"/rainbowchat"

"okay but that mask is kinda... ya knowww"

"bonk horny jail for all of you"

You couldn't help but look away. Your voices were making things take a very uncomfortable turn. Coming from the forest, two other men walked out and finally Dream looked away.

Cairo pressed close to you and instantly the voices went back to fussing over xem. You wrapped an arm around xem even though your arm was as sore as the rest of you. Goggles and Hoodie, as you dubbed them mentally, were glancing over at you a lot. Dream and Sapnap were probably telling them all about how you got your ass handed to you.

"Are you hurt?" You whisper asked. Cairo shook xyr head, wiggling xyr fingers in a so-so motion.

"Bad, the hoodie guy, gave me some balm for my feet and helped me wash off my rope burns." She whispered back and then gestured down to the new pair of sandals that were obviously too big for xyr feet. Then, in a meeker voice, she said, "I'm sorry for sneaking out."

You shake your head softly, adrenaline already draining. "Right now I'm just glad you're okay." Then, in the same voice your Dad used to speak with, you added. "We will be discussing your punishment later."

She pouted, already aware that she was losing xyr free-range privilege. Now you were going back to the days of kiddy leashes like when she was 8 and in an even worse rebellious phase. At least back than it was easier to pick xem up.

"Hello!" Hoodie, Bad technically but that was a weird name so you weren't calling him that, bounced over to you with a diplomatic smile. "So you're Cairo's brother?"

You nod slowly, you felt awkward standing there without your sword and virtually defenceless against four armed men. "I came here 'cause she was missing."

"Yeah, we found her looking for you after some people took her I suppose," Goggles added. You appreciated the fact that he didn't look you in the face, it was more than amusing especially since it happened so often.

With a mean grin, you said, "I already took care of them. They'll be hogtied in these woods until some bear comes and takes pity on them."

Cairo grins up at you, brushing xyr hair back and mimicking a crazy sign. "Those wackos were a special kind of crazy. Wouldn't be surprised if the bears ran from them."

Despite yourself, you chuckled at your sister's quips. Dream glanced over at you, like he was in disbelief you could perform the most menial task of laughing. The voices whispered in your head, their own, more flirty, or in some cases violent, quips.

You shrugged at him. Bad clapped his hands together, his face a bit off-put but understanding. "Well I know you two probably want to head back home and all but it is getting late. You two can stay here for the night if you want." Then he added on. "And since there are more of us it'd be safer too!"

You looked over at your sister. You didn't particularly like anyone there but Cairo was... well not in the best shape despite the act she put up. Xyr feet were still all bloody and probably a bit torn, xyr clothes in a mess of a state. She'd end up with hypothermia if she tried to go back at night, especially when it hits an all-time low.

"Yeah, I think we should." You finally say. Bad nods along with a pleasing smile, obviously already having your train of thought.

Goggles fixed his, well, goggles, pushing them up with a finger before taking them off altogether to put them back on. "Well, we should probably set up our extra tent then. If you can't tell, we weren't exactly planning to find a pair of homeless strangers in the wood."

"We aren't homeless," You instantly protest, despite the fact that it's technically true.

Goggles gives you an unimpressed look over and your voices instantly choose a new target to simp over until Dream grabs their attention again by scoffing. Although to be fair, in your slightly biased opinion, Goggles was better looking than Dream.

"Well, either way," They gesture to their camp. "We weren't prepared for visitors so we'll need a few minutes to find and set up your tent." He brushed some long pieces of hair behind his ear, giving a quick but pretty smile.

"That's fine. Thank you," You were mentally adding Goggles to the short list of people you'd let the voices simp over. After all, you did have a slight weakness for pretty boys and the voices would simp over just anyone if you didn't give them some fuel, case in point: Dream.

The masked individual was standing tense in front of you, his stare heavy. Dream's hands were tight on his sword, situating himself in front of Sapnap protectively. It was a silent threat to move away, daring you to fight him too,  but he cared more about keeping you away from Sapnap than fighting. How soft of him.

Cairo tugged on your sleeve, reminding you of your own protective streak. Glancing up, you gave a hardly noticeable dip of your head and turned away with your sister still tucked in your side. Who knows if Dream reacted to your silent truce or if he even realized you understood his anger. It didn't matter to you though, you were already helping Goggles (who introduced himself as George) finish the tent.

{《☆》}

Cairo knocked out on xyrs rolled out sleeping bag, tucked in snugly because the voices were extra over-protective of xyr injured state. She was thoroughly exhausted, dozing off seconds after she laid down.

You brushed some of xyrs hair back, gently tracing xyr hairline and cheek bone. You remembered when your Mama used to do this to you, humming a song to you in her native language as she gently traced a line from your nose up to your forehead. When the song came to a close, you'd always be asleep without fail. Mama never got to do that for Cairo, but you could.

Unexpectedly, your tent opens and Hoodie peeks in. "Oh, hi! Sorry to barge in but, uh–, we wanted to have a little group discussion about..."

"Us."

Bad nods, his cheeks flushed with an odd off-white blush. "We'll be around the campfire waiting!"

You glance back at Cairo, hesitating briefly. Chat was vehemently protesting leaving her alone but... you trusted xem. She wouldn't do it again and she knew to run if these men turned out corrupt. Picking up your sword, you awkwardly half crawled half squatted out.

Dream, Sapnap, and George were talking lowly. Quiet enough for you to not hear, unluckily enough.

Chat, however, seems to hear them just fine.

"Ouchie"

"Wow can't believe Dream would insult us like that"

"Smh just like every other yt boy"

"Heart been broke so many times..."

Well, that issue was slightly settled. As you walked over to them, a bit miffed at being insulted behind your back and tired, Hoodie noticed you.

"Hey–" They hesitated.

"It's Y/N." Glancing over at Dream and George, who were both giving you neutral looks. Surprisingly Sapnap was the only one grinning.

"Right." Hoodie coughed, wearing an awkward smile. "Well, please sit. I'm sure we can all have a nice and civil discussion."

Dream coughed, muttering to Sapnap.

"I will literally nuke him"

"If he says 1 more thing about my boy I will just start crying"

"Why do we even crush on yt men anymore we're too good for them"

Again, rude much.

You sat down right next to Bad, who you now had slightly more respect for, across from the Trio themselves. Sapnap gave you a polite smile and George was still the pinnical of neutral but Dream... that man was staring daggers at you. You could feel it.

"So, why was I called here again?" You are very aware you haven't asked yet, but the sentence structuring is better so you're ignoring it. For plot.

Sapnap leaned forward, completely unconcerned by how close he was to the fire. "Well first off, Dream wants an apology."

That was rather blunt, you tilt your head to the side to stare Dream directly in the eye and then back at Sapnap. The voices argue over whether or not Sapnap's toothy, boyish grin makes him simpable or not. Again, at least he's not Dream.

"The masked yt boy failed us we're sapnap stans now"

"Sapnap arson pog?"

"Is he yt? He looks yt"

"arson pog"

"ik dream is yt and evil and all but those arms tho..."

Fine, you would be the better and bigger person. "That's fair. Dream, Sapnap, I apologize for being wrong."

"Not for attacking them?" George asked, a brow raised coolly.

"I'm not sorry for defending Cairo. I didn't know who you were, I didn't care what happened to you." It was easy to explain, however rude and blunt it might sound. Your sister, to you, was of the highest priority. Her safety was number 1 to anything else. If you went back in time with the knowledge you have now, maybe you would've tried a different approach. Without that knowledge, however, you'd do it again in a heartbeat. "I am sorry that I was wrong. Sapnap and Dream weren't harming her, so I apologized."

George gives you a slow look before shrugging. "Good enough."

"I accept the apology!" Sapnap chuckled good-naturedly. How he was so easy going was odd, but the voices cooed warmly so you let it go. "No permanent harm done, all is forgiven."

"I suppose I understand." Dream nodded, his voice short and clipped. It seemed your apology hadn't managed to thaw his entire, frozened neutral persona but at the very least it was a room temperature persona now.

"We'd all do anything for the ones we love," Bad agreed, an understanding in his voice. Chat liked him, you realized, and you respected him. An excellent combination not to be skewered. He was rounded off corners at the edge of a table, easy to brush off but able to thoroughly damage someone or a dull pencil point that you accidentally dig into your finger. Innocent at first, harmless at second glance, but truly he was a peaceful persona.

Accidents or anger, and the peacefulness would be a weapon. Peaceful does not mean harmless.

"Well, I'll be off. I've got to get some sleep before we head out tomorrow."

"Tommorow?" Bad crows back. He has a look on his face, well meaning and eager to take in strays, not wanting to let you go yet. Worried, in simplest terms. "I don't think Cairo will be fully healed by tomorrow. Especially not enough for a long walk."

"No, she won't. But I'm planning on carrying xem back to camp." You tilt your head back, glancing at the tent. Cairo should be in xyr bedroll, resting xyr feet. Hopefully. Logically, you knew she would. Emotionally you were anxious to get back to xem.

"You two are welcome to stay here until she's fully healed?" Bad leaned closer, a kind and helping hand. They shook their head a tiny bit, thinking to themselves. "I know the tent isn't the most comfortable but we could set up a better tent tomorrow?"

"Thank you, you are very kind," And it is a sweet thought. Your voices are cooing at the demon already. "But I'd rather be on the road sooner rather than later. Cairo and I are on a tight schedule."

"Where you heading?" Dream tilted his head, like a confused puppy.

"The Antarctic Empire. We have family there. I—," Briefly, you hesitate and glance back at Cairo's tent. "I think it'd do xem some good to be around family again."

Sapnap and Bad nod sympathetically, if not in slight pity. It's an irritating emotion but you've gotten used to it.

"We'll, we weren't planning on heading there but I'm sure a small detour is fine!" Bad glances over at the rest of his group. They shrug or nod and Bad grins. "It's not that far and we've been quite a few times before. We can help navigate around anywhere you might need."

"Anywhere," George says ominously, snickering with Sapnap.

"Maybe," Its all you can think to say. Your voices want to go with them, the load of simps. And logic says to stay away. Ultimately your decision would be left up to the ultimate tie breaker..

Cairo.

"I'm heading out for the night. Thanks again for the tent."

"No problem!" Bad waves you off.

The night is cool but not cold. The crickets are loud in a comfort white noise way. It's nice, the voices agree. Maybe, just maybe, a small part of you wants Cairo to agree.
