unfortunately i have no filipino friends who like mhyk so i'll also just post this here lol ganito na magbiro si faust nung ms2 đđ KAINES
translation if anyone's curious: "sir, is there a discount for cremation if you die from a fire?"
my friend did the osaka bang when we were in osaka and kags is literally my reaction
silver and malleus know each other and I think itâs not talked about enough
they know each other better than Lilia know them
Malleus knows silvers emotions and can read him easier than even Lilia
silver knows malleus feelings
âsilver is pitiful; no one understands his feelingsâ
Lies!! malleus and silver know each other. They know how to read the other.
their connection goes beyond âjealouslyâ or âone is loved more than the otherâ (neither of these statements are true ever)
their love is unconditional
not selfish or favoritism.
i think it's very interesting that Malleus' name is a reference to the book Malleus Maleficarum, which outlined the dangers of sorcery and witchcraft, that was written by some guy name Heinrich Kramer. haha. not to be a lore nerd rn but........
ms2 spoilers but the scene where oz tells akira about arthur's prophecy and says like "please do not let him turn into stone... he has not yet lived 20 years" or something along those lines. and like. wow. it's just so profound and 'desperate' coming from him.
'desperate' in a way like, considering the way oz has lived his life. he doesn't form bonds or relationships or fails to sustain these bonds; it was always others reaching out to him and not the other way around,,,, then arthur comes into his life and he started finding himself reaching out to take care of arthur and reaching out to others to ask for help on how to take care of arthur LIKE. YOU GUYS GET WHAT I MEANNNN
i just finished watching the newest mahoani ep and the end gave me Food For Thought. because arthur was so distressed about the fact that he has yet to repay oz's kindness to him back in the north, but oz is just glad to see him again, taller, older, and ALIVE. i think the arthur prophecy reveal in ms2 was definitely one of my favorite ms2 moments because you could clearly read into the desperation in oz's lines. his affection for arthur ran deeper than his blood and veins to the point that he was summoned as a central wizard instead of a northern wizard; that's how deep he cares for arthur, deep enough for his pure, full northern roots to get mixed with the central ideals
no i actually love that classism is made present and obvious in haikyuu so much, like itâs made to fit so well as an important theme
the difference between the public, private and state schools is so obvious and, imo, well done (e.g. shiratorizawa vs seijoh vs karasuno)
furudate also hits on the urban/rural divide in terms of resources, security, educational standards, etc, and how that affects the tokyo teams compared with the miyagi ones, as well as others
it gets a really good balance between âppl from lower income backgrounds can and do succeedâ, and âppl from privileged backgrounds have a far higher chance of successâ and i love that
some of my favourite examples under the cut, in no particular order
kageyama and ushijima in general, and in their relationships with everyone honestly, but especially hinata and oikawa
âwhat have you been doing the last three yearsâ
ushijimaâs metaphor with plants growing in the best soil (in which the best soil is an elite public school) vs âi am hinata shĹyĹ, from the concreteâ
that line is so. fucking good.
karasunoâs vb team struggling to get access to the gym and daichi competing with other teams for facilities
the whole âyou should have come to shiratorizawaâ thing, especially ushijima and oikawaâs conversation after aoba johsai loses to karasuno (itâs really well done in the stageplay, i canât find the link rn)
actually i feel like a lot of the fandomâs memes and jokes with ushijima stem from lines that are some of the most poignant examples of class dynamics
hinata cycling over a mountain to get to school
karasunoâs coaching team compared with the other ones, and the patchiness in having reliable teaching supervisors in the past
the timeskip jobs. shiratorizawa, nekoma and karasuno come to mind for me as schools that illustrate this really well.
also the difference in types of schools (e.g. dateko being a technical college) is really interesting when it comes to timeskip. actually, i feel like thisâll end up a whole extra post
the parallels and differences between tanaka, kyĹtani and yamamoto
team records of making it to nationals, e.g. shiratorizawa dominating the miyagi prefecture
the roles of parents and the notable absences in many instances
âthe lucky onesâ, i think is the chapter title translation - the one focusing on ushijima and sakusa post-timeskip - itâs a really good chapter
nekomaâs motto being âconnectâ - itâs a key team value, but also highlights the privilege of being well-connected and living in the capital city. it also affects their timeskips, facilities, ability to hold training camps, etc
the everyone-knows-everyone vibe of the town karasuno is in. really hits the nail on the head.
tokyo having an extra team in nationals as the event sponsor slot (i forget exactly what they call it)
it doesnât diminish the impressive abilities of the players who went to public schools (like sakusa, reon, etc) but also acknowledges the ways class privilege helped them to get where they ended up and i just think thatâs a really good balance
oh yeah i live in the uk so in case thereâs confusion, us public school = uk state school. public schools here are an extra elite type of private school (eg. eton, harrow, etc)
Peter, not slept in 2 days and on a minecraft binge: no, no Mr. Stark dont turn the lights off or else the mobs will spawn
Tony, standing by the labs light switch: the who
the one he loves most
âBe curious about what youâre writing aboutâ is not stock Common Writing Advice but it really, really should be. There are a lot of written works that fail due to the authors just being obviously incurious about what they are writing about.
