What I enjoy in old children’s cartoons is when they defeat the bad guy using “the power of love,” but they’ve weaponised love into a high-intensity energy beam of some kind.

Okay, so I said I might not post for a little while but this moment makes my heart soar a little bit. We get to see this moment where Yaz saves the Doctor (though let’s face it, she spends most of the episode saving the Doctor). Normally this is very much the other way around, I present to you exhibits A, B & C:

Instead we get to see that for once, the Doctor is vulnerable and that it’s not always them that saves the day. Yaz might not have gotten the happy ending she deserved, but by god did she do an amazing job at protecting the woman she loves.
