╰┈➤ ❝ [ Across the oceans with the stars as my guide, my Bride, I will find you ] ¡! ❞
Jinwoo was a huge mommy's boy, that's for sure. But like any other son, he idolizes him to the point that he begs Il-hwan to take him out to his mini ship trips to which the old man humors the little boy and teaches him how to be a good sailor boy.
Il-hwan often took Jinwoo in his short trips, mostly just to let the boy be more physically active. After all, young boys oughta be active to grow into healthy and happy men.
Well... That was until Il-hwan lost sight of Jinwoo who wandered off into the island the little boy was accompanying him into to deliver some goods.
While poor Sung Il-hwan's heart was about to burst from his chest— His son meanwhile... Was busy getting heart eyes and butterflies fluttering in silly little tummy.
Jinwoo was your typical idiot child after all, he is reckless and wanders off despite his father's strict orders not to be 10 steps farther away from him.
He just got curious at the pretty little shimmering shells on the sand that seemingly created a path for him to follow.
So what does he do? Duh, he follows it.
As he does so, Jinwoo carefully picks up each shell so he can turn them into a cute little seashell necklace or crown for his baby sister who was just recently born. She's his little princess and he wants to make her as pretty as she possibly can because she is his baby angel.
While picking up the last shell, Jinwoo was startled and fell back when he heard a splash on the waters. He thought for sure that it is his father but instead he was met with a curious gaze peeking behind a moss-covered rock. The orbs were wide and beady, similar to his but more naive. Adorned on the stranger's head were several pearls acting like a glittering stars against the lovely wet strands.
Jinwoo had dropped all the precious seashells he had picked up, but was too distracted on your gaze that the sheepish boy cant help but fumble around on himself.
"E-erm..." Jinwoo speaks up, but soon panicked as he saw your frightened expression. "W-wait, no, no... Don't be scared! I won't hurt you, promise!"
He says, hurriedly lowering himself and then stretching his tiny palms out to you to show that he meant no harm.
Well, how could such bright and round grey eyes show hostility anyway?
So, you also started fumbling around, pushing yourself closer to the curious human and pressing his palms against yours.
Jinwoo seemed to have had his breath hitch when your skins had touched. He kept sputtering out nonesense, before his tiny little digits intertwined with your with his face red to the very tip of his ears.
"Pretty..." Jinwoo mumbles shyly.
It was an odd language to you, but somehow you could tell that this curious little human was very gentle.
And when you beamed, he grins right after.
Innocent and lovely smiles on both your precious faces.
Jinwoo tugs at your hand, leading you to the water so you two could play. He didn't seem to care at the fact that both of you are two different species. While he had legs that could walk and run, you had a lovely tail that you use to traverse the lovely oceans.
You showed Jinwoo the prettiest parts of the waters, while he in turn showed you some tricks he could do. From hopskotch to doing cartwheels and climbing trees just to see you beam as he swung upside down.
Your voice was soundless, and he understood that you did that to protect his ears. There were stories that a siren's voice can burst one's eardrums unless you are bonded to one.
Jinwoo didn't know how long he played with you, but he eventually became tired and just curiously stared into your pretty and dreamy orbs seemingly carved out of the milky way while your foreheads are pressed together.
He then feels a swirl in his heart, a faint, blue glow eminating from underneath the fabric of his shirt. The boy realizes the peculiar feeling, looking down at himself.
But weirdly enough, he wasn't a tad bit alarmed at the mystical sight.
Just as he was about to ask you— Il-hwan's panicked and booming voice echoed from the forest behind the both of you and it instantly scared you away.
Jinwoo helplessly watched you dive into the waters, instantly disappearing into the distant blue instantly.
As soon as Il-hwan sees his little boy, he immediately embraces a dumbfounded Jinwoo who was seemingly too frozen to say anything at all.
"Jinwoo, son, what has dad told—...." Il-hwan pauses, his words disappearing in his throat as he sees Jinwoo's tearful face.
"M-my siren"
"Siren?" Il-hwan scrunches his forehead.
"Dad, my siren!" Jinwoo yells, his face completely panicked as he starts to panic. "My siren, dad my siren! You have to get my siren back!"
"Jinwoo!..." Il-hwan's heart breaks at his son's wailing.
Jinwoo for one was never an insolent or needy child, he had always been good and obedient. Even a bit more closed off than most kids, he's a shy boy who never speaks much. But seeing the state of the poor child this distressed made Il-hwan's heart tremble with sadness.
All he could do was cradle the small boy who kept begging for him to find his dear siren.
⋅ ˚ ₊ ‧ ଳ ‧ ₊ ˚ ⋅ ⋆ ౨ৎ ˚ ⟡ ˖ ࣪
Jinwoo could never really forget that day, no matter how hard he tried he couldn't. Not that he would want to anyway. It would be the same memory night after night.
The sight of that precious siren, how his father spent hours trying to console him a she had his mental breakdown about his precious little 'Friend'.
He would grow into a fine young man, too fine in fact.
The desire to meet you again burned in his heart like a flame dancing in the pits of hell.
Jinwoo wants to find you.
Jinwoo has to find you.
He needs to.
After all, he worked several years earning a reputation in the seas as a cruel tyrant. Not that he is really a villain, no, in fact— He was just passing by a bunch of bastards trying to hijack his ship— The ship he spent hundreds of golds on in order for him to pursuit your missing figure. The nitwits just couldn't sit down and shut up for once.
He spent all of his youth practicing and preparing, researching as much as he can about sirens.
Their habitats, their breeding routes, and their most known locations.
Jinwoo is not an idiot, he actually returned to the very spot he had met you in but found no signs of siren activity. Not even a path of seashells was laid out anywhere even as he circled the shore hundreds of times.
Frustrating? Yes.
But nothing was more frustrating than the fact that all these fucking hooligan pirates were trying to ruin his chances of finding your precious existence in these vast oceans.
He can't waste time playing petty mind games and bargaining.
Jinwoo's gamble is him trying to find a sliver of your trace.
And as he stood bloodsoaked atop of the remains he had mauled so grotesquely, his head tilted upwards with the most faded and lifeless purple orbs gazing at the pouring rain— He felt a sharp stab at his chest.
"Captain!" Beru wails, dropping his sword as he hurriedly assisted his master who had almost collapsed on the floor.
"My liege, you've pushed yourself too much" Bellion says as he took off his cloak and draped it over Jinwoo's figure who was still clutching his chest as if out of breath. "I beg you, captain, please breathe."
"I can't rest not," Jinwoo grits his teeth, moaning in pain as he feels another sharp stab in his heart.
It felt as though his insides are being burned alive, roasting him from within while his heart throbbed like it had a dagger embedded in it's flesh twisting so torturously slow.
Between death and this pain, Jinwoo would have rather chosen the afterlife if it weren't for the fact that he's so fixated on seeking for his precious siren.
His crew would gather around, panicking and attempting to be of help but to no avail
Since eventually, Jinwoo would have passed out from the agony he feels.

"It's not looking good," Igris sighs, running his hand through his long strands after patching up Jinwoo's chest with a bandage. "His injuries are getting more severe by the day."
"Where did it come from?" Beru asks hastily, gritting his teeth. "Did my liege's siren curse him?"
"Far from it," Igris explains. "If the siren had indeed cursed captain, then there is no reason why his the skin directly on top of his heart would rot and create cracks like it's made of glass. The injury not only affects his heart, but also eats him from the inside out. The black ichor spilling out of the wound shows that this is a divine punishment"
"Divine Punishment?!" Beru bellows, his expression turning dark. "Our liege is a gentle soul, why would he of all the bastards of this godforsaken world would suffer such ailment?!"
"Beru, your temper." He sighs, pulling the blanket up to Jinwoo so that their captain could rest more easily. "He has not offended any god, nor is he being punished for his misdeeds."
He takes a deep breath, "It's the aftereffects of being seperated from their mate."
"Mate? But our liege is human?" Beru inquires, flabbergasted.
"Yes, but he has bonded with a siren" Igris scoffs, crossing his arms as if mocking Beru's lack of comprehension. "Our liege told us of the story, of how he met a lovely little siren his age when he was but a wee little lad. A glow suddenly emanated from his chest as if there was a star being planted in his body. That is a typical way for sirens to propose innocently. And our liege has wholly accepted the bonding ritual. Unfortunately, the siren had fled. Prolonged separation from one's mate can result in the symptom's our liege has been showing. His young body is strong hence why he could keep the injuries at bay most of the time. But it seems that our captain will reach his limit soon if we do not find that siren soon."
"...." Beru droops, feeling hopeless.
"Best we let him rest for tonight," Igris simply taps his shoulder, signaling for his colleague to leave the captain's quarters too.

Jinwoo had woken up in the middle of the night, he was completely exhausted from the battle that took place in the afternoon.
He reached out and downed the mug of water waiting at his bedside before getting up and donning a coat over his shoulders to take a simple walk on the empty deck.
"Where are you, really?" Jinwoo sighs, bringing his finger up where a tiny little fish made of water playfully nuzzled his digit. "My darling bride, how am I to gift you all the treasures I've coveted if I cant even have you here, hm?"
Jinwoo had discovered that the little fish friend he had been secretly summoning from his heart was in fact a proof that he and the siren had bonded. If humans had their rings, sirens would have these little creatures as proof of sacramental union.
It was adorable, really.
Sure, one could say that he is only searching for the siren with the sole purpose of prolonging his life but that wasn't his goal.
No.
Even if the bond didn't exist, Jinwoo would still choose the same path as he does now.
If he dies, his siren would die too.
And as a stubborn, reckless and steadfast king of the pirates who even has power above the holy king himself— Jinwoo wouldn't back down in this.
So long as he sees a star twinkling above the unruly oceans, he will continue to sail in search of his precious bride.

Bakugou x Reader Silly crush Part 2
Sorry for the long wait.
As December come, I always get sick because of winter every year added to that I have been spending more time with my family as I have to go back again to work after vacation, the reason why I couldn’t continue writing the second part and post the continuation and I know lots of you wanted this part so I’m really sorry for the delay.
Without further ado, I hope you enjoy the story.
Reader POV
The moment her explosive classmate challenge her the first day she entered U.A, she can’t help but differentiate him from the rest of her classmate ever since.
The first thought that went through her mind after her fiery blond classmate challenge her was how arrogant he was but as they fought tooth and nail, she have to admit he has bite behind his bark.
She had like the exchange she had with him as he have turn her thinking of what she thought of him. She have thought of him as nothing but someone who is cocky just for having a strong quirk and yet he proved to her as someone who would gives everything he has to achieve what he want. He has a standing and she can’t help but respect him even if he’s a little cheeky in her opinion.
However because of her reserve attitude and how frustrated he seems after their training, she have decided to keep her distance from him but one by one, unexpected events led her to finding herself as a part of his gang.
Even though, she knows it’s not his intention to help her at all and he’s only force to teach her because of others, she’s still thankful at how it helped her mingle more with her classmate given that she have only met them.
From studying for her Japanese literature to just hanging out with him and their friends, slowly she can’t help but notice little things about Bakugou.
It’s all started once when he was hit by a quirk to which she have made fun of him nevertheless inside her, she realize she prefer Bakugou being the normal Bakugou Katsuki.
How hardworking he is in his goal of being number one, the confidence he have to not waver in any situation even his usual spitefulness and his brashness or bluntness at times. She can’t help but prefer them more than anything else even if others might see it as weird for liking them.
But at the end, it seems she have teased him a bit too much as it resulted in him ignoring her.
She could only chuckle and apologise before offering to treat him for some food to calm him down.
Once weekend came, she treated him for some spicy ramen and mapo tofu since she saw how he has a taste for spicy food.
Watching as their food was place in front of them, she has to admit that seeing Bakugou enjoying it, she quite like the sight and can’t help but smile even if by the end of the day, she has to secretly buy milk just to calm the stinging in her tongue and the oncoming stomach-ache throughout the night.
She have to admire her explosive friend for his extreme palate while hers are more notably milder even so that didn’t stop her from buying spicy snacks and stacks them in her room just so he could eat something while they’re studying together.
Well, thanks to it, her tolerance for spice got a bit higher even though she still finds them spicy.
She also learned how talented he is at cooking when she witnessed him cooking in their dorms kitchen.
Wanting to have a taste since it rare for him to cook, she pestered him for the next 20 minutes, much to Bakugou’s annoyance but with much pestering, she got a bite that ended with her knocking her forehead on the counter with such a defeated feeling.
He’s more wife material than anyone else with how delicious his food is, she lamented.
“Bakugou, are you trying to be someone wife or something? If so, can you become my wife instead your foods are delicious.”
“HAH!?”
Needless to say, it earned her a smack in the head.
Sitting in their dorms dinner tables, she decided to continue watching her blonde friend cook. Bakugou just gave her the cold shoulder as he continued stirring and adding seasoning on the food in front of him.
“...”
“...”
“Bakugou”
Her explosive friend stood rigid, waiting.
Oblivious, she blurted, “You should turn on the fan. Your face’s red like an octopus from cooking, even your ears.”
...
Let’s just say, it ended with her adoring another bump on the head.
As the year goes by and as they entered they’re last year in U.A, she did notice her feelings for her explosive friend change but the turning point really happened when an unexpected event occurred.
There once was an accident that happened in their hero internship that resulted in her hair being cut off however she has to cut the other excess as well as it got too damaged to salvage, resulting in her looking like a boy after.
Opening the door, she entered their class dorm, thinking how she wanted to take a bath quickly because of how tired she was and wanting to sleep right away and yet noticing the silence that surrounds their usually noisy dorm, she blinked as she saw her classmate look at her.
“What wrong?” She asked, raising a brow at them before all of them erupted, getting up from their sits and coming to her with a worried look.
“No! That’s what we should be asking you?! What happened to your hair?”
That when she remembered.
She quickly explains to them that it’s an accident during her intern and to make sure it’s nothing to worry about since it’s just hair and nothing more.
She knew what reactions her classmates would have once they saw her and yet what she didn’t expect though was how Bakugou would react.
After assuring her friends that there is nothing to worry about, she quickly headed for her room planning to rest however she immediately stops and look back.
A little ways away from her was Bakugou and the glare he was giving her made her want to take a step back at how intense he’s looking but she willed not too instead opted into giving him a strained smile, asking what’s wrong before he stormed to her, grabbing her head and smacking their forehead together.
“You little shit. It’s because of how you’re always fucking spacing around that this happened. You should be fucking more aware of your surrounding! What if it’s your stupid head that got hit instead! And not just your fucking hair?!”
“H-hah...”
Rubbing her forehead, she watch as her explosive friend started scolding her for being stupid, unsure of what to do since making any excuses would only make him explode more than he already does even so, something within her felt warm from his scolding even if he’s cursing a lot.
“Starting tomorrow afternoon, you’ll train with me. I’ll fuck you up until it’s drilled in your fucking head not to let your guard down, you idiot!”
“...Bakugou, you might be the one who would kill me instead of those villains.”
“Fucking hell I am!”
She could only laugh in return, her explosive friend click his tongue then grabbing her hand and walking to her room, yelling at her to bath at the same time he grumpily sat down and grab a book to read while waiting.
They spend the night watching and eating spicy snack after.
After their intern, they quickly went back to school like how they normally do however because of her new looks, it causes some uproar and by the end of the week, she’s always surrounded by female students, sometimes, even getting lunch boxes and sweets more than she usually gets.
She had no choice but to share it with her classmates seeing that there is no way she could eat them all.
Even though it felt like dumping the food to them, her classmates seems to have no problem at all and notice that the males were more than happy eating the foods she have receive but when she offered Bakugou if he wanted some, he refuse them so furiously while glaring the ones that was in her arms.
She even thought that the food would burn itself from the glares he’s giving them however when she was about to eat one, he suddenly snatch it then shoving it in his mouth before taking the rest, shoving and eating them with such fervour.
She watched in a dazed before laughing, “If you want it so bad, you could have said so. I would have given them to you but now I don’t have anything to eat. Hey, Kirishima-”
As she was about to asked her friend to share some to her, her blonde friend smacks her in the head, muttering, “Fucking dense idiot.” before leaving then coming back with a lunchbox which he send it flying to her head and without a word, slump beside her, giving her a glare not to say anything and just eat.
She thought, her explosive friend could be so weird at times but looking at the lunch box in her hand, she smiled.
She much prefer Bakugou’s lunch box than the ones she have receives since she find his food more delicious than anything.
And so without a thought, she ate it happily, not knowing Bakugou’s have gone through all many troubles to cook those foods into her preferred palate.
Everything felt peaceful but as their days goes by, she slowly felt something’s wrong.
Looking like a boy doesn’t really bother her however as she’s being flattered by other female students for her looks and other male students lamenting and crying for her being too handsome to take away their female classmates attention, something inside her slowly made her uncomfortable.
This started making her brood more recently, resulting in getting smack in the head by her explosive friend also.
She could only apologise for spacing out even though her fiery friend have been helping her train.
What she didn’t notice though were the looks that Bakugou’s giving her, frowning in annoyance but a tinge of concerned in his eyes.
Once night came, her classmates decided to go to their rooms to sleep while she decided to stay, bidding them good night.
It wasn’t long before she became absent-minded again, not caring anymore what’s been playing on the television in front of her.
She can’t help but think of what has been happening lately. Although, she’s flattered on being like by other students, the thought of how they started treating her so differently somehow made her insecure for some reason.
It also didn’t help that she have accidentally witness how Bakugou got a confession from a really beautiful girl.
Sure, she has teased him after about it but something started bugging her from the back of her mind.
Remembering such a beautiful girl with unblemished white skin, plump natural red lips, long eyelashes and a beautiful figure for a woman, she immediately felt sick to her stomach, her hands quickly coming up and grabbing a fistful of her short hair, the other covering her mouth.
She didn’t like it at all.
It made her think of how unfeminine she is even though she likes being how she is, being comfortable and friends with her male classmates, no barrier separating them with gender and feeling like their equal but ever since her hair was cut, she felt that she’s being treated differently almost like a boy.
It didn’t help that whenever she’s beside her explosive friend, she hated feeling how short her hair and how it started making her uncomfortable and insecure.
The change makes her dizzy and it’s starting to get overwhelming. It came to the point that it’s also becoming frustrating for her.
Immerse in her own thought, she didn’t notice someone approaching her not before they grab her by the collar of her shirt, forcing her to look up and coming to face two angry vermillion color eyes.
“Didn’t I told you not to let your guard down. I’ve been calling you multiple times already you little shit.”
He didn’t yell, only muttered but the threat behind it was serious.
Blinking, an apology left her mouth in reply, not knowing what to do when the person she’s thinking of suddenly is in front of her.
Letting go of her shirt, her friend grudgingly sat down beside her, crossing his arms, leaning on the sofa before giving her a pointed look, as if urging her to speak but she didn’t know what to say, her mind a mess.
“Again, you’re having a weird expression when you already have such a shitty face.”
“...weird face?”
Did she? Crap.
An uncertain laugh escapes her lips before she clasps her hands together, quickly bending down so as to hide her eyes from Bakugou.
“I’m sure I have always looked like this, Bakugou”
Wincing, what a poor attempt to hide everything from her perceptive friend.
“No it isn’t, just fucking spit it out.”
“...like I said, everything fi-“
“Fuck it is! If you don’t, I’m going to split that mouth of yours. Just having to see that mug face of yours again, I swear I’ll- Tch”
As if catching himself, her friend angrily clicks his tongue.
“...”
“...”
“...Say, Bakugou... Are you worried about me?” She teased.
“Hah!? The hell I am!?”
Watching her friend’s face turn to his usual comical outrage look, she couldn’t help but laugh quietly then covering her mouth as her friend look at her, annoyed but that didn’t stop the smile that stayed on her lips.
Having her feelings lifted a little, she finally decided to tell Bakugou, her worries and confusion at her current state.
How she likes being comfortable being who she is with their friends even though she act boyish at times but that just who she is. Someone who wants to enjoy and had fun with her friends while trying to be the hero she aspire to be however because of what’s happening lately, how she’s being treated as a boy she felt she have to give something.
Words after words coming out of her mouth while Bakugou looked at her at the corner of his eyes, listening intently.
It’s slowly sinking in that she doesn’t know anymore what to do at all.
“Who the hell said you have to give them the expectations they want from you.”
Her eyes widen before turning her head at her friend.
Bakugou look straight at her, continuing, “You are who you are, that’s all that matter. Just fuck those things and do everything at your own pace; you don’t have to force anything. To me, there is no difference from how you were before and what you are now.”
Slowly, the burden she have unknowingly put herself these past few weeks , lifted itself from her shoulders just by hearing his words.
Quickly turning her head away, she felt her eyes moisten uncontrollably but this time a sincere and carefree smile made its way on her lips, her chest bursting with relief, happiness, and unknown warmth and flattering feelings that made her fingers and ears tingle.
“Thank you Bakugou, really.”
She heard him scoff before telling to stop thinking such stupid things again.
Such rude remarks nonetheless the warmth in her chest spread even more in her and she can’t deny, she like the feeling.
Looking at her friend, she admitted,
“Whenever I walk with you these past few weeks, I can’t help but start feeling insecure on how unfeminine I have become.”
Bakugou look at her with surprise, a flash of concern appearing on his eyes but his female classmate continued,
“But hearing your words made me realise that no matter what, I really do like walking right beside you. Now that I think about it, whether if I look like a guy or not, I don’t really care anymore because not being able to walk beside you, I would hate that even more than anything.”
She confesses with a smile, before halting, the sight before of her made her heart beat faster.
Beside her, Bakugou, who was looking at her, is wide eyed, his face completely red even his ears before one of his hands instantly covered his face and averting his eyes as if he wanted to hide such a shameful expression however to her she can’t help but find it beautiful.
Just as she opened her mouth, Bakugou quickly stood up before storming off to the elevator.
“Bakugo-“
“Shut it, shit head!”
Quickly standing up and chasing after him, she saw him quicken his pace at the same time, punching the elevator button and stepping in once it opened.
But before he could close the elevator doors, she immediately ran the distance and entered, grabbing his hand despite his protest.
Seeing his flustered state, his cheeks red, eyes moist and trembling, something in her snap and made her realise something that she have been denying until now.
Grabbing the back of his head, she pinned him on the wall with such force before he could push her away and without a word, she connected their lips and kissed him with everything she have buried for so long.
‘Ah, I’m a fool. I have been in love with him all along.’

CEO Nanami Kento x Reader (slight mention of Geto x Gojo)
You have experienced unrequited crushes since you were a teenager; however, a painful unrequited love is a first for you.
Back when you were in high school, you had a crush on your senior, Gojo Satoru.
You had long forgotten what made you fall for such an idiotic man.
It might have been his charisma, his handsome face, his beautiful eyes, or his skills in being good at anything he took interest in.
However, that only lasted in your second year of high school. Satoru, on the other hand, was in his last year, preparing for graduation and entering college life.
You didn’t know how your group had formed with the famous 3rd-year trio.
But Kento and Yu have been your childhood friends since your family moved into their neighbourhood. So being admitted into the same school was no surprise.
Yet at some point in time, your group somehow merged with the 3rd year trio who were popular in their year.
One is Gojo Satoru for his loud and charismatic personality combined with his handsome face, eccentric hair and blue eyes.
Second is Geto Suguru for his mysterious and calm persona. He's also handsome with his long black hair, which seems to tantalize girls and adds to his charm.
And lastly, one of the school beauties is Ieri Shoko, a brown-haired beauty. She was one of the top students in your school, admitted to a prestigious medical university.
Of course, the two were the same, they were guaranteed a spot in the top college of their own choice.
It was quite comical really. A group of juniors being grouped together with some 3rd years.
Even up to this day, it astonished you how your group had formed, but you could still recall it. It was because of your crush on Gojo that these unlikely people had met and formed.
As the years passed, the two completely different groups of friends remained in touch and grew even closer, especially as you all entered college and made new friends. Your group seems to grow bigger.
In one of your favourite restaurant bars, some of your friends were already there and had started drinking by the time you arrived.
Gojo seems to have taken on the role of a host as Geto and some of your friends have yet to come.
The same could be said about your two childhood friends.
Yu was on his way to pick up his girlfriend from work. They would arrive together later, while Kento was still busy at work with Geto, working on a collaboration project.
Both of them had become the CEO of their own company. Each works really hard to create their own.
You couldn't be more proud of Kento for achieving his dream.
Sitting down in one of the booths, you ordered a drink. Watching as your white-haired friend drank and tried to liven up the party. At the same time, teasing and making fun of your friends and catching up.
You couldn’t help the smile on your lips.
Even though you were in a bar, it was a quiet one. One where you could have a drink and relax with soft music playing in the background.
The bar is illuminated with a cozy ambient from the lights. It was one of your favourites because of the atmosphere and the delicious cocktails and foods they make.
The bartender owner greeted you with a smile and served your drink. Taking a sip, you savour the sweet flavour and alcohol on your tongue, feeling the fatigue slowly ease from your body.
Your shoulders, tense from all the work, relaxed unknowingly.
Turning around, you started chatting with your friends, laughing and catching up, and ordering foods to fill your stomach.
As the alcohol flowed and the atmosphere warmed up, some people's tongues loosened and gossip started flowing.
Flicking the ash from her cigarette, Shoko asked, "So, how's it going with Nanami? I've noticed something more between the two of you lately."
You looked up at your friend, your eyebrow furrowing in confusion.
"What do you mean?" You asked. "I have no idea what you're talking about."
Your friend rolled her eyes, her voice lazy as she teased you.
"You and Nanami. What? Don't tell me you haven't confessed even though he has already returned from abroad. You should take the chance. Don't wait for him to confess first, or you might miss your chance."
Hearing this, you panicked and tried to cover her mouth. However, it was in vain as your other friends turned their heads in your direction, curiosity in their eyes, ready to hear more about this juicy gossip.
Shoko just laughed and gave you a smirk.
"It's not like others don't know… more like they already know your painstaking love for your childhood friend for a long time"
She exhaled a puff of cigarette smoke and watched it drift lazily into the air.
"My dear, you wear your heart on your sleeve too easily. The only one who doesn't know is your beloved Nanami."
“Shoko, please! Will you be quiet!” You pleaded as you leaned over and tapped her on the arm, feeling your face flush.
Groaning, you buried your face in your hand.
"Hmm? What's this? I heard something about Y/n and Nanami. Is there something going on?" Gojo asked in a sing-along tone as he came over.
It seems the commotion between you and Shoko caught his attention and now he's ready to milk you dry for gossip, even though you have none.
“Nothing is going on,” You stated as you gave Gojo a slight glare, warning him to drop the topic. But the man seemed to not get the hint or if he did, he ignored it, feigning ignorance.
"Oh, come on now. Don't be stingy."
You groaned again as you shook your head, feeling an incoming headache already.
Taking a sip of your new cocktail, you tried to ignore the man and hoped he would drop the topic. However, Shoko and Gojo didn't seem keen on stopping as they continued to tease you.
“I was just asking about her and Nanami,” Shoko said as she gave a knowing look at Gojo.
Gojo smirked as he glanced at you, taking the hint. A mischievous glint in his eyes.
“And here I thought you were still crushing on me. How could you cheat on me, Y/n?” He pouted, his smooth lips jutting out and the corners of his eyes pointing down as he looked aggrieved at you.
“I didn’t know that you and Nanami were in that kind of relationship.”
“We’re not.” You snapped, starting to get annoyed at the man-child in front of you.
Both of your friends gave you a look, not believing you in the slightest.
"Just admit it, Y/n. We've seen how sad you were when Nanami went abroad to study. You were so wrecked that you lost so much weight and almost failed your first year of University. You were so miserable without him."
Shoko raised a brow at you as if proving a point, continuing.
"We've also known that you have always loved Nanami all this time, even though you had a little bit of 'scandal' with this idiot here."
She pointed at Gojo, who placed a hand over his heart and appeared offended.
"What scandal? Miss, for your information, I have always been a clean man." He stated, his chin pointing up, being dramatic.
You rolled your eyes at him for his exaggeration and turned your head to avoid your friends' inquisitive looks.
You admit that you had a crush on Gojo when you were in high school. You were attracted to his confident personality and handsome face, but that only lasted until graduation.
However, when Kento went abroad to further his education, that's when you realized that your feelings for him were more than just being a childhood friend.
You were in love with him.
You just never realized it. Since growing up, you have been so used to having him by your side that you have unconsciously taken his presence for granted
But when he left, you felt a massive hole open in your heart. An empty feeling inside you as if another part of you has gone missing.
Because of it, you slowly spiralled down from the sudden realization, leaving you a mess.
You have been in contact with Kento through text, but as time passed, it became harder to maintain. With the time difference between where Kento is and how busy you have been with your University life, your contacts slowly dwindled.
And now it has been almost a year before he contacted you again.
Picking up your phone without checking the caller ID, your eyes instantly reddened when you heard his voice, calm and composed as ever.
"How have you been, Y/n?"
It was Kento.
You choked back a sob as tears slowly gathered in your eyes. A deep ache echoed inside you. How much you have missed his voice.
Taking a deep breath, you tried to steady your voice, not wanting to give anything away, as you know that even a little he would be able to pick up on it.
"I'm doing well. Just busy with school. I didn't anticipate our professor assigning such a huge project right at the start and it seems to keep piling up no matter what."
You scold yourself. Of all the things you have to say, you just have to complain to him even though he finally contacted you after such a long time.
"How have you been, Kento? I hope you're doing well. I've heard that winter there was harsher than here," You awkwardly chuckled, trying to play it off.
"It's not too bad, but I do miss the weather there." Kento's short answer tugged at your heartstrings. Slowly, a tear escaped and rolled down your cheek. You blinked hard, trying to stop the others from falling.
There was a moment of silence between the two of you before Kento spoke again.
"....I heard from Yu. It seems you haven't been doing well."
You froze.
You didn't expect Yu to tell Kento about your condition, though with the anxious looks he's been giving you lately, you guess it was a given.
Looking at yourself in the window, your reflection stared back at you. You noticed the dark, hollowed cheeks, dark circles under your eyes, and dry lips.
Your body had obviously lost so much weight that you could feel your bones protruding. Your arms and legs were nothing but nearly skin and bones. Your face is gaunt and haggard.
It appears that no matter how much you hide your circumstances from your friends, it was pointless, especially from Yu.
You realize what a mess you really were in. How much of an asshole you have been for making your friends worry to the point that they have to contact Kento about you.
You gave a strained laugh, "They're worrying too much. It's just...university has been a little tough. I'm still in my first year so it's a given-"
"Don't lie, Y/n." Kento interrupted, his stern voice making it impossible for you to utter another lie.
He's always been like this. He always knew when you were lying.
The tears you had been holding back came crashing down, and all the pent-up emotions you had been suppressing came pouring out like a tidal wave. You couldn't stop the tears from flowing, and your shoulders shook with sobs.
You pulled the phone away from your ear, trying to muffle your sobs and you couldn't help but whisper, "...I miss you so much, Kento."
And just like that, with a few words, Kento was able to break the dam in your heart.
Your cries came out softly, but you were sure Kento heard you. He didn't end the call, but stayed silent, giving you a moment to let it all out and calm down.
Even though Kento was thousands of miles away, you felt his presence beside you, listening and never leaving you. You knew that he would always be there for you, no matter what.
After a few minutes had passed, you wiped your tears and tried to compose yourself but the soft hiccups still escaped your mouth.
"Y/n" Kento whispered, his voice incredibly soft and tender, soothing your turbulent heart.
"...hmm"
"I'll come back. Wait for me, okay?"
The tears, you thought you had finally stopped from earlier, flowed down your face again.
You swear Kento has a knack for making you cry so easily lately you couldn't help but ponder just where he learned such a thing.
Sniffling, you nodded however you remembered that he couldn't see you.
"Mmm..." You gave a soft reply as you sobbed and cried again.
What he said wasn't a promise but a statement.
You know that Kento doesn't make promises because he finds them nonsense and fragile. But you also know that he is a man of his word, and when he says something, he means it.
So when he says he'll come back, you know he will.
It was one of the reasons why you have loved this man.
You made a resolve to start getting back on your feet and working towards a goal.
You were determined to face Kento when he returned with the best version of yourself. Not wanting to show such a miserable wreck that you once were.
If he ever rejects you, at least you can say that you did everything you could and gave it your best. That way, you won't have any regrets.
"Ah~ but I've heard that Nanami has someone he has been in love though."
Gojo's voice snapped you out of your reverie, and a pang of realization washed over you.
It made you remember why you had been so distant from Kento lately.
When Kento finally returned from his studies abroad, you were the first one to greet him at the airport.
You were shocked by how much he had changed. The boy you knew from years ago was now a man.
Mature and calm. Taller with broad shoulders and a lean waist, handsome with a slender brow and sharp eyes, the naivete that was once there is gone.
Instead of a high school uniform, Kento now wears a suit, and his hair is slicked back with an undercut.
No more of the side bangs that you once always played with.
He was so different yet still the same.
He still has that same stern and reserved personality but cares for those close to him, especially to you.
Once you two reunited, you were so happy. You made sure to always try to meet him despite your busy schedule, trying to make up for all those years that you were apart.
At the same time, you also wanted to show your interest but you also know to show some restraint. You didn't want to scare him.
For now, you were content that he was back.
However, one afternoon, just as you were about to meet with Kento to ask him out to dinner, you overheard a conversation between Geto and Gojo.
The conversation was about Kento, and you couldn't help but eavesdrop.
Geto and Kento had recently started a joint project for their two companies.
So it was no coincidence that you found him in Kento's company's rest areas while Gojo was one of the biggest shareholders in Geto's company. It was a given he was also a part of the project.
You took a step back so as not to be spotted and heard your white-haired friend ask if Kento had a girlfriend as one of his female coworkers seems to be interested in your childhood friend.
Hearing this you couldn't help but frown, your hand clenching and a sour feeling rose in your chest.
Geto chuckled and shook his head.
"Really?" Gojo asked in surprise.
"I thought for sure he had a girlfriend since he seems to be the type to settle down first. Or maybe even a fiance."
"No, he doesn't have one but he does have a girl he really loves," Geto said as he exhaled a puff of smoke, tapping his cigarette.
"He was planning to ask her to be his girlfriend, but something happened and it didn't work out. However, I heard from him that he's planning to ask her again."
Gojo perked up.
"Really! Who is it? Who is Nanami in love with? Do I know her?" He asked excitedly, leaning forward as curiosity got the better of him.
Geto only chuckled at the man's antics before patting him on the head, telling him it wasn't appropriate to tell too much as it was not his place to share such a secret.
Gojo could only whine at his friend and dropped the subject, understanding that no matter how much he pestered Geto, his friend would not budge and reveal the identity of the woman Nanami was in love with.
He instead brought up a new topic to discuss, leaving you wondering who was the girl Kento was in love with.
You were stunned. A myriad of emotions surged through your mind in an instant but eventually, they all melted into a strong feeling of bitterness.
No wonder Kento never had a girlfriend for so many years. It turned out he had someone in his heart all along and now he seems intent on getting back with that girl.
You couldn't help but wonder.
What kind of girl does he like? What does the girl Kento love, look like? If that girl came back to him, would he surrender immediately and reconcile with her?
You even absurdly imagine them together.
Feeling a sob escape your mouth, you hurriedly went home that day, cancelling on Kento through a short message. You didn't call him as you didn't trust your voice not to tremble once you heard his voice.
That day, you drank until you couldn't stand.
You were glad you were home and never went out, otherwise you would have called Kento and made a mess of things, which you would have regretted later.
However, ever since then, you have distanced yourself from him.
Avoiding every gathering with your friends to try to minimize the chances of running into him.
You respect Kento too much to burden him with your feelings and ruin everything. You might resent the fact that the girl he loves might not be you but you still wanted to be friends with him no matter what.
Besides, you also have your own principles that you abide by, not wanting to put yourself in a complicated situation if the girl returns.
But by avoiding him so suddenly, he quickly noticed.
He tried to call you, wanting to confront you about such a sudden change.
You could only make an excuse that you were busy with work, but he knew that wasn't the whole truth.
And since knowing Kento for so long, you already know he wasn't the type to let this matter pester for so long and would eventually resort to seeing you in person.
However, you didn't want to see him, not until you could sort out your feelings for him or else you risk breaking down in front of him.
Without any other choice, you quickly set up to go on a business trip.
Successfully stopping him from seeing you as he wouldn't be able to chase after you because his company was in a crucial situation with the current project he was working on.
Thanks to it, you have been able to avoid him completely however, this time you couldn't turn down the invitation as one of your friends is getting engaged.
You knew you couldn't hide forever, and you didn't want to miss your friend's special day so, in the end, you concede.
Meeting him became inevitable.
Anxious and nervous, you have been drinking a lot since the moment you sat down, trying to calm your nerves and distract yourself.
But once they started talking about Kento and you, the bitter feelings you had been able to push back slowly rose in your chest and your mood turned sour.
You unconsciously started drinking heavily and because of it, your temper became fickle.
Eyeing the man in front of you, childishly making fun of your previous crush on him and on Kento, you couldn't help but realize that the man-child in front of you was the reason why this all started.
Suddenly, the urge to wipe that grin off his face with a slap was so dangerously tempting that your hand twitched.
However, you have been a person to never resort to such action and unnecessary violence. So you tried to think of something, attempting to divert your attention or else you might just do it.
You sigh to calm down but a dark expression still shows on your face.
Seeing this, Gojo eye's gleam with mischievous, unaware that he had stepped a foot on his grave, pushing you over the edge.
"What? Someone's jealous? Maybe I should try being your cupid and set you up with Nanami? Hmm? Maybe by then, I could give your pretty little ass a boost and not be a coward anymore."
Your lip twitched.
Maybe wiping that smug look on his face isn't so bad after all, you thought.
Lifting a hand and caressing his cheeks, you caught him off guard.
You gave a dark smile and a shiver involuntary went down his spine, his back sweating bullets.
SMACK!
Walking out of their own car and heading to the restaurant bar, Nanami and Geto let out a sigh of relief, taking off their jacket and loosened their tie.
They have just finished a meeting that has gone on for hours than necessary.
And now having finally finished, all they wanted was to drink, eat and relax throughout the night before being plunged to work the next day.
However, when they entered the bar, what awaited them was not what they had expected as they witnessed you and Gojo in the middle of the bar, engaged in a brawl.
Clearly, both of you were drunk as your faces were red not only from anger but from the alcohol as well. Your words slurring as the two of you yelled at each other.
What started as a harmless teasing quickly escalated into a messy, comedic fight for your friends to witness.
Holding onto Gojo's shirt and the other on his hair, the tall man has no other choice but to bend down as he did the same to you.
Some scratches and light bruises scattered throughout your body and face. Your clothes and hair a mess.
Gojo shouted, "I'm a liar?! What I said is the truth! You're a goddamn coward!"
"You say I'm a coward, what makes you then?!" You shouted as well, breathing heavily and glared at him.
You tug at his hair earning a yelp.
"Don't think I'm clueless you goddamn man-child. I saw it when you two graduated and Geto-senpai confessed! All these years and your relationship hasn't progressed at all! You two have been together and never left each other side and yet you haven't admitted that you love him. You've done nothing but play him all along."
A vein bulged at his forehead, irritated, Gojo pulled at your hair making you groan.
"Shut up you goddamn woman!"
"Fuck you! You white hair old bastard! Just fucking go and splayed your goddamn legs in front of Geto-senpai and finally get laid! You horny bastard!"
You yelled while your friends who have been calmly watching the whole time, even the owner, laughed at your nonsense screaming match.
That right.
When you secretly witness Geto's confession to Gojo on their graduation day that's when you realize.
Your crush for Gojo was nothing more than an admiration because of his confidence. Confidence in being himself while he unknowingly becomes a love-struck fool for Geto.
You envy and wanted that.
You wanted to be a love-struck fool for Kento but your insecurity and low self-esteem prevented you from confessing your love for the handsome man.
However, seeing that this goddamn idiot had done nothing when he had all the chance in the world while you, on the other hand, were a mess, missing Kento, who was abroad and had no face to confess since the memories of you crushing on such an idiotic guy were still fresh in everyone's mind, made you angry to no end.
You slump as your knees got weak not just from the alcohol but from all the feelings you have been holding back, your previous energy leaving you as the bitter feelings spread inside you.
Tears started flowing and falling on your cheeks without your permission. Seeing this Gojo froze, his grip loosening and the once lively bar slowly quieted as you softly cried.
"No...I'm the goddamn idiot here... I've also had the chance... the chance to confess and love Kento but because I'm a coward I didn't take it..."
You admitted.
That's right. You were angry not only because of this bastard but mostly at yourself for being the biggest idiot ever.
And now, learning that Kento has someone he loves and is thinking of being engaged with her.
Regret filled you to the point of suffocation.
"I only had myself to blame..."
You whimper, now completely drunk as you lose coherence and kneel on the floor.
You felt as though everything was crumbling. Slowly losing your mind as you sink further in your sorrow.
Suddenly, a hand grabbed your waist, lifting you from the floor and pulling you away from Gojo's grasp.
You were brought into a warm embrace, your head resting on a broad chest.
It was then that you heard Kento's voice.
Deep, calm and mature, a voice that always makes your heart flutter and the voice that you have come to love.
"I'll be taking her home as she's too drunk," Kento said, carrying you in his arms as he talked to your friends while Geto dealt with Gojo.
You couldn't help but nuzzle further in his arms, burying your head in his neck and hugging him tightly. Unknowingly, Kento's breath hitched and his heart quivered from your actions.
Geto nodded, saying he'd be taking Gojo as well who was completely drunk, his head was swaying from all directions. His legs no longer had any strength to hold him, already unconscious.
Adjusting you in his arms, Nanami looked at you and found that you were completely unconscious.
He sighs but an undeniable faint blush on the corner of his cheeks and ears can be seen if you look closely.
Ieri who had been enjoying the show and her drinks, saw it and she smiled knowingly as she watched Nanami take your things.
"Nanami" Ierie called and Nanami looked at her.
"Be nice to her, okay?"
Nanami's expression didn't change, but he replied softly, "I will."
Nodding at your friends and the bar owner, Nanami carried you out and into his car that was parked outside.
He opened the car door and put you down, taking a moment to look at you and saw your tear-streaked face.
When he reached out to wipe away your tears, your lashes brushed against his fingers. He paused for a moment, taking a deep breath to calm down then got into the driver's seat, intent to take you home.
This time, he was determined to talk to you, even if you didn't want to. He wasn't going to let you go anytime soon.
Waking up, you groggily sat up as you looked around.
Clearly, it wasn't your room as the bedsheets were different. They were grey coloured and quite soft made of a different material from the ones you use.
The pieces of furniture were simple but obviously high-end and looked strangely familiar.
You didn't know how you got here nor did you remember what happened after you slapped Gojo but the feeling of being carried lingered in the back of your mind.
"Your awake." A deep husky voice said as the door opened.
It was Kento, holding a glass of water.
It finally dawned on you that you were in his place. You have been into his apartment a few times in the past however this was your first time staying over.
A nervous feeling settled in your stomach and felt your cheeks flushing. Whether from the lingering alcohol on your body or because of your feelings and the situation you are in, you don't know.
Still drunk and dazed, you obediently accepted the glass of water and took a few sips before setting it down on the nightstand.
An awkward silence envelops the two of you as Kento sat at the edge of the bed. His arms rested on his thigh and looking at you from the corner of his eyes, deep in thought.
You fidgeted. Your head lowered as you played with the bedsheet in your hand, feeling the soft fabric. You didn't know whether you should talk or not.
From the corner of your eyes, you stare at the man that you have been avoiding these past couple of weeks.
Two of his dress shirt buttons were undone, revealing his slender neck and chest, showing a hint of his muscular physique.
His sleeves were rolled up and you couldn't help but gaze at his forearms. The veins stood out along his arms, and his hands were large with defined knuckles and slender fingers.
His hair was slick back however few strands were sticking out, clearly messed up after a long day.
You might have been drunk nevertheless you still remember bit and pieces how he has carefully brought you from his car to his room.
Gently carrying you, laying you down and assisting you change from your work clothes to one of his.
Helplessly you thought, how could a man be so handsome and so caring at the same time.
Your eyes reddened.
The sour feeling from before sprang up again and tears gathered in your eyes.
Lifting a trembling hand, you covered your mouth as a sob escaped, trying to hide it, not wanting to make the situation worse.
You felt the bed shift then two rough and large hands cup your cheeks, raising your face.
Completely opposite from his usual reserve and stern expression, Kento looks at you with concern in his eyes.
"What's wrong, Y/n?" He asked, voice gentle and soft trying to calm you however hearing such tenderness, your cries seemed to grow even louder.
You stayed quiet. Pondering whether to confess everything or not, however, your heart got the best of you and you blurted.
"I love you. I love you, Kento. I have been ever since. I have always loved you... Please don't leave me." You cried as you confessed, your words became disjointed and frantic as you went on.
You didn't know what was Kento's reaction as large tears rolled down from your eyes, obscuring your vision.
You were sure you looked pathetic at that moment as you cried but that didn't matter anymore as you let it all out.
Long years of repressed emotions have completely overwhelmed you.
Your regret when Kento left, your joy when the two of you reunited. The searing pain of learning the truth that Kento has someone in his heart.
The jealousy and sorrow you drowned in as you distance yourself and finally the overwhelming love you hold for the man in front of you.
As you continued crying and repeating your confession like a broken record, warm lips suddenly sealed your lips, stopping your words.
Kento kissed you.
A strong, fierce and almost devouring one with a mix of revenge, and seeking reparation.
It only seemed to deepen as you felt his hand grab the back of your neck while the other drew you closer and tightened his embrace, as if afraid you would disappear.
You couldn't resist and kiss him back with just as much passion as you could.
Lifting your arms, you hugged his neck and pulled him closer while Kento lifted you in his lap, straddling him.
You kissed as if the both of you couldn't bear to separate. Your tongues danced and lips melted with each other.
You couldn't help but let out a moan, calling his name in desperation. A sweet tingling sensation runs through your body, making your toes curl.
It wasn't until the need to breathe that you pulled back.
Resting your forehead against his, you closed your eyes and felt your breaths intertwining.
Kento cups your face, caressing it and look into your eyes as you open them.
Longing, tenderness and adoration.
Emotions you never saw before now lingered in his eyes
"I love you too, Y/n." He said, his voice so tender and full of affection, it left you breathless.
"But what about the girl you like?"
Kento frowns, confusion in his eyes.
"I heard from Geto that you have someone you have loved for a long time." You quietly said.
Your voice trembling, just asking that question tormented you like no other but you had to.
You have to know who it is even if you are afraid of what Kento's answer might be.
Thinking this, your tears seemed like they would never dry as droplets fell on your cheeks.
Finally understanding what you mean and where you're coming from, Kento chuckled, wiping your cheeks and kissing you on the lips again before moving on to your neck where he felt your pulse.
"The person I love is you. I have loved you ever since and have always been. No one else but you."
You sat stunned for a moment as his confession slowly sank.
You sniffled and a fresh wave of tears fell however compared from before it was out of happiness.
Pulling Kento, you hugged him and fell onto the bed and this time, without reserve, you kissed him first.
Extra:
As morning came and illuminated the room in a soft light, Geto was just finishing his talk with Nanami on the phone when he heard the white-haired man in his bed groan in pain, holding his head.
Putting his phone away, Geto went to the kitchen to boil some water.
A few minutes later, he came back with a cup of honey lemon tea, handing it to Gojo.
Gojo who was in pain from a massive hang-over, didn't notice his friend staring at him in silence and quietly sip the hot tea.
"...So, is it true that you love me too?"
"PSHHH!"
Gojo spat out the tea, blushing, "..."
Let's just say another engagement party was arranged later on.
A/n: I had a hard time finishing writing this one shot.
It became longer and longer as I wrote when I was only planning to make a shorter one but then the plot just kept coming up and didn't know how to finish it. In the end, I had to torture myself to stick with it and finish it after more than 3 weeks of non-stop writing.
God, I'm such a masochist.😭
However, as I was writing the confession part, I couldn't help but start crying and I had to stop midway laughing at myself like a maniac. Oh my god.😭
I swear I won't be doing another long one-shot anytime soon. My brain was mush after this.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this fic! Please leave a comment on what you think!🥹

Hey guys, and welcome back to the next episode of this crossover mini series!
I know that's been a while since anything was uploaded on the Star Stream but as you may or may not know, I had to take some time off from here and focus on my personal life for a while before I was comfortable to come back here to continue writing as it gets colder in my corner of the world. I did get a lot of messages from you guys saying that my health is more important than an update and to take as much time as I needed, that everyone will be here when I come back.
So, to everyone who did send me those messages, I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. I'm really blessed to have found a community who care about me as a person rather than someone whose content is interesting and wants to read more of it.

With that being said, let's see what will be broadcasting on today's Star Stream~! Comments from constellations are welcomed~!

America had been your initial destination to travel after spending a few days in the safe house until you realized it was not a good idea. You had been so focused on completing the scenario that you forgot why you had to avoid the United States; it’s the base of the Scavenger’s Guild, operated by Thomas Andre and where Hwang Doongsoo had been waiting to get clearance to travel to Korea again after being pummeled by Jinwoo’s father. In the novel, the protagonist killed Dongsoo’s older brother, Hwang Dongsuk, in a dungeon. It was in self-defense since the lizard tried to kill Jinwoo and Jinho to make some fast cash.
Dongsoo wasn’t above taking Jinho as a hostage to lure the S-Class Hunter into an interrogation inside an abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of the city before Jinwoo kicked his ass. If this bastard did his homework, he’s probably already aware that you’re connected to Jinwoo, or had been until you left Seoul. Getting involved with a major antagonist would cause the novel’s plot to deviate even further, which will give your shitty Side Character System a reason to penalize you for your unintentional involvement, despite your completion of the previous scenario.
For now, at least you had access to Biyoo’s foodstuff in the System’s shop. The little one needs to eat properly in order to grow up healthy. Mana crystals, not so much since you’ve officially retired as a Hunter. Which brought up the next issues you had to figure out: bringing in a steady income. You’ve saved a lot of money after coming into the novel’s world, but it won’t last forever. You would need to look at online job ads soon. Though if you couldn’t hide in America, there is Europe. The guilds there aren’t close to the ones here in Korea; at most, the relationship is mutual, and you’re pretty sure they wouldn’t care if someone like you is doing a small tour in the corner of their world so long as you don’t cause any problems.
Guess I’ll have to figure out how soon I leave Busan. You thought as you carefully slid the diced up monster meat off of the cutting board with a knife, pouring the rancid-smelling stuff into a small white bowl decorated with tiny paw prints. Biyoo immediately dug in once you placed it on the kitchen island, though she almost squeezed her whole body inside of the bowl.
Seeing the little dokkaebi getting stuck both amused and scared you before you gently pulled her back from behind, careful to not tug on her fur. Definitely will have to prep some meals for too, and there’s also snacks and water.
You groaned. Whoever said planning a vacation is fun needed to be yeeted out of the window. Or go through a scenario. Whichever made them suffer more.
Three days later, you locked up the safe-house and drove to Gimhae International Airport. Biyoo was sleeping in your Interdimensional Cloak, a small pocket in infinity that no one could access except you. Your travel documents were still valid and your carry-on bag had everything you needed. As much as you despised the System, the Item Box feature allowed you to store away belongings so long as it wasn’t taller or heavier than your own body. So when security looked through it with their scanners, all they would see were five days’ worth of clothes, toiletries, a charger, and a book. At least you hoped so.
In the end, they gave you clearance to board the flight, and you left Korea to explore the world. There is a small part of you that didn’t want to leave Korea, you couldn’t lie about that. As a reader, you wanted to make sure that this story reached all the way to the happy ending, even if that’s what the Side Character System is supposed to do. Of course, too much interference from you came with the alternation of Jinwoo's memories. His memories of you.
It first happened at the hospital. You visited him and made sure he was all right, bringing him some flowers and a plastic bag of his favorite takeout. But instead of seeing a flustered expression on that cute face or a smile, he stared at you as if you were nothing to him. That you meant nothing.
“Who are you?” He asked calmly, his voice steady and with no trace of emotion whatsoever. You had looked at him for a moment before you smiled bitterly. Of course it’s a sadistic System. When its host doesn’t play by the rules, penalize them in the worst way possible: by having the person you care about the most not know who you are. So you lied and said you were a friend of Jinah’s and came to visit him on his behalf. He bought the excuse, and then that was that.
You did try to be nice though, when you did cross paths with him in the dungeons. But whenever you said hello to him or extended an invitation to grab a drink after the raid was over, Jinwoo would stare at you with narrowed eyes and politely decline. At this point in his second awakening, he grew distrustful of everyone and believed they had a motive for wanting to associate themselves with him. It wasn’t hard to deduce that he thought you would spike his drink. But you would never hurt the protagonist when all he’s ever done to you is give you hope in a fuckled up world in those pages you’ve read over and over on your phone. You were cruel, perhaps an irredeemable monster, but not to that extent. So, you remained his life companion, but operating from the shadows and ensuring that his family would be safe and taken care of whenever he left for extended periods of time to level up.
In your defense, you had tried to ignore Jinah’s phone calls with a text citing that you were pretty busy but promised to take her out for coffee when she wasn’t studying or doing chores. But somehow, she tracked you down at a cafe near the train station and demanded why you were avoiding her. You had to lie to her about what was going on because the System threatened to remove her memories if you stepped out of line. Although she wasn’t happy with the story you spun about working too much and lost track of time, you pleaded with her to not say a word about you to her big brother. Sung Jinwoo would hunt you down and kill you if Jinah mentioned it.
Naturally, she was confused by your paranoia but swore she wouldn't say anything, but hoped things between you and Jinwoo would get worked out because she did miss hanging out with you. You felt your heart plummet to the pits of your stomach when she said that, but you hide your grimace behind a practiced smile. It would never happen because he doesn’t remember you.
Time passed, and you had died protecting him in the red gate and he did not blink as you fell into the snow and took the blow that would have severely crippled him in the fight against the Ice Slayers. Typical of a protagonist like Sung Jinwoo. And a reminder that you will never have a place in Korea, in the world of Solo Leveling, in the protagonist’s heart. As if you really needed to be reminded how insignificant your role is. Plus, he’s fated to be with Cha Hae-in, and that is his happy ending.
You’ve read those moments in the novel over and over, but having the Side Character System broadcasting them on the screen for you to remind you of your place is a little different than seeing the written letters. You saw how flustered the cool-headed protagonist will get when his shadow accidentally showed Hae-in soaking in the tub when he was raiding the High Orc dungeon with Jinho. You saw Cha Hae-in stumble over her words when he asked her why she wanted to join his guild, and how her townhouse shook after she saw a picture of him with another woman on social media.
These images were a message. A warning to not cling onto hope and just let Sung Jinwoo go. To forget about him. And that’s what you have done. Now? You’ll have to make one on your own without a phone or a notebook or Sung Jinwoo. It was time to move on. Start a new chapter in your life as a background character.
The first stop on your itinerary is merry old London. And from there? Well, you’ll figure it out as you go.
Taking a hot-air balloon ride in Italy. Walking through the Hall of Mirrors at Versailles. Buying souvenirs and trying street food in Istanbul’s Karakoy Alley. Enjoying a glass of wine with a plate of tapas after visiting the Basilica in Barcelona. The world is definitely bigger and brighter outside of Seoul. Instead of screenshots on how to defeat monsters and completing scenarios, there are more photos of you and Biyoo, with her acting like a stuffed animal in your hands at different destinations.
Although touring Europe isn’t a bad thing, there’s still finding a job and a new place to live. Active and retired hunters received certain benefits as long as they kept their license from expiring. It’s why you’ve been able to create so many memories with Biyoo as you have without going broke. But you were cheap, and you would not purchase a house in Spain no matter how persuasive the real estate agent you’re meeting is or the travel blogs say. Staying in the country for over 90 out of 180 days is not allowed for foreigners, even if they have a visa and a Hunter’s license. London had apartments, so did Paris. Problem was most of them had thin walls, so anyone could hear Biyoo if she left alone, mewling anxiously for you to come back home. The last thing you wanted was to draw more attention to yourself.
Almost a month and half later, bouncing between hotels and filling out job applications, you can safely say that you were financially secure and all settled in your new chalet in the French Alps. You stay there in the summer, and rent it out for a fee during the winter when everyone comes to ski or snowboard. That’s where your secondary home, a modest villa in Padua, Italy, came into play. The gardens were extensive enough for Biyoo to wander around in with no nosy neighbors, and your job allowed you to work remotely, so income was no longer an issue.
Who would have thought Hunters struggled to find the best places to go on a family vacation or wanted tips on not getting scammed at speciality stores when they were out of town? The magazine you now worked for is like America’s Better Home and Gardens, but geared towards Hunters. The supervisor gave you an assignment and you would email the completed article by the designated deadline. Easy enough, and that you were a former Hunter wouldn’t be public knowledge without your explicit consent is a delightful bonus. It also helped to have a pen-name too.
Things were finally quieting down, allowing you and Biyoo to have a peaceful life far, far away from the novel’s plot. So why hasn’t the next scenario appeared yet?
Did the Side Character System go on a hiatus until certain conditions are met to trigger it again? Is there something you’ve overlooked in your haste to leave Korea? You weren’t sure, since you were still required to complete the daily quests or else there would be a penalty.
You just hoped this period of tranquility wasn’t an omen that something terrible was going to happen soon. Biyoo wouldn’t be able to handle another sudden move. It would stress her out and she’d go on a hunger strike.
What you didn’t realize is that trouble in the shape of a brooding S-Class Hunter is already on his way to Europe for a meeting with the Editor-in-Chief of a magazine at their London headquarters for an exclusive interview. Or so that’s what Sung Jinwoo told them over the phone.

Hello everyone, its Heirloomgem here! I hope everyone is doing well.
As everyone knows, we did a voting poll for a monthly one-shot and the result was a landslide victory for YES!😁
Thank you so much for taking the time to vote! It means a lot to me.🥰
Anyways, since the final decision is a definitive YES.
The monthly one-shot voting poll will be with 3 different animes/mangas with each character. You can pick and choose whoever you want and whoever character wins, I'll release a one-shot fic of them.
You can also send me some suggestions/requests regarding the characters that are picked for the month only. However, I won't be able to do all the requests as I'm only picking some to write about.
With that said, I'll be only writing and posting a one-shot on the character who wins.😘
And so without further ado, we'll start now!
Here are the characters for August One-shot series to pick from:
Once 1 week is up and the result is out, I will be posting a one shot series on the winner right after.
Result from Vaseline shampoo😎😁 joke
I’d risk it all for Beni 😳 👉🏽👈🏽
As I was writing this, I was wondering if Albert even need a S/O since in canon Albert seems to have something going on between Mycroft (No, It’s just my yaoi mind that saying there is haha) so I was like ‘Do I even need to do this when they are already flirting with each other in chapter 65?’
Anyway, I hope you like it.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Yuukoku no Moriarty and its characters. This is only mere speculations on the type of person that I think Albert would fall for. It is up to you and to Albert to decide if it’s true.
What type of person they would fall for?
Albert James Moriarty
So let start with the hard truth ladies and gentlemen, the truth is that the type of person that Albert would mostly fall for is:
· An Elegant and Classy person. (Yes, I even have to swallow this bitter pill for myself, who isn’t elegant and classy at all)
· But anyway, an elegant and classy lady isn’t your stereotypical rich lady in movies or drama at all
· They are ladies who are strong and confident. They have self-respect and respect for others. Intelligent and authentic.
· You might say, this type of lady is too much or that this is too ordinary because elegance and classiness is the norm because of how the manga’s timeline is set where aristocrats have etiquette.
· BUT this elegant and classy lady is really not only about a lady who is part of the aristocrats or someone with status. This lady can also be someone who doesn’t have status.
· So let me explain without the glamour of money or status to state that this type of woman is an elegant and classy lady.
· First, Strong and confident.
o Being strong and confident means that they are someone who are secure with their self. Even if they are of common birth, they don’t mind it at all. In fact, they embrace that part of their identity and make it as part of who they are and uses it as a foundation for their character as they grow throughout their life and because of this they won’t feel embarrassed at all when they meet Albert and introduce themselves at him. This confidence would attract Albert as he can’t help but see it as their natural beauty and because of this, they would come as someone trustworthy in Albert eyes.
o However in case if they are of someone with status as a noble, they would be someone who is confident and strong at the same time humble and thankful for what they have. They won’t be boastful of their status and think they are someone of higher standing than the rest. This would come as someone mature to Albert and in return earn his respect and attraction.
o A classy woman might carry a lot of self-confidence and power but she is never a pushover, taking over a show.
· Second, self-respect and respect for others.
o Let talk about self-respect, this trait is about someone who respects herself and her surroundings. She’s a woman of value however she genuinely cares about others as well and so she treats everyone always with respect.
o This signals their own self-respect because they treat others how they wish to be treated themselves.
o At the same-time, in case someone tries to pick a fight with them, they first prefer to take a step back than start defending them as they never see the point of any heated arguments. But if someone doesn’t get the hint that they would ignore their attempt to fight, they will put their foot down in a neutral manner without ever losing their face and they do it with certain finesse.
o They react with confidence and authority, saying something in an educated manner that will put that person back in its place.
o Along with self-respect, Albert also find it attractive on a woman who doesn’t throw themselves to him because I think having a lot of woman, who throw themselves at him, is too much already. He thinks this kind of woman, who throws themselves at him, doesn’t value and respect their selves,’ which means to him that they don’t hold that much respect for others as well. And that is a big turn off and big no for him.
o A woman who respects herself and knows exactly what she deserves in life is a big turn on for Albert as in turn Albert would immensely respect her as the greatest and honourable beautiful woman in his entire life.
o As for respect for others is a given trait that Albert would fall for. As shown in the manga and the anime, he really abhors those who don’t, especially people and aristocrats, who don’t concern themselves with the unfortunate people and aristocrats whose actions are unbelievably disgusting.
o So someone who concerns themselves helping people even if it’s small is something Albert would really appreciate. Their actions don’t need recognition as they know it’s something they want to do and they really only wants to help others.
o They also have to be a woman who respects a person for their character. They don’t base their treatment on a person base on how much money, education or what background a person has.
· Third, Intelligent
o Being intelligent doesn’t just mean being educated but it can also mean that she have a good head on her shoulders.
o It’s not only about how much she knows, it’s also important to have her own thoughts and opinions. Albert would find that attractive and they would earn more of his respect when she shares her true views and observation when engaging in conversation with him. I can’t help but think that Albert would find a woman empty and boring if they are a woman with little substance. It’s hurts to admit but it’s the truth.
o They are also practical when it comes to money. Either they are of common birth or a noble lady; they don’t waste and indulge on their luxury. They have to be a woman who uses her money for good use. Such as starting a business and uses the money for improving her territory and helping the poor people.
· And lastly, Authentic
o Authentic is someone who is true to herself. They know their ways and they’re values. They don’t bent for others even if they are of common birth or a noble lady. They stand true to their selves.
o They also have to be someone who can do, depend and act on their own. If a woman who can do things on her own, this will attract Albert a lot because Albert wants in a partner is someone who he can see someone eye to eye and be equal in their relationship. As this can show when in times of his weakness, he can have someone who would support him and in turn when they are in their weakness, Albert will do the same for them.
So all in all, these are mostly the trait that would make Albert James Moriarty fall for someone. I pick these traits mostly because of what was shown to us from Albert past and what he did to his family. His family is nothing but arrogant and egoistic aristocrats, who doesn’t concern themselves with the common people who really need help because of the improper power balance between aristocrats and the common people.
And with the way his parent also fake their kindness is nothing but disgusting so having someone, who I have mention above, is the type of person that would really interest Albert James Moriarty.
Author Note:
Thank you for reading. Please do leave a comment if you think so otherwise and if you have any idea on what kind of person Albert James Moriarty would fall for, please don’t hesitate and tell me.
Once again, thank you and I hope you like what I wrote.

Disclaimer: I don’t own anything except for my characters and plot.
Warning: Slight Yandere from the reader and Jinwoo. Sorry for the missed grammar.
Hello everyone, I hope you've been well! I would like to present to you this month's one-shot! The timeline is before Jinwoo met Joohee.
The request came from @xxeclipze. [Hello! Can you make a sung jinwoo x s rank fem reader whose a grim reaper class, she's quiet and a simple minded person who has never once joined any guild since they want to stay independent.][Hello! Can you do sung jin woo with a s/o who's a quiet and simple minded person and they wield a scythe, they had never once joined a guild at all. They're a s-rank hunter too :>]
Watching from the podium as every high-rank hunter did practical combat, Sung Jinwoo's eyes never left your figure as you fought your opponent with the grace and precision he had seen in his early days.
Your hands show no wasted movement as you strike, your steps were solid as you stride to your next target, and your eyes, observant of your enemy's weaknesses.
All these never escape him and yet it’s not just these that Jinwoo observe closely.
The way your hair swayed with your movement, the spark in your eyes as you enjoyed the thrill, the curve in your reddish lips as you taunt your opponent, the sweat that trickled down your slender neck as you tilt your head.
Completely different reasons that he shouldn’t have noted in the first place, however to Jinwoo, he fervently etched it into his very being.
Once, Jinwoo heard that a small spark was all that was needed to ignite a man's obsession.
As the weakest E-rank, Jinwoo was always on the verge of death whenever he entered a dungeon. But with the circumstances, he’s been given, he never had a choice but to always take a step towards death.
And this one was no different from the others he had faced and yet so different at the same time.
The sole reason for that is because of you. An unknown S-rank hunter who was not affiliated with any of the guilds however you work with the hunter association in exchange for keeping your identity.
Jinwoo has learned these only by coincidence when you had been assigned to work with him and the other hunters for another raid.
Jinwoo's impression of you at first is a weird, playful but kind hunter as you accidentally bump into him. The coffee that he just bought spilled on his shirt.
Seeing this, you quickly panicked, bowing profusely, and apologizing.
Seeing that the situation was unavoidable and it was just a pure accident, Jinwoo waved it off with an awkward smile, hoping to diffuse the situation. However, that didn’t seem to work as you looked at him and the coffee he dropped, a flash of guilt on your face.
Bowing again then you quickly ran off in a different direction, Jinwoo thought that that was the end of your interaction however it wasn’t long before you returned, this time with a drink and food in hand.
Giving him the food and drink and not even waiting for him to decline, you told him it was in return for earlier.
Jinwoo, with a panicked expression, tried to decline “This is too much it's just a coffee that was spilled. You didn't have to go through all that trouble.”
With clear and bright eyes, you smiled, “This is nothing. Beside the coffee is for the coffee as for the sandwich…”
You grinned before putting a finger in front of your mouth, “It’s because I find you cute.” You winked and chuckled as Jinwoo blushed. Seeing him so flustered, you couldn't help but find him even cuter.
Thinking that’s enough teasing for the young man in front of you, you winked and smiled at him before giving a small wave and left; leaving a frazzled Jinwoo.
Staring at your disappearing figure, he couldn’t help but think for a moment of your smile. It was beautiful and sincere even though a glint of playfulness was mixed with it. It's so unlike the ones he was used to receiving when he became a weak fool of a hunter.
And for some reason because of your smile, he finally accepted your offer. The lingering hesitation he still has vanished and a warmth ignited within him.
Smiling, Jinwoo took a bite of the food and enjoyed the enriched flavour of coffee on his tongue, his mind drifting to you again.
When he had been trying to calm you down earlier, he took notice of the massive bag behind you, deducing it might be your weapon.
Unusual though never rare as he has also seen other hunters carry such weapons in size. The only thing he’s worried about is that your choice of weapon might have been too big for you as he saw how petite you were.
Later, he considered how foolish he was to have such thoughts as they entered the dungeon and were unexpectedly engulfed by a red gate.
As soon as they entered, everything was calm and controlled. The more experienced hunters were swiftly taking down charging monsters, while he did his best to defend and went after the weaker ones. Unfortunately, his caution didn't prevent him from getting injured.
As the group delved deeper into the dungeon, the atmosphere grew increasingly perilous. The mana in the air darkened, making it difficult for the hunters to breathe, and a sense of fear began to weigh on their minds. The monsters they encountered were noticeably more powerful than those they had faced earlier.
Even the strongest hunter in their group was visibly struggling to deal with the monsters, while Jinwoo could only focus on defending his life.
In the corner of his eyes, he saw you.
He couldn’t help but find it weird as he never saw you use the massive weapon on your back. Only a short sword in hand when confronting such monsters.
However, before Jinwoo could ponder more, screams echoed from all the hunters in his group and he felt like a massive weight fell on him, making him slam into the ground because of an unknown fear and bloodlust that suddenly appeared in the air.
His ears were ringing, his mind disorientated, but once Jinwoo got his bearings, he struggled to lift his head and saw that all his comrades had fallen to the ground. Some fainted, some half-conscious, coughing up blood.
That’s when Jinwoo noticed liquid dripping from the corner of his mouth. The taste of iron on his tongue. Looking down, he saw red droplets staining the ground.
He then heard a growl, a group of monsters slowly prowled at their group as they eyed them, ready to hunt and eat them for their next meal.
Jinwoo thought that things couldn’t get worse when suddenly a massive creature, a chimera, emerged. It’s the dungeon's final boss.
Dread filled Jinwoo’s being.
The thought of his sister waiting for him at home and his mother in the hospital made him tear up as he struggled to get up, to get away.
Abruptly, Jinwoo saw one of the monsters run up at him. The monster's fangs were just about to hit him when he felt a gush of air ruffled his hair. The monster that was about to kill him was now lying in front of him, cut in half.
Blood splattered on his clothes and onto his face; Jinwoo looked up. There in front of him, he saw you.
A massive scythe in hand, adorned with a crimson essence stone, almost resembling a demon eye. A long curving silver blade extends from a skeleton whose skull is wrapped in razor-sharp blades sticking out in different directions, while the rib cage connects to the red and black stem of the handle, which ends in its lower backbone.
“Are you okay?” You ask, your eyes never leaving the monsters that started circling your group.
Jinwoo silently nodded before realizing you couldn’t see him “I am.”
“That’s good. Take cover for a moment.” You frowned, eyes without the hint of joy nor playfulness from earlier. And yet Jinwoo couldn’t help but find you alluring at that moment.
With a flick of a wrist, your scythe twisted in your hand with ease as if the massive weight was nothing and without a moment, you disappeared, only leaving dust in your wake before Jinwoo heard yelp and howls of pain echoed as you dealt with them swiftly.
Heads torn from their necks and split in half from head to groin. This was the sight Jinwoo witnessed in disbelief as you fought them with such calmness.
All of a sudden, Jinwoo saw the chimera preparing for a breath. He screamed, not caring for his life but yours, “Watch out!”
Evading at the last minute and with a solid step you rush forward, a hand lowered on your weapon's handle and this time you swing your weapon much faster and sharper, completely decapitating the boss of the dungeon, not even leaving a chance for a counterattack.
And with a loud thud, its two heads fell on the floor, cracking the ground.
Finally, as if a weight was lifted from his shoulder, Jinwoo couldn’t help but hyperventilate. All the suppressed emotions he had been holding since the moment he noticed that there was something wrong with this dungeon, came crashing down.
He clutched his chest and tried to calm down, but no matter what, he couldn’t, and beads of sweat dropped faster than the last.
Glancing at him, you turned back, kneeling before him and placing a hand on his forehead. Ignoring the sweat and blood that clung to him.
Still breathing with difficulty, you frowned before meeting your forehead with him, your eyes locking with his frantic ones.
Your voice quietly whispering, “Take it slow and match your breathing with me… that’s its. Just like that…”
Your soft and warm voice made him follow with ease. The soft caress of your hand on his cheeks calmed him down and calmed his trembling body without reserve as he basked in your soft gaze.
The sensation in his cold limb slowly came back as your warmth spread throughout his body. He was sure his ears were tinged with red now that he regained his bearing, though still disorientated.
Sensing that he had calmed down, you smiled softly.
“I’ve heard many things about you, but from what I’ve seen so far, you’re a strong person.”
No, he wasn’t. Jinwoo thought. He wasn’t strong as a hunter. He’s the lowest in his rank. If anything he was barely hanging on supporting his sister and mother. However, before he could wallow more in self-pity, you interrupted as if you heard him.
“Of course, I’m not talking in that sense.” You chuckled.
“I might not know you that well, and we have only met today, but something in you just told me you're a strong person because you're so kind."
You admitted, closing your eyes as you nuzzled into him, ruffling his already messy hair.
Since your first raid, this man immediately caught your attention. Not because of his rank or anything special but because of the kindness and strength inside him.
Learning new little details about him as you observe him every time, a fondness within you arouses.
Even though your personality changes into a confident combatant whenever you enter every mission, you don’t dare to talk to him. Shy and blushing at the mere thought of talking to him, but the incident earlier gave you the courage you needed to take the first step.
Even at this moment, you knew you were pushing it; however, with the way your path is going as a hunter. This was the only time that you might be able to confess to the man who has caught your attention so wholeheartedly.
You did have past crushes; however, they were only admiration by the end of the day and faded right away but this time, it’s different.
He’s different from everyone.
Deep inside, you realize that there wouldn’t be anyone who would be able to compare to him and that there wouldn’t be a chance for you to be with anyone because of him, however, you didn’t mind.
He captured your very being.
Opening your eyes, you softly and lovingly gaze at him causing his already flushed cheeks to turn redder and his eyes reddening.
Noticing that your breaths were intertwining together, your eyes lowered and stared at his lips. If you moved even a little, your lips would finally touch but...you knew that this wasn't right.
He wasn't yours, and you weren't his.
And so with a deep ache inside of you, you close your eyes again, chuckling and lifting your head. Jinwoo then felt your warm and soft lips on his forehead, hearing you say before his consciousness slowly faded.
“You won’t be able to remember this but I like you, Sung Jinwoo.”
And with that, everything went blank.
The next time he woke up, medics were rushing everywhere, assisting him and every hunter who were now out of the gate and regaining their consciousness.
He couldn’t help but look everywhere, looking for you in particular.
He didn’t know why, but now a part of him longed for you deeply, and with time, it seems to only intensify.
Walking towards you with a calm façade but with trembling hands in his pocket, Jinwoo helplessly clenched them tightly, holding his sanity.
It’s only been a few years but he felt like it’s been an eternity.
As Chairman Go Gunhee introduced him to you, Jinwoo felt some blood flow from his trembling fist as his nails dug into his palm.
Jinwoo lowered his eyes as it darkened. He tried his hardest to calm down as he felt that at any moment he might just grab and attack you, his desire and longing just barely contained.
Letting out a small breathe, he then gave you a close-eyed smile, apologizing to you in his mind.
Now that he finally caught up, this time, he won’t let you go that easily like he did when he was a weak hunter.
Now that he remembers your confession, it’s only right of him to reciprocate it, right?
A/n: It was only supposed to be a short one-shot but it got longer than expected. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this one-shot!

Entering [MEMORY 1: THE FATED MEETING]
Jin-Woo opened his eyes and saw a familiar sight. The Hunters Association. He looked around and noticed his former self coming out of the room with a sigh and glum look. He recalled this; it was the day he first got his rank evaluated after his awakening. He walked to stand in front of his memory, noticing the difference in height and build, as well as aura. He received the lowest rank possible and showed the lowest mana measurement possible. This was a memory he didn’t mind forgetting.
“Aren’t you too young to be a Hunter?”
Jin-Woo flinched. It was that voice again, and that came right behind him too. He turned around and saw an unfamiliar figure. His eyebrows furrowed. He didn’t recall this, meeting someone like that after his evaluation. It never happened before.
“I have too.” His memory-self spoke timidly.
“I’ll bet it’s for money.” The mysterious figure spoke with an understanding tone, no malice, no mockery, nothing but care. “For yourself or…”
“My mother and younger sister.”
“Very noble of you.” The figure smiled warmly. “Can I offer some help? I’ve been around and I can direct you to some raids and teach you the basic of being a Hunter.”
“You won’t convince me to quit?” While Jin-Woo does not know what his memory self is thinking, he could guess and understand why his past self said that. The people that helped him get his rank all tried to persuade him to give up any thoughts of being a Hunter and going into raids, because it would mean pain, suffering, and death.
The figure hummed and chuckled. “No way I’m doing that. Not when you’ve already decided that you’re going to go through with it. The least I could do is help you experience better. By the way, I’m with the Hunter's Association. I work all over the place, so you can always approach me with anything. Hunter [Last Name] [First Name] at your service.”
Jin-Woo’s eyes widened. So this person was the Hunter Jinchul was talking about, what’s more, he knew her. He turned to his past self, seeing himself exchange names and contacts with the Hunter. His hand reached to clench his heart as he felt it ache uncontrollably. An unexplainable feeling over his entire body while he watched the two chat and laugh.

Entering [MEMORY 2: INTRODUCTION TO BETRAYAL]
The surroundings changed, and now he was inside what appeared to be a dungeon. He read over the memory’s title; this can’t be a positive one, but he has zero recollection of this place.
“What do you think you’re doing?” Your tone was icy and demanding, as were your composure and expression. You stood between a fallen memory of himself and a smaller group of Hunters; he also did not know who they were.
“In a moment, monsters will fill the room. By then, we can’t survive, and an outbreak will happen.” One of the Hunters said, “We need to assess the situation and focus on what best to do—the greater good.”
“The greater good you speak of is to sacrifice Hunter Sung to the monsters while we leave. Don’t you hear yourself right now?” You glared at the Hunters, your hand stretched out to your side as protection to the E-Rank memory self behind you, all weakened and frail. “Forget it!”
The enclosed cave shook and made everyone wary. “You’re giving us no choice! We’re out of time!”
A smirk formed on your face. “Then why not die together? I rather that than let you let advantage of those you think are prey.”
One wall fell, but what caught Jin-Woo’s attention was the holographic book that appeared behind you, flipping its page to stop at a certain one before encasing both you and his memory self in a protective dome. Just as the Hunter team realized what you had done, goblins brutally ripped them to shreds. You hugged his memory self close to you, your words ringing loud amidst the chaos.
“Jin-Woo, I won’t always be able to care for you. Please know that you should always follow your gut feelings when it comes to shady people. When you can’t beat them in strength and power, protect yourself from danger. By any means necessary.”
Was this why he could tell that Hwang Dongsuk’s team was dangerous and shady from the start? The familiarity of the situation came to him and gave him the direction he needed to take, even when he had forgotten about it all. He encountered a similar situation with another Lizard team in the past, but he had protection, which resulted in a different outcome.

Entering [MEMORY 3: HELPING DEAL]
Now he was in his somewhere he was all too familiar with. The hospital where he frequents for his wounds and injuries and his mother. He watched himself stressing over the various papers to pay bills, medical fees for his discharge and treatment, continuous medical fees for his mother, school tuition fees for Jinah, the rent for the month, daily living expenses. The list goes on. He couldn’t help that he was weak and was knocked out of commission during a raid, yet his life goes on and if he can’t afford all this then…
“Let me see that.” The papers suddenly yanked out of his memory-self’s hands. “You just recovered, and you’re panicking looking at all this. Seriously, what am I going to do with you, Sung Jin-Woo?”
Jin-Woo had somehow grown accustomed to your continuous appearance in his memory. Unconsciously, his form would stand as close as he could to you. If he couldn’t, then he’d move to the perfect spot where he could see you and commit you to memory. Well, this was his memory, but he’ll add it to the lost memories he will recover here soon. Okay, stop, too confusing. Either way, he’ll remember. By now, he knew his face shared the same smile his memory-self would have when you appeared by his side.
“I can’t help it.” His memory self sighed in defeat. “I think I need to trouble you for some raid tag-along or invitation.”
“No need.” You looked over the papers and your phone at the same time. “I got a quicker solution for you to earn quick cash. Easily, in fact, you can do it immediately.”
“Really?” His memory-self’s eyes sparkled. “How?!”
You pointed at yourself. “Your piggy bank is right here.”
Jin-Woo and his memory-self had the same reaction as they both gave you a look saying, ‘are you serious?’.
You waved your fingers, setting the papers on the table, “No need to think you owe me or anything, just think of me paying for your friendship or something.” You shook your head, “No, that won’t do. Hmm. Ah, why not let you pay me back in the future? I have a gut feeling that you’ll earn big money then!”
“How can an E-Rank earn big money?” His memory- self questioned you. Jin-Woo wondered the same, you sounded confident, and this wasn’t the first time he had seen you check your phone for something before doing it. It was like a habit of yours or something like your safety net, to double-check before anything. He even tried looking at your phone screen when you do, but it was pitch black for him as if something was preventing him from seeing what you do.
“Trust me on this.” You smiled at his memory- self. “When have I ever done you wrong or go against my word?”
“Never?”
“Exactly. I’m here to help you, Jin-Woo.”
Jin-Woo looked over at you, his hand reaching out to ghost his hand over your form. His hand went through you as if he was a ghost. Although he is inside a memory and none of his actions had any effect on what had already happened, he wanted to keep watching. He wanted to feel physically your presence. The way his memory self was this relaxed when you were around and the trust his memory self has in you made his heartache.
The question in his mind now was how did he forget about you when you’ve made such a big impact in his life?
[MEMORY 3: HELPING DEAL] Completed.
Entering [MEMORY 4: COMPANION FOR LIFE AND DEATH]
“It’s a chance to grow strong. There’s no way you’d let this opportunity slip by, right?” Your voice made Jin-Woo look back to see his memory-self and you sitting on a bench outside the hospital. “This system of yours is helping you and you should use it to the fullest.”
Jin-Woo’s eyes widened. You know about the system and his quests? This was no ordinary friendship for sure at this point. He thought he didn’t tell anyone of his secret to grow strong, but now there was someone that knew and was encouraging him to push forward. The person was none other than you, still he didn’t expect himself to see it.
“I can’t even finish the daily quests, it’s asking too much of me.” His memory self depressingly said.
You hummed, leaning back. “Think of it this way. If you were given infinite wealth, but you have no idea who to use it or place to store it. What would happen to you?” At his silence, you continued. “You don’t know what to do with it. Or it’s stolen from you. Right now, all you’re doing and what you told me the system is telling you to do is just the stepping stone to your greatness. Instead of risking your risk for some cash, why not dream big?”
“I know but…”
“I’ll do those daily quests with you. 100 push-ups, 100 what? Running too.” You tried listing what you recall. “We’ll do it side by side so you’re not alone in this. I need to exercise anyways.”
“You’d do that for me?” There was a faint blush on his memory - self’s face that made Jin-Woo do a double take. “But I don’t want to bother you too much. You have your work to do too.”
You smiled, “No bother at all. I enjoy helping you. In fact, I’ll be your companion for life and death.”
[MEMORY 4: COMPANION FOR LIFE AND DEATH] Completed.
Entering [MEMORY 5: THE GIFT]
Jin-Woo and his memory-self eyed the sword in your hands, presented to him like a gift. While he was still staring, his memory version asked, “What’s this for?”
“A gift.” You nudged for him to hold it, when he did, you shook your head, “Boy, was that heavy!” You eyed him and shrugged. “You find a use for it. Swords aren’t my fighting style, anyway. Plus, it was collecting dust.”
“I already have my daggers.” He countered.
You gave him a look. “You can use it or you can pass it to someone you trust to use it for you. I don’t mind. Just accept it, please.”
“If you say so.” His memory self sighed and placed it into his inventory.
There it was again. Jin-Woo noticed that you’ve been hinting at future events for a while now. First, you predicted that there would be a time when money wouldn’t be his concern, then you gave him lessons and advice on dangerous events he met with, now you implied that he would have beings that fight for him and by his side, no doubt pointing at his Shadow Army now that he was watching his memories.
You took out your phone again now that your hands were free of the sword, swiping through the screen at something he couldn’t see. “That sword’s called Unbreakable Faith. I think you’ll figure out its function on your own in due time.”
Jin-Woo eyed the phone that you carry everywhere. In every memory he’s seen up to this point, you were never without your phone, even when you were in a fight or raid in a dungeon.
[MEMORY 5: THE GIFT] Completed.
Entering [MEMORY 6: A MISUNDERSTANDING]
Now, this scene was interesting. His Shadows were training, and his memory-self was exchanging blows with you. It was a session where he played his cards, and you countered them―even pointing out weaknesses he had. If his army were there when you were, then do they recall you? That was something he needed to confirm.
Not long after, the two of them were resting, and Jin-Woo stood next to you. Had this not been a memory, there would have been a Jin-Woo on either side of you. Judging from the clothing he was wearing, it was still a time before he was reevaluated and given the S-Rank. The size of the Shadow Army also showed that it was the early days.
“A thought. Since you basically turn any dead beings into undead and a loyal soldier of yours with ‘Arise’, what if you killed me and did that to me?”
The question somehow made Jin-Woo snap as he stared down at the memory of you being that carefree and nonchalant about what you had just suggested. His memory self had the right of it when his hand crashed the water bottle in his hand.
“Why would I ever do that?”
“Oh, I don’t mean just letting you kill me or something. Like if there was an unavoidable situation where you had to kill me for something. Or if you found me dead. It’s better to ‘arise’ me and use me as a loyal soldier, right? I may be called the Laziest Hunter of All Mankind, but I know I have some mad skills and powers that could be yours to dispose of.” You explained your thoughts so casually and detached, as if you didn’t see value in your own life.
“I would never. As if I could just do that to you.”
Jin-Woo saw the way you smiled bitterly while his memory-self was still busy composing himself from rage at the thought of having to do that to you. You who had been helping him since the beginning? He wasn’t sure if his memory self heard what you said later on or not, but now he heard it loud and clear. “If your memories of me are gone, you would. In fact,” There was this emptiness in your tone, more than that, your eyes dulled as if you were a doll. “You’d have forgotten me and pushed me aside.”
“Hey.” Jin-Woo’s memory-self got up and kneeled in front of you. In a blink, you were back to normal and both you and Jin-Woo watched his memory-self intensely. “This is as good of a time as any, actually. If you’re not busy, and I’m not clearing any dungeons with Jinho, would you like to get something to eat together? Not as fellow Hunters, but like a date because I really-“
“Ah! Ah!” You lunged at him and covered his mouth. “What do you think you’re going to say! Think things through! It’s just an idea! Don’t let your impulses take over rational thinking!”
Jin-Woo could predict what his memory-self was about to say, and it hurt him when you halted him in the middle of his confession. Now he knew what his feelings for you were and what you were to him.
[MEMORY 6: A MISUNDERSTANDING] Completed.
Entering [MEMORY 7: FORGOTTEN DEATH]
In this snowy setting, he knew what event this was and when it happened. The Red Gate Incident. The Ice Elves on the battlefield proved it. He took one step and read the memory’s title. His form froze. Death? His head looked around and just in time, he saw you taking an arrow to the chest for him. His form moved before he realized, but just as his arms were ready to catch you, you fazed through him and laid on the snowy ground.
His eyes widened as he moved away, kneeling beside you. The moment he did, his memory self was by your side, screaming and crying for you to wake up and open your eyes. He was desperate. All that screaming made his voice ragged. Still, Jin-Woo could only question why he had forgotten such a memory like that. His form flinched when his surroundings glitched and the emotional memory of himself turned silent and numb, exactly like a switch had snapped in him.
One moment he was hugging your body to his chest, crying and screaming, the next, he had discarded your body to the ground and left to put an end to the battle against Baruka. Jin-Woo knew how it goes, so he stayed by your side. He figured his past self was just too shocked and wanted revenge. He was like that as well. He knew himself. He watched your body glitch occasionally, and every time he reached for you, his hand went through your form. So he stopped trying. He wondered if it was a healing ability you had since he recalled Jinchul asking for you; there was no way you died here.
The exit of the gate generated itself, showing his past victory. Jin-Woo could hardly call it a victory when something like that happened. He watched his past self try to make Baruka a soldier but failed and thus his anger. Jin-Woo understood the sentiment, since that was a strong opponent. However, when his past self was just heading for the gate without you, he shouted, “Aren’t you forgetting someone?!”
To his horror, when he looked back, your body was gone. Where?
“Wait! Don’t go!” Jin-Woo shouted at his past self, he followed right behind his memory self, trying to knock some sense into himself. He knew this was a memory, but seeing you being forgotten and having relived the previous ones, he couldn’t rationally think and act. “You’re forgetting someone important!”
Despite it all, Jin-Woo watched in despair as his memory showed himself leaving the sight without so much as another word or a glance at you. There was no question where you were or the acknowledgement that you sacrificed yourself for him.
In Jin-Woo’s focus on his past self, he didn’t catch your already healed body being carried by a member of the White Tiger’s Guild out of the Red Gate and sent to the hospital.
[MEMORY 7: FORGOTTEN DEATH] Completed.
Entering [MEMORY ???: THE REASON]
Jin-Woo looked around, partially exhausted, mentally. Another dungeon setting. He walked a few steps and sure enough, you were there and so was his past self. The unnerving part was how he saw himself screaming in pain while holding his head. You were glaring at something. He looked over to that direction and saw a window screen. It thought it was his system’s notice, but the design was different, not to mention the colour.
It read the following:
[You have interfered in the protagonist’s path to the point of no return. The help and aid you have given was unnecessary. You will receive a punishment.]
Afterwards, his memory self was knocked unconscious. Jin-Woo watched as you clutched your head from pain, your body shook, and your form swayed and wavered. He heard footsteps behind him and saw a pack of wolves. He turned back to you. You were in no condition to fight and neither was his past self.
But by some miracle, you pushed through and protected yourself and him from the wolves. You collapsed onto the ground, panting, “What kind of punishment is it this time…?”
“This time?” Jin-Woo repeated with dread. Every time you have helped him and aided him, has it resulted in your suffering? He watched familiar system screens trying to undo what was done and failing at every attempt. From the beginning, his system was trying to counter this bug.
You smiled and patted his past self’s head. “Don’t worry, I’m not giving up on you.”
The scene shifted and he saw himself looking out the hospital window while dressed in white. Patient garbs. The door opened and in strolled you with a bouquet and a basket of fruits. “Jin-Woo, how are you feeling? I told you not to push yourself too hard.”
Jin-Woo watched as his past self turned to look in your direction. He flinched at the emotionless expression on his own face. “Who are you?”
You, too, flinched at his cold words. Contrary to Jin-Woo’s confusion, you nodded and smiled bitterly with a soft mutter. “I see, so that’s the punishment. Memory alteration.”
You sighed and placed the flowers and fruit on his table. “I’m a friend of your sister, Jinah. She couldn’t make it today, so I came in her stead. She said to wish you a swift recovery!”
“Oh, thank you for the trouble!” The way his memory self just lit up that easily when it wasn’t you was sickening to Jin-Woo.
The scene shifted again. This time he was at a raid, and you were by his side trying to help him, but he remained unresponsive as he ignored your being entirely. Still, the way you kept continuing to protect him and indirectly help him made Jin-Woo’s head hurt and his heart ache uncontrollably. What sick and twisted ploy is this?
The scene changed. Now it was just himself fighting alone. You weren’t even by his side anymore.
[! ALERT] <FLASHBACKS> have completely be re-experienced, Player will be returned to the present. <RESTORATION> is completed. Everything has been restored.
“Inventory.” Jin-Woo immediately checked. In his inventory, there was this sword he had only seen in his memories. Unbreakable Faith. He received it from you. It was right there now, but before this whole thing happened, it was never there. Someone played him. His fist balled and slammed into the desk, creating a spiderweb of cracks, tears formed and flowed down to his cheek and chin. This heaviness, this unbearable void, all these feelings were rushing at him like a tidal wave.
[Sung Jin-Woo, there is no need to shed tears for a character with such little importance. All you have seen is useless and insignificant. Do not mind the details and look at the bigger picture. You have no need for the forgotten one.]
“How could you do this? To just remove all my memories of someone so important to me, when I was at my lowest?! How could you remove her memories too?! This has nothing to do with you!”
You were innocent, you were merely helping him, you wanted what was good for him. Yet for some reason, your good will was returned with pain and suffering that he was ignorant to. Now, with his returned memories, he knew he had vowed to protect you in return for all the good you have shown him and helped him. What good was that vow when he had forgotten the receiver?! Were you like him? With chunks of memory gone from your mind and don’t even realize the problem?
[You are mistaken. Only your memories have been meddled in. You who the traitorous constellation holds dear and finds solace in. What better torturous punishment than to be unwanted and forgotten by the one person that is treasured to the ends of the universe and more? This is the perfect retribution.]
“What…”
[The forgotten one was doing too much damage to your story, so I saw it fit to send this fragment away from you. I thought my actions were merciful enough, given that I didn’t interfere with your system to have you kill the traitor with your own hands. What was that quest called? <KILL THE ENEMIES>?]
“Mercy…?”
[Express your rage, depression, and murderous intent all you please. None would be effective to a being such as myself. Nor would it bring back that constellation to your side. However, do you truly even need such a presence by your side, Shadow Monarch? For how long have you forgotten those memories? For how long have you ignored such a presence? For how long have you ever needed that traitor? I give you your answers. You have been comfortable without that fragment for too long. What’s does it matter now that you know? It matters not. So, I give you this last chance.} [Do you accept this generosity to permanently forgot ever having this conversation and all relating to the forgotten one?] Accept
“So, you slipped through my system’s defenses by a small miracle, and that gives you the right to redact my memories of a person who saw me at my lowest point, when I was the weakest hunter of all mankind and still treated me like I mattered. But who said you could make her suffer for your own amusement? There’s no denying it. This isn’t revenge, so don’t give me that bullshit about a traitor’s retribution or the sins of a fragment. All I want to know, right now, is her location. Where are you hiding her?”
[You cannot hope to reach that forgotten presence. So do not waste your time and energy. The <SIDE CHARACTER SYSTEM> has made sure that inferior presence will never appear before your eyes ever again.]

Jin-Woo collapsed in his chair. “Where are you. Where are you now, [First Name]?”
[! ALERT]
A quest has arrived. <SEARCH FOR THE FORGOTTEN>
Do you accept?
Yes No
[! ALERT]
A hint will be given upon acceptance.
“A hint.” Jin-Woo read through it. Exhausted from all the ball passing, Jin-Woo felt like a pawn in someone’s game and was accustomed to hurting someone he cared for. Now, he has the chance to take it all back and redeem himself. The first step was to look for you and bring you back to his side. “Accept.”
Do you wish to read [ITEM: LETTER TO THE MONARCH]? Yes No
“Yes.” In an instant, a piece of paper materialized in his hand. His hand brushed the words written on it and checked the signature at the end. When he saw it had your name, he immediately read through it. The more he read the worse his mood. By the end, he slammed it on the desk. “My Shadows!”
At the moment it took for his Shadows to materialize in front of him, enough to fill the room, he had gotten the picture Jinchul had sent to his phone. A clear picture of how you appeared, just as he remembered and saw in his memories moments ago. “Find Hunter [Last Name] and bring her back. Now!”
