A/N: im sad so i started with kageyama and then it turned into this so pls enjoy. currently have a lot of things going on so please excuse my lack of activity lately.

ATSUMU — "Hey Baby, what're the tears for?" Your boyfriend softly chuckled as he let the tips of his fingers swipe the top of your cheek, sitting beside you at the end of the bed. "Have I ever told you how pretty you look when you cry?" he whispered. You bit your lip with a stifled smile, trying not to forget about the reason you were a mess in the first place. "There they are," he smiled, pinching the skin of your face and pulling it outward—only enough to make you sniffle and breathe a laugh—before letting his lips drift to your forehead and sticking them there, basking in the enveloping warmth of your body melting into his.

TOORU — His frown tugged a little too harsh on his face, his eyebrows furrowed in concentration and understanding as he held your head and back with the palms of his hands while your shoulders shamefully shaked in his grasp. He had an idea of why you were crying, he could see it in your face, but he didn't need to know the specifics. He just wanted your tears to stop flowing from your pretty eyes and a smile to return to your glowing face. His lips rested on the crown of your temple and stayed there until your head peeked up from his chest, and your shoulders slowed to a normal rise and fall.

TOBIO — He huffed in frustration at the confusion of him not understanding the situation, but he still caged you like a glass waiting to be broken, and he still spoke to you in the lightest tones you'd ever hear from him. He was mad that he didn't know how to handle the situation, he was mad that you were not okay. He wondered if he had caused it, but he physically shook his head to get rid of the intrusive thought. When you gripped the back of his jacket in desperation, he felt like you needed him in that moment. So he held you closer, embracing your entire figure even when you collapsed to the floor, your legs no longer supporting you. So he made sure he did.

RINTAROU — He became genuinely concerned about your sniffles when you walked in the door with your wrists tugging at your cheeks to wipe the teardrops that just won't stop falling down. You turned your head when you saw him click his phone off in embarrassment, but you still couldn't hide the frown that dragged your mouth down. "Y/n? C'mere, what's wrong?" He gently pulled your arm towards himself and sat himself on the stool with your body standing in between his thighs, dipping his head under yours to find your direct line of vision. He took your hands in his and squeezed them, letting you know to take your time and be comfortable. He was always gonna be there, you know.

bestfriend!atsumu who gives you his hoodie whenever your cold. you're sitting down next to him at lunch, wrapping your arms around yourself, gritting your teeth to keep some sort of body warmth. atsumu's busy chatting with aran, but when you poke him n you ask him with a whisper 'hey do you have your hoodie with you by any chance? im kinda freezing my ass off here.'

bestfriend!atsumu who doesn't think anything of it; his friend is cold n he's pretty sure he shoved his hoodie in his locker from morning training so its not a problem. so he nods, n goes to get it for you, laughing at the way you grab it out of his hands. but the laughter dies in his throat as he watches you pull it over yourself, a warmth growing in his chest as you cuddle up in the thick hoodie, fisting your hands in the slightly too long sleeves with a sigh.

bestfriend!atsumu who's trying to remember how to breath after you thank him, commenting how it's really comfy and smells like him. he's still in a daze, sitting in the classroom staring at nothing, just realising how good you look in his clothes, wanting to see you in them all the time.

bestfriend!atsumu who now keeps an extra hoodie in his locker all the time, hoping that you ask him to borrow it again- praying that you'll wear it everywhere you go because then people know that you are his. maybe not officially, but there's always a first step.

His friend had heard about it and came running to him, knowing that he has had the biggest crush on you since forever. “Y/N’s giving free hugs! Here, they’re on a schedule!” his friend shoves the flyer at him and he takes a look at it out of curiosity.

A few other students in your class are on schedule to give free hugs.

“Ahaha…” Aether grips the piece of paper and feels as if he started to sweat bullets. He waves his hand and laughs it off. “It’s alright, I don’t really wanna bother them. They must be really busy already,” he concludes and passes the flyer back to Lumine. 

“Aether!” Lumine exclaimed. “There’s gunna be other people lining up for the hugs, you know that right?” She was exasperated, Aether could tell, and the more he thought about it the more he just didn’t want to pass up the opportunity, and so, he was in line by 1:40.

ʚ OIKAWA ɞ ── the best friend

you’re alone in your room when you hear a knock at the door. it’d been days alone without your best friend and although the quiet was somewhat peaceful for you to get work done, it was more suffocating than anything. you weren’t expecting any visitors, so with furrowed brows and slight hesitance, you reach for the doorknob. pulling it open, you’re somewhat surprised at the sight. oikawa raises his head, staring into your eyes with every emotion you’ve been yearning to see since that girl entered his life. i’m sorry, he apologizes, pulling you into his arms and holding you close to his chest. i was so dumb he repeats and you can’t really understand why he’s giving you that last comment until he finishes, i’m so dumb for not noticing.

ʚ IWAIZUMI ɞ ── the villain

you step back from chasing him. it’s obvious that no one wants the two of you to be together given the circumstances of this wretched love triangle. were you even allowed to call it that? you’re probably only seen as a friend to him…especially since his childhood friend seems to have such a special place in his heart. he doesn’t quite read the signs though, because as soon as you give up and he notices the lack of your presence, he finds you after class and stands before you with eyes of concern. he knows you’ve been avoiding him for a reason and frankly, he doesn’t like it. so when you come clean about what everyone says around you, he frowns and takes your hands in his. i don’t care what everyone else wants to think. i like you and that’s what matters.

ʚ TSUKISHIMA ɞ ── the one who was too late

you take a step back from him soon after you learn about his relationship. he doesn’t notice at first. how could he? he has his sights on someone else, someone more significant. someone who had the confidence to confess to him at least. yeah, he knew about your little crush on him. but being that you were going to do nothing about it, he shouldn’t pretend to care either. so why was the lack of you bothering him so much? he starts looking for you around the halls, maybe near your locker or talking to a classmate. but it appears as though you completely disappeared. were your schedules so incompatible that you made an extra effort to see him? he should’ve noticed that you were showing you cared, albeit no words were said. he comes to the conclusion that he was the coward, the one lacking the confidence to tell you how much he appreciated you. he gives the girl an apologetic frown to the girl he’d been seeing who waves him off with a smile saying, i thought i sensed something between you two. go to her. so he does.

ʚ KUROO ɞ ── the ex

he scrolls through his own feed, a feeling of phoniness rising through him. the kuroo in the pictures are smiles galore, an exact reflection of the girl beside him in those pictures. but as more time passed, he realizes just how hard he was working to keep a facade up. how did one coffee date become a relationship? sure at the time he thought no harm of it, the two of you were on a break anyway, but now that it’s escalated to something much greater than something casual, the thought of your reaction has been plaguing his mind. he remembers how understanding you were, how hopeful you looked encouraging to take the time he needed while you waited. so there he goes…and then does this? god, he can’t even look at himself. but he has to make it right. which is why he comes clean about everything to the girl he’s currently seeing and then makes his way over to your place, this time with a sense of purpose. he took a break to find what he needed. but time away made him realize that what he needed all along was you.

ʚ ATSUMU ɞ ── the used one

it doesn’t hit him at first. it isn’t until he starts to realize the little things about his day have changed; he waits at his locker for that big smile he grew to adore, he searches through the stands of the volleyball stadium for those bright eyes, yet he doesn’t see them anymore. why should he? you were in his life for one reason only and now that your job was done, he shouldn’t be expecting those sights… when you hear about the breakup, you’re shocked, to say the least. you both put so much effort in making the girl notice him and they didn’t even work out? so now not only did it cause your heartbreak, but it was also a waste of time? your question is answered after class when before you can leave, the door is closed shut in front of you. from behind you, atsumu mentally thanks suna for aiding him in his plan. it’s been a while, he says, signature smirk finding its way on his face but one look at his clammy hands shows he’s more nervous than anything. you spin around to face the boy and wait for his next words. can we talk?

ʚ OSAMU ɞ ── the rebound

the cycle soon begins again…the distrust, constant frustration and arguments. it isn’t until he shouts y/n would’ve never done this! that he realizes just how badly he fucked up. so with a final goodbye, – he reiterates final because he’s sure he’ll never fall into the same empty void again – he leaves his former ex girlfriend and walks straight to your apartment. he doesn’t expect you to take him back, why should you? he treated you like you meant nothing after everything you’ve gone through… but it never hurt to try. so that’s why he’s kneeling at the foot of your door, begging for everything you had to forgive him. he’s sorry and you know it. he spews out numerous apologies and with a heavy heart, you invite him inside for some coffee.

ʚ BOKUTO ɞ ── the matchmaker

your stomach twists at the grin bokuto sports when you ask him to meet you at the diner after his practice. you’re sure it’s a platonic smile, how could it not be? the plan was simple, get the two to meet unknowingly, without you, and just watch their story unfold. you could scoff at the hallmark-ness of the situation. as the evening passes, you’re stuck in your room, nervously biting your nails as a dreaded feeling fills your stomach. if things go as planned, your friend will have a boyfriend…god, why can’t you feel happy for her? the next day comes and you’re still in mystery about what happened the night prior since your friend never messaged you like she said she would. you greet her in school and with a sad smile, she motions over to the captain on the other side of the hallway. he’s got something to tell you, she says and laughs when you stare in worry. don’t worry, i kind of figured it out…i’ll be fine. full of confusion, you walk over to bokuto and at your appearance, he sends a wary smile. y/n, you got a second?

ʚ AKAASHI ɞ── the second choice

awh, i’m sorry i was paired with someone else already, your friend says sadly when akaashi asked to be her partner for a project. you and y/n can be partners! you avoid his glance because you’re far too tired to see the look of disappointment that probably flashed in his eyes. akaashi agrees to be your partner and the two of you meet in the library for the next few days. it’d been a while since he spoke directly to you and he can’t help but feel bad. how come he never realized how smart and caring you were sooner? he finds himself gazing at you as you nervously chew your lip, deep concentration written on your face as you work and looking over at you in class during lessons. he mentions hanging out with you more often following your project and with a stiff nod, you accept. he’s observant though and asks about your look of discomfort. and then there you are, admitting your inferiority complex when standing next to your best friend and akaashi feels his heart sink. i’m sorry if i ever made you feel that way. you’re worth way more than that and i’d like to show you that, if you’d let me.

ʚ DAICHI ɞ ── the friendzoned

he can’t help but feel that there’s something wrong. you’re not as active while participating in conversations with him; you give mere head nods with a smile never reaching your eyes. he doesn’t know what’d wrong until sugawara has to break the news to him. she likes you, you dummy. i think she’s giving up on her feelings for you so that’s why she’s keeping her distance. the words echo in his mind for the following few days, guilt building up in his stomach. was he really blind to your feelings for him? he sure liked using the friend card on you and never did it occur to him that it probably hurt to hear those words again and again. now that he knows, though, he can’t seem to fight the blush on his face. he was never aware when someone liked him so you being his first? what did you even like about him? was he sweating? did he look weird? god, how weird you suddenly made him feel. it isn’t until one day you ask him if he’s alright because he’s looking rather…constipated, that he blurts out you’re making me feel weird! you open and close your mouth a few times, looking away so he can’t see the disappointment in your eyes. wait, wait, that’s not what i meant. i meant it like, looking at you makes me feel weird? no, that’s not right either. look, suga told me you liked me and since then, i also might feel something for you.

ʚ KAGEYAMA ɞ── the neighbor

you’re kidding, you think with a frown. why did today out of all be the day your mother invites the neighbors for a meal? so, kageyama ends up in the seat in front of you, fiddling with his utensils and avoiding all eye contact with you. yep, it’s awkward because it’s been so long. your mothers gush about how much the two of you have grown since you were little and take a trip down memory lane, spewing whatever childhood stories of you both that they can remember. by the end of dinner while you and him wash the dishes, most of the tension seemed to subside. so girlfriend, huh? you can’t help but blurt. kageyama profusely shakes his head. nah, nah, that didn’t work out… he mumbles, looking back up. you? with a scoff, you shake your head. kageyama rubs the back of his neck, pausing from drying the dishes. it’s really nice to see you, by the way. maybe we could see each other more often?

ʚ SAKUSA ɞ ── the rival

part of you curses the universe for making you realize your feelings toward him so late and ultimately, too late. you couldn’t even find it within yourself to participate in your usual competition. having to look at those deep frowns and listen to those insults you usually had a rock hard shield for? hits different when you like the person doing all that…even following his and his girlfriend’s eventual breakup, you couldn’t face him. in class, he hides his chin in his sweater, looking over at you ever so often, wondering why on earth you weren’t in his face, waving around another perfectly scored exam. hey, he mutters after class, looking down at you flatly. you, recognizing the voice, shrink down in your seat, bracing for the impact of whatever rude words he has for you. what’s wrong? you quickly blurt that nothing’s wrong but he can see right through you and asks again. feeling overwhelmed with how stern his expression in, you blurt out in a quick breath that you can’t find it within yourself to bother him anymore because you feel something for him. you slap a hand over your mouth in horror at your confession. but he doesn’t sneer like you thought he would. his shoulders relax and with a light sigh, he mutters, you had me worried that something was actually wrong, dummy.

the first time oikawa tooru tells you he loves you is aged six. chubby cheeks are stretched out with contagious happiness as he presents you his confession with a gift, a lemon lollipop which he had snuck from under his mother’s nose as she spoke to your own.

you mirror his smile, sugar on your tongue and lips coated with artificial yellow as you return his words with no idea of what they truly meant. but, you think as oikawa beams at you, grinning impossibly wide, that maybe the warmth that filled your belly had something to do with love.

Katsuki was sleeping on the couch with his headset on after playing with Kirishima and the other boys, “Baby, hey, bubs I’m heading out.” He hummed with his eyes closed “Huh?” “I’m heading out real quick okay? I love you.” You kissed his cheek before grabbing your keys. “You want me to grab your shoes?” His voice sounding gruff “No baby, I’m okay thank you.” “Here.” You turned around to see him holding his wallet out to you, you giggled. “Katsu, no it’s okay baby.” You began to walk out the living room “Babe, what time is it?” He said as he rubbed his eyes, “It’s past ten baby.” “Okay…. What? Wait,wait,wait. TEN?!?” You started to laugh as he quickly took off his headset , Katsuki got up and immediately put on his slides next to the couch and his hoodie that he took off. “No, no, no baby, It’s okay! I’ll be fine.” “Yeah, no baby I’m not letting you go out this late, fuck that.” He grabbed his phone before walking with you. “Katsu, I promise I’ll be quick.” “Nah babe, I’m going with you.” He grabbed your hand before walking out the front door, “Katsuki! Please you don’t have to come with me.” “No I don’t care, I ain’t trying to have you killed or shit by these fuckers out here.” You started to laugh as he closed the front door and grabbed your hand again walking to your car, “You never know what could happen this fucking late babe.” “Baby, I done it before and came back fine.” “That’s the last fucking time you ever go out this late without me.” He grabbed your keys to start the car and drive to the store with you.
