Omega: hi I’m Omega!!
The rest of the batch: 🤔🙄😑
Tech: *in his head* child?? Human child?? Kaminoan-created human child?? Origin?? Purpose?? Genetic composition?? Must scan this fascinating creature.
Hunter chatting up Crosshair during a break, one of his dumb jokes even gets the man to smile for a second
*the whole room is dark and silent, Echo is fast asleep*
*all of a sudden Echo feels something touching his leg*
Echo: *bolts upright, sees Tech measuring his prosthetic legs* AHHH TECH WHAT ARE YOU DOING
Tech: *adjusts goggles* oh, Echo, I apologize for waking you. I simply had a stroke of inspiration on modifications to make to your legs and required some precise measurements.
Echo: modifications?
Tech: yes. *begins pulling blueprints out and laying them on the bed* I’ve had several ideas tonight, but I think this one is my favorite.
Echo: that’s great, Tech, but honestly I’m really happy with—wait, are those rocket boots??
It would be unfair not to reblog this
This thought came to me at work today, but what if at one point the Marauder kept having issues with its navigation system or something?? And Hunter kept filing reports for it, but since he’s kinda lazy when it comes to reporting he just writes “tech issues” and hits submit
And then one day he gets a call from Cody, and Cody is like, “hey, uh…is Tech okay??” And Hunter’s like, what do you mean. And then Cody produces three months’ worth of reports that say “tech issues” and goes, “Well, apparently, he’s having problems…”
Crosshair never lets him live it down
*Echo and Tech devising battle strategies at 2am on Echo’s first night with the batch*
Echo: —and then, that’s when we would use the cannon to launch wrecker straight into the wall—
Tech: —yes, and at the same time, you and Hunter can be on either side rigging the explosives—
Echo: —which Crosshair will shoot from the other side of the battlefield from on top of the Rancor that we kidnapped earlier—
Hunter: *whispers to Crosshair* this might have been a bad idea.
Crosshair: *sips his coffee* I, myself, have always wanted to ride a rancor.
Imagine the bad batch in a Miss Congeniality type situation
HUNTER: he’s a breakfast for dinner kind of guy. Pancakes, bacon, eggs, orange juice. He does his best to keep the kitchen mess contained, but somehow pancake batter always ends up splattered on the counter and one thing or other ends up just a little bit burned.
WRECKER: he has a “follow your heart” philosophy when it comes to cooking, which means lots of experimentation with spices and cooking times that has varying levels of success. What he really excels at is grilling. The kitchen is always a disaster when he’s done with it (which drives Crosshair up the wall, but Wrecker is the only one who can make steak exactly the way he likes it, so he never complains).
CROSSHAIR: the exact opposite of Wrecker’s philosophy—he follows the recipe incredibly exactly, with no variation, and he keeps a very close eye on everything while it cooks. Incredibly slow and methodical about it all, plus he cleans and washes up while he cooks, which means it takes him 5x longer to make dinner than the others. It drives them crazy, but it also means his food is the most consistent in terms of quality.
TECH: he also likes to experiment—not quite like Wrecker, but he’s always looking up new recipes and delicacies from the planets they’ve visited to try. He’s usually more invested in authenticity than in what his brothers will actually LIKE, which means he’s served them some of the strangest, goopiest, spiciest, unusual foods they’ve ever eaten for the sake of experience.
ECHO: he doesn’t have time to mess around in the kitchen—he’ll pop a frozen pizza in the oven or reheat some leftovers. But he makes up for it by always being the one to help out with clean up, and always cheerfully putting up with the others’ sometimes questionable cooking (let’s be honest, he probably had worse in the 501st).
I love the implication in TCW S7 that the other clones have heard about CF99, but it’s all just rumors, random pieces of gossip and information. Because with an army of that size, information is bound to get distorted, especially when it comes to an elite force like The Bad Batch. An elite squad of clones that performs special and black ops missions with a 100% success rate?? Are you sure?? I heard that…
And even better, I bet the batch encourages all of the rumors and even spreads some themselves. Those droids that were ripped to pieces?? Yeah, Hunter did that with his teeth. Crosshair? One time he took out an entire legion of droids from twelve kliks away in the dark and the seppies didn’t even know until morning. Wrecker once rigged a chain reaction explosion so masterfully that it blew up an entire tectonic plate on the volcanic planet they were on. And the only reason Tech hasn’t hacked into every Separatist database on the galaxy and destroyed them on the inside from his datapad is because he’s too busy saving entire star systems with piloting skills that rival Anakin Skywalker’s.
I literally loved this so much. Like watching it you could just see how much Hunter trusted her to handle the situation—something Crosshair didn’t know to have faith in quite yet, because he hadn’t been around as long, but Hunter has watched her grow and he’s trained her and he knows she knows. Zero doubt whatsoever. That’s HIS kid.
I just noticed during a rewatch of the Bad Batch finale….
after the binders were shot by Crosshair (yeah buddy)- Omega knew to hit the deck so Hunter and Crosshair could keep firing at Hemlock.
It’s a small detail that for me really brought together those moments of Omega saying to the kids “I’ve been trained for this.” - and Hunter saying to Crosshair “She knows what to do, Crosshair. Wait for her…then take the shot” after she taps Hemlock’s arm to signal them.
I can’t stop crying about how much they’ve learned from one another. My head is filling with all the “off camera” training sessions her brothers put her through so she’d learn the plans and know exactly what to do in any situation. I love them so much 😭
So like what’s gonna happen when Omega comes back from the rebellion with a boyfriend?? My guess is that Crosshair takes up sniping again
Omega gives me “Dancing Queen” vibes
