It wasn’t uncommon for Nyota to scrape up a gamma shift, she liked the quiet din of the ship, the soft hum of the instruments on the bridge. There was simply this comforting strangeness she felt, as though she were more intimately connected with the vastness of space.
Though space had very little to say back to her on this gamma round, and in a lull of focus she turned to her left, toward Spock’s station, but before the words can bloom in her mouth Uhura’s noticed the tinge at the very tip of his ears.
“And where are the deep mysteries of logic concerning this futile fight against whatever sickness has your ears green?”
@vulku
if there is a faint green flush to the tips of his ears, dusting across the highs of his cheeks and along his nose -- he says nothing. in fact, he is dutifully ignoring these symptoms of an obvious ( if mild ) illness, in favor of working diligently.
“I don’t like the water, Jim. So every time water and I interact I want it to know who is the aggressor and who is the bitch.” She swigged her scotch maintaining an uncomfortable amount of eye contact with the man across from her, missing the irony of how she is both aggressor and bitch.

i feel like people keep interchanging MAINS, EXCLUSIVES, and AFFILIATES and haphazardly using them without really recognizing what they mean, so here's a brief description of the differences.
MAINS are the primary group of roleplay blogs you interact with on a regular basis. you might choose to prioritize them in terms of replies or ask memes, or focus on their dynamics more often than you do others.
EXCLUSIVES are the only version of that character you will write with. as an example, if you add a canon superman or a princess jasmine to your exclusives, it means you will not write with or follow any duplicates of those characters.
** this can also include FACECLAIM EXCLUSIVES, where you won't follow duplicate faceclaims of your favorite blogs. weird example, but if you're writing with a blog using tom hanks as their faceclaim, you might say you're faceclaim exclusive with that blog and refuse to write with or follow any other blogs using tom hanks.
AFFILIATES are blogs with extensive ties to your blog's canon. their characters are weaved into your storyline to such a degree that you cannot separate them from one another. maybe they're your primary or single ship partner. maybe you created the characters together. maybe they're from the same piece of media and you want to establish their significant ties to your muse and their story. this is a step up from exclusives, and their url is often linked in your pinned or placed on your rules page.
“Please don’t mistake my measured professional tone for calmness, as I am filled with waters of rage.”

I need everyone to understand about the fremen.
They do not cry. Ever.
To give water to the dead is the most sacred honor that anyone could give but they rarely and never do that because it's ingrained in them to not waste water from birth. A single tear could mean life and death for them. To give water to the living? Unheard of.
Paul crying over killing Jamis in the book was a moment that astonished the fremen around him. Jessica ponders their reactions and knows that this is a holy moment.
Jessica then forcing Chani to cry for Paul(this was not in the book btw but I love it) is the ultimate betrayal of her autonomy. To force her to give what is essentially a piece of her life to him without her consent is sacrilegious and she knows it.
Water of Life indeed.
