Hello to the uninitiated, my name is Grimm and I'm currently working on a couple new projects right now, so here is my FAQ!

What project are you working on now?

Currently I'm working on writing my own version of Shazam to post here to tumblr.

The current title is Shazam: City of Brotherly Love or as I like to tag it Shazam:CoBL.

What's your version of the story gonna be about?

I have plans to outline Billy Baton's origin story and his new life at the Vasquez house. If you enjoy the new52 version of Shazam, or the 2019 movie you will see similar themes and character progressions.

Will you be making your version of the story into a comic?

Right now I currently don't have plans to make the entire story into a comic. However, I do plan on translating a handful of my personal favorite moments into small mini-comics. :)

You know despite not even drawing Shazam for a year yet, my character designs still go through constant little tweaks and edits. I’m trying really hard on trying to draw form & 3D shapes right now though, and that’s causing some technical issues when I draw Billy’s hair,,, I’ll have to study up on some comics or something haha,,,

I was hoping to actually pick a different color for Freddy’s chest emblem however, I wanted to save a golden/yellow color for Mary’s design instead. But that’s okay I think he still works with a monochromatic and blue kinda vibe sooo yeah :)

Mary is the voice of reason out of all her siblings, and a stabilizing force amongst their more chaotic impulses. She can be a little stuck up or a know-it-all at times however, at her core she’s always a team player.

Mary’s role in the story is to the the responsible team coordinator. Her more organized and clever approach to situations provides a sharp contrast to her siblings, who are often more reckless and impulsive.

Mary understands that Billy’s past has primed him to be sneaky and crafty when put into a bad situation because she’s the same way. This gives them both a friendly sibling rivalry dynamic.

LESSON OVERVIEW

Mary’s lesson throughout the story is helping Billy adapt to a more team-oriented skill set. Showing him how to take everyone’s needs into consideration to help people who rely on him.

Helping him understand the importance of teamwork and being reliable so that he can become a proper leader/hero.

Mary’s clever and quick-witted personality is a tool she’s used throughout her life to get her out of many bad situations. However, once she was placed into the Vasquez house she’s learned to use those skills to be a pillar of strength for her siblings. Being someone who her siblings can rely on in times of need, and she’s teaching Billy how to do the same.

Darla is the heart of her household. She’s a kind and loving girl who’s still filled with childlike wonder. She is the character who is always lookout for the silver lining in every situation.

Darla’s role in the story is to be the empathetic peacekeeper of the group. She is the sibling that hates conflict and tries to see all aspects of a situation to help find solutions to problems.

She is there to remedy situations and get everyone on the same page whenever her siblings start to argue.

She is the sibling that opens her heart to Billy first despite his cold personality, and welcomes him with open arms.

LESSON OVERVIEW

Darla’s lesson throughout the story is showing Billy the importance of giving people second chances and understanding people before you place judgement on them.

Helping him understand that in order to be a good hero and a good brother he has to open up and let others in. Over the story Billy has moments where he tries to fly solo, but Darla is always the first one to welcome him back despite his mistakes.

Darla’s loving and sweet personality gives Billy insight into how it’s important to give people second chances and intervene when others are in trouble. Billy has done noble things in the past however, Darla is a living reminder of why these values matter.
