i hate that every time i look for color studies and tips to improve my art and make it more dynamic and interesting all that comes up are rudimentary explanations of the color wheel that explain it to me like im in 1st grade and just now discovering my primary colors

[VIDEO AND PHOTO TAKEN: MAY 15TH, 2023 | Video and Image IDs: A video and four photos of a dark multi-colored (metallic blue, red, black, white, and orange) stilt-legged fly, waving its front legs around. In the video it is standing on a green leaf of a small plant, while in the photos it is standing on a rough grey concrete brick /End ID.]
I've never seen this kind of fly before! Apparently, the reason why it's waving its front legs around like that is because it's trying to mimic the antenna motions of a wasp, as a defense mechanism! Another interesting instance of a bug saying "Don't fuck with me" by way of dance,,,
February is right around the corner, which means itās soon time for Funguary 2023! the drawing event where we draw a bunch of mushroom based characters during the month of feb.
Hereās how it works:
Each week of the month will have a theme with seven different prompts, draw something mushroom related within that theme in order to join. The themes are Weird, Mystical, Malicious and Friendly. You donāt have to complete all the prompts, just one mushroom per theme/week is plenty!
If youāre hardcore you can definitely try and finish all the prompts though ;). The challenge intensity is adjustable to what suits you. This is a chill event where the goal is to just have fun and vibe, and honor the fungi kingdom with some really cool artš
I invite you all to come draw mushrooms with me! Use the hashtag #Funguary when posting your creations. Iāll be posting some of the creations here, and Iāll also be hanging out in the hashtag and comment sections! Really hope yāall join and draw fungi with meš„°ššæ See you all on the first of February, LETS GOOOO!!
